First time we went to Morso it was great, this time a near disaster. Ordered a bottle of wine had to ask where it was. We waited close to 30 minutes for our entrée. Waiter was no where to be found, completely inattentive. One of the entrees fish was overdone and lacking the sauce. Our guest who ordered 2 appetizers sent one back it was dripping in grease and the other they doubled up. By that time we just wanted to leave. Too bad we raved about the restaurant to our guest.

First of all, the food was really so so. The service was, I dare say, BAD. Most of the dishes have either small or big portion to choose. When we ordered, the waitress didn’t ask us which portion we wanted and brought us the big ones, which were too much. Most importantly, no one brought us the menus until we waited for 20 minutes and asked. It took 30 minutes for the dishes to come. No one asked us if everything was good during the meal. When we finally got the check, another 15 minutes passed and no one came back for collecting the cards, which made one of my friends bring the cards to the front desk. It took another 10 minutes for them to process the transactions, of course. I was very unhappy about the service and complained the issue to the hostess. Guess what she said? «You don’t have a reservation. The waitress had to serve another group who had a reservation and spent a big amount of money.» Does that mean if you don’t have a reservation, you won’t get a decent service even you pay an automatic gratuity? I understand that restaurants could be busy sometimes. But you should have told your clients and apologized for the late service. I get neither from Morso. The hostess’ attitude was simply intolerable.

slow and bad service. I don’t recommend this restaurant. Waited 15 min for the menu; 15 for checks; 15 for card processing. Waitress didn’t ask us about any options. She just went for the one with highest price.

We live around the corner, and decided to give it a shot since our favorite Italian spot closed a while ago, wanted another option within a block. There was nothing spectacular about it from beginning to end. Venue/ambiance: just O.K. Food/wine selection: mediocre Service: ok.

Whoever is running this place is doing a fantastic job. The food was so fresh and delicious. The service was sophisticated, approachable, attentive without being intrusive. Clean, beautiful dining room. The menu is big with a sense of traditional and contemporary Italian melding together beautifully and intelligently. This place is a gem. I will be back very soon.

Great, authentic Italian food in a lively, neighborhoody place. Mostly people from the Sutton Area. A bit noisy but friendly with very good service.

Highly recommend! Make sure to make a reservation in advance — it was pretty packed when I went. Since this was my first time at the restaurant, I did not know that the attire was a bit more on the dressy side. Everyone was very kind nevertheless! My husband and I had vegetable soup(kale, lentils, mushrooms), salmon, spaghetti rustica, and the chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious! Probably the best salmon I’ve ever had. Service was terrific as well. The decorations outside are lovely too. Beautiful ambiance. Will definitely return.

Morso is absolutely one of the best Italian restaurants in New York City. Food is fresh and made from the finest ingredients. Service is very attentive and wine is not expensive. Best part – no tourists, just locals. And locals in this neighborhood really know good food and service. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed our meal here. Servers were especially attentive but I am not sure whether that was because our dining companions were regulars. I’ll bet the place is even more lovely in the summer as there is a really nice patio that they open it as it gets warmer. The menu is extensive Italian and something whichever I found was unique is that the pasta entrees can be ordered in both large and small sizes; a real boon to an appetizer stuffed gullox for sure. They had so many daily specials that the servers had to write them all down. I had the soft shell crab special, but it was just average — covered in a caper sauce which was quite good. The artichoke salad was memorable. The bread service skipped the traditional butter or olive oil and instead presented with homemade ricotta. That was a really nice touch which I have not seen before. Several entrée pastas were excellent including one with chorizo instead of veal which I thought was tremendous. Regular spaghetti looked OK but the sauce looked like tomato and milk and was lacking in acidity. It wasn’t bad, just different. Table also had calamari, but I’d have rather had the squid. There was a kale side dish(these days obligatory for most restaurants — I hear Mickey D is going to nix the Shamrock shake in favor of Kale. That ought to be interesting). But I digress. It was good. All in all, a very acceptable cute little Italian. Had the pear tart. It was almost like a cake instead of the flaky crunchy brown-sugar concoction I was expecting. I think they missed the boat on that one. Check it out. You will probably not find James Beard sitting next to you but maybe that’s a good thing. Larry, signing off.

I have eaten here several times and have come to appreciate how good this place is. The pasta has always been superb — particularly the bucatini. The burata is delicious. I had a very special salad tonight — I had a late lunch and was not very hungry so I ordered a salad of fresh fava beans, tomatoes, cubed cheese, and shaved fresh artichokes in a light lemon dressing — very unique combination of flavors and textures. The service is attentive and professional. It’s pricey but worth it.

This is a well kept secret. Morso is such a fabulous restaurant. Chef Pino changes up his menu with the season. There is always a surprise waiting for your enjoyment. I think this is the most consistently good restaurant in Midtown. What a treasure!

Came to this place on a whim with my boyfriend. We were looking for something cute in the neighborhood and since we’ve tried almost all the«italian» joints, I picked this one. We were quite surprised when we walked in because its bigger than it looks from the outside. They have a nice outdoor area that was closed that night but would be great for a warm day brunch. We sat in a corner as we usually like to do and noticed that there were plenty of «regulars» at this place. I came to realize this is really a neighborhood joint. All in all this place is just OK at best. Expect the service to be that of people who don’t enjoy working there. Not once did they willingly check on us. Anytime we needed a server they had to be waved down, and I HATE doing that because its rude to me. My pasta was bland and my boyfriend’s osso buco was dry. I cant say I wouldn’t return out of sheer convenience, but i wont recommend it.

This is probably my favorite Italian restaurant in the city. The food never disappoints. The staff are very attentive and friendly. They really know the menu and are great at recommendations. The atmosphere is great recommend for groups in their private dining area or smaller groups. Bellissimo!

Went New Years eve, when anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Well, we were pleasantly surprised. The food and service were very good despite a sold out crowd and people waiting at the bar to be seated. We started with the fried artichoke salad and the roasted calamari, which were excellent. I opted for veal parm and she for the linguine vongole. We really enjoyed these dishes alot. For dessert, we shared a pear tart with gelato. Yummy. They also started off with these homemade hot popovers and fresh ricotta, which is reason enough to make a reservation. The wine we had was an excellent Prosecco and a really good primitivo. We’ll be back. Sometimes in Mondays there is also live music with a 50’s rock n roll band.

Wasn’t happy about the service at all. Bartender was not friendly enough and no greetings from him when I arrived. He was very chatty and accommodating only to his regular customers. I had to ask him for the food and wine menu. He didn’t even explain whatever specials they have, or whatever he could sell. Anyway, I ordered the Lobster D Fragavlio — sauce was watery and it didn’t taste anything special to me but ordinary sauce pasta. Lobster was too soft, saggy and kinda shredded already on the shell. Nothing is special about the food I ordered for $ 46 Wine is wine and I had the merlot-cab for $ 13 Since I came alone, I was placed by the edge of the bar section eating. I put my bag and 1 whole food shopping bag on my next seat. Bartender then said«I’d need that chair» without even saying excuse me or ma’am would you mind if??? Nothing but unfriendly service. He didn’t even ask how was the meal, or would I like something else like dessert. Nothing!!! He’s lucky I still gave him 20% tip! Ugghh!

This place is LOVELY!!! The professionalism with their staff is remarkable… The Italian Waiter I had paid extra attention to your needs… If something is not on the menu, He can alter it and add something, It almost felt like the waiter makes a decent salary working there…(I’m talking 60k maybe as A Waiter).Skirt Steak was great! Which I’m not even sure it was on the menu but i told him that’s what i was in the mood for. he brought it out and then i asked him, What sides can i get?! He goes whatever u want, The chef will make it. So i say Roasted Potatoes… Great spot… A bit quiet tho & the Drinks are cut & Dry… Its a classic spot so… Don’t expect strong signature drinks… but the food or the Skirt Steak i had was worth every penny

This isn’t a typical place I would choose on my own, but I was being treated to brunch so off I went. It’s a really cute, secluded restaurant nestled behind a luxury apartment building in Sutton Place. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside and it was so nice and quiet for a Sunday 1pm brunch, unlike the rest of Manhattan! Though their brunch options are extremely limited, I enjoyed the mushroom and onion omelette and added pecorino. What I really loved about it was that it came with salad on top! The omelette itself was like a pancake, and they put the pecorino chunks on top of the salad! A nice touch, and elegant presentation. The wait staff was very attentive, though it did take some time for them to take our orders. Overall, it’s a low-key spot with a luxury vibe, and the residents of the apartment building get a discount too!

Came here for NYE and although I was a little disappointed with the selection for holiday menu, I was thoroughly pleased with the service and ambience of the night. We made earlier reservations so it was just us and a few older couples who were obviously regulars due to their first name basis exchange with all staff members. Each table had new years festive dressing which was awesome given that we were heading to a bash later on in the night. The scallop oyster appetizer was amazing, perfectly seasoned and breaded. Unfortunately the entrees weren’t as amazing for the price tag. The osso bucco with vegetable risotto was large(good thing) but poorly seasoned(at least to my taste). It was very bland. My boyfriend got the raviloi which was actually pretty good. They had a live band playing who were amazing and the bartender is really great!

From the beginning to the end, this meal was fantastic. I came here with colleagues for a goodbye dinner, and it was a real surprise. I work in the area, and never knew Morso existed. Most everyone ordered cocktails, but I split a bottle of the house red with one colleague, and it was actually really great. For the appetizers, we split a series of them, the only vegetarian one was an asparagus gratin. It was delicious. They brought out two different bread courses — one was an asiago bread, almost like a popover. I am eating some fish, so I had the trout special for my main dish. It was SO delicious. The trout was beautifully cooked, with perfectly crisped skin. The trout was presented on a bed of warm, hearty lentils and garnished with a cream sauce that was divine. We opted out of dessert as we were all fuller than full, but we did all delight in some of the comped cookies. I can’t wait to take friends and family to Morso to experience another fantastic meal.
