Paul’s is one of my favorite spots in the city and it just happens to be in my neighborhood. Such a great trendy crowd, the BEST music(everything from old school Mariah to Drake) and no one really knows about it! They don’t allow photography bc it’s often frequented by celebs which is cool bc everyone has their phones away and just enjoying the moment. Specialty cocktails are delicious and strong and theres plenty of room to sit. I’ve never had issues getting in and everyone that works here is SONICE. The space is small and you feel as though you’re partying in someone’s lavish living room. Tropical décor with fun wallpaper and so many plants. Servers wear apron like dresses with bananas on them — where else do you see that? Paul’s has such unique character and is a guaranteed fun time.

Been coming here for a little over a year and it’s a pretty great place to hangout with friends. Crowd is good, bartenders are super friendly and fast. Music on Wednesdays is top notch and it can get packed around 1/1:30 — just in time for the disco ball to make its appearance.

Yow! Loud. Don’t expect to be able to talk to your friends. If they can even get in. Make sure you arrive together or with a movie star on your arm to get in. If you are lucky enough to be ordained with entrance, the rest of your party arriving later may be turned away. The doorman should work for the FBI or NSA. It’s like his eyes are a deep scanning device. Made the hair stand up on my neck. I mean seriously it’s a cocktail lounge not a meeting place for the Illuminati. Luckily there are lots of other places nearby that don’t suffer from the same issue of self importance.

Infamous married door man and suited side kick have a relentless way of denying every single human in line. DONOT, I repeat DONOT attempt to go in here unless you want to be eye balled down from the door man that looks like a dorky version of Bill Hayder. New York City so chic.

Had such a great time here the other night. Me and three friends met here for a few drinks. We loved the«bisou bisou» it was fantastic, def try it! The bartenders were great and I LOVED their fun pants. The music was A+ and we danced all night. Only thing I didn’t love was basically every third person was smoking inside the bar.

what a JOKE. been a resident in NYC since 2006(longer then the $ 20/hour doorman haha!) and this scene is getting OLD(it’s not 2010 anymore)…to the owners/principal’s PLEASEREAD: i met a woman who work’s there(will go unnamed so to not jeopardize her employment) went there with a nice surprise gift and politely told the doorman i was her ‘guest’, by NAME, and she was expecting me, as promised, tonite… was told there was a ’ PRIVATEPARTY’ which they have been saying 2+ years here… its TIIRINGPEOPLE! it’s one thing to be an outsider/tourist but cmon?! this is INSULTING and DEGRADING, sadly this is what nyc residents HOPETOAVOID on a THURSDAY nite… BEADVISEDGOTO anywhere else in tribeca you will be treated with respect, coming from someone who lives here!

The worst experience ever! do your selves a favor and don’t even go here, the doormen at the gate are very entitled and made a very disrespectful and sexist comment targeting the girls in our group when we asked what we should expect ie when we would get in or if we would ever get in. AGAINVERYVERYDISRESPECTFULANDHARASSINGDOORMAN!!! They let only one half of our group in, and treated the other half like shit!

Piece of shit place with the doorman acting like he owns the world. Just me and my girl visiting and he was beyond rude to us. The only power he’s ever had in his life was monitoring a fucking door bahah loser.

This place is by far most entertaining, fun, and lively bars I have been to! I like that it’s retro themed, and the decoration is cool and modern. Really good music as well, I recommend!

Rudest bouncer I’ve ever encountered. This place needs to learn how to treat people with respect.

After being told it is a private party, palm door guy with the beard $ 100-$ 200(depending on the night) and you are all good! The drinks are great inside. Bartenders are pretty friendly. The music is fun too. Kinda of like a small apartment party. Honestly, just get past the terrible door guy, who literally just stares at his phone until he sees money or a model, and it is a blast.

I want to like this place. The interiors are great, the bartenders are precious, and the drinks are delicious. My problem with it is that the people who run it clearly are ok with an overload of drugs being done in the bathrooms. Last time I was there, I actually had to wait in line as 5 people smashed into a bathroom to get buzzed. When I told the security about it, the guy laughed and thought it was somehow humorous. It’s unfortunate that such a beautiful place would rather run the risk of people hurting themselves, than kick out kids who are living like it’s the 90s. Get real, people — you’re not Kate Moss and you never will be, so cut the bad habits. I don’t want to go back to a place that feels like druggie den.

I really like the vibe of this place, and the crowd adds to that experience. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like I’m in a secret room inside the hotel, coming and going through the side doors. Other than the weekend, the best night to come is Wednesday night. The music is especially good. The only downside is that the drinks are really expensive. I get that the bartenders are really good at what they do– you can actually see them making the drink from scratch, rather than just reaching for pre-made cocktail mixes. They’re really tasty, but at $ 20/drink, that’s way more for a drink than even in a Vegas nightclub.

I have tried to go to Paul’s Baby Grand three times. The first time I was turned away and told it was a «private party» then they let in the trashy girls behind me without asking any questions. The second time I was with a friend and we went in and I was not impressed at all and left after 15 minutes. The third time I was told it was a «private party» again, then the doorman told me I could come in(to meet my friend who was already inside) if I paid the $ 20 «cover charge.» Which he obviously made up on the spot. I was not about to bribe a sleazy doorman to get into this non-spot. Overall one of the dumbest places I’ve ever been in New York.

Thank you for being a friend. Travel down the road and back again. Your heart is true, you’re a pal and a confidant. And if you threw a party, Invited everyone you knew. You would see the biggest gift would be from me And the card attached would say, Thank you for being a friend. All I can think of when lounging in this small little hidden oasis inside of the Tribeca Hotel is, «Blanche, where’s the cheesecake?!» The walls are decked out in Miami tropical pinks and green. Palm trees everywhere. Gaudy chandeliers. Rose petal pink plush velvet couches. SHUTUP. Just pour me a cocktail and call me Rose for the rest of the night. Because let’s face it, I’ll never be a Blanche. I had the pleasure of accompanying my friend Stephy P. to an open bar event here and it did not disappoint. I LOVETHEGOLDENGIRLS. I was expecting stuffy and upper crust after looking at initial photos. I kept looking for a baby grand piano. But no, there’s just a super fancy cocktail bar and my tropical Golden Girls themed living room that I cannot get enough of. Everyone in here was pretty trendy and hip. Only complaints is that the space is very small and can get incredibly stuffy with all of that upholstery. Also, somehow the event reached maximum capacity and the bouncers refused to let in people that were clients or with the firm towards the end of the evening even despite showing her corporate card. I find that very peculiar especially since she said, «well, I’m willing to pay for my drink.» I find that unacceptable. If this bar wasn’t so appealing to me, based off of that simple factor it would be enough for me to demote several stars from my review. They served food at the event and I’m not sure if its connected with the hotel’s kitchen or if Paul’s Baby Grand does catering, but it was delicious. Mini cheeseburger sliders cooked perfectly medium rare. Juicy enough that it stained my shirt. Risotto balls which were a little bit on the salty side but still very good. Cheese balls. And finally last but not least my personal favorite, crab cake balls. Drinks were decent. I had an old fashioned and it was tasty and strong but had an entire wedge of orange instead of orange peel in it. Maybe I’m being overly picky. Some were more interesting than others: a cocktail with vodka and fresh raspberry juice accompanied with a whole blackberry was pretty divine. I asked for something girly and I got what I asked for and beyond. Which is pretty much my entire feelings on Paul’s Baby Grand. It’s tacky, gaudy, pretentious, hidden from the public, a little bit glamorous and I kind of love all of those things. So I’m sticking with my 5 solid stars.

If you get in, you’re in for a great night. We were fortunate to be able to experience this small gem of a club through the recommendation of a friend. The club is located in the Tribeca Grand Hotel, with its own side entrance. We had jumped out of a cab, on the wrong side of the hotel, to snow having turned into rain, lots of slush on the roads. Once we realized that we had to run around we were both kind of drenched and not a pretty sight, I guess, even for two well-groomed girls. However the doorman was nice, and we entered the club — which was still pretty empty at the time, we had arrived much too early — just after midnight. When you enter, and you are used to all those modern and sleek clubs, you are in for a surprise. This is something new entirely, and I fell in love with the place immediately: It sports a tropical look, very kitschy, colorful, somehow 30’s ambience, with a light pink bar immediately after entering(I think it was pink, might have also been orange — but an unusual color in any case ;-)) and lots of flowers everywhere — starting with unreal ones on the wallpaper and real ones in beautiful vases dotted around the room, together with palm plants to make everything even more exotic. You feel comfortable immediately, as the place is tiny compared to what we are used to(cf P1 in Munich, our«famous» club, which is a maze), the staff wearing uniform, and being very courteous. The music is — of course –different as well — thank god! The DJ played music of the 30’s, which to this day I had never heard anywhere else than at my grandmothers house. We ordered drinks and sat back in those extremely comfortable sofa-chairs, and enjoyed the atmosphere. The place filled quickly, and we found ourselves dancing — with everyone! What I enjoyed most — apart from the great sound provided by the DJ — was the fact that the people were all different, the crowd was the most diverse I have every experienced. Beautiful, ugly, average, thin, normal-large — a true mix of party people enjoying their lives. We got into conversations easily and found everyone to be nice vs. arrogant — the latter sadly being the new normal with hip places… We did get back to the hotel very, very late(or very early, I’d rather say ;-) — saying that this has truly been a night to remember, thank you Baby Grand!

Now I’m a fan(and a friend) of Paul Sevigny. I think it’s hard to be a NY nightlife person at all without at least enjoying one or two of his spaces, like Beatrice Inn, or Don Hill’s. This space is his new spot, which is located in an annexed spot attached to the Tribeca Grand Hotel, hence the name. It has a separate entrance that’s actually on the side of the hotel, which adds to the«cool» feel of it. I went here a couple weeks ago for an event that was happening on a Friday night, and since I’d never been to the space I wanted to check it out; why not right? When you get inside, you really get to like the décor/layout of it: not too big, spots for you to sit down, and waiters and bartenders who happen to be dressed up. The waiters have on sort of Hawaiian garb, where as the bartenders are in suits. It’s a cocktail lounge really, so it probably makes sense to refer to them as mixologists. They’re very nice as well, because the event did get super packed and they were still very level headed and quick about getting people their drinks. Paul actually showed up that night too which was great, because I haven’t seen him in a bit and he’s always a fun dude to chat with, even in a raging party. It seems like it would be a very clutch after hours spot, a great spot for an event(but maybe a much smaller one than the one i attended) or just a really awesome place to take a date if you want to impress them with how cool you are. However entry is up to the doorman, so if the 3rd choice is your plan, make sure you’re actually cool enough to get inside!
