The meatballs are out of this world! I had pork chicken and beef and all were awesome. The risotto was cold and not very flavorful. But this place is super worth it non the less. If you like polenta, which I don’t, you’ll like the polenta here.

Meatball shop is my JAM! Not super fancy, more on the chill side with amazing food. They have new specials every day that are awesome! I always do bun-less beef balls with spicy sauce(insert joke here) and their risotto, spaghetti or vegetables. I’ve eaten here about a dozen times and NEVER left disappointed. Anything you order will be delish, this place does no harm. Service is great, drinks are awesome(try the homemade lemonade) and they’re always playing Lauryn Hill and old school hiphop in the background. Whether you’re coming for a quick lunch, dinner or even just for dessert(you HAVE to try their homemade ice cream sandwiches… brown sugar ice cream with oatmeal raison cookies is a knock-out) I highly recommend this place!

I came for Sunday brunch and since it was my first time, the waiter was very kind and explained how to order(you check the boxes on the laminated pages for the items you want! really great concept). My friend and I ordered one brunch item of biscuits & gravy with beef meatballs and a classic dish of the naked balls(beef) with their classic tomato with a side of broccoli. The food came out pretty quickly and everything was delicious. The texture of the meatballs was good and not dry. And I really enjoyed both the gravy and classic tomato sauces. The biscuits were on the dry side in my opinion, and I wish they poured more gravy over it. The broccoli was cooked well and not too hard or soft.

This place is good I just don’t love it the way other people do. I think it’s cheap and a good spot for dinner when you don’t know where to eat. It’s more like your fall back choice than a unique New York dinning experience. The positive side is that it’s in a fun area.

I have came here about two or three times in the past and it is a great go to spot for late dinners and drinks. The noise level is quite loud and it is dimly lit. I took off one star because the food can be inconsistent here sometimes. I always get the veggie meatballs with spaghetti and tomato sauce. Sometimes it’s super good and you can’t tell it apart from regular meatballs. Other times it was quite dry and I has to eat a lot of pasta to make up for it. The cocktails that they have are quite good. For Cinco de mayo they had $ 5 blackberry margaritas and I have also tried their Moscow Mule cocktail. Service is always great over here though. Servers are young and super friendly. They are also very attentive too throughout the meal.

Great atmosphere. Great meatballs. Spicy pork meatballs and spicy meat sauce are my favorite. Homemade ice cream sandwiches are pretty legit too!

Meatballs were yummy albeit a little small. They were delicious though. Tried the all beef with tomato sauce and 2 special ones. They were like a taco meatball. The garnish of cilantro, green salsa and sour cream made them really shine. Next time I’ll order the 4 meatballs plate all Special if it’s still the taco ones. Brown Sugar ice cream was the surprise treat of excellence. The flavor was so sweet and unusual. Would definitely go back for more. Service friendly and helpful.

I will make this short and sweet. Let me tell you how much I loved everything about this place! The meatballs were delicious! Hubby and I got the chicken pesto meatballs, spicy pork slider, Buck mini balls(taste just little buffalo wings!) and classic salad! Meatballs were so flavorful and cooked just right. The portions were perfect. Ambiance, the energy and attitude the manager Jennifer and employees were awesome! Cool little spot, never dined at a community table till I got here in NYC. which was fine! Hopefully some day meatball shop will come to California! Thank you Jennifer for the warm welcome for us out of staters!

I love this place. I love its food, I love it’s menu & I love it’s staff. It’s warm, inviting & most importantly, the meatballs are fantastic! The menu allows you to personally tailor your own dining experience, by offering a large range of both meatballs & sauces. Further options include options on how you’d like your meatballs served; on a slider, with pasta/salad or on their own. I also found the wine here to be a nice offering because really, what’s Italian food without paired wine?! Struggling to make a decision, I opted for the Sliders so that I was able to sample a range of meatballs & sauces. All 3 were delicious. With a good number of locations throughout NYC, it’s a great place for a weary traveller or local to rest their feet after a day of exploring the city.

Tough to write this as I have usually had good experience at The Meatball Shop. Food was good but just not as good as in the past. Beef balls were good. The daily risotto was very under cooked. One could argue that was their intention but no way. Focaccia bread had a hard to bite into exterior, just very bland. Service was 50⁄50. Excellent waiter. Food came out way too fast. No time to relax and enjoy my drink. This was the worst part, the bus staff kept walking by looking longingly at my plate. At one point, I laid my fork down for a second and he tried to clear my table. Sadly, it was because they were busy. It was dinner hour and it was slow. I also got dessert, fresh mint ice cream. It had ice pieces in it. Sad way to end. I think I’m done with The Meatball Shop.

I’ve been to other Meatball Shop locations but this was my first time at their West Village location! I got here early on a Thursday night and ate dinner at the bar, where my friend and I were served quickly. If there’s a wait for a table it’s a nice neighborhood to wander around. He ordered the classic beef meatballs with tomato sauce over risotto, and I ordered the«the kitchen sink» with veggie balls and tomato sauce and a side of the daily vegetable, which that day was fingerling potatoes with chorizo and scallions(aka no vegetables). The kitchen sink would have been plenty without the side of potatoes! Both dishes were great and the price is hard to beat. We split an ice cream sandwich(vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two soft oatmeal cookies) and it was the perfect way to end the meal! They serve it with spoons so it’s very easy to split, and the size makes it conducive to do so. Overall, the food is great, the portion sizes are generous, and it’s relatively inexpensive!

The meatballs are out of this world! The menu can get a little pricey. I recommend doing the meatballs that come in 4. You can choose your own meatball, sauce, and you can choose if you would like a fried egg over the top or not. I went with the classic meatball, pesto, and fried egg. AMAZING! The pesto was a little heavy, but the meal as a whole was filling and satisfying. I couldn’t even finish for meatballs. My friend ate the last one. And of course, you can’t forget about dessert! Make sure to get the ice cream sandwich which is A giant scoop of ice cream snacks between two giant cookies. Again you can build your own. We got snickerdoodle cookie and espresso ice cream. Definitely get to spoons! I will be back again. And again after that! I really love this place.

Cool cozy spot with great service. Lots of different meatball options and sauce combinations. I added a few sliders to my choices so I could taste some different meatballs. Unique way of ordering by writing on the menu with a dry erase marker. You basically choose a type of meatball and a type of sauce combination. I liked the spicy pork meatballs and the mushroom gravy sauce. I also did the classic beef with classic meat sauce which was a delicious safe bet. Definitely worth a try. I’m looking forward to going back

Eating here has become a tradition whenever I visit NYC! I love this place! Each time, we’ve been greeted warmly and friendly, and whoever waits on us always takes good care of us. This visit we had Noah. They were busy, but we were able to get two seats in the window. Great place to watch New Yorkers strolling by. I ordered the beef meatballs with their amazingly delicious pesto sauce over broccoli and cheddar risotto… deeeeeeeelish! Scooter had the chicken meatballs with that same amazingly delicious… did I say that already? Can’t say it enough… over white beans. We also ordered the meatball of the day, ground corned beef, sauerkraut, and pork, with a thousand island sauce… sort of like a reuben… very very good! Me: What’s the cookie and ice cream of the day? Noah: You’ve been here before… ginger and m*** cookie… and Scooter: Did you say meth? Noah laughing: Mint Me: I thought he said meth too It was loud near the door, so we heard otherwise… LOL! The ice cream was white chocolate and rhubarb… they both made a delicious ice cream cookie sandwich that we shared. So you see why I love coming here? I’ll probably be back one more time… hopefully two!

I’ve been to the UWS location and loved it, so we were in the area and had to stop by here for lunch to escape the single digit temperature outside. As usual, the food tastes great, but something I’ve noticed is that it’s a bit pricey. Didn’t think I’d spend over $ 20 for lunch, but no complaints other than that! The spicy pork meatballs with the spicy meat sauce is the best!

An assortment of meatballs served in various ways. Such a great concept! I sat at the bar and ordered the naked balls. As part of this entrée, you: 1. choose a meatball(beef, spicy pork, chicken, veggie, or daily special) 2. choose a sauce(classic tomato, spicy meat, mushroom gravy, parmesan cream, pesto, daily special). This dish is served with 4 meatballs slathered in sauce and topped with parmesan cheese. A side of focaccia bread accompanies this dish. The restaurant is very strict with its one sauce policy but allows customers to order an extra sauce on the side for an additional cost. I went with chicken meatballs in a spicy meat sauce along with a side of parmesan cream sauce. The chicken meatballs were flavorful, soft, and moist. The spicy meat sauce complemented the meatballs with some added heat. I’m glad I chose this as my main sauce because the parmesan cream sauce was too rich for my liking and cloyed after a few bites. Overall, The Meatball Shop is a place that caters to varying taste buds, from vegetarians to meat-eaters alike.

I’m not a huge fan of meatballs but this place is pretty decent. They give you a marker to mark on the menu. I got the naked balls with pesto sauce. A side of spaghetti and sauteed broccoli The meatballs were pretty big; for 9 bucks it comes with 4. I think the pesto sauce was average– could use more salt. The classic meatball is the way to go– marinara sauce. Broccoli was average but the spaghetti was really good. I think it’s the type of noodles they use. We also got jello shots($ 4 each) — not sure what was in it but it was good. Sorry for the bad pictures– the lighting was bad in there and I didn’t want to use flash.

Definitely a foodie destination. The staff was super friendly though it was pretty busy for 3pm on a Saturday. Decided to order from their regular menu instead of brunch because you get 2 more meatballs. I love the wide selection and daily specials they have. You choose from a list the type of meat, sauce, and two sides with the option the being under your food or on the side with each order. There’s also sandwich options and salad options. If you like variety then I would recommend giving it a try. The classic beef with mushroom gravy sauce and risotto was so good and extremely filling. The classic beef with pesto was another good choice. They definitely don’t hold back on the pesto.

5 stars because this shop opens until 2AM! After a night of casual drinking, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon The Meatball Shop. We or should I say mostly I, was so delighted to see that it was open at 1:30am! Not only is it so awesome eating meatballs in the AM but we(almost) had the whole restaurant to ourselves(the only other table was a group of three men eating balls together hahah ok). No long waits, no crowded lines to the bathroom and no noisy ambiance! The host rushed us to order since the kitchen was closing soon. It took us a while to figure out what we wanted(poor waiter) because everything on the menu looks so good at 1:30AM! I’ve been here before so I was like why not try something new. Which ended up us being all like let’s GOSPICY or go home. Needless to say we made a great choice. Spicy pork + spicy sauce = so good. We also tried the special but I preferred the former. Also tried the hero with spicy pork and mushroom gravy but meh. BF loved it though. Couldn’t fit the dessert in the belly this time around but TMS definitely makes some tasty ice cream cookie sandwiches! They have a variety of cookies and ice cream flavors you can mix and match with. I usually go with vanilla bean on snickerdoodle. Overall, great experience. Would definitely recommend people to go at 1am. Faster service and no wait. Win win yeah?

It’s okay. I have a few yeahs and a few nays! Yeahs: the chicken and the spicy pork meatballs are amazing! The veggie platter is awesome, I love all what’s on it! Nays: the veggie balls are quite disgusting. Has anyone tried them in the kitchen??! The bread tastes stale. For real, great bread is not hard to acquire.(Clearly, don’t order a veggie meatball on bread haha). If I go back, it would be a chicken meatball on a veggie platter.
