Reservoir Bar

Bartender acted with a stuck up barista attitude on sunday. Um say hi and how can I help you not a head nod. Drunken patrons were spilling drinks on purpose on bar. They continued to get served more alcohol stunningly (must give good drink tips). Very uncomfortable. Was asked what I ordered and my name twice which is rare for me.
Nothing special and won’t be back.

Solid little dive bar in area with basically no others. Friendly staff, cold beer, affordable drinks, open late, greasy food, games on the TVs — simple formula and it works. Much improved from years past.

Stopped in for 2 beers. Cute. Nothing out of the ordinary. They were very light with the grenadine (my signature Draya beer drink) to my liking but cant complain and i would go back.

Chill dive bar with TVs and a happy hour special, no complaints.
We got together here with a group of 8 people for a drink on a Wednesday night and there was plenty of room. It’s long and narrow toward front but opens up a little toward back.

This is my Lonely Island bar. They play great music with a juke box so you can even change it if you like. Kyle is the best bartender. Also Adam is cool. Divey, yet inviting vibe. They have the and play sports. Football. Tennis. Hockey. Golf.

With its proximity to Regal Cinemas, Reservoir is the perfect place to pick up a post movie beverage (depending on how good or bad the movie was). There is a huge selection of draft and bottle beers. Plus the prices of beer are pretty standard. .. for the area. The food mainly is of pub fair (wings, fries, tator tots, burgers, etc.).

Bartenders are the worst here. Horrible service. Every time I tried to order something the bartenders acted like I was bothering them. Hated the trip, don’t come here.
This was supposed to be a steelers bar and I’m from Pittsburgh, totally not how we treat people. Don’t do it.

We waited and waited and waited. The bartender never even looked up to ask us if we wanted a drink. Door man was nice. How do you give minus stars to this place!

Solid place to go after work. But I like gimlets and they said they don’t have simple syrup. It’s sugar dissolved in water… really?!

This place is okay. Kinda grungy and divey, but nothing wrong with that. It’s a good place for throwing back a couple of beers and the food is decent if you are hungry. No more, no less.

I walk in now and then for a beer and for that this place works! That’s all that you need sometimes…

Sometimes your day isn’t going your way. Work was long. You stay late. You realize there’s someone else’s vomit on your clothing. You know, it’s one of those days. Then you realize, it’s FRIDAY!
That was me last weekend. I had no energy or desire for happy hour, I just wanted to crash. Not sleep, actually crash into my bed and lay there. Once again, not sleep. Just lay there, in fetal position, and cry like a baby. Once you get up, you shower and change. Finally you’re ready to hit the town.
Upon getting into Manhattan, I was still a bit away from my friends who already started the evening. I didn’t have time for that. I needed a drink, now! So we went to the closest place Unilocal told me to go. Welcome to Reservoir Bar. This place is a diamond in the rough. Thank you Unilocal!
The place has an old school charm that is rare in the city these days. Came in and there were tons of flat screens up on the walls. The only negative was it let me watch my Mets. Damn those Mets. A bit of a rustic look for the décor.
So what was this, a sports bar? A restaurant? It’s a bit of both. We grabbed a seat in the back, and ordered up some grub. Nothing says hello to the weekend like a turkey club and a fat cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was one of the bigger ones I’ve had in a while, pretty good stuff. That turkey club though was phenomenal, one of the best. Saw their menu on the wall. It’s filled with lots of other good sounding things I’d like to get myself into. Some of those wings sound great to have if you came here to watch a game.
I noticed while I was sitting down they had a picture of Neil O’Donnell up on the wall. Former Steelers/​Jets QB. When I switched to the bar, I asked about it. The bartender told me how it’s a Steelers bar. I guess I should have noticed the giant sign. He told me how O’Donnell came in for a Steelers playoff game, drank like a mad man in the first half, and then started serving the whole place in the second half. Funny stuff. The bartenders were real chill and friendly.
After finally catching my breathe and getting the work week off my mind, I was able to leave. Not before taking note of how awesome this place was. I was totally caught off guard.
Thank you Reservoir Bar, you brought me back to life. I’ll be sure to come back, catch a game and try more stuff of that menu!

We went on a Friday night, the music was great, apparently just an ipod playlist. But great selection of everything, really, it would just change from one type to another.
Bartender was friendly, she didn’t get upset about having a drink change.

NEVER AGAIN!
I’m sad to say Reservoir has been sold. I’ve been a loyal customer of this Greenwich Village establishment since the early 90s.
The new owner immediately made modifications in order to lower his cost, raise prices; in return lowered the quality of the food and the experience of being there.
A group of 5 who we sat next to me. All
said; they’re disappointed with the food and service. In addition, they mentioned all plan never to go back to Reservoir again. The group of 5 noted, they have been going to Reservoir with their friends and family for over 10 years.
Reservoir’s signature and famous steak sandwich on garlic bread has been completely altered. Very cheap chewy meat with a foul oder kick to it. Most of their new waitress have broken english and a robotic personality.
I am done with this place.

If you don’t mind wading through 6 inches of urine in the men’s room and don’t mind your Guiness tasting closer to what was on that bathroom floor than how a real Guiness should taste, then this is the place for you! I actually puked after drinking here, and I only had 3 total drinks that night over a 2 hour period, and my other two drinks were high quality wines at a classy joint, so I think it was Reservoir’s Guinesss. I’m pretty sure they either don’t wash their glasses well or don’t clean or change their tap lines appropriately, because that guiness tasted WRONG, and I’m convinced that’s what made my stomach forcefully turn inside out two hours after I left.
The two redeeming qualities are that the waitress was excellent, remembered everyone’s orders, and had a good attitude in spite of likely spending most of her time putting up with obnoxious drunks, and the prices on the drinks were very reasonable, but that doesn’t redeem the atrocious quality of the drinks and the filthiness of this armpit. Spend an extra dollar per drink going somewhere else that isn’t a cholera outbreak waiting to happen and you won’t regret it.

A group of us came to Reservoir Bar on Sunday around 2pm for Sunday Football. The bar wasn’t very crowded. We got pitchers and bar food, including wings, waffle fries, and onion rings. Nothing to elaborate on the drinks (just your standard beer), so the review will be mostly about the food and the atmosphere.
We ordered basket of wings served with blue cheese dip, celery, and carrots. We chose buffalo, terriyaki, and honey garlic. My favorite was the terriyaki, although it had a bit of too strong soy-​sauce after taste. The honey garlic was my least favorite — the sauce was lacking in flavors and tasted rather bland. The Waffle Fries and Battered Onion Rings were both crispy and fried well. The onion rings were thick and the batter was flavorful. I did feel like I got zits on my face after eating all the fried food though.
The crowd wasn’t very rowdy, and the bar itself wasn’t overly loud either. Definitely a place where you can sit and talk with the people in your group and still hear the conversation.

Not sure if they were short staffed for a fri nite or what, but it was sometimes difficult to get the bartender’s attention. We made it work though we had a pretty ok time. Good music was playing.

There are so many better options than this place in the area. Based on my experience last night with our waitress and the food I ordered, I’m a little confused how this place stays in business. My friend had been here a couple times and knew it was a solid spot for an extremely cheap meal. The only thing I liked about this place is how cheap the drinks and food is. They offer your typical bar menu consisting of burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc.
I decided to go with their Cajun shrimp special for the night. Obviously I wasn’t expecting it to be out of this world, but the shrimp were seasoned so strong, that they were literally not edible. I felt my cholesterol rising as I bit into each salt bomb. Ended up just eating the spinach salad under it and leaving the shrimp.
The major reason why I am leaving a 1 star review is due to the way our waitress handled a problem my friend had with one of his dishes. I’d rather not go into detail but she didn’t even apologize and was immature about the whole situation. After that happened, she ignored us till she brought the check (which contained the dish that she said she would take care of). At that point, we didn’t even bother to get it fixed.
I guess it’s a decent dive bar to grab some cheap drinks and watch the game, but I wouldn’t recommend eating here. There are plenty of other sports bars around that actually know how to treat their customers.

Words cannot even describe how bomb this place is!
Freaking 20 chicken wings for less than $ 9! you will never get this in NYC. I suggest the buffalo wings (HOT!, only if you have good tolerance). To me it wasn’t too spicy, but to many it maybe. The honey garlic was ok… It was tasteful in terms of the honey, but I didn’t really taste the garlic part.
DO NOT BE FOOLED by the string fries. I thought this was some new extra skinny fries, but no… its like your typical fast food french fries from McD or burger king. However the WAFFLE fries are a MUST! so yummy and for a big basket for $ 4, can’t go wrong. YUM
The sliders:
Love, Love, Love the bun on these little bites. Its nice and juicy and a little bigger than other sliders I have so at least you get some more bang for your buck.
This place is a great place to get your chicken wing fix on!

Chill atmosphere + chill crowd + chill bartenders = chill bar. Follow the math? Good.
I like this bar a lot for a casual drink with a friend and/​or to watch whatever sporting event is on. I have been several times and there always seems to be some drink or food special going on which my wallet tends to be attracted to.
Food I’ve had here has been really good for bar food and I would not hesitate to grab a bite here whenever.
I’m not very picky with beer so I pretty much go with whatever might be on special depending on what mood I’m in. This fact makes me abstain from any comment on the quality of beer offered, but it looks like they have an average selection.
Would I go back? Definitely, but I have a hard time giving a place like this more than about 3 stars.
