Cons — Overpriced and it seems as if they raised their prices again last week smh… I know it’s on Park Ave but there’s no reason why I would pay $ 14 for a small salmon piece with brown rice. Even other people in line were complaining about the price– shocked that the prices went up… seriously edamame for $ 4?! Pros — The food is pretty tasty but not THAT tasty for the amount of money they’re charging. — Nice atmosphere — They give you thick napkins and a nice bag for to-go orders… is that where my extra charge is going to?

I paid $ 11 for literally half a bowl of quinoa. Gross. I’m not sure what about this is justifiable, or what about it is Japanese? Next time I’ll just stop by the grocery store and throw some edamame from the freezer section on some quinoa from the grains section. It’ll cost me the same amount(thanks to NYC prices) and I’ll get a week’s worth of lunch.

Fast and easy but a little pricy. Sushi was delicious but miso and edamame were average at best. Good if you are in a hurry.

Update — it’s been awhile since they opened, and it doesn’t seem like they’ve improved on efficiency. Waited over 25 minutes for my pork ramen. Then I get back to the office to find that they forgot the egg and lettuce. Can’t say I was happy to spend $ 11 on an incomplete order that took so long to get. Poor dude packaging and distributing the food needs a helper — not his fault, but I wasn’t the only one who was waiting for a long time for my food.

Such a good place! I had the spicy tuna roll — it was so good! I would definitely come back to try more of their sushi. Their service was fast and friendly — and the location was super clean, too.

Five stars for the décor and atmosphere! I kept the napkins b/c the intricate design on them was so beautiful. 2 stars for the food. It was not rotten, but did not taste good. The Walgreens on Union Square S has a sushi bar. Finding the Walgreens sushi bar was a pleasant surprise; I often stop by! To this day, the staff appreciates it when you acknowledge their work. :P Sushiro’s sushi, however… was not a pleasant surprise. For the quality of food that I got, I would much rather stop by Walgreens, Wholefoods, or a deli for some sushi ^_^ I would not go back. I took my friend. Trust Unilocal.Don’t take your friend. :P

This is a very nice looking spot. The menu is diverse and varied, the staff is very friendly, and there are many options, from grab n’ go sushi and cold salads to hot foods, such as ramen, soup, and rice bowls. Why the 3 stars then? Well, that probably has something to do with my ordering a spicy pork ramen and receiving a chicken katsu rice bowl instead. I mean, the number on my ticket matched the number the person called which matched the number on the bag. And yet, this is what I got. And unfortunately for me, I didn’t realize this until after I got back to the office and opened the bag. I guess I could have gone back and figured out how my order got mixed up, but I was too lazy, so I ate it instead. And it was pretty decent. But it wasn’t what I was expecting. I hope whoever ordered the chicken katsu bowl enjoyed my spicy pork ramen.

This for a while seemed like one of those cursed pieces of land where no business can ever stay open after moving in. But it’s been a few months since Sushiro came in and it still seems pretty bustling every day during lunchtime. As they get in their groove things seem to be more organized and less hectic, so even if you order something to be prepared and not ready made from the fridge you’ll probably get out of there pretty quickly. I gather that some people have had issues with the sushi, but I’ve never experienced that. The fish has always been fresh and delicious. It’s pricier than a grocery store sushi lunch, but I think the quality is much higher. I also recommend their bowls, noodles, and soups. The portions aren’t huge, but personally I prefer that when eating lunch at work so I don’t feel like a fat sleepy slob for the rest of the workday. I enjoyed the salmon bowl with brown rice… at $ 13 it’s not cheap at all, but again I think the quality is there. The first time I was there my dining companion and I indulged in some mochi ice cream, and found that it was much too frozen to eat right away. Makes sense since a lot of people probably would order it to go and it needs to keep. The flavors were yummy and I liked that they have a nice variety in the 4-pack. I noticed that they give away ridiculously nice and thick branded napkins. If could be a business buttinsky for a second, maybe it would be worth getting a lower stock napkin and passing the savings on to the customers?

I’m genuinely surprised this isn’t a chain, because the atmosphere felt very«curated, midscale, fast Japanese». That being said, I don’t know that there exist any fast food sushi chains, just because the nature of ingredients and style of food seem a little more difficult to recreate with uniformity. The visual identity is quite pretty, with the dark blue cherry blossom drawings, and the rounded sans serif font. This location is features a decent chilled, instant purchase section of food near the restaurant entrance, with a fair selection of sushi. You can also order your food at the counter. The menu features ramens and other typical Americanized Japanese fare. I really wasn’t wow’d by this place. The service is fast, but the price is a little more than I’m willing to pay, and the food is entirely bland and generic. In total – very middle of the road. I’m at a sheer lack of things to say.

Fast-casual sushi place. Super busy during lunch hour, but amazing sushi and sashimi at a discount price(don’t judge quality of fish by price here). I always get ichi ni salmon, and u can order it(and any sushi if u want modified somehow) with brown rice at the counter. Chicken ramen was also delicious! Roast chicken, though wasn’t a fan of it being shredded, their nooses are wavy/medium firm and he broth was not overly oily like some gourmet ramen places. Generally very good service and friendly staff. –1 star because eating area is usually dirty and sticky even hours after lunch rush.

It’s near my workplace previously it’s the location for sushi shop which closed sometime ago. The interior layout down to event the wasabi packets they use are very similar. It seemed busy every time I went, once I ordered the pork ramen $ 10(should be spicy but I asked for non spicy) and a pre made container with 5 piece salmon sushi and 5 sashimi($ 10). Overall the price are fair and I would return again for sushi and Japanese ramen. Sushi was fine, the rice was slightly hard a sign of being in fridge for a bit long but overall decent. Ramen was tasty and large portion. I enjoyed my food and will come back again for sushi or ramen.

This place is located near my new office, I passed it a few times and decided to stop in for lunch one day. I’m so glad I did. I ordered the spicy pork ramen to go, no bean sprouts. Total came out to $ 10.89, which is reasonable to me. All of the packaging materials are beautiful and very high quality. I didn’t have to wait long either. I love that they give you a special soup spoon with your order. The actual restaurant is gorgeous and very clean. The interiors are nice and bright, ill definitely have to stay next time I come. When I first opened my soup, I got a very distinct nutty smell, which is odd because I didn’t taste anything nutty. I’m a little disappointed that the broth didn’t fill up to the top a bit more, but that’s my only complaint. The broth is really good, I’ve never gone to a real ramen house, but this stuff was delicious. After digging a bit, I found the egg and 4 pieces of pork. The egg is cooked perfectly and the pork had really great flavor. It was very easy to eat the pork, it fell apart nicely in the soup. There are plenty of ramen noodles too and they were cooked just right. I’ll definitely be back. Their salads look great and they have a really nice selection of sushi and I could eat this ramen all day every day.

This is an okay spot when you want a quick and solid lunch. I really like how spacious and clean this place is. Also, the customer service was excellent. Everyone was super friendly and very helpful, so definitely a plus! I’ve only tried the Ichi Ni Salmon(5 salmon nigiri, 5 salmon sashimi, and seaweed) and it was okay. The salmon is definitely fresh, but it sucks that the rice was cold and a bit hard. I think that sort of ruins everything. so hopefully they can try to improve it. I will definitely come again though and try their hot foods.

If you plan to order done-in, the udon bowls are a lot more pleasing. Ramen is always placed in a taller more can-like bowl. The udon is served in a wide mouthed bowl. Perfect poached eggs. I recommend the seasonal kale udon. Staff was friendly and kindly customized my order to my suiting. I asked for only a little broth. Ramen and udon runs around 10 – 12 per bowl. I ordered two bowls but only was able to finish one. If you decide to order a rice bowl, I do feel like you get less for your buck. Will rang me in, and was very friendly and welcoming when I came back up to order a drink. I heard him offer to help the cashier who rang me in. I just got the sense that he is a really good guy and that the staff is willing to do whatever to make your visit as fast and pleasing as possible.

Let me preface this by saying I didn’t go for the sushi after reading a few of these other reviews. Luckily, Sushiro has a ton of other options, including a spicy pork ramen that’s pretty good. Big bowl to go with good hunks of pork. Not as good as dedicated ramen places, but in a pinch, it’ll do for lunch. Staff is super friendly, and the place can get pretty packed. Makes sense since they have a ton of seating and the place is clean enough for a business lunch. And yes, they do have really pretty napkins.

I hate to be racist but I have to tell the world that sushi made with brown rice taste awful!!! Overall, very disappointing on sushi. I think any sushi comes out of the fridge won’t taste good. Restaurant price but fast food quality. Paper bag and napkins are pretty. Do they really matter if food is not so good?

Great, casual sit down place with not only sushi, but other Japanese options. I was actually surprised to discover this place is not really known for their sushi but their rice and salad bowls. I came in wanting sushi, but realized their bowls are the way to go. The place is very casual, where you order at the counter and they bring it to you. I ordered the salmon rice bowl and got pretty much what I wanted. The bowl I ordered was a freshly cooked piece of salmon on top of a mix of lima beans, brown rice, and roasted mushrooms. It was topped off with a drizzled green sauce that made it very flavorful. I had to add a little soy sauce, since it was pretty dry, but still very filling. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The people working there seemed a little rowdy, but at least they weren’t coming across like they were hating their jobs. Definitely a great place for lunch!

Sushiro’s go to option is actually not their sushi. My co workers and I come here for their spicy pork ramen. You can customize your order to how spicy you want it and even substitute the ramen for udon. For a Japanese restaurant I don’t see any Japanese or even asian employees. But it doesnt matter, as they are all super friendly anyway. However I did ask if they had garlic and 2 separate employee gave me ginger instead. Overall good spot for Ramen, but they lose points for failing to deliver on sushi, even though it’s in their name!

Food was petty tasty but nothing special. I got the spicy pork ramen, which was okay but small portion and bad packaging. My friend got the chicken Katsu curry with rice. It was tiny and expensive for the size. Sushi boxes were over priced and not prepared fresh. I don’t think that I will go back.
