I FOUND A STAPLEFROM A STAPLERINMYSUSHI. We ordered a tataki at work because we had to work through lunch, and chewing on my roll I bit hard into something. Decided to spit it out. Found an actual staple in there. I go to tataki relatively regularly because their bentos are OK for the price. This is the last time I will ever go though. I called the restaurant to let them know of this. «Yeah ok sorry. Must be from stapler. Please come back thank you!» *hangs up*

I’ve had a sushi lunch here before and it was good. Today at the last minute, I changed my mind and ordered the pad thai instead of sushi. What a mistake! The dish tasted like nothing. There was no flavor to the noodles or to the chicken, the entire thing was so bland. I ate it just for the sake of eating, but this was the worst pad thai dish I’ve tried from any restaurant, Thai or otherwise. If you are not proficient in something, then I suggest you remove it from the menu. The staff is very attentive and kind and the sushi is good, so that helps support my overall rating.

The food was excellent, but it would have been nice if they’d offer us to see the dessert menu or maybe just give us more than 20 seconds after we finished eating before throwing the check on the table.

Here’s my motto for NYC«never judge a business by its exterior building!» This is a cute little place across from Hilton Garden Inn in TriBeCa. The place was near empty, outside didn’t seem too inviting… BUT we gave it a try. Glad we did! Great service and great food. Nice size menu of sushi and noodle dishes. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars, my daughters steak teriyaki was more rare than she preferred. We could have asked to prepare again but my sesame chicken dish was more than enough food for two. I’m so happy we tried this restaurant because the Hilton Garden Inn is my go to hotel while visiting. Enjoy!

Do not order pad Thai from here, it is very awful, not worth the money. Sushi is better, average quality. however, wouldn’t order form this place again.

solid hearty bento boxes and great service! My coworkers and I order from Tataki every week. It has been a bless for us since we found this gem available on seamless. Their bento boxes come with soup/salad, total costs 15 – 17 after tax and delivery tips per person. Price is slightly on the high side for a lunch, but the quality is very good. Bento boxes coming with miso soup/salad is full of goodies: the main dish you choose(tariyaki, katsu, curry etc), fried Gyoza, and spring roll plus rice(.75 addition for brown rice). I usually get chicken or salmon tariyaki with miso soup. The Gyoza tastes like home-made hearty dumplings. A single bite, hmmm, meat is very juicy and tasty! One thing really impressed us is their great service! We ordered again today and they sent us the order with items missing. They resent the rest of the order within 15minutes of our call. In addition, they gave us complimentary shrimp tempera and a box of tasty pineapple wrapped sushi! Unlike other seamless available places, they showed their consistency from food quality to service quality. Only the ones with the heart of true caring of their customers and the love to share great food will bring surprise and simply made our days happier and full-er XD Thanks Tataki!

Love that you can get rolls with extra filling and no rice — so it’s basically bite size sashimi wrapped In seaweed. I don’t understand why all places don’t do this? If you’re trying to cut out carbs this is amazing. Very fresh and comes on time. The spicy tuna is also much better than average in my opinion. Decent miso soup, I know miso how do you scree that up but some places have.

Very average sushi place. Solid rolls, very polite service. Go here for a reliably normal sushi experience. Didn’t try sashimi, avoided cucumber based on prior bitter comments. Had Sunni roll, Cooper roll, 2 others I can’t remember. Kettle One and soda… 4 rolls plus drink was $ 68 + tip. No complaints

My all time favorite place! I have been coming here for over ten years. Owners know me and my group. Always welcome us with smiles. Favorite go to lunch place just 5 blocks from our office. Rolls are pretty good size, fresh and always very tasty. They also have good plu wine and bento boxes. If I am not in the mood for sushi, bento box with chicken teriaki would be my next choice. Love the spicy tuna rolls, after sex roll, mango tango, seaweed salad, sashimi, and lets not forget the pork goyza. We always occupy the seats by the window. Great place for date. Havent tried pad thai. But why? Because this is Japanese not Thai place. They deliver and have lunch specials.

I belive giving them 3 out of 5 represents my experience from tonight. The place is very cute. I really liked the huge red kimono on the wall and the lights give a nice atmosphere to the restaurant. The waiters were all extremly nice, police and very customer care. What happened was inside our plates. we were 4 and 3 of us had rolls. However tge 3 of us had a strange taste of bitter in our cucumber rolls. Tasted like cleaning product. We told the waiter who tried to explain us that sometimes cucumber can be bitter. And honnestly I can believe him. It is just that the experience in my mouth was not joyful. On my 18 rolls, 3 had this bitter taste but other than that is was very good. Waiters made few mistakes but we are not complicated and we did not yell at them(like some customers can do). The salmon was incredibly fresh and I was very surprised. I would give another shot but won’t order rolls with cucumber. …

Actually the worst pad thai I’ve ever had the displeasure of spending $ 12 on. I should’ve read Unilocal first because now I see no positive reactions to the pad thai but I put my order in with a bunch of coworkers without checking. :( I can’t eat soy sauce, and I’m 99% sure their«pad thai» is the following: rice noodles, undercooked chicken, soy sauce, crushed peanuts, lemon slice. (no pad thai sauce and a lemon instead of lime slice??) I am really not picky about thai food. I love all pad thai as long as it actually tastes remotely like what pad thai should taste like. But the fact that it has soy sauce in it, which I can’t eat(they really should note this on their menu for food allergy purposes), paired with the fact that it literally just tasted so bad and raw, made this unedible and I threw my $ 12 lunch out after 1 bite. I understand this is a Japanese establishment and not a Thai establishment, but if you can’t make a dish remotely edible, don’t put it on your menu. Delivery also took over an hour and I work ~3 blocks away.

This sushi spot is great for a affordable lunch spot during work hours, or a place for takeout if you live in the neighborhood. Came to find this place as the girlfriend had a meeting in the area and was looking for a quick bite. We tried 4 classic rolls and they were all fresh and tasty, but not out of this world. We were the only ones there, but they had a number of deliveries and takeouts going out at the same time. Ideal spot for affordable sushi.

Excellent servers who were really polite. Started off with an avocado salad, which was beautifully presented and tasty. Next came the salmon and avocado hand roll. The salmon quality was not amazing but it was alright. I ordered one of their chef’s special rolls with a number of premium ingredients such as lobster and avocado in it, but was extremely let down. It tasted like a deep fried shrimp roll with a ton of sauce to cover up the heavy rice roll. It’s possible that I picked the one thing on the menu that was not up to their usual standards. I debated whether I wanted to finish it, and decided against it. If I’m going to consume food, it should be enjoyable. The server was polite when I told him that I wasn’t enjoying it. The owner came to ask me about it and tried to offer me something else. I politely declined and he removed it off my bill. I can respect that. I hope that he also comes to re-evaluate some of his menu items, which seem to not serve the purpose of an enjoyable experience.

I’ve ordered from here a few more times since my last review and I only order when someone else is treating me. This is because the quality is just really poor, at least when it comes to the sushi. I even tried the spicy salmon rolls again and I’ve sworn it off. It seems like they ground the salmon and then mix it with the mayo before assembling the roll; but the end result tastes bland and mushy. The shumai, especially the wasabi shumai, are no longer good. Mine were strangely hard and didn’t taste fresh. The fried calamari comes with exactly 9 pieces; the batter is very simple and the consistency of the squid was sort of stringy. Was not a fan of their garlic shrimp fried rice; Chinese flavors, overcooked shrimp. When I opened up my side salad a very small spider crawled off the inside of the container top :(I know things happen, it was a *very* small spider but yeah, I wasn’t eating the rest of that salad. The gyoza are still good, and their chicken wings are actually really big and tender and juicy(they come with sweet chili sauce on the side). And if you’re ordering for many different people they will individually bag and label everything which is nice.

*** Wide sushi roll selection, Great service *** Came here with a friend for dinner. We split two sushi rolls. The rolls were delicious and pretty standard that you would find at most Japanese restaurants. However, it was a bit pricey. The service was great though! I wouldn’t be coming back only because of its location.

Came here for lunch on a Tuesday. Was absolutely wonderful! Had the miso soup which was so flavorful and chock full of tofu. The two rolls we had(golden dragon and the naughty girl) were delicious!
