Came here with my daughter for lunch Saturday. The food was delicious. The waiter apologized when the food was taking a bit long and gave me a glass of wine on the house as a result. That’s always a plus for me. Will def be back

Pass it by. We were welcomed by the manager and seated and ordered a beer and wine, which came promptly. We ordered our dinner, and waited 40 minutes to be noticed, when bread was delivered. After an hour and five minutes, and attempts to signal to our(non) waiter we got up to leave. As I spoke the the manager, she gushed that our order was just leaving the kitchen having taken an hour and ten minutes. «I am leaving» I said. I was prepared to pay but she said to forget the $ 122 bill. Expensive at half the price. Too bad, as it is convenient in our under-restauranted neighborhood. We won’t return, having never walked out of a restaurant before.

Rosina opened up right across the street from me, but I’d honestly travel to this spot even if it was all the way downtown. We’ve tried their chicken wings and crab cakes, both were items we’d order again. The owners of the restaurant introduce themselves to you, thank you for dining at their restaurant, personally makes sure you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. Very nice bartenders. Their truffle pizza is my favorite — we ask them to sprinkle some Gorgonzola or blue cheese on it for a little extra kick. Perfect spot for pizza, salad, wine and maybe a cannoli if you’re feeling bad ass: P

I wish I could rate this 0 stars. I should start this by saying 1st it was Valentine’s Day so I expected service to be a little slower than usual, and 2 I’m a server so I understand the industry. Never have I received such bad service in my life. My fiancé and I were seated quickly and warmly by the host and that was where a good time ended. We ordered finally quickly since the menu was limited due to the holiday. After waiting 30 minutes with no food on our table I finally waved our server down(it took a while to find him) and asked for bread(since every other table had some). We got our bread. 40 minutes have gone by our salads that were supposed to come with our meal hadn’t arrived. Yet again I had to flag our server down to ask about our salads. The salads came. After a total of 50 minutes in the restaurant, our sever finally came to clear our empty salad plates and I questioned him about our entrees. He said he had been checking on them and they just weren’t quite ready yet. This was clearly a lie. Because after 1 hour in the restaurant he came back to inform us that the lamb that my fiancé had ordered was no longer available. EXCUSEME! We had been here for a hour, which means 1 of two things happened. Our server never put our order in or the more likely scenario was the kitchen lost our ticket. But clearly our server lied about checking on our food because if he had he would have known long before that the lamb was unavailable. They offered my fiancé the filet mignon, which he didn’t necessarily want but he was too hungry to care at that point. What bothered me more than anything else was when the table that was sitting next to us(who had arrived 40 minutes after we did), received their food before us. The exact same order. My halibut and a filet mignon cooked medium! Any person that works in the serviced industry knows that, their food should have come to our table first. They could have waited an extra 7 minutes for food and wouldn’t have noticed anything. We had been waiting for a hour and 15 minutes for food at this point. We ate quickly. My halibut was fine my scallops were rubber. We ordered dessert to go, asked for our check because at that point all I wanted to due was go home. Nothing was taken off our check, a manager never once had come to talk to our table, our server never once apologized for our wait, it was the worst Valentine’s Day I’ve ever had. I work in restaurants I know how hectic Valentine’s Day can be but the fact that our server didn’t ever seem to care was what bothered me most of all. I reached out to the manager and he apologized and offered to send me a gift certificate to come back again(he has yet to send that). Which basically just confirmed the fact that not only do the servers not care about their guests but clearly management and owners clearly don’t either. I had been to this restaurant 2 times previously to the Valentine’s Day debacle but I will never be returning.

I had been waiting for this restaurant to open for a while and wanted to like it as it is around the corner from my apartment. My fiancée and I came for a date night. He ordered a pasta dish and I decided to try the blackberry pizza. I was not a fan of my pizza. However, the biggest issue I have is that when the pasta came out and it was clearly a boxed pasta even though the menu stated that all pasta was freshly made pasta. It also carries a high price tag that would be warranted if it was freshly made. He asked someone as we walked out of the pasta was fresh or boxed and they confirmed it is boxed pasta unless it is the nightly special. I feel this is very deceptive and we will not go back.

We had Mista salads, Margarita Pizza, wine, and chocolate mousse cake. The food was excellent, as was the service and ambiance. This was no ordinary pizzeria greasy standard thick crusted crap. This pizza was actually food. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Italian restaurant with high prices for average food and less than average service. We had dinner at the bar. First problem — the bar is really not designed for eating. The molding is 6 inches wide which means that my food was ~8 inches away and I really had to lean forward so as to not make a mess. Second problem — the bar is in line with the front door and the inner door was propped open which meant that with anyone coming or going we got a blast of cold air. Food — Starters. All starters had cheese so we had to order the Pizza Margherita without cheese. The pizza was delicious but at $ 14 very expensive. Main course — was supposed to come with a mescalin salad which should have come before or at least with the main course but never came until I asked for it when the main course arrived and then it came when we had almost finished the meal. Unimpressed with service. I ordered the Papardelle Aragsta at $ 32. Stodgy and bland and not worth $ 32. I don’t normally add salt but tonight I added salt and never finished my meal. My wife ordered salmon at $ 36 and as this is a staple dish for her she loved it. I tasted it and found it dry. Total cost $ 120 with one cocktail each and a shared starter. So 3 stars because my wife loved it but I found it expensive for a neighborhood Italian with average food.

Our night at Rosina was confusing. First off, the food, especially the pizza, is excellent. Crust was perfectly done with a touch of oil, and the cheese sauce paired well. Clam pasta was tasty as well. What stood out, unfortunately, was the uncoordinated service. We ordered a bread appetizer, only to have free bread for the table brought out at the same time. It also took half an hour for this bread to arrive. After the meal, we took the pizza and bread to go, but the pizza box was given to the wrong table, and we had to ask(again) for our bread to go. Overall, not a pleasant experience even though the food was satisfying.

Charming restaurant with good brick oven pizza. Friendly accommodating staff. Really enjoyed the pizza. Nice thin and crisp crust with sauce and cheese that goes right to the edge. A very tasty pie :-) The cesar salad was very good, it had more of a vinegrette dressing as opposed to traditional cesar. Can’t speak for the rest of the menu as all we had was pizza and salad. The service was a bit slow for our liking as we were on a lunch break. other than that, a very enjoyable meal.

Excellent pizza. Note that the ceasar salad is eggless! Service is disconnected. Three out of four of us ordered salads and pizza. The fourth person ordered an appitizer and entre. His appitizer was served with our pizzas, and his entre appeard after everyone was finished with their pizza. The pizza is excellent though.

You would think this place has been around for decades but is a brand new addition to the upper east side. Locals love it and the staff makes you feel at home. I had the Pizza Margherita and it was super good. If not in the mood for a full meal, hang out at the bar as it is very enjoyable.

While our salads were fine but ordinary, only three of four liked our entrees. My veal piccata was dry and tasteless. The two who ordered chicken parm were disappointed as there was no melted mozzarella on top. The one who ordered the dinner special, osso bucco was happy, but we were never told in advance that that entrée was twice the price of the average of the others. Total surprise. It was excessively warm in the restaurant, and so they opened a window, which meant we had to put on our coats to eat. But the kicker was when we entered with a reservation, they wanted to seat us at the bar so we couldn’t talk. Ultimately, after a heated debate, we were given a table. Won’t be going back for dinner. May try the pizza.

As is the norm these day, I’d wager that all the positive reviews are written by friends of the owner – or they’ve never enjoyed a great Italian restaurant. Olive Garden alumni? The food in Rosina is totally average. The pizza’s not as good as a frozen DiGiorno. The crab cake app I’d rate a three out of ten. The chicken parm – again average.(it’s much better and cheaper in several neighborhood pizzerias) The bar scene is interesting, good bartender(Alex?) on Wednesday night, but the waiter I had was clueless. I asked the couple on my left, and the one on my right how they enjoyed the food. Basically both said they were«underwhelmed». I may go back for a drink, but I don’t think I’ll eat here again in the near future.

The Pizza was fantastic and the create your own pasta is great for kids. Owner Pat and his wife couldn’t be more welcoming. Just what the neighborhood needed. We will definitely be back to try everything.

Rosina is a great addition to the neighborhood! I live across the street and made a last-minute decision to come here instead of the San Gennaro festival because the weather was bad. I have to say, I think the Italian food here is much better than a lot of what you will find in Little Italy! The ambiance is very classy and romantic. Definitely a place to get a little bit dressed up for(although we didn’t realize this and felt a little bit out of place). As for some other people’s comments– I didn’t notice any problem with the temperature, so that seems to have been fixed. I actually really enjoyed the music– it was mostly 90’sish R&B type stuff and it added to the romantic atmosphere. The staff were extremely accomodating and friendly. I found the wine list to be very reasonably-priced. I enjoyed one of the night’s specials– a glass of pinto grigio that was quite good and only $ 9. For food, we ordered the Rosina’s bread, the wood-fired wings, and a calabrese pizza. The bread was great– tons of garlic and a nice crisp to it. Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy the wings as much. We’ve had some great wood fired wings recently and these didn’t stack up. The flavor was a little bit sweeter than I would’ve liked(probably due to the carmelized shallots), but my main gripe is that there was no crispyness and the chicken almost seemed a little undercooked. If you decide to order these, maybe if you ask for them to be well-done that will solve the issue. The pizza, however, was phenomenal. The menu describes that their method of cooking is at 700 degrees and 2 ½ minutes, which makes the crust slightly crispier. I thought this was great because, although I love authentic italian pizzas like the kind they serve at San Matteo, they often seem soggy and undercooked in the middle. This is definitely going to be my new go-to for a great pizza and I can’t wait to work my way through the menu. I’m looking forward to trying the pastas as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend giving Rosina a shot!

Welcome to our neighborhood, Rosina! We’ve all been waiting for you. The food is delicious — I would give it six stars if I could. They still have to iron out a lot of kinks with the service, pricing, up-charges, etc. We hope they figure all of that out, because this is a high-end restaurant in a not-so-high-end area. Therefore, it will be critical for the restaurant to provide an ongoing value to the local patrons, or it will quickly lose its luster and traffic will drop. Good luck guys!

We were sooo excited for the long awaited opening. I want so badly to give 5 stars, but sadly I can’t. Food…5 stars. Service…5 stars. Price point…5 stars. The only reason why I can’t give it a total of 5 stars… its waaaay to hot inside, as another reviewer mentioned! The bar side of the restaurant was the perfect temperature but we were seated on the restaurant side as the bar side was full. We had a pizza and a pasta. The food was excellent and our waitress was super friendly. I will definitely come back here. I just really hope for their sake that they fix the temperature(I’m thinking the 750 degree oven in which they proudly state on the menu that they cook the pizzas in may have something to do with it). The pizza is great, very gourmet, I cant wait to try them all however it was just hard to enjoy bc we were so hot in there! I felt bad for the people working! Other than the temperature, the atmosphere in the restaurant is nice… elegant and cozy. Overall, I recommend this place and I am so happy they finally opened in Yorkville. I just recommend trying to sit on the bar side until they work out the kinks with the temperature! Welcome to Yorkville Rosina! Glad you are here!

We have been waiting for this place to open since we moved into the neighborhood. Great food and service. Five stars for the pizza and three stars for the salad. Will definitely be back!
