We come here often as it has a great vibe and the food is eatable. We will not be back after today. Of course came for drinks after our brunch. My friend ordered Bullet bourbon on the rocks which runs $ 15 a drink at local restaurants and the whole damn city. The bartender stated he didn’t have it and said he could recommend a bourbon that is similar. We said ok and proceeded to have two of them. Come the tab, it was $ 70 for TWO drinks. If you are going to recommend a comp, it needs to be of the same price point and quality. Total scam.

LOVE the atmosphere here– have been back a few times w my husband who turned me onto this place. We start with the meatballs– though the last time they took it off the apps which was disappointing and made it an entrée. It’s a lot of meatballs as an entrée for some people(me!). Better to share. So had the Tuscan kale again– LOVE that. My other staple is the grilled chicken. Probably would give it 5 stars bc the food, service and décor is truly well put together. However, the last two times, when we came in as a party of two, at 5:30pm during the week, the hostess(not the same one also) gave us a snooty attitude when asking if we had a reservation. Now, if I wanted a snooty restaurant I have plenty of choices. But this place comes off so warm yet the first moment I’m greeted w an attitude. NOTHANKS. Both times we were showed a table(and they are SMALLTABLES) that were in the most awkward of spaces. Oh– the dining room was 90% percent EMPTY. When we asked for a different table we were told it was for people w a reservation. Nice customer service. Because we are paying customers there now. There were plenty of tables. So for the 2nd time in a row we found our way to the bar and got two bar stools. Needless to say the bar tenders have always been amazing and attentive. By the time we left at 6:45…the dining room was maybe 70% full– ok– so they had reservations… but still plenty of nicer two tops that my husband and I could have had dinner and shared a bottle of wine with. Also, when we said we would sit at the bar the hostess didn’t seem to really care that we weren’t satisfied– again– customer appreciation would have been nice. So 4 stars(probably should be 3) for ATTITUDE. The food is really terrific. I think they know that.

I stumbled across this restaurant while walking in Greenwich Village and decided to give it a try. I had their special of the day, which was a salad filled with pomegranate, cheese, cilantro, and walnuts, which was delicious. Since it was a beautiful day, and(luckily), the place wasn’t too busy yet, I decided to sit outside. The staff was nice, although I felt that my waiter was kind of on the impatient side. I would definitely come back here again!

Awesome Service, ambiance superb. The food is classic, from Italy. So I warn you, if you are an American Italian Lover… This place is not for you. If you are looking for homemade pastas and true Italian dishes, THISPLACEIFFORYOU. Try the lemon pasta… it’s an experience to live by.

Came here with a friend for a kind of late night dinner. Points for being open til midnight, Morandi. There was no real wait for us as we opted to take a smaller(admittedly a ‘lil cramped) table in the corner because who doesn’t like being cozy on a December night. I went for the Pici al limone which really hit the spot for me. I love anything lemon, so if you align with that on any level go for it. My friend had the Cacio e pepe which was solid as well(I stole a spoonful from her). Moderately priced Italian for the West Village. Great place to bring a date because of the dim lighting/quaint setup.

It was my first time here after a Mission Escape game and it was amazing. I got the lasagna which was cooked to perfection. It contained 3 meats and the sauce was flavorful. I also got the tiramisu and tried the fritters. I am the type of girl who goes to various places that serve the same cuisine and order the same things. Why? I am out to look for the best calamari and best tiramisu in NYC. I know i have yet to try more places but Morandi’s tiramisu was smooth, not to sweet and has the right mascarpone cheese/lady finger ratio. I love the lady fingers. They were light and fluffy. One thing that I forgot to try was the calamari so I hope to come back soon and get it!

Such a lovely little restaurant with elegant décor, attentive staff and delicious food. I had the pleasure of trying the minestrone and the linguine with clams. The minestrone was so fresh and tasted so good! The linguine was full of flavor and the clams were cooked perfectly. Just thinking about it is making me hungry all over again! The waitstaff is very attentive, but they never hover, and they’re so sweet. I’m glad I stumbled upon this place because I’ll definitely be returning!

Growing up in a mostly Italian family, I’ve been spoiled with good food all of my life. I hate going out for Italian because it hardly ever tastes like home. I have to say, though, I was impressed by Morandi. I was able to make a 7:00 Wednesday reservation the day beforehand. When we got there, we waited a couple of minutes to be seated. The restaurant was already crowded. We were placed at an awesome round table that was only booth seating. I thought the restaurant itself was cool — it gives you the feeling of being in an Italian wine cellar. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees to split. For the appetizer, we ordered burrata which was served with roasted tomatoes in olive oil with balsamic vinegar. It’s pretty hard to hate burrata anyway, but this was great. The tomatoes were actually pretty tasty. Also, the servers didn’t judge us when we needed extra bread for this… or when it became clear that we had inhaled the entire(fairly large) portion in about one minute flat. For our two entrees, we split the lemon pasta and the eggplant entrée. The kitchen pre divided the pasta for us which was really nice. The pasta was VERY lemony which I enjoyed a lot, but I could see where unsuspecting individuals might dislike this dish. I loved this though. The pasta itself was perfectly crafted and cooked. The eggplant dish was very interesting. Another pretty large portion, too. The half eggplant was stuffed with peppers, tomatoes, roasted onions, and bread chunks. Another great dish. We were so stuffed that I took most of the eggplant to go! Our total bill came to just around $ 60 for two people, which is a great deal ESPECIALLY for the quality of food. The service was good, too. Someone was always around to check in on us and everyone was pleasant. On our way out, six members of the staff said goodbye to us. Overall, Morandi is a solid restaurant that felt warm and inviting. I liked this place and would definitely go back.

The Morandi provides elegant casual and classy ambience. The guests and staff members are polite, prompt and cordial. This is my second visit and looking forward inviting my friends and family. A bit pricy but the quality of the food and beverages are flavorfull and punctual to the palate. I ordered a glass of Rammitello G exquisite!

Came here on a Friday night for dinner with some girlfriends and this place was bumping! Very lively and crowded right in the middle of the village. We had a reso, which seemed to be a good move based on the crowd. So we decided to share everything we ordered. For starters we got burrata, argula with shaved parm and lemon vinaigrette, and seafood fritto misti. These were all good but nothing above average. The shrimp in the fritto were huge with heads still on and actually a bit intimidating to eat with added challenge of it being deep fried. Onto primi and secondi… Pasta we had the famous lemon spaghetti and lobster special. The actual hand rolled noodles in the lemon pasta were amazing, but the lemon sauce they were in I found to be overpowering for my own taste. For $ 45 the lobster special could’ve used MORE lobster! We also had the meatballs and the skirt steak entrée with a side of Brussels sprouts. The steak was cooked perfectly, needed a bit of salt. The meatballs were really good and tender with a flavorful tomato sauce one of my favorites of this meal. So we also decided to force some dessert in there and got piece of the hazelnut cake. This was very mediocre and dry. Could’ve done without. Service here was great, very attentive with great table maintenance. For the overall amount of money spent on the meal I had higher expectations but there’s better Italian out in the city.

I had seen this place on the travel channel and was in the neighborhood so decided to try it. The tables are small and in close proximity to one another. This is probably typical for NYC restaurants, but not so much for me, so I just thought I would point it out. The waiter was nice and extremely helpful. He brought out water and bread. The bread was chewy, crusty, and soft on the inside, but it lacked a little flavor. They brought olive oil for the bread, but again I wish it had some spices in it or to go with it. I ordered the pici al limone. This was a homemade pasta in lemon sauce. It was outstanding! OMG, I am glad I came and that I got this. The pasta was homemade and out of this world delicious. It had a beautiful lemon sauce that was just the right balance of flavor. The portion was excellent size, not too large, not too small. I will definitely come back here when I am in the city. I also saw that they had cacio e pepe on their menu which was one of my favorite dishes in Italy, so I’ll have to try that next time.

Loved my lemon pasta. It was as delicious as everyone described. My friend has pasta with Bolognese sauce and she loved it as well. The drinks were good but my passion fruit drink was a bit sour. Overall, the outdoor seating was my favorite in addition the fantastic meal. The service was incredible. I will definitely be back for date night and for dinner with friends/

I got the linguine with clams($ 18), which was pretty standard, but my friend ordered the«Insalata di farro e pollo»($ 19), a salad with farro and grilled chicken, which was the standout of the meal. Another person ordered and enjoyed the meatball panini, which is served with a little dish of olives. The food is sort of expensive side for what it is, to be honest, but it’s not at all unreasonable for al fresco dining in the West Village. The desserts were great: The torta torinese($ 10), a dense chocolate and hazelnut cake served with hazelnut gelato, was the best, but the tiramisu($ 10) and sorbet(made in-house with fresh fruit) were also very good.

Went for dinner tonight and honestly, the food wasn’t bad and was reasonably priced, but everything seemed to be lacking some flavor or seasoning. Probably will not return with the huge number of great Italian restaurants in the area…

I’ve been here for dinner a couple times. Once with a friend and another time with my boyfriend. I went here recently during the week around 7pm with my sister — this review is based off that time since I don’t exactly remember what I ordered the other two times. I would recommend coming here for dinner with a friend or group of friends. When I came here with my boyfriend for dinner on a Saturday for a date around 8pm, it was very loud and hard to hear one another. So I wouldn’t come here if you’re looking for a romantic date setting. Definitely great food and fun, casual atmosphere. It’s just on the loud side when it gets to be around 8pm or on the weekend. It was not noisy during the week around 7pm. RESTAURANTOVERVIEW: –Rustic italian trattoria vibe — wooden beams on the ceiling, exposed brick, archways –Spacious with lots of tables inside and a few outside(when it’s warm) –Tables available for big groups, small groups, or for two –Gets kind of loud at busy dinner hours and on weekends, so romantic dates are not ideal APPS: –Focaccia Prosciutto & Rucola: This was DELISH! This came on toasted flat, thin focaccia bread. It came with stracchino cheese melted on top, which was sooo tasty. Topped with fresh prosciutto and arugula. Fantastic app, I definitely recommend this. DINNER: –Pici al Limone: My sister and I both got this. I know it sounds simple, but trust me — this is AMAZING. It’s one of those meals that you get sad about ending when you take your first bite. The pasta was thick and hand-rolled and perfectly textured. It tasted so fresh! The lemon tasted like it was infused into the pasta, and was covered with the right amount of parmesan cheese and some pepper. Loved this dish! I would definitely get this one again. SERVICE: –A bit slow for not the most crowded of times, but the waiter was very nice.

My first anniversary lunch was here and I loved it! Don’t miss out the antipasti mix– full of colors and flavors– a perfect way to open the meal! We ordered red wine and 2 more dishes to share and it was just right, and of course we had Afugato for desert! Yammy! The staff was very nice and professional, we had a great time there!

Was looking for a brunch spot after some light shopping on a Sunday and stumbled across this place. Heard the name and it looked cute so decided to enter with my guy friend. We were dressed in workout clothes. He was in male work out clothes(grey sweats and a white shirt, nothing fancy). He went in first while I finished a phone call and they were trying not to seat him but when I came in and they saw I was with him and had my Lululemon Outfit on, suddenly they had tables open. Magical! Now I know NYC is like this and I am not complaining, Just stating this so you can get the vibe of the place. Morandi tries to go for this authentic, rustic look. It failed. It’s too rustic for me. The floor is uneven so the chairs and table wobble, the walls feel like caves(scratched myself against it) and the seating is very uncomfortable. Brunch was not good at all. Both our dishes(French Toast, Frittata and I forgot the other) were not tasty. Service was horrible and our waitress was a bit rude. Not going to mention her name because I get it, people have bad days especially a busy brunch day and I’m not going to get her potentially fired over this but just pointing this out so Morandi can fix this issue. I would not come back. Far better places to have brunch in the area. Only thing that was good was the Mimosa.

Aaron is the greatest bartender! I wanted an elderflower drink and they didn’t have one she he just created one for me. Wow so amazing. Go Aaron. My friend Katie got the tequila pepper drink and she loved it: also made by Aaron who is the man! Aaron is from Colorado and he has been here for 2 years and is very personable and outgoing. His friend Sean gave us a great strong mojito for free and not too sweet. Quite strong. Good work Sean. Palumbo is very accommodating and friendly.

Delicious meal! Had the fried artichokes, mozarella and for entrees salmon and the lasagna. My favorite dish was the lasagna. It tasted like a true home cooked meal. Although any of their dishes with a bottle of wine would truly be amazing. There’s a reason why it’s always packed. The inside décor reminded me of eating dinner in a wine cellar or something. Our waiter was great and helpful with wine recos. I would love to come back to try brunch.

Boisterous, fun and the BEST steak I’ve had in the city. We ordered many cocktails and two glasses of wine. I’m sure they were pricey, I don’t remember. To start: The fava bean salad came with delicately sliced fresh favas with pecorino and escarole. The texture was amazing. Entrée: We split a steak for two. Crispy and soft new potatoes laced with Rosemary and fried shishito peppers. Sometimes steak on the bone is a little raw when you ask for medium rare. The steak was a perfect medium rare, perfectly seasoned. It needed no sauce. Amazing. The space is beautiful with an «Italian» brasserie feel. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We sat at the bar. The three stars is because the staff and service is rude and unsavory. It’s such an elegant spot and pretty pricey it would be nice if the staff were as well trained in courtesy and graciousness as they were in serving the food.
