*Seamless Lunch Order* I ordered ‘Penne with Mushroom Sauce’. It was pretty inexpensive for a pasta dish($ 8.50). I didn’t have high expectations. I thought the mushroom sauce would be like marsala sauce. But, it was just a marinara with mushrooms in it. I’ll live. They were quick, cheap and had a full menu to select from.

One of the best(and only) great pizza spots on the East Side of Midtown. They’re open late, so its the perfect spot to hit mid-hangover. They have a variety of different pies from different combinations of veggie only, to eggplant & mozzarella and even buffalo chicken. I myself like more classic pizzas. So I went with a fresh tomato slice with extra cheese. It was pretty decent, obviously its not authentic Italian pizza, but in terms of NY style pizza Primavera ranks right up there. The tomatoes tasted really fresh, and the cheese was your standard melted shredded mozzarella. The crust had a decent crisp to it which I really liked. Definitely stop in here if you’re in need of pizza late night.

Still my favorite pizzeria in midtown east, yesterday I travelled from Rockefeller center just to grab a slice– and show my friends visiting from LA what NY pizza is. They usually have about a dozen(!) different slices on the counter and gladly add toppings to any for a small fee. Their buffalo chicken slice is the best. The place also serves fountain drinks(better bargain versus the cans and bottles) and also beer! You can’t beat pizza and beer.

It seems like most people go for the pizza, but this review is for the pasta takeout. The short of it is: do NOT get a pasta dish from this place, unless you’re interested in near-plain pasta, and solely that. In which case, go ahead. I got a $ 17 Chicken Scarpariello, which is supposed to be chicken sautéed with sausage and fresh peppers, on a bed of penne. What I got was a bowl of unsalted penne with literally 3 pieces of sausage and some shredded chicken pieces with a couple of peppers.

Pizza was not so great but what made it unbearable was the dirty atmosphere and seeing a cockroach the size of a iPhone6 run across the dirty carpet. The worst part is that the staff didn’t flinch…

Average pizza if you get it. Place is run my morons. Ordered through Seamless, but they never bothered to check their orders. Many other places in the city to get better pizza. Avoid.

Two stars is generous. I came in not expecting much… just a decent slice. The hour was later(around 9:30 pm) so by that time the grade A pizza spots in the area are closed(my opinion, mind you). The place itself is very dirty, crumbs and trash all over the tables… the floor dirty. Not event an attempt to keep the place up. I should have just walked out after this, but my hunger got the best of me. I ordered two slices and was charged $ 17.00… not sure if this was on purpose or not: when I alerted the clerk he said he would give me the difference in cash, that’s fine… but just the thought he may have tried to pull one over on me annoyed the hell out of me. The slices themselves were doughy, undercooked, and not even the margherita had decent flavor. I’d say unless you haven’t eaten for days… go hungry before stopping in here.

Wow I am still shocked at how good the pizza is here. Walking into Primavera my friends and I were thinking the pizza here was going to be dry and crappy(mainly because the pizza on display looked dry and crappy). Surprising, the slices were the exact opposite once they came out of the oven. Maybe Primavera has some type of magical oven up in there because the pathetic looking slices that we selected came out of that oven looking like slices that could win first prize at a pizza contest. I’m a little hungover so the above writing may not make the most sense so I’m just going to end the review now with these words: the pizza at Primavera is definitely worth trying. What we had * slice of cheese(3) * slice of chicken with BBQ sauce(2) * slice of pepperoni(4)

great pizza, i always order from here when i get delivery. if you like your pizza moist and ready to melt in your mouth, you should get your pizza here. the slices are different than the pies, of course, but both are good.

NY style pizza. My old Neighborhood pizzeria. It’s good to be back after years and realize that the taste has not changed and the pizza is as heavenly as it was

Staff are rude and slow, pizza is mediocre at best. Seeing as the good reviews here mainly come from people who patronized this place inebriated — that should give you a good idea of the quality and vibe. Do yourself a favor and avoid.

OK, first off to the 1 star reviewers– middle finger, perhaps from simply being jaded New Yorkers, exposed to late night pizza and just venting to Unilocal like losers-. But mostly because I don’t agree. The Primavera boys are neighborhood icons in their own humble environment. I have no clue to their ambition, but they are underrated and under appreciated . Its a no frills, grab a slice of heavenly cheese place. At all hours ! The fresh taste is good enough that I don’t have to settle like the rest of mainland america for dominos or even worse– frozen. I give my friends at Primavera credit. I don’t go to them for smiles– I go there for some seriously melted cheese on a moist bread that cooks the moisture into the sauce and cheese with a crunchy base that holds the sauce with integrity. Its a unique pizza that makes for one cozy slice. They know its damn good. If you are drunk add a star… that makes 6. Do they have off days? Yes, Ive been there when someone may have sub’d in and made a less than spectacular pie. Also, at times of fresh out of the oven pies, if you get only one slice, you can end up with the less cheesy part of the pie and therefore also end up slightly disappointed. You can take a chance, but sometimes its just better to order 2 slices. Do I complain to them or channel my frustration into a Unilocal review? Hell no, Im not a dick and these guys are a welcomed establishment in the area. Is there room for improvement? Absolutely, but they are definitely above 3 star pizza. I doubt these guys even care, and Im glad they don’t have to hear all the complaints but they are 5 stars in my book either way.

I very much like Primavera. Whether I am drunk after a vat of Bulgaria’s finest vodka or sober as the day Vladimir the Great chose orthodox Christianity, the pizza is delicious. I especially recommend getting pepperoni with extra cheese.

I ordered a meatball parmigiana one evening, and when I took it back to my hotel room, I realized that these clowns must have had the meatballs under the warmer all day because they were drier than shoe leather. When I called to complain, the guy who took my order and had no difficulty understanding my request, suddenly could not understand my English, so I terminated the call out of utter frustration. Needless to say, they will never have trouble understanding me again because I will never go back.

Stopped in for a slice on a Monday afternoon. Nothing spectacular about the slice, nothing overly terrible either. Decent crust. Poor/rude service though. We could tell the kid didn’t want to be bothered when we walked in, but he got the order right. When we tried to order another soda, the kid is looking out the window and manager sitting at table reading the paper calls his name to assist but didn’t get up either. Sorry to bother you guys. Look elsewhere.

if you get onion in your meatball parm, they will literally quarter a whole onion and put it in there.

#41 One star because Unilocal don’t allow to give zero, staff are rude, I had to send my pizza twice to the oven, because my pizza was frozen and cold, had a bad taste, was so thick and soggy, the staff was the worse I had seen in my life they did not want to put my pizza in the oven, they did it after the manager told them to do it. They have to be the most Overpriced pizzeria in NYC, not coming here again.

Primavera Pizza is an ode to the average, a celebration of unremarkable, and a triumph of the banal. To be honest, I wasn’t even sure of this place’s name until I looked it up. It does nothing to stand out amidst dozens and dozens of pizza places just like this. But that’s not a bad thing. It’s not a good thing either, and that’s the point. When you’re drunk or hungry(ok, most likely drunk), this is exactly the type of place you want. Open late, decent variety and tastes pretty good. These types of places are almost like a New York City fast food franchise; they appeal because familiarity can be satisfying. That said, there’s nothing whatsoever that would possibly compel me to come here from a great distance. So why am I reviewing Primavera instead of the any of the other indistinguishable establishments in Manhattan? This happens to be a third of a block from my apartment. Yes, proximity does count for something. And despite all I’ve said, their pizza IS probably slightly better than average. So if you do drop by and grab a slice, you’ll probably enjoy it. But you also probably won’t remember it the next either(and not just because of the alcohol).

Let’s call a spade a spade, people. This place exists because of the late night bar crowd who needs a slice or two to counter the effects of their liquid diet. Primavera Pizza saves lives. People stumble in on the verge of alcohol poisoning, have a slice, and save themselves from a night of stomach pumping at the hospital. That said, I do like the pizza. The zita pizza is a personal favorite as well as the buffalo chicken. It’s overpriced but I doubt most of the clientele even notices. Cheers.
