Convenient & lots of great food stuffs like mochi. Open 24⁄7. Bit pricey, but it’s the city.

I had a ridiculous experience here the other night. I stopped by to get a drink for myself and my boyfriend. The total came out to $ 5.02. I had a $ 5 bill, and asked if they’d spare me 2 cents, thinking, of course! Turns out, they won’t. Real neighborhood feel *sarcasm*

By far, one of my favorite places in all of the East Village and my go-to place for my daily grocery and snacking needs. They have an excellent selection of food and drinks and household items and their staff is so friendly and nice! I always feel welcome at St Mark’s Market and, if I ever move out of the East Village, I’ll still have to return here from time to time just to say hello and buy a kombucha!

I just bought four items here, including a «Kombrewcha» and a chocolate bar. The bottle of Kombrewcha they sold me was faulty, and the bottle cap wasn’t completely sealed. By the time I got home it spilled all over my bag and ruined the chocolate bar. Manufacturing messes up sometimes, but when I called to address the open(and therefore unsafe) bottle, an Asian man with a heavy accent answered the phone and basically told me to f#^* off. «Maybe you opened the bottle» he told me. Yeah, that’s why I’m calling you in the wee hours of the morning – to let you know I opened the bottle. I asked to speak with someone else, and he said no one is there and to call tomorrow. I left the store thinking what a nice little grocery store to do a little shopping. Of course they were all smiles and friendly when you’re about to swipe that card. After you swipe that card, well, you can forget it. Now they too can f$@! off. Absolutely terrible. And they have a $ 7 minimum for credit card charges, which is why I bought that stupid stuff to begin with.

I love this market and the people who work here as the reason why I’ve been going here for years. They carry many asian products as well as organic brands. The best thing is that they are NEVEREVER closed!!!

This is my usual go-to grocery. They have definitely changed things recently though. Prices have gone up a bit on some things and they seem to have less of a variety of items they stock. But overall I think it will remain my grocery of choice.

Since the new owners the quality is going down and the prices up up up. The sandwiches at the deli counter which used to be a staple for me aren’t as good as they used to be too. Becoming increasingly disappointed in a spot I used to shop once or twice a day. The staff however is lovely as always.

This recessed space is a nice resource for some esoteric items, with a wide selection for a smallish space, but it’s a tad pricey, especially for St. Marks.

This place used to be great then new owners took over and jacked the prices up ridiculously and replaced a lot of the specialty brands they used to have with big brands you’d find at Walmart. The store has been reconfigured to maximize impulse buying. The new owners probably paid a lot for the place and want to recoup that and so followed some retail book to the letter and the result is a total disappointment.

I ate here all the time last year, but sometime this summer the deli’s prices all went up and the deli’s food started to not taste as good as before.

I have lived around the corner from this place for over six years, so I’ve been here a lot. It’s convenient and the selection is fine. Their prices historically have been fairly good value for NYC. Warning: prices have gone up recently. The quart of organic milk I bought here is about $ 1.25 more than Walgreen’s charges. The check out person told me it’s because they have a new owner.

Convenient location and not crowded. That’s the biggest thumbs up! They have all the staples from East to West, and they have many organic products for daily use as well. Certain things such as fresh vegetables are slightly more expensive, but that’s expected. St Marks serves as one of those perfect supplementary grocery stores for me.

I shop at the st marks market at least 2 – 3 times a week. Its convenient location and variety of products they carry is a big plus. Great variety of fruits and vegetables that are always fresh and put out daily. Prices are not the lowest but adequate to the location of the market. Never experienced attitude from a cashier which seems to be a common tendency in this city. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Definitely a great spot to go on a 3 am shopping spree since they operate on 24⁄7 basis. Their music selection is also a big +++!

Grocery that opens 24 hours, wish I have something like this closer to where I live. The produce are reasonably priced, but it’s kinda hard finding stuffs in their grocery aisles. Nevertheless, the prepared food section always have delicious stuffs.

Best deli in the area! They have the most fresh food ever! They carry a great variety of unusual food and brands. I LOVE their soups. I religiously used to get their chicken soup. They also have the best breaded chicken cutlet. I used to get it on a roll with avacado, american cheese and lettuce… It was just Soooo good. The cashiers are all really friendly, good people. Super huge variety of vegan, gluten free and organic food!

I feel so lucky to live close to this market, and will miss it when I move. The selection here is great, especially if you are trying to eat clean. They have a section of snacks that are made of completely natural ingredients, a great selection of fresh and ready to eat fruit, and most of the basic items that you would need for cooking as well. The store is clean and the clerks are very friendly. Love this market!

Nice, little grocery shop in the heart of Saint Marks Place. I’ve been here a few times and there’s a lot of neat food here with Japanese snacks, organic snacks, tea, drinks, and a lot more. Prices are reasonable. Good customer service. Super convenient too.

St. Mark’s Market is the ultimate convenience store. I am so thankful they are open 24⁄7! I cannot count how many times I’ve stopped there post-midnight because I got out of work late. They have fresh fruits and vegetables(not overly ripe fruit and bruised vegetables like the typical corner deli). Also, they don’t force you to buy a ton of fresh herbs at some ridiculous price like Whole Foods does. They have packaged their herbs into smaller bunches, and you end up paying a very reasonable price. Then for days I don’t want to cook, they have freshly prepared salads(those run on the order of $ 4.99) which are topped with protein-rich items such as avocado. Their sushi chef is also very good at creating artistic looking rolls. While the quality of the fish isn’t equivalent to a sushi restaurant’s, it’s still fresh. Also, the sushi chef knows the little details — such as using rice that’s been coated with a little rice wine. Their candy section is also pretty amazing — it’s as diverse as the United Nations. I can get Pocky Sticks(Japanese), Maple Sugar Candy(New Hampshire), Kinder Bueno(Croatia), Nutella(a European thing) and more. I am so glad I have this place in my neighborhood!
