Work in The a Empire State Building. Several months ago when Sushi-terai opened I tried it. Like many others, thought it was over priced, but really fresh and ridiculously convenient. Tried it again last month. Found it to still be premium priced, but noticed a distinct change in freshness. Tried it last week, horrible. Rolls fell apart. More avocado than salmon in Salmon Lovers plate. Tuna was flavorless. I threw out more than I ate. Never again.

Their Hawaiian Crunch Burrito set me back $ 5.44 through an EatArcade pickup promo, and still wasn’t even worth it. Staff was very confused, but friendly enough, but the product was just an awful, unappealing-in-every-way mess. Their website’s FB and IG icons just go back to the website. and subscribing to the e-list results in a ‘no subject’ email with no details on who sent it or why. This seems in line with the random e-devices all over the space behind the annoying revolving door.

EatArcade Special $ 5 Deal — I’m really enjoying this foodie delivery app btw Hawaiian Crunch –Oh God, please let me be patient as I write this. I hope the deal today somehow messed up the quality, but really, it wasn’t great. First, this was 80% lettuce. There’s your crunch I guess. A huge chunk of shredded lettuce can actually taste really disgusting. The avocado was nice, creamy. The tuna was scarce, barely any scraps in there. If you ordered a spicy tuna roll, there was the equivalent tuna of 3 – 4 individual pieces of spicy tuna sushi inside this burrito. Very annoyed. The flavor of the rare tuna slivers was actually very flavorful albeit mushy. The mango was a nice sweet touch but totally bombarded by the lettuce brigade. The seaweed nori wrap was nice, but didn’t hold together on the last ½ inch; everything fell apart, on both halves — a mess. The special deal was $ 5 today, thank GOD, because I would NEVER pay more than $ 12 for this. Also, I felt hungry afterwardsd, never a good sign… I’ll try this place one more time. The store looked nice, lot of iPads — cool way of ordering

Really a fan of their menu– unlike other sushi burrito restaurants, they keep things simple with relatively limited options of a variety of types of sushi. Meaning, they have a few burrito options, few roll options, and few other great dishes. The burrito with spicy tuna and crunchies(almost like rice krispies) really hit the spot.

This is one of the best places for sushi. The portions are great and the customer service is phenomenal. I bring a group of high school seniors from Florida each year. I try to stop by every time I am in town. This was my first time at this location.

After waiting in line for 35 minutes with little movement at poke works we decided to check this place out. We had the sushi burritos. We enjoyed the Hawaiian crunch rolls which had spicy tuna, avocado, mango and mas ago. Delicious. Fine, clean, minimalistic atmosphere. Would recommend!

Came for the Sushi Burrito! It was interesting how you order your food from a machine rather than talking to a cashier. Was quick and easy though but I can’t say the same about the food coming out. The food took some time. Probably waited close to 10 minutes. Wasn’t in a rush though so I didn’t mind too much. When I got my Sushi Burrito I was surprised how small it was. Definitely not the size of a burrito. This is not the first place to ever come up with this concept. I have had true to size sushi burritos elsewhere. Wish they could make theirs actual burrito size here. I got the Mixed Vegetable Sushi Burrito and it had a lot of lettuce. A lot… I’m glad I ordered a side of Spicy Mayo to dip it in because if not it would have been pretty dry. All and all though I might go back. One thing making me unsure of returning is the price. Maybe add some baked tofu or tempura avocado in the Vegetable Sushi Burrito and that will make the price make more sense.

I stopped in today at this new spot to get my Japanese fix. The place has a modern trendy feel to it. I was able to order my food directly from a tablet. The menu has all your staples but also included some unique rolls. I was very happy with the sushi it was very fresh. I definitely prefer this place over other local places in the area.

I love eating here to get my sushi fix whenever I go to the Garden. Best sushi in the area. Excellent super fresh sushi. The sushi burritos are a great idea. I wish I invented that.

No frills sushi place. Sushi was alright, not phenomenal but not disastrous either. Good with the groupon deal. Service is definitely fast. However, will not travel out of my way for it.

— ran a grand opening(in building) promotion $ 10 off your meal(first time orders only, minimum $ 15) which apparently was abused because there was no way of tracking how many times people used coupon codes — went with a coworker on the last day of the promotion and they refused to honor the promotion despite it being the last day of what was advertised and it being our first time there — ended up leaving because without the promotion the prices seemed high

Can’t wait to go back!!!

A place where you can electronically place your order, avoid small talk with cashiers, and a wide open space with numerous seating… what’s not to love about this place. Seeing how sushi burritos are the newest trend in food and the immense popularity Pokeworks has received with the past months(which I am glad to have tried before they became popular), I decided to try out this place to feed my sushi burrito craving. As compared to Pokeworks, this place has a more refreshing Japanese feel whereas Pokeworks had a warm Hawaiian feel. The minute I walked into this place, my eyes were literally coming out of my eye socket. Not only was this place spacious, through the sides of the walls are kiosk tablets, in which you control how to you take your order. Nothing like customizing your own order would make you feel powerful(I kid… but it does feel cool to control what you order). I came here with my brother and we ordered the Spicy Camaron sushi burrito(which consisted of crispy shrimp tempura, spicy kani, cucumber, sweet mango, pickled oshinko, kanpyo, iceberg lettuce and masago topped with sweet soy sauce), and the Hawaiian Crunch(which consisted of spicy tuna, avocado, seaweed salad, tempura flakes, sweet mango, crisp lettuce and masago topped with their wasabi citrus sauce) with brown rice($ 1 more). Both were about $ 12 each. The Hawaiian Crunch was good, but personally for me the avocado and spicy tuna made the whole burrito a bit bland tasting and mushy. The wasabi was not as strong as I had hoped and it wasn’t crunch as I had hoped(maybe because I got this order to go and ate it later on). For me the taste came and went with every bite. The Spicy Camaron was my personal favorite. The crunchiness of the shrimp tempura, cucumber and oshinko(pickled radish), the spiciness of the kani, the sweetness of the soy sauce and the tanginess of the mango made every bite an amazing experience. There was so many different flavors that oddly accommodate each other. One bite takes you on a trip of so many flavors in your mouth. Food: delicious, my favorite was Spicy Camaron burrito(spicy, tangy and crunchy) Appearance: spacious, modern-tech, just a small area to pick up your order what Service: first time I’ve used an electronic service and it was great; they email your receipt and text you when your order is ready Price: pretty average for city seafood(~$ 10-$ 15), I think the sushi burritos were worth it seeing how big and filling they are. If you are ever in the Herald Square area, and love sushi and everything seafood I highly recommend this place as there is hardly any long lines and your food is ready in like 10 – 15 minutes.

Pretty good sushi — but it took way longer than I expected, considering the whole premise seems to be the speed. I tried the Sushi Burrito, which is a fun change of pace, but I found it kind of hard to eat. The miso soup was also really bad, so don’t bother with that!

Love it! I had the Spicy Kani Miso and the Salmon Like You Sushi Burrito. They were both quite good and recommended. You can order your food on the various iPad kiosks around the place. It’s easy and quick. Not sure why people are calling the sushi sub-par and not sure what they are comparing it to but I eat a lot of sushi and this was fine. Also, it’s NYC where lunch is not cheap. For the convenience and what you get here the place is great. I’ll be going back again and again.

I ordered pickup and paid extra for brown rice. They got the order wrong and gave me white rice but charged me for brown. That’s fine, it happens, but when I called to get the extra money back I couldn’t get in touch with anyone. No one answered and they don’t have a voicemail set up. Plus, the food is overpriced. $ 13 for a sushi burrito. Not sure what’s up with this place or their overpriced sushi.

I went in to use my groupon last month. It was a pleasant experience placing an order using their IPad kiosk and getting a fresh meal pretty quick. There’s a small sitting area against wall next to cash register. It sort of gives a private eating area which will work great for someone to have a brief lunch and leave. Next time I might be sitting there. Salmon roll and a specialty roll were delicious and with the discount I had through groupon I was a satisfied customer. The server/cashiers were friendly and courteous. Nice!

Pricey but I can’t beat the convenience. I work in the building, so on cold, wet days it’s an easy option for decent sushi. The setup and ordering experience is really convenient & efficient, and the staff is always helpful.

A friendly sushi take-out spot with tablets arranged out in the open so you can walk in, browse the menu, and order without having to be waited on. The offerings aren’t as broad as some places, but it also means making a decision is a little easier. The maki bite offerings encourage mixing and matching, to try new things. The food comes pretty quickly and tastes quality. Soups and salads are surprisingly large for the price, sushi less so, but it’s pretty good. This is the sort of fast food we should have more of.

Technology meets sushi! I have been eyeballing this place ever since I saw the sushi signs pop up. I was pretty confused at first trying to understand why they were advertising sushi and tablets but the world makes sense now! The sushi-teria(play on cafeteria. haha yeah it took me a minute to get it) is your made to order lunch counter, there are sushi chefs standing by waiting to freshly make your sushi. Along the walls are many mounted iPads with their menu built in, just scroll through and pick what you like, customize as you please and pay! Boom all done! For those of you who don’t like plastic there are options to pay cash as well. Staff here is very sweet, they saw me fumbling around with the iPad trying to figure out the menu and one walked over and walked me through the entire menu. You have the option of putting in your email or phone number to get an confirmation text or email when you food is done — talk about integrating technology. Food came out relatively quickly so for you on the go people this is definitely a bonus. I ordered two of their maki bites, two pieces of sushi and the seaweed salad for a grand total of $ 15. A bit more than I wanted to spend for a small snack, but I was really curious. The seaweed salad was pretty great, it was made of many different types of seaweed which was different — but in a good way. There were a lot of different textures and the dressing was mild and not overbearing, with a slight hint of wasabi to each bite. The maki bites and sushi were ok. The fish wasn’t as fresh as I would have liked, but then again sushi on the east coast has been a bit of a disappointment for me. But by all means wasn’t the worst sushi I’ve had either. Overall, its alright. Food is pretty expensive, but considering its inside the Empire State Building that is a given. I love the convenience of being able to order and customize on the iPad — you can even order beforehand online and swing by to pick it up.

Two stars simply for the experience. It is indeed speedy and I like the ipad ordering system. However, no stars for the food or the price. The sushi, especially in this part of town is sub-par and the price is astronomical. Sushi-teria needs to realize that just 1 block away there are many competitors offering much better sushi in higher quantities at smaller prices. The sushi was par for the course if it was pre-packed at a deli and if the entire meal was $ 12. Not for the upscale price I paid for my lunch($ 20 for miso soup, a specialty roll — 6 pieces and 4 pieces of a standard yellow tail roll).

The newest restaurant in Koreatown/Midtown is Sushi-teria. This is a great restaurant for to-go order or quick sit-down meal. Once you step inside the restaurant, find an iPad and browse the sushi options. You can choose individual pieces or combo meals. There are also appetizers and sashimi. If you order full rolls, you also have the brown rice option. You can customize your orders by adding comments on the iPad screen. However, they don’t offer substitutions in sushi combos. They will call you by name once your order is ready. They take both cash and credit card. Online order is accepted. I tried the Yuzu miso soup and it was just okay. I may stick with the original miso soup next time. I ordered«maki bites» — individual pieces of sushi(only available from 11:30AM — 3: 00PM) and I liked them! I tried shrimp sushi, shrimp tempura maki bite, salmon maki bite, and king salmon maki bite. They were all great. I may opt for the specialty rolls or sushi combo next time. Menu is here, Hours is posted here,

Finally, a sushi-only place that’s closer to my office! The interior is super bright and they were playing some pop music, which was unexpected but not unpleasant. When you go in, you’ll see iPad ordering kiosks all along the walls, which are especially efficient since it gives some the chance to peruse their menu while giving others the speed they want and need to order. If there’s a huge crowd of people waiting for their food, don’t fear; their service is very fast so it doesn’t take long at all for them to prepare your order. It may take a little while longer for non-sushi items(e.g., gyoza), but even then they’re still pretty quick. Prices were on par with Asian restaurants in the area, so don’t expect a cheap meal. Sushi and sashimi run for $ 3-$ 4 per piece. The cashiers are very nice and courteous when handing your food. They recite everything that’s in the bag, even sauces, and wait for you to confirm the contents. If you’re missing something, they’re quick to give you what you need. Because this is a pure to-go place, there aren’t any seats, which is probably a good thing. They can focus on speed and service instead, which will be a huge appeal to those working nearby. The sushi is pretty good, much fresher than I expected. A lot of places use old, dry sushi rice, but not Sushi-teria. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of their rolls. A note, though: I can’t say anything for the freshness of their fish since I opted for their Pacific Jewel roll which had eel(and that’s typically pre-packaged). And though I didn’t trust their website enough to do so(I didn’t have enough time to check whether they were using security certificates to safely send credit card info), you can order and pay online, then pickup in store. You can even indicate when you want to pickup, if not immediately. TLDR; One of the only places in the area that specializes in sushi. Decent quality, typical NYC prices. No seating, but very efficient. Place is still new, but would recommend.
