Cosmopolitan champagne lounge in NYC with a down-to-earth and friendly feel. It’s like a tucked-away haven that fills up fast with smart, interesting people who could-be-pretentious-but-aren’t. Come alone or with a friend/group. I always leave here happy and never wake up hung over, meaning: Yes, it’s worth what they’re charging.

Really great wine bar. A really well curated selection of delicious(& affordable) Champagnes. The staff was very friendly, knowledgable, & helpful when making selections. We had the meat & cheese plate as well as the caviar. This was a perfect early evening meal. They tend to have really great playlists or records spinning. I would highly recommend checking this place out.

A solid wine/champagne bar. Has records and some good music. Great for lounging and drinking. Kind of a tucked away spot.

Great hidden gem in the village– off the beaten path and a nice change of pace. Definitely a great spot for wine lovers!

The Riddling Widow is a place for champagne lovers. Greg offered some educated suggestions and we had a great time. The bar is extremely small, but the selection is varied and has something for everyone. The pepitas are delicious and the music is on point. Go there now — or don’t — and leave room for us.

Leave it to NYC to have an underground champagne bar. Flowing with bubbly, red ceilings, dim lighting… this intimate, cozy spot near Macdougal Square practically screams«date place». It opened in the fall and was fairly empty on a Thursday evening when my friend and I tried it out. Located underneath the Bourgeois Pig, it can be hard to spot other than a small sign outside the entrance. I anticipate it getting busier as more people discover it in the coming months. It seats about 30 people with bar seating around the circumference and one couch. As with many bars in the city, be prepared to be close to your neighbor. Rather than purse hooks, there were slots similar to cubby holes underneath the bar– a genius idea for people like me who are toting around laptops after work. The menu focuses on champagne and sparkling wines but there is a decent selection of reds, whites, and a few beers. They rotate the bottles a couple times a week and include selections from local vineyards. Glasses range from $ 10-$ 17 and bottles start at $ 40. I tried a sparkling wine from the Finger Lakes, which was delightful! A dry yet refreshing glass with Chardonnay and Pinot Gris grapes. The manager/server was great and gladly provided recommendations based on your palate. There are currently four items on the food menu– popcorn, pepitas, a cheese board, and veggie chips. My friend and I opted for the warm veggie chips with spiced aioli and the cheese board. The chips are root veggies that are flash fried(similar to the Terra chip brand) and include a mix of sweet potato, beets, taro, and potato. The aioli had just the right amount of kick to balance the chips. For $ 18, the cheese board comes with three selections, a generous bowl of crostini, dried fruit, two sea salts, and a smear of honey on the cheese slate. We had a young manchego, gouda-esque cheese(I think I invented a new word), and nutty blue cheese that was delightful. We ended up asking for more bread at no charge to make the delicious cheese last longer… and because I consume copious amounts of bread. Split between two people, the amount and price was very reasonable. It was a relaxing and delicious experience overall and I recommend getting in on the Riddling Widow before everyone else does!

Good wine selection, however no specially priced bottles. Bottles were just 4x the amount per glass. Plus, we ordered the $ 6 popcorn only to learn it was microwaved, super dry, and burnt. :(

First review! This place is brand new. Focus is on sparkling wines. At time of writing, by the glass, they have 3 Champagnes, a bunch from other parts of France, a Prosecco and one from upstate(!) About 20 by the bottle. And then some flat whites, reds and beer. Food is coming soon and will be salty snacks like cheese and oysters. Both my sparklings were delicious and Tanner, the«beverage guy» was very helpful and knowledgable. The setting is veeery cute and romantic. Small room with mood lighting and funky jams. Great for dates. Get here before word gets out and you can’t get a seat.
