4.5 stars. Few options, menu with pictures, easy to choose. Been here a few times, always a good experience. Small place with open kitchen. Love the ramen with no broth. Service is fast and it’s cash only.

Love the chicken ramen and my daughter loves the pork ramen. Service is mostly super friendly, especially Shiaki(not correct spelling)., who recognizes us and makes us feel welcome. Place is cozy and very popular so be ready to wait on the weekends.

3.25 to be exact. Coming into Ramen Yebishu they really do a good job with their ambiance. I really like how the interior looks as they utilize their space wisely. I came here with a group and we shared a bunch of appetizers that included the fried dumplings, edamame, and pork buns. The fried dumplings and edamame were average, with the best appetizer being the pork buns. I have definitely had better pork buns but they are not bad here. They give you the dish with the bread separate from the pork, egg, and sauce so you put it together yourself. Do not try to take too much pork for yourself and shaft the person who is having the other bun! As for the main course, I would come here if I was craving a bowl of their Spicy Abura Soba, That is the one dish I really enjoyed here! I liked the spiciness in this dish and it definitely added to the flavor. I was able to try some of my friends’ bowls, the Shoyu and Shio ramens and thought they were just average. The broth was not as flavorful as I expected but I would not mind having it. However, like I mentioned, if you do not mind brothless ramen and some spice, get the Spicy Abura Soba. FYI: This place is cash only but at least they have an ATM at the entrance!

Came here on the first day it snowed in the city. This place is really cute and clean. There’s bar seating where you can watch the chefs put the ramen together, but there is also table seating. I got the shoyu ramen and my friend got the miso(we both added an egg too). The shoyu was very clean, but kinda of lacked flavor. My friend’s miso was very good and had more flavor and dimension. I really wanted to try the Aruba, but it was so cold out I wanted something with broth, maybe next time I’m in the area! *Cash only(they have an atm machine by the entrance)

yuuummmmmmmmmmm! Always amazing. Friendly staff recognizes me when I come in with my boyfriend & they already know what I’m going to order. Only downside is it’s cash only! I would eat here everyday if I could.

I can’t believe we lived around the corner for over a year and just tried Ramen Yebisu for the first time this past weekend. The place is super cute and brings me back to the old Ria Ria Ken days in their original location. The place is not huge but it’s warm and cozy and it was such a nice visit especially when was cold and snowing outside. The menu isn’t huge but you have a good diversified list of ramen. What’s great is that they offer a soup — less ramen that my husband tends to order as he’s not a big soup ramen person. We sat at the counter and got to see the kitchen staff at work. It looks like the gyoza is fresh made in house; I saw the guy making it from scratch so that’s something we’d probably try next time. The service wasn’t great and that’s the only complaint I have, the service was a bit slow and we really had to try to grab the waitress attention for ordering and check.

I live in NYC but discovered this ramen spot about a year ago when I had a work project on North 6th. I came in here for lunch quite frequently, particularly during those frigid winter days in 2015. I liked the restaurant because I was always easily able to find a spot with space around me and some peace and quiet to thaw out. I have tried a few of their ramens, both salt and soy based, and they never disappointed. The portions are perfect where you can get full without feeling overly stuffed, and there are plenty of noodles in the tasty broth. They have an all-day happy hour and you can grab a sapporo for $ 3 which is pretty awesome, particularly if you’re stopping in for a later lunch at the end of your work day, or just celebrating Friday with some colleagues. :) I also like the large wooden spoons they serve in the bowls — very japaense and authentic feeling. Staff is also very friendly and accommodating. My design project in the area has since finished, but I’m looking forward to hoping on that L for my ramen yebisu fix some time soon. Heads up — cash only!

Nice little place. Liked the staff. Ramen was good, but I would have liked some additional ingredients to complement the bamboo, pork and onion. Would definitely come back if I lived in the area!

Yebisu is my spot for ramen. To be fair, I am not a ramen guru, and I am also a vegetarian, so the only thing on their menu I vouch for is the veggie miso ramen. That being said, I could live off the miso ramen forever. Having ramen from Yebisu on a harsh winter day will give you life. The service is how I like it: attentive and quick, but not hovering or doting. I have never had an issue with the service –my ramen has always been brought out within 10 minutes of ordering, water glasses filled, servers are friendly and prompt. They don’t take appointments and it’s a small place, so if you intend to go on a busy night or with a large group of people, that’s something to keep in mind. Menu is a little pricey, but portion sizes are enormous. Also, cash only! If you forget, they have an ATM on site. I have never been chased down the street by a server as other reviews indicate, but as a former waitress myself, I am prone to always over-tipping.

I come to Yebisu a lot — it’s the closest good ramen place to where I live. Service is always good when we come here, I’ve not experienced any rudeness or slowness like what I’ve read below. It’s efficient seating and service, and water is refilled as needed. For me, the Miso Ramen is the way to go at Yebisu. The broth has a really great umami flavor, the rest of the ingredients are well balanced. Make sure to get it with the egg, which is consistently cooked to the correct level of gooeyness. The other ramen I’ve tasted there(Shio and Yebisu) were interesting, but not really to my taste. But the Miso ramen is worth the trip every single time.

WOW. Never have i had an experience like at this restaurant… i probably wouldnt even be leaving this review as i dont ever care to leave Unilocal reviews. but never in my whole LIFE have i experienced what happened here, I HADTOSHARETHISEXPERIENCE for all to read… came here a month ago. first of all place was pretty busy for a saturday morning, several people who walked in after us were seated before us. no problem, it happens. took about 20 minutes to get order placed, meanwhile everyone who arrived after us already had food served… this is a no no and a good reason to leave less of a tip. food was cool. cute place. but the fact that we had to ask the hostess if we could place our order after waiting so long was a turn off and we didnt feel like they deserved the greatest tip for that. for what? so we left a small tip and bounced. only to have the hostess run after us down the street. we were so embarrassed, we thought maybe we didnt pay the whole check. she said we left less than 5% tip and asked if there was a reason why. we told her, ‘well you guys took forever to even take our order, meanwhile customers who came in after us already were eating’ she looked at us puzzled and said” thats it?“ we all gave her a blank stare… yes. thats it. and walked off. we couldnt help but laugh in shock for like 30 minutes… who does that!!! no one is ever entitled to a tip. bye felicia! to read that other customers have shared this experience is just shocking… this place is one in a million. DONOTGOHERE. and dont bother apologizing for the terrible experience. just fire whoever thought it was ok to chase customers and press them for a tip.

Ramen Yebisu has been on my to-do list for quite some time ever since I saw it featured on some NYC ramen best-of list. I ended up ordering the shoyu ramen, which according to the menu was Michelin 2014’s pick for best shoyu. It was good, but had some faults. The roast pork was bland and the broth was a little too watery, even for shoyu. Noodles were nice and springy though. Went well with a nice Orion. Keep in mind that it’s cash only! Good thing everything’s pretty cheap.

Despite the lukewarm reviews, I actually really enjoyed this place! The waiters were very friendly and recommended items to us, allowed us to customize and substitute things in the ramen, and the service was generally great! I usually like tonkatsu pork broth, but the extra spicy ramen here was a clear soy broth which I actually really enjoyed! It wasn’t the super traditional type of ramen that you have at some of the more well known Manhattan ramen joints, but having had my fair share of ramen, I still really enjoyed it!

Walked into Yebisu on Monday evening during a heat wave. WHYISTHERENOAIRCONDITIONING. If I knew ahead of time I would NOT come here. Are they serious? Don’t be cheap, TURNONTHEAIRCONDITIONING! WTF! I wanted to leave but I really didn’t have much time before I had to go to a concert. Where am I going to get a meal in less than half an hour?! So I just beared with the 90+ degree weather at a ramen joint in Brooklyn. I got the Shoyu ramen. I realized that it is really difficult to enjoy ramen when it feels like 90+ degrees inside a ramen joint. It doesn’t matter if I ordered hot or cold ramen, it’s hot in Yebisu and not in a good way. I opted to add a poached egg, +$ 2 to the Shoyu ramen because if I didn’t, it doesn’t have much in the ramen itself. The Shoyu ramen is served in a soy sauce based soup with a thin piece of roasted pork, bamboo shoots, scallion and a sheet of toasted seaweed. I don’t like scallions at all so I asked them to omit it. There is nothing in this ramen. They are skimpy with the meat portion. The pork actually was delicious, moist and I wanted more. And the soup didn’t even really have that much ramen noodles. Maybe it was the unbearably hot conditions in the restaurant that was putting me in a bad mood. I don’t know but I didn’t enjoy the ramen. Are they skimping on the air conditioning and the portions too!!! Come on, give me a break here! TURNONTHEAIRCONDITIONING and throw mama a bone here… one to two more slices of pork for the price you’re charging for ramen, since the pork is so thin and include at least half an egg. Wow… please. If not, I can’t recommend this place.

My friend had never had ramen, so I brought her here remembering I passed by on my way to Sea a couple nites before. Very important to know, they only take cash. The menu is pretty small. We ordered gyoza and two miso ramens. I thought it was ridiculous that the ramen doesn’t come with an egg, and will cost $ 2 to add one. I mean, $ 13 for a small bowl of ramen, and they can’t throw in an egg??? The ramen was so-so. Came with a mini soup ladle for a spoon which was odd. Gyoza was pretty good. Overall just ok.

This is the only ramen place I know of in the direct Williamsburg area and it was good! Not the very best ramen I’ve had, but whenever I’m craving ramen this is where I would go(if I wasn’t in the city and lounging at home). I got the miso ramen and my friend got the shio. Wish they added more toppings to it, but overall it was A-OK.

Ramen Yebisu has been on my «to do» list for quite a while. Back on Valentine’s Day 2014, the beau and I ate at Baoburg, and Ramen Yebisu is right next door.(If I recall correctly, they even share a common bathroom!) One evening, I was going to meet a friend for Classic Simpsons Trivia Night at Berry Park. It was 6:30 when I got to Williamsburg. We were supposed to meet at 7, but he got held at work and couldn’t make it until 8. Hmmmmm. Okay. I was thinking of dinner options that were easy for one, and I thought, «Hey! Ramen Yebisu!» It was a trifle crowded at that 6:30 hour, but as a party of one, I was quickly able to seat up at the window counter overlooking North 6th Street. Perusing the menu, I opted for the simple(Michelin approved!) Shoyo Ramen with an extra egg. In general, I’m a fan of the tonkotsu broth in all of its glorious silkiness. This broth was crystal clear, flecked with shiny bubbles of oil, surprisingly seafood-based(I found out later), which I couldn’t really tell.(That’s a good thing. Haha.) They served thicker wavy noodles, akin to a Sapporo-style. The egg they served along side was on fleek, as the kids say.(They still say that… yes?) I am very particular about my egg yolks. Anything runny I find to be disgusting. I love my eggs hardboiled. In ramen, I love a great gel-like yolk. This egg in my ramen boasted the epitome of that perfect gel-like yolk. WOW. The service was quick and friendly, despite how busy it became the longer I stayed.(Though, admittedly, I think I was there for about 25 minutes start to finish.) I’m not sure of the ramen scene in Williamsburg, but this is definitely the only place I know of. It’s solid and satisfying.

I’ve eaten here a couple times and I quite like it! The miso ramen and the spicy abura soba, especially. The ramen is perfect, chewy, not overcooked. The broth is rich with depth to its flavor. The pan fried gyoza is also great(and beautifully presented) if you have room. Downside is that it’s cash only, but there’s an ATM outside in the entryway.
