I ordered the chicken tacos to-go, during lunchtime on a weekday. PROS: 1. Good prices. 2. The shredded chicken was well-seasoned. CONS: 1. Waited FARTOOLONG for food to be ready(20 mins for take-out tacos is ridiculous!). Conclusion — Don’t waste your time here, it’s nothing special.

I went there for lunch. Nobody is taking an order. Waited for 20min and left. Not nice staff and I won’t go there if you have a short lunch time!

Ok food, longest wait for lunch, rather line up at mile long chopt or chipotle. I even ordered 15 mins before going to pick up. The white buckets under their sink is what they transfer their veggies in. Ew.

I don’t really get the four stars. Food was pretty bland and the place is a dive. I realize there aren’t that many places to eat in the ‘hood but it’s still a stretch! It was busy so maybe I ordered the wrong thing but I doubt it! Unlikely that I’ll go back. Plus, it doesn’t seem very hygienic. They just throw the wraps in the microwave without a plate or anything. Weird.

I came here at lunch with a friend and ended up here. A little café called Nick’s place that was tiny, cute, and a nice little refuge from everything going on outside. The restaurant was pretty warm and be prepared to wait for your food as they seemed to be pretty popular. The restaurant was a little too small for the one waitress/server/bus boy and our food took a little longer than expected to get to us. Overall the price was ok for the food we received as it ended up costing 11 per person.

I love finding hole in the wall places with decently good food! A little hard to find but this little place has inviting bright orange walls next to the freight elevator past the security guard. Had ordered the chicken quesadilla wrap which was hot gooey with cheese but balanced with cool sour cream and the famous turkey pita sandwich which was a little dry on Its own but delicious with their homemade pita dipping sauce. Lemonade was refreshing and awesome for a humid 90 degree day.

I ventured into Nick’s Place one day for lunch. The entrance is somewhat discreet, but it was still relatively welcoming. I had no problem walking right in and finding the restaurant down the hallway. There’s maybe 6 – 7 tables, so it’s not the smallest restaurant I have ever been to but it’s certainly a «cozy» atmosphere. Service was good, very attentive, and friendly. They brought a good amount of pita to the table, along with some sort of greek dressing. Pita typically goes along better with a thicker, hummus type dip, but it was still something worth snacking on. I ordered the chicken quesedilla wrap with a greek salad side. Food took longer than expected to come. The salad was pretty typical — tomatoes, cucumber and a few olives. The chicken in the wrap was very flavorful, and super moist. The cheese was melted well, and it all tasted excellent. However, it was way too small. I could have easily eaten two. Unfortunately, at a price of $ 9.75, that isn’t exactly in my lunch budget. I might return to Nick’s Place in the future and give something else on the menu a try. However, I put a heavy emphasis on finding a good balance between quantity, quality, and price. Unfortunately, the item I ordered at Nick’s Place did not meet two of those attributes.

this place is awesome. Plus you have to know how to get there. it’s pretty hidden which makes it even more appealing :-) I have had paninis, salads, tacos and each time it was fast served, fresh and good.

Solid lunch for a fresh Greek salad with grilled chicken and house shallot dressing. Yum! Total hole in the wall(freight entrance).

Stumbled upon Nick’s Place because I work in the area. Decided to try it out for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. It’s very hidden which makes it a nice break from the normal crowds of midtown lunchers at nearby spots. The«famous» turkey pita is delicious, and they have a variety of other salads, wraps, and tacos for lunch. The service is quick and friendly, and take-out is quick as well.

There are a few things in life I truly relish doing. Most of the those involve things on fire. However giving a chance to go some which is truly hidden I am in. Nick’s door is not only hidden it is almost forbidden looking. First you go into a freight elevator door, then past a security guard to find it. This place is really meant for the workers in the building, which happen to included some of the top fashion labels in the world. Once there you get quick service, tasty food and the best part dirt cheap. Like my whole meal(omelet and coffee for $ 6 out the door). I am pretty sure my hotel charges more then that in room tax. Not sure why it is tex mex by the way. Yes they have taco’s. But the menu is diverse and something to satisfy everyone.

I am surprised to be the first reviewer of this place, since it has been covered on and seems quite popular. Then again, it is stuck behind a freight entrance on 39th(at Seventh) and is now touted as «the garment district best kept secret.» Look for a sign outside the entrance. All that being said, this place does mostly greek and then some tex-mexy things such as tacos. I had the chicken quesadilla wrap with a greek salad. After tax it came to over eleven dollars, which I consider overpriced for a small(but tasty wrap) and a salad. There are much better deals out there when it comes to Mexican food. I will come back to try the skirt steak tacos, but unless they are of better value, the price is simply to high.
