Really Good pizza, but a lil bit thicker and chewier than I thought it would be! Very generous with added toppings! Employees very friendly! Small restaurant, most ppl order take out. Very old school! Pizza box wrapped with red string that I haven’t seen since I was a kid, used by bakeries to wrap baked goods! I was stuffed after one and a half slices, couldn’t finish both! I’d go back here again if close by!

Everyone was nice and the service was good. We ordered two sicilian slices and one cheese slice. We chewed and chewed but tasted nothing. Go elsewhere and you can get far better slices for the same prices.

They are one of the reasons I started Unilocaling! I love pizza only because I learned what good pizza is from this NYC neighborhood when I was growing up. They have that Nyc foldable pizza taste not many places can capture. I’m a long time customer that cannot be deterred.

My girlfriend told me about this place and I that I had to go. Since we were both hungry we went to this pizzeria. At first I had my doubts. However once I got my pizza it was amazing. The pizza there is amazing and at a good price. The service there is amazing.

Best pizza in NYC hands down! not your regular pizza shop where they have speciality pizza premade. Everything is fresh. Sicilian also the best! No Sicilian in the city comes close

Much Value! Such Pizza! One reason I Love New York(both the city and show) is the pizza. Okay, I guess pizza isn’t a big theme in the show but I digress. Fit snug in the quaint Inwood neighborhood is the bustling Pizza Palace. For less than 5 bucks you can get a filling and quite delicious meal. Seriously, who DOESNT like pizza? This pizza has all the satisfaction of eating a thin crust pizza with a regular crust satiation. Inwood is the slice of New York you see on TV. But mostly the show Hey Arnold. There isn’t just one Stoop Kid. Everyone sits out on their front door steps chatting up their friends and family. Kids are always playing in the streets and everyone from this ethnically rich neighborhood goes to the local pizza place(or should I say Palace?) Probably coming from the most air conditioned city of the world, Houston, I have been spoiled because this place is humid! I guess it adds to the whole experience since the service is efficient and patrons are friendly but moreover, its-ah good-ah pizza

I like this place. It is my favorite pizza place in Inwood, a neighborhood where people are fond of saying we have no good pizza. This place is not great but it’s solid – quintessential par pizza. Chewy crust which I love but not everyone does, actualy sauce present unlike so many places, market price of 2.50 for a nice big slice, and a nicely rounded menu of the staples.

When I moved to the neighborhood there were a fair number of pizza options, and I wanted to make sure I didn’t waste time ordering from lesser parlors. I skipped breakfast and lunch one day and spent the afternoon wandering Broadway and Dyckman, trying a slice at every stop so I could compare them with the others fresh on my tongue. Johnny’s Pizza Palace won, hands down. Not only that, but it was the last stop on my tour, meaning I rated it highest when I’d gone from starving to full. This is the quintessential New York slice and my only go-to now. May it reign forever.

There aren’t enough wonderful things that I can say about this spot. Not only is the pizza incredibly wonderful. But the staff here is incredible. Johnny, the owner, is an amazingly sweet guy. I grew up on 10 Post Ave and I was only a block away from the GREATEST pizza in ALL of New York City. With all due respect to all the other pizza joints in NY, Pizza Palace blows them away. I have fond memories of going here as a kid and simply devouring their awesome pizza. I can’t speak too much about what else is on their menu because I was always busy stuffing my face with… yeah, you guessed it: pizza. I miss having the easy access to Pizza Palace that I used to have. But if my ass were stuck on Mars you damn well better believe I’d take a rocket ship straight down to Dyckman. This is an uptown landmark. And I say that with all sincerity.

I used to go here because they have anchovies. Maybe once every two weeks I’d stop by here. I’d love to eat pizza every singe day, but I look at the shape and size of people who do, and say heeeeell no, but I do treat myself a couple times a month. Besides anchovies, this place had a slightly heartier slice than the rest of the places around, and they also don’t have a tip jar. After what I saw tonight, I’m going to take a break from Pizza Palace. You know there’s not much worse than realizing you just sat down by someone that’s furiously gnawing on their finger nails. Now what if that person is the person that’s making your food? Yeah, kinda gross. Not to mention I saw employees picking up used napkins off of table with their bare hands. Napkins that were on people’s mouths, or in this cold weather, used to blow their nose with. This place just needs to take care of the little things that people like me notice. It’s a shame, because I never got to try out their Sicilian slice, or anything else. I just went there for the anchovies. Well not anymore.

This slice of pie might just convert this thin-crust-straight-like-cardboard-crust loving girl into a foldable pizza girl. My slice was the best of both worlds. Crisp, straight like cardboard, BUT thicker and doughier than the normal thickness. How can it be doughy and crisp at the same time is beyond me. Super flavorful. Just a few sprinkles of chili flakes for a little heat was all that was needed. Great crust. Great sauce. Loads of gooey cheese. It was so good, I can see myself getting off the A one stop earlier, walking the opposite direction for too many blocks, just to have this slice of pie. 2 slice of cheese and 2 bevies, $ 7.50 A whole cheese pie is only $ 14. I’d gladly hand over a $ 20 to the nice older gentleman for that any day.

Ok, all you newly arrived«new yorkers» with your skinny jeans and«brooklyn» tattoos(even though ur from South Carolina) THIS spot is the closest(taste-wise) you will get to what real old-school NY pizza use to be. This is some good Pizza. It’s just like the old-school pizza spots, right across the Projects, NO delivery, NO ac in the place and the guys working there still rock the red stripe shirts and white paper hats. This should be a tourist destination.
