This place is the worst with the new management. I order a pizza at 9:50pm it is now 11:25 the pizza has not arrived. I call all they keep saying is it is out for delivery. I mean I understand 45 mins but I don’t live that far away. Never again will I order from this place again. Dominos it is and better prices.

I order from papa johns all the time. It doesn’t matter if I’m traveling or at home. I even order it for my employees as the food of choice when there are so many other options to choose from. Today I ordered from the 703 Lenox location. I did an online order and forgot an item. I called the store within 5 – 7 minutes of ordering asking to add the item. The gentleman that answered was not only unhelpful but also rude. He stated that he did not have an order for me and said to check my email. Being new to the NYC area I checked my email to ensure it was the correct location which it was. After checking I immediately called back and spoke with the same gentlemen that now knew my address and be stated«the driver just left with your food». When I told him that he just said he had no order for me and asked why the food is magically on its way he changed his answer to the driver left 3 minutes ago. I told him if he had been more thorough the first time I checked he would have been able to add the side item I wanted. He did not show any empathy or care. This is unacceptable. This is the worst experience I’ve had with Papa Johns in 10 years of ordering. Last time I ordered, I selected bottle water as my drink only to be told that they had none and I would need to pick a soda. I do not drink soda and when I told them this they basically said«okay…» as in its my problem not theirs. After pushing for water they had the delivery driver by a bottle of water from the corner store.

This location is notoriously bad. Slow delivery times. Poor customer service. I pre-ordered(and pre-paid for) 4 pies and wings online at 4pm for 6:15pm delivery Super Bowl Sunday. I called at 7:30p and waited on hold for 15min before hanging up and tried to call back at 9pm but they were so call-logged that the calls didn’t even go through. The pizza finally arrived at 9:40pm and was already cold. We had to heat the pizza in our oven during the 3rd Quarter of our SB party. I still tipped the delivery guy 20% bc I don’t think it’s his fault they didn’t schedule enough drivers to cover the demand of the biggest pizza ordering day of the year. This is the second time in a row that my order was more than an hour late and this is the last time I order from this location.

The food was fine(hence an extra star) & we didn’t have issues but it’s TINY in here. You may not want to come here for carryout with small kids since they’ll have no place to sit or hang out while you wait on your order. Didn’t see major issues in getting carryout but not thinking I’d go out of my way to patronize this location.

First off, let’s debate the negative star system again… That would be the starting point for reviews of Papa John’s Pizza at 703 Lenox Ave. I’ve ordered from here 3 times, the first amazingly successful and the last two, I had to cancel the order due to the length of time to even get an update let alone receive delivery of a pizza. For example, tonight 1÷21÷16 they had me on hold for first 6 minutes(subsequently they hung up once they answered), and the the second time after I was again on hold for another 5 minutes. Don’t waste your time ordering from here. It’s obvious Papa John’s Inc has written off this location and sadly left their name on the ledger. #terrible #papajohns #dontwasteyourtime #terribleservice

This place is the ABSOLUTEPITS!!! I’ve ordered from them on 2 separate occasions online: 2 medium pies and charged for them, only to have them show up with 1 pie 3 hours later! When you call to rectify the situation, you’re on hold, HOLDING, HOLDING, HOLDING. You hang up and call back, you’re on hold, HOLDING, HOLDING, HOLDING, when you finally get someone, you get an attitude like you are bothering them! I’ve written a letter to corporate and their stockholders because its just plain thievery!!! If you’re charged for 2 and receive 1 pie, call back to bring it to their attention and hope to have it corrected, only to be met with attitude because you won’t allow them to keep your money for the pie YOUDIDNOTRECEIVE, ITSTHIEVERY!!! DON’T ORDERFROMTHISPLACE!!! THISISTRULYTHEWORSTESTABLISHMENTINNYC.

I don’t know why I bother with fast food chains, but at times you just HAVE to say something. You have to take it with a grain of salt, but this was just bad. Now generally when a person orders in, that’s because they don’t want to cook. I had to warm up my pizza and cook the wings some more when I specifically asked for them to be cooked well done and/or dropped twice. Wings should be crispy. Not soggy. If I wanted to have what feels like loose scrotal skin in my mouth, I’d call my ex boyfriend. Now I’m only speculating here, but aren’t fast food workers making $ 15 an hour now? No one told you to come to work on a Saturday, but I think that’s a pretty nice incentive being as though you’re just answering the phone so whispering«oh my god» under your breath when I want to add another phone number to my account because your people don’t know how to open the door when I buzz them in, is unprofessional. Maybe ordering online has spoiled me, but I’ve never had such bad service from this location. Nor has my food ever arrived cold. Lenox Ave. Whoever the new girl is, you need to volunteer her as tribute in the hunger games. You gotta do better.

THEWORSTESTABLISHMENTINNYC. My friend and I ordered pizza and wings on Super Bowl Sunday. Sure, we expected a very long wait. We ordered online and were told it would be about 2 hours. Fine, we expected it. 2 hours roll by, then 3, then 3.5. At this point we called a few times but got a busy tone. 4 hours roll by and at this point the restaurant was closed. We called right at 11, or whenever it closed, and the phone rang, but of course no one picked it up because they had left!!! I think they purposely left the phone off the hook so they wouldn’t have to take any orders. I am truly appalled. Luckily my friend was reimbursed. She called corporate and emailed and they responded. I hope this location receives a serious reprimand… as in, they get SHUTDOWN. DONOTTRYIT… cuz they«tried it» if you know what i mean.

Worst service of any pizza location ever. I order for my kids and more than a few times they’ve either given me the wrong order or are ridiculously late. Then if you try to call, you’ll be on hold for a half hour until someone finally picks up and gives you the worst customer service ever. This is the last time.

I honestly don’t know who accepts the online orders however it takes the delivery man 60 mins and I’m right up the block, any who when you call to verify the order there’s a nasty representative(female) who has no type of telephone etiquette. Therefore I will not ordering from this establish again. The food was ok …

Yes, I ordered corporate food for the first time in years, decades… I’ve mentioned in past reviews that Harlem pizza in general will someday drive me to ordering from a pizza chain, and it did. I haven’t tried all the pizzeria’s in Harlem yet, because there may be some that I don’t know about, and there’s one(Bad Horse Pizza) that is far too expensive and they don’t deliver past 135th. I may try it someday, but NO pizza is worth the prices they charge. It’s dough, sauce, and a handfull of ingredients. Not worth $ 26, I refuse! Anyhow, we ordered from the Lennox store because I’m always up for a public boycott for good reason, like the one on the Broadway store. If you don’t know, a little research will tell you the bad things they did. We’ve ordered from here twice, the delivery has been prompt, and the pizza is still too hot to handle. My wife got some kind of BBQ pineapple ham pizza with thin crust. She’s one of those anti-carb people from the last Atkin’s «Carbs are bad» scare of 2003. I remember that, cuz I was living in Seattle at the time, and my Starbucks stock went through the roof with all these weak, carbless people in definite need of caffine… anyhow… so she got what she asked for, a handfull of good ingredients thrown on what looked and tasted like an unsalted Saltine cracker. I ordered the Tuscan six cheese pizza. I ordered it, because I’m fed up with places like this skimping on the cheese. There WILL be naked spots on a regular specialty pizza, but not on this one. This one is good. I’m even thinking about using the six cheese as a base for other ingredients in future orders. Maybe a six cheese with pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, yummo! Didn’t do that this time because I wasn’t in the mood for a screw up. But next time I will test their special order skills. Another thing I like about Papa John’s is the two hot peppers and garlic butter they add. It’s like the toy in my Happy Meal. So like most chain restaurants, the food is Exactly like I remembered it was 20 years ago. Consistency is good, but I do get bored easily. And please don’t subtract any Foodie points from me for eating corporate food. Let me use my Mulligan on this one due to the lack good pizza up here. This will be my one guilty pleasure…

Holy Cannoli, this place is good. I have ordered at least once a week since I moved in and they alway deliver a hot tasty pie every time… super hot! the cheese and sauce is like lava when I get it. yum, man! They are really consistent and the phone people are extremely happy and helpful. Sometimes they recommend special deals that I dont know the deal on before I order. The best thing is that they call you when they are on their way so when I finally get down from the penthouse(lol) they are right outside the door. This place is the best in my area

Updating due to spectacularly lame customer service… not changing my star rating, even though I probably should. I had an EXTREMELY frustrating time on the phone ordering a pizza when the online system went down. The order taker kept putting me on hold(I was trying to ask about specials and order), and I gave a credit card number over the phone… not even a millisecond after I uttered the last number of my Amex, she put me on hold and the call was dropped. I called back to make sure my order was ACTUALLY taken(because being stood-up by the pizza place SUCKS)… after a few minutes of waiting, a woman answers the phone — it sounds like the same person — same pitch, vocal intonation, and pronunciation… and here’s how our conversation went. «Hi, I was trying to place an order and you hung up on me before I got confirmation, I just wanted to make sure the order went through, since I gave you my credit card info.» «*I* HUNGUP on you?!» «Well, you put me on hold and the call was disconnected, so YES, you hung up on me» «ugh, well, that wasn’t ME» O_O really?! I had to explain that SOMEONE had hung up on me from that store; it had sounded like the same person, and I was really just trying to make sure my order was complete. so… note to people that answer the phone and deal with customers: When a customer says«YOU» hung up on me, it is NOT the time to get into the semantics of who actually hung up on them — whether it was you or not — it’s not f***ing PERSONAL, it’s also most definitely not a «YOUPEOPLE» or all [insert group of people here] sound alike issue, as you tried to insinuate. My entire interaction with you is TRULY about trying to make sure that I get my pizza. Just more evidence that in this day and age, proper care of the customer is a lost art.
