Bento Boxes FTW! If you’re in the area, and looking for a good filling lunch, this is it. I’d definitely recommend going for the bento boxes here as they give you a lot for what you pay. You get the order itself, a sushi roll, salad, shumai, and a separate side of soup/salad all for around 11 bucks. Where else are you going to find that value in this area?

I love coming here for sushi. Great lunch special in my opinion. On the ground floor of a hotel, separate from the lobby/check in. Not a huge space, nicely lit and decorated, not too loud. I’d come here for a lunch with coworker’s, maybe not for business though. Service can be slow at times, but I haven’t had any problems when I’ve come here. I’ve also ordered seamless takeout from here and I was satisfied.

This place is a good option if you’re looking for a traditional sushi roll for a decent price, but In an upscale environment. Located in the back of a hotel, this place is a hidden gem. FYI tip is included in your bill as a service charge. Not a bad choice for sushi.

Loved this little gem tucked away in the Night Hotel where I was staying. The service was amazing. Loved my waitress Leena. We ordered the beef negimaki, tuna tartar, and shrimp tempura. The food was so good we had lunch there the next day. The sushi and green curry were equally as good as the night before. The lunch specials were so reasonable it was crazy. Went back our last night just to have drinks. Overall experience was really wonderful.

I think that it is a hidden gem in this area. Decent Sushi for a price lower than what many of the food carts charge in this area. Sushi rolls are pretty good and I found the green curry to be pretty good as well. Prices are great, ambiance is very nice and it is rarely packed. On the downside, the seating looks good, but is extremely uncomfortable for eating… better suited for lounging back on. Service quality is variable as well… sometimes very good… sometimes rather brusque, but nothing too bad

This place by far the WORST experience i have ever encountered. Not only was our food raw, the waitress were not professional at all. Too busy taking selfies. Food was small and she never came back with our spoons even though she was just a few feet from us. Do not let this place ruin your experience in New York. Please save your money and time. This place deserves NO stars. One star because it was required.

This place is so not worth it. I ordred some basil chicken lunch special and 2 sushi rolls. Spicy tuna and salmon avacodo. The rice was gross that came with the basil chicken. Threw it out. First of all I asked for brown Rice not white rice and second it was dried out. The basil chicken was lik e

Came here for a friend’s birthday party and will never come back. The only thing I liked about this place was that they allowed my friend to use her own music. Staff was very rude and had an attitude. Drinks were overpriced and weak. They added $ 3 service fee for a $ 14 jack and ginger. Didn’t get to try the food as they closed the kitchen already. Even though someone got food later by «begging», which I thought was unfair. I heard the sushi was nothing to rave about from friends. Plenty of other places in the area with better service to spend my money.

This place has a nice ambiance but the service was horrible. Omg never brought our sushi, mixed up our orders. Bad thing it was only 4 of us, and the place was empty smh. I only gave them a one because the waitress was very nice.

Not for dining. If you want cigarette smoke in the non-smoking area, this is the place. I requested to be moved because of my pregnant wife and one of the servers was rude and refused, stating that’s it’s not any better where we wanted to move. From the looks of the place, I wouldn’t recommend it for happy hour either.

While staying in Manhattan, we decided to go to Red Moon due to the proximity to our hotel. We ordered 4 rolls of sushi. The rolls were quite dry, had too much rice, and tasted average or below average to me. The service was great, and the restaurant has a nice ambiance, but the food was very disappointing. Top that off with the fact that our 4 mediocre sushi rolls cost us $ 85 out the door, and we were even more disappointed.

The wife and I were looking for some sushi and decided to give this place a shot. Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was crude art, which is awkward for a place to eat. Then once seated, I was in the most uncomfortable half booth of all time. The table felt so high because of how low the seats were. I am not going to pay, to feel uncomfortable. We simply got up and left without ever ordering. For what it’s worth, the hostess was very polite.

Figured I would try a new sushi place for lunch, and boy was this ever so the WRONGTHINGTODO… I order the lunch special 3 rolls for $ 11 with a miso soup and it was average for eel, shrimp tempura and a mushroom roll. Hours later things were all messed up! I ended up with food poisoning from the above and it was the worst 24 hours of my LIFE!!! Soo yea I will be staying FARAWAY from this place… and I suggest you do as well!

Total disappointment and waist of money! Service was, well… there really was a lack of service. Our«waitress» seemed more interested in «chatting it up» with other employees or friends, than she did tending to her only 3 tables in the restaurant. As for the food… pretty mediocre. First, there was ‘limited descriptions’ of the specialty rolls on the menu. When we asked for clarification, our waitress gave an explanation that turned out to be… wrong! And the rolls we decided on were lame. One was missing it’s salmon«topping» on most slices. Another(vegetable tempura) was cold, mushy and the veggies were… unidentifiable! In NYC, you should skip this place and go to one of 1000 other… and better… sushi bars!

Finding a cheap sushi in Midtown is as guaranteed as the Knicks clinching a playoff spot, sadly. That being said, Red Moon tilts the scale ever so slightly in the former’s favor. Overall, Red Moon serves decent sushi — taking into consideration the price. Their $ 10 lunch special includes two rolls and a choice of either soup or salad. But the good thing(and why I am giving 3 stars) is that they use ACTUAL salmon in their spicy salmon, not that fake tempura filler shiet other places use. Their rolls though are TINY. Microscopic. I was astonished when I opened up the container. More like sushi for my ant farm, which is why I was still hungry after finishing my meal. …blah. Still on the hunt for the best sushi place in Midtown.

I will never go here again. This place was recommended to us by a local hotel. The food was fine but the service was horrible. Also, they did not understand ordering a bottle of wine… we think they went across the street and bought it at Duane Reade. We did not even get to pick a kind — it was white or red. Next when we were handed our bill they told us the cc machine was broken. This was bad since I was the only one with cash. They are part of a hotel so you think they could figure it out. Worst of all, we asked for a solution and the server never came back to our table. On top of that for three of us, they automatically added a high gratuity. Unacceptable. We even reported back to the hotel to never recommend this place.

Food is good. The prize dish was the salmon tuna tar tar. Tempura was covered in a mayo sauce which was a surprise but good. Down side is there is a smoking room in the back which lets in cold(in winter) and smoke into the restaurant– if you are sensitive to such things. Great cocktails.
