I absolutely love their soondubu tofu stew! For $ 9.95, it tastes so much better than other Korean Restaurant. Not as great as BCD, but good enough for lunch if you work close by. I also tried their Udon and again, loved it as well. The noodle is cooked to perfection; not too soft nor too chewy. Their soup base is bomb. I wish I discovered this place sooner. They also have a huge salad selection, sandwich and hot plates which you pay by per pound(typical in the city).

Freshday Deli made my lunch today happy. I ordered through Seamless — a large chopped salad with hard-boiled egg, avocado, cashews, sundried tomatoes, tofu, and cheddar cheese. The salad was a generous size, well-dressed, and the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. I will definitely be re-ordering.

Stopped for breakfast and found a friendly staff in a clean, huge restaurant with a bunch of options. We grabbed three bagels with cream cheese, coffee and a juice for $ 10ish. The bagels were fresh and the cream cheese was very generously spread. The peppers cream cheese was the best of all and worth the extra .30 cents or so. Coffee was decent and is a self serve kinda set up. Good for if you’re close to the TODAY Show /Rockefeller and you don’t wanna hit the slammed and kinda expensive Bouchon Bakery.

The food is on and off at Freshday Deli. It’s your traditional deli/midtown lunch spot with a wide variety of selections for all meals(breakfast/lunch). There is a sandwich counter, salad bar, pay-by-the-weight buffet, and Asian/Korean hot items like udon, soft tofu soup, and bibimbap. I have tried the Teok Manduguk(dumpling soup with sliced rice cake) and the Stir Fry with Pad Thai noodles + Pad Thai sauce(other noodle options include japchae, or glass noodles, udon, and soba). I loved the Teok Manduguk, but hated the«Pad Thai.» The Teok Manduguk had pieces of chewy sliced rice cake with dumplings(they were overcooked and falling apart…) and scallions in beef broth soup. It tasted similar to the soup that my mom makes, so I really enjoyed it. It was a HUGE mistake to get the«Pad Thai» from a non-Thai restaurant. It certainly did NOT taste like Pad Thai(not even close…), but the noodles weren’t authentic pad thai noodles, the sauce tasted like soy sauce, and the ingredients tasted fake overall. Never get the pad thai from here!

Noodle soups are very good. Salad bar is also very good, although smaller than some of the other places in the area.

the food at the noodle station is where i always find myself for lunch. a solid 4 stars. i’ve been here enough times to merit a review. the noodles i’ve had were all with beef and was all tasty. the japchae was super greasy though. the phở is a good attempt but definitely not close to the real deal. also had the rice bowl which was good as well, rice a little on the dry side. udon is good they don’t make it too mushy here. the price is not bad as well compared with the other korean place — kimchi. theres also seating on a small second level here. have yet to try out the hot section and all the other sections in here.

Tofu Udon Soup is amazing. Fairly priced, fresh and made to order. I come here at least 2x a week for it! The noodles aren’t hard and they’re not soggy. The broth is spot on. I also love the selection of vegetables they have to put in the soup!

Amazing Japchae for $ 8.95! I having been coming here again and again to get their Japchae(Korean glass noodle) with soy garlic sauce. There are many other options available, Udon, Ramen and Phở.(I have also tried the Phở, it was alright, I wouldn’t come here for the Phở again.) There are also buffet and chopped salad at this place I haven’t tried, but the salad always has a line, so I assume it’s good.

I’ve been coming here regularly for lunch for the past three weeks because I’ve become addicted to japchae. Help. It’s made somewhat fresh; the noodles and other ingredients get stir-fried together after you order, so they’re served piping hot! The first time I got it with bulgogi, and there was a lot of meat in there but it wasn’t so tender so now I just get it meatless with extra veggies. A vast improvement imo. Portions are quite hefty and I always end up full. I’ve also gotten the chicken phở, which was pretty decent for takeout, though it was awkward to eat out of a tall container.(Plus Styrofoam packaging is the worst, if you care about that kind of stuff.) The ramen they serve is, yes, instant ramen, but sometimes all I want is a hot bowl of the cheap stuff, so what can I do? I’m not making it myself in the office microwave. Anyway, the«ramen» here is fine. It’s pictured with a egg on top but mine didn’t come with one. My biggest complaint is that it’s served way too hot, so it was impossible to eat the noodles + soup at the same time.

The people who work here are horrible. They are not happy to be serving people who come in for lunch. A simple smile, saying thank you, these are universal traits that cost nothing. The food I ordered already tastes bad due to the experience. Do not come here. Plenty of alternatives on the block

Awesome lunch option for Asian food, especially Korean food! — a complete Korean hot food selection — seafood soodobu is amazing! — a complete selection for Asian noodle soup: phở, soba, udon… — Asian lunch buffet — Thai option: pad Thai too. Definitely recommend to give it a try!

Ignore everything but the Korean guy to the back and the right. The guy working there during lunch is the cook at Hell’s Chicken on 10th Ave and he usually wears the shirt for it. He is a good Korean cook and portions are enormous for about $ 8 – 10. Each meal comes with two side dishes, usually bean sprouts and soup. I suggest budaechigae(Korean army stew, not on the menu) and whatever specials are pasted up on the wall(a cabbage soup they had a while back was really, really good.)

My go to deli for lunch when I’m at work. Main draw is the Korean food stand at the back. Wide variety of Korean entrees and decent for about $ 10-$ 12. Although one day a light bulb or something loud popped over the kitchen. I peered over the glass barrier and noticed gooey black particles all over the plastic containers. I’m surprised they didn’t throw some of the food away or clean the plastic to go containers. Dude just kept working and serving away. Kinda grossed me out since I’m pretty sure some particles fell in the food. My soup looked clean so I just ate it anyway. Who knows about the guys behind me.

My boyf and I stopped by for lunch. We both got sandwiches. The guy behind the counter was really grumpy and messed up our orders. We asked for deluxe sandwich orders which means we get fries and lettuce and tomato. After he made only our sandwiches, we said we had ordered deluxe. He said there was no deluxe option(even though it was on the menu) and then when we asked abt the additional $ 3 charge for the sandwiches, he said it was for lettuce, tomato and cheese. He didn’t tell us there would be a charge for that as those items normally come with a sandwich. He wasn’t very friendly to the other customers either. The girl at the register was nice but couldn’t really do anything abt the pricing or service we received. There is upstairs seating which is convenient although not very clean. Bathroom was decent. There’s another deli a few doors down which had a lot more food options and packed with customers– really wished we had gone there instead.

I come here often for the vegetable udon which is consistently tasty and chock full if vegetables. I would give it 4 stars based on the udon alone. The hot food bar is sad compared to Hop Won and Deli 48 next door. But they do have a good noodle bar. That being said, since I hadn’t seen a review for the phở they offer, I decided to try it for the sake of Unilocal. If I had to rate it on phở alone I’d knock it down two stars. Given the lack of good phở options in midtown, the soup is barely passable which is still better than some other places that make phở up here. Also what did you expect from a deli? The soup was slightly beefy and had an onion flavor but was overwhelmed by the jalapeño peppers that were added. The soup comes with bean sprouts, onion, cilantro, and jalapeño. The udon is a much better deal for vegetable variety. The guy making my phở gave me a nasty look for asking him to put spinach into my phở that scared me from asking for other vegetables. Tl;Dr get the udon, not phở.

Just another deli, slightly cleaner. The food is fresh but nothing impressive. They keep selection small to maintain freshness. I got the soodongboo, beef… might as well call it large chunks of stuff tofu soup…

If you’re looking to get your salad tossed… look no further. I love getting my salad tossed and this place does it right. They offer a ton of toppings and dressings(the only things not offered are syrup or jelly). If you’re feeling adventurous… go Greek(you can even add grape leaves to your tossed salad). Feel free to encourage the salad tosser by yelling«TOSSTHATSALAD!»(in your best Chris Rock voice) while he’s busy tossing.

YES. We were fresh off a bus to the city, and needed dinner and to kill time before our show. Didn’t want a chain, didn’t want something too over-priced or gimicky, and for this area thats basically not possible. Wanted as low-key as we could get. And thats exactly what this place is. We stopped in for a pack of smokes, I believe, not realizing this place served food. Whats that, a deli that makes sandwiches? A hot buffet with asian-style foods? A wall of every prepackaged snack possible? Beer and wine? A seating area upstairs?! We all found foods we wanted(and being vegan, I was delighted to find a roasted kale with nutritional yeast snack-pack!) and figured why not have a bottle of wine too. Our cashier opened the bottle for us, and gave us foam cups — classy! We sit upstairs, and feast among a lovely assortment of other customers: A table of NYC police officers, filling out reports over coffee. A table of stereotypical nerds playing D&D with d20 flying around. A table of middle-aged hispanic men with about fifty empty coronas on their table. A few small groups of travelers. This is a slice of that New York City experience, and we couldn’t have been happier.
