The entire ambiance of this place is a great, relaxed, casual spot with nice vibes throughout. The service is good when they get to your table, but the couple of trips they actually make to your table make it hard to say they are excellent. Especially on a Saturday night. Then there is brown pants man. Brown pants man is a lighter skinned euro/spaniard man who is bald, wearing brown pants and a black tee. while the rest of the staff wore all black. when he dropped off drinks to another table walked towards the kitchen and ahem… adjusted himself walking back. Hey, I get it, I really do, but if your testicles are sticking to each other, maybe you should re-evaluate the tightness of your pants. Slim fit is not for every man you know. I remove one star for the nasty visual of brown pants man digging into his crotch to divide and conquer, and gave four for overall experience and being lucky I didn’t get him at my table. The food was very good though. I ordered a Lychees drink, cannot remember the name at the moment was so good. The Basil Chicken with Coconut Rice was delicious. Prime choice to try. You can get an entrée for as low as $ 8 or as high as $ 21 I think I saw was the priciest thing on the menu. Downstairs was a hoot. the Karaōke lounge has a good setup and lots of space to hang out with you and your friends after dinner and drink some more while you sing«Cheerleader» the best way you can.

Even thought they were super understaffed, our waitress was pretty attentive and well mannered. The food was delicious and my drink soooo good !

I love this place and I’ve eaten here 4 times. Each time it is clean, i am seated and served promptly and everything i order is delicious. I especially enjoy the seafood avocado sandwich with Peruvian mayonnaise, the lemongrass chicken, and a drink called the dragon bite.

Weird spot… We came around 7pm on a weeknight and it was really dark, really empty and the décor was like half restaurant half club? I don’t know what to think about any of it. I loved the bottomless plantain chips and my coconut drink tasted like I was at the beach, but the chocolate empanadas were eh. Service was also incredibly slow and infrequent. Prices were great though so I can’t complain about that.

This review is 2 years late, but better late than never! So I was on the market for a new restaurant to celebrate my 23rd Birthday with my friends when this place was recommended to me. Since we were a fairly big crowd I called the place and made reservations in advance just in case. This place was definitely a great choice! The food was pretty good, the Peruvian/Asian fusion offered a great deal of choices for us to pick on the menu and the ambiance was nice. My friends and I definitely had a good time. Service was a bit slow, but then again we were a big group. Overall, it was a great experience and would definitely love to come back!

One of my favorite asian fusion restaurants. The pineapple chicken with coconut rice keeps me coming back here. It’s served in a pineapple and is just perfect in every way. The steak cubes and the lettuce wraps are absolutely delicious. They have a karaōke bar downstairs which is very convenient if you’re coming here with a large group of friends.

Decided to finally check this place out with my boyfriend for a random date night on Thursday. Cocktails were decent, food was bad as in REALLY bad. So bad that we both got very sick & will never eat there again. Go for drinks but definitely not for food. 1 star for a half way decent lychee martini.

Came in tonight to have dinner with my husband to celebrate Valentines Day and we had to leave. It’s bad enough that the weather outside is FREEZING. But my husband and I didn’t expect it to be so cold in this restaurant. It was uncomfortable. No way I would have enjoyed my dinner sitting in a cold restaurant and have my dinner getting cold too. I feel bad for the workers,. My husband and I ended going to sea restaurant right across the street. It was nice and warm and very comfortable.

Why haven’t I found this place sooner! Bored with my delivery options, I strolled along 6th street and found a plethora of non delivery places. I stumbled into tacu tacu. Long story short, I’m sitting at home eating Kung pao shrimp that is AMAZING. tons of shrimp(at least 10) great taste and heat. All for $ 13! Is it as good as it gets, no. But yay, im totally a fan and will return. I hope to raise this to 5 stars in the near future. Tacu, Tacu be prepared to see my face often(my advanced apologies) lol

Haven’t sampled the food here as of yet but the karaōke and adult beverages are absolutely amazing and pretty reasonably priced for Williamsburg . I want to give specifics in regard to the bartenders tho. Very professional, knowledgeable and attentive(to the point where one of them caught me as I was leaving to remind me I had opened a tab and not to leave my credit car there). So yea. Like above and beyond the typical experience. I’ve only been here twice but knowing that you can find karaōke all over the city … I’d def have to say the beautiful people behind the bar are what will keep me coming back.

This has got to be one of my favorite places to eat. The steak cubes are a must here. The pineapple chicken is also really good. For appetizers the wings and rocket shrimp are up there! Coconut rice with the entrée is a must! The drinks here are also real yummy!

Such a cute ambiance! Came here for a special celebration and enjoyed the entire experience. The service was a bit slow and they didn’t seem particularly attentive, but we didn’t really need anything and weren’t in a rush so it wasn’t the end of the world(this time…). I will say that although they were lacking in speed, all the employees we interacted with were incredibly friendly. Our food was delicious and filling. They definitely don’t skimp on the portions here. We started with the Chicharone De Calamari, which was great and came out quickly. For entrees, we had the Black Bean & Ginger Talipia and the Cube Steak Siagon. The fish had a wonderful flavor and came with a great serving of vegetables. The steak was cooked perfectly as we ordered it, and smelled as delicious as it tasted. The dessert menu looked great, but we were too full to try anything. We may be back for that, as well as to try some things from their creative cocktail menu. Key points: Come hungry, but not in a hurry; this is probably not the place for you if you’re a high maintenance diner.

My second encounter in tacu tacu was pure food related. I needed pure meat related dishes that were hot and expertly cooked and I was not disappointed tonight. My main course was the general tso chicken with steamed broccoli. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken but I thought the broccoli was a little cold. All in all i dug the atmosphere again and was stuffed to the gills with Peruvian Chinese food. Good job!!!

I’m a little disappointed. I came here seven years ago and have been craving their lomo soltado for quite some time. The food has changed drastically. I ordered the beef lomo soltado. The beef was on the dry side. The strawberry daquiri is a typical daquiri. My fiancé ordered the chicharron and the porton sour. His drink had a lot of bitters in it. On the bright side, their portions are huge and the staff is friendly. I wish it were the Tacu Tacu seven years back, but hey. things change.

Came here on a random Wednesday – grateful that it was still open when we were creeping in there close to 11pm with an appetite. but that was also a problem –close to closing=server not giving two craps(*Holy Week just ended so I won’t use an expletive instead of the word crap)* –So besides the server forgetting just about everything – napkins, water, extra plates, and his personality at home. The place isn’t as bad as my 3 stars suggest! Apps-the fried vegetarian dumplings were amazing, crispy and flavorful(unlike our server) Entrees -«Fun In Black» was very similar to Drunken Noodles(which by the way the waiter had no idea what that was –__-) Well made, flavorful, and my friend enjoyed my dish more than hers -«Mi Xao Dun» the crispy noodles idea was cool, the sauce was also ok, but for some reason the dish just fell flat(like my server’s personality). Probably wouldn’t recommend this one Drinks There was a Pear something drink that had me tipsy mid-drink(slurred speech, facial droop, very stroke-like symptoms). Came in a girly martini glass but it was all manly. Well-done bar keep! –Overall, decent food, gracious portions, the VAST menu selection, cool ambience/décor(sofa dining seating), and $$ pricing makes this place just slightly above average – I wouldn’t impress anyone bringing them here but to chill/hang out if you’re in the area I recommend this spot.

I chose tacu tacu to celebrate my sisters birthday. I had the chicken tso with coconut rice. The food and drinks(frozen mango margarita) were pretty good. The only complaint we had was, since we were seated on the lower level, the door was continuously opened which would let the cold in. Out waitress Susan was amazing! She was attentive, yet not over bearing. $$$The prices are fair. $$$ Thank you tacu tacu we will be returning !

Good food, but will likely never return. No one greeted us for approximately 5 minutes when we came in with our party of 9 people. Servers, bartenders and bussers seemed to be actively avoiding coming near the front door. When I finally approached a busboy he retrieved the host after several more minutes. Turns out they had no record of our reservation(made a week in advance and confirmed by us over the phone), so they had to rush to put a table to gather. We were served water and plantain chips right away but waited no less than 20 minutes for a server. One only arrived after I approached the owner of the restaurant who was standing doing nothing in the back. She hurriedly got us a server at that point. From there on out things were fine. The food was actually decent, but not good enough to remove the bad taste that was lingering from the blatant lack of anything resembling decent service for the first half hour of our visit. I was actually ok with the campy interior, bad dance music and the boxing match being displayed on the large screen TV… hey it’s Brooklyn. Finally, to add insult to injury, the owner ran one of the credit cards for $ 160 instead of $ 106 when we were paying. Nice touch. If you want a pleasant and professional dining experience you can cross Tacu Tacu off your list.

Make this one short and sweet. I got the Vietnamese spring rolls and my buddy Rob got the calamari. The spring rolls were small but very tastey. They came with a sweet chili sauce you’d expect at McDonalds for your nuggets. Robs calamari was OK… It came with a «white» sauce… The server claimed it was a pepper ranch type of sauce. Both of us thought it was completely tasteless and made literally no impact on the taste of the calamari whatsoever. Bottled beer was great! ;)

I’ve been here plenty of times with in the last year. The Peruvian menu is the way to go. The seafood’s fresh and the roasted chicken is seasoned well. I really liked the plantain chips and green/orange sauce they give you instead of bread. Unfortunately, the drinks are a bit watered down. The good thing is, during the week they offer $ 3 shots at the bar until 8pm. You can’t mess up a shot of tequila right?! The food menu is extensive. The pupu platter is good for 2 people to share. I was surprisingly pleased with the Angel Wings(the non buffalo ones). They were just the right amount of crispy. Be warned the portions here are large, for both the Asian and Peruvian menu. So come hungry or share if possible. The restaurant is large so there’s always seating available. The only really bad thing about this restaurant is the wait for service. It takes a long time to place an order. We waited about 20 minutes just to put in our drink order and it wasn’t packed. After the 20 minutes was up, I went to the bar and brought drinks back to our table. This wasn’t the first time I waited awhile to order my meal. I’m sure I’ll return here for the food but I’ll have to have patience and I’ll probably pass on getting cocktails.
