Good diner, good location for me being I was working in the building above the restaurant. Food is solid, a lot to pick from, menu very large. They have nice cakes and pies. A little expensive, but that’s MANHATTAN for you.

I told them im short on time and need to eat quick. Wow wasn’t expecting that. as soon as I sat, water on the table, then menu, told them what I want, couple minutes or seconds later. To fast to tell my food was out. I got there tuna melt. it was really good considering how fast it came. Also go the fries. Not disappointed.

Takes me back. Lived and went to school nearby so the Olympic Flame is solid go-to for a quick bite when in the Columbus Circle area. The staff has always been friendly(the waiter kindly helped charge my iPhone bc I was out of juice) and obviously the menu can be overwhelming(what diner menu isn’t though, really?) but if you know what you want you’re in luck. Recently went for a quick late bite and the food was quick and hot. I ordered a turkey bacon wrap with french fries and my friend ordered a new mediterranean chicken sandwich with bacon and pesto. We were definitely full… and yet still went for ice cream. Solid food experience.

This is a solid Greek diner in the vicinity of Lincoln Center. If you are looking for a super-quick, tasty, and surprisingly inexpensive meal pre-show, this is probably your best option. Luckily, Olympic Flame is a good one! There are plenty of good dining options near Lincoln Center, but sometimes you need a meal on the fly after work and before the opera.

Service was excellent, clean and good menu. My chicken salad was so good, pancakes and turkey club was also good.

Just had brunch here earlier today — what a surprise! I wasn’t expecting much from this diner, to be honest, but my meal and the superb service were beyond my expectations. This place is actually decently busy, but not crazy during brunch hours on Sunday. We were seated at a booth immediately. Their menu is ridiculously long and it took me quite a while to figure out what I wanted to eat from their vast menu, ranging from burgers to salads to breakfast foods to dinner foods. Eventually, I decided to get a Belgian waffle with sausage and after it was put in front of my face, I knew I had made a good decision. The waffle was freshly made and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It came with syrup and butter, of course. The sausage, though it looked a little weird, was actually tasty. It was really crispy on the outside and went well with the maple syrup and waffle. You can also choose ham or bacon instead. The SO got a brunch special, which came with tea or coffee, OJ or mimosa, fruit salad, and an entrée on the list for $ 14.95. Satisfying brunch!

Pros: Sandwiches are what you expect when you order. Quality deli meats. Friendly staff. Quick service. Awesome diner ranch dressing. Cons: FRIES :(I expect more from diner fries… I have never received hot fries; I usually receive them cold and soggy(bad combo).

Great food. Impeccable service. Gets food out and to the table quickly EVERYTIME. As a john Jay student, I come here almost every time on my break and have never been disappointed! By the way… The French Toast is da bomb!!!

Just went to Olympic flame for the first time. Had scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese. Food came out quickly and very hot but the bacon was very sub par. Super thin, seemed like they might have microwaved it. Not very impressed. Service was fine, wasn’t checked up on my waitress who passed multiple times. I was finished eating and had to flag her down for check

Definitely overpriced for a diner. There is good and bad. The menu is good. Lots of choices. No complaints here. The staff range from good to God-awful. There was a huge turnaround in staff and whoever trains them doesn’t have a clue. Could be the owner/manager Billy. He should retire already. Place used to be phenomenal. Now mediocre. A shame. Seating is comfortable and inviting. The pancakes are awful. The eggs are always overlooked unless you specify to undercook. Fries are good. wraps are good. Specials mediocre and overpriced. Though the baked ziti is great. Try it. It may work for you. I will say that delivery service is super fast. And usually correct.

There’s so much I want to say about the diner, but I will keep it as brief as possible. Let me start by saying the menu is way too long. It’s like 10 pages and each page is packed with countless amounts of verbiage. It’s overwhelming! In addition, the food is horrible, this is about my third time coming here out of convince and pure hope that it would get better. The eggs are always over cooked and burned. The Belgium waffles are always way too dense. The home fries are dry and flavorless. I was forced to slather them in ketchup. If you’re looking for great quality homestyle diner food this isn’t the place for you. If you’re looking to grab a quick less than mediocre bite once and never return, try it. Otherwise stay away! but if you want to make it a spot for continuous service.

This place was 3 star for me from the jump but with the latest service I just got– It’s definitely a 1 star. I don’t think I’ve ever felt a server be so hostile with me– he started off being very playful with our table and somewhere in the middle he became really aggressive saying some offensive remarks. I will never come back here, do yourself a favor and walk one more avenue up– there are plenty other diners to dine at better than this place.

It was ok. The food was ok. Hard to screw up a burger but they should always separate the bun in take-out delivery for… that reason. No one volunteered to help me, so that makes all the(negative) difference.

Friday 10:30am; the place is hopping and good morning greetings as we enter. Loads of plates with eggs, blueberry pancakes, potatoes, oh my. Hard to choose what to eat. I had an excellent multigrain waffle, low-fat yogurt, strawberries and blueberries. Wow. Companions had similar breakfast orders. So good. Lots of regulars come here based on the greetings being given all around. I’m glad I returned. Olympic Flame is still a great spot.

This diner is very cute! Spacious inside, with ample seating. The rooms are clean, but the silverware was a little dirty. The workers are mostly rude, and rush you. But the food was well-priced and I got a lot for my money(at least, I got what I expected in New York for my money lol)– and also, it was delicious! I got the Chicken Gyro Platter. I would definitely go back for another one again, it was seriously great. And my family said their food was good(I only remember someone getting a burger, the Olympic special, and the tortellini) as well.

An OK diner but don’t expect high. The service is fast but the servers are on the rude side and leave little time for you to read the big menu. Food is not bad: big portion, filling, yet is sort of bland.

Came here twice, both times after my morning class, so about 11AM on a weekday. The food tastes okay, no surprises or strange tastes in your classic sausage and egg or pancakes, decent for the price, and fairly good portions. Their servers are a bit impatient, I personally think that there are too many of them working at the same shifts, the boss apparently watches and yells at them when they don’t have customers to be serving so they rush you to order. Both times I had a butter knife with gunk on it(honestly looked like dried boogers) I had to ask to change my utensil. It might also be too much information but I must be honest and thorough with my review. Ever since classes began, I’ve been trying out more of the local restaurants near John Jay, I have not had an issue with my digestion nor is my stomach sensitive. But on these two days I came here, and mind you, I did not come back to back, I had a not so fun time going to the bathroom. If you get my gist, then you know why I’m rating this place only one star, well among other reasons, that tops the whole list of cons I have about this diner. They take cash and card, they have plenty of seating, moderate noise level, and an oldies diner look to it. This place has so much potential, I do not recommend coming here unless you need to clear out your colon.
