I should have paid attention to the reviews which said the delivery times were ridiculous. Despite my assurance that it would take 40 minutes, I waiting over 1.25 hours and while the burgers were great, fries were cold. What is so hard about getting deliveries right?

I’m a frequent take out customer and realized I never finished my review. This rating is based on my initial and continued experience with Milk Burger. I’m giving this establishment a 5 star rating for its amazing food and excellent customer service. About three years ago(I know, I’m quite the procrastinator) my friend and I decided to treat a coworker for lunch on her birthday. She decided on MB. Upon arrival we realized it was not an «eat in» restaurant. There were 2 benches and a few stools. The owner immediately made accommodations for us to stay and brought up extra stools. He explained that 85% of customers ordered take out. He made recommendations on what to eat. He explained all items were fresh and made to order. When he heard it was my coworkers birthday he brought out a corn muffin with a candle and played 50 cent’s «go shorty, it’s your birthday». It was so fun and thoughtful! I ordered the fish burger, my friends ordered a guac burger and a bacon cheeseburger. I ordered the lemonade and they ordered milk shakes. Let me just say, that fish burger with the pico de gallo was out of this world. It was light, crisp and flavorful. My friends enjoyed their burgers and shakes. I order lunch from here often since I work close by. If you don’t eat beef like myself I would recommend the fish burger, chicken sandwich, portobello burger, turkey burger and the all of the salads. If ever in Harlem, stop by and try this place, it’s so worth it!

Ordered 1÷9÷2015 via Delivery Went to Grubhub and found this place. After some research on Unilocal,I decided to order since the reviews were awesome and the pics posted were too good to pass up. I ordered at 8pm for 2 burgers, 1 fries, 1 onion rings and a Oreo Milkshake(Total $ 30) and paid with CC through the Milkburger website for delivery and was given a waiting time of 48 mins. Here what happened next– Waited till 9pm, called Milk Burger and they had no idea about my order so I had to wait again. The excuse«Well, we are busy.» Then called at 9:50 and was told my order would be leaving soon… Now when I ordered I wrote the proper address on my order and whomever typed it up wrote it wrong(I have the proof) and sent the poor delivery man to the wrong address which became a nice game of phone tag. After getting our food, which arrived at 10:15FREEZINGCOLD, like it was sitting out for awhile-fries/onion rings were soggy… had to reheat. Then we sat down and ate– Burger: OK, tiny and nothing out of the ordinary Fries and Onion Rings– Plain and soggy– trashed them Oreo Milkshake– DEFINITELYNOT worth the $ 7 Wasted of money ESPECIALLY since we later realized we could have ordered delivery from McDs and got 2 hot Big Macs with Lg fries, 2 drinks and 1 Oreo Mcflurry for cheaper. Would give 1 star for price and food received but giving 2 because: 1) Delivery Guy was awesome 2) Somehow we received an extra burger and milkshake which since we was starving after waiting so long plus we didn’t even finish the fries or onions rings helped.

Get the sweet potato fries with truffle oil and the good ol milk Burger~ Addictive– my roommies and I order from here at least twice a week. Delivery times are a little slow(around an hour) and we live four blocks away. Still– with some prior planning– its totally worth it to order~!

A small, unassuming Burger joint with an open kitchen(that is always busy and always clean) and counter top seating for fewer than a dozen folks. The burgers are straightforward and delicious, grilled to order with respectable tomatoes(not those tasteless strip-mined things you find at other places) and quality meat(the beef, turkey and bacon). In fact, it may be the only turkey burger I’ve ever had that was actually tasty and, somehow, not gummy as they often tend to be. They have delicious crinkle-cut fries(in addition to straight fries and sweet potato fries) that you can order with or without Cajun seasoning. Try them. They also offer a fantastic vanilla & Café Patron milkshake. Writing this review and thinking about the Jalapeño Burger honestly makes my mouth water! I live in Brooklyn, now, and I still come up to East Harlem for a burger now and then; it’s that good.

I always do my due diligence when it comes to researching reviews before buying/ordering from a business. I was really looking forward to ordering from Milk Burger but I have to say my experience was less than desirable. I ordered two single burgers, a side salad, and fries. For almost $ 33, the burgers were small. The fries were mushy and not crisp at all. They gave me one very small container of dressing for the salad. I received an e-mail that they had«adjusted» the price and added an additional $ 3 for adding cheese to a burger that was already supposed to include that in the price. Delivery took longer than the ETA that was given. And although the food was satisfactory in taste overall, the experience was not great.

Best burgers and shakes in Spanish Harlem! Burgers are similar to shake shack style without all the fussiness and lines… The guys there are really passionate in what they’re doing and if you say medium/well done they make it that way… Love this place!

In the heart of Harlem is Milk Burger. They do a decent job of serving a decent burger, but lacks some sort of special quality next to burger joint contenders in spite of a menu that seems so original and promising. It was unfortunately a less than spectacular burger experience. Some burger options we tried — The Guacaburger(freshly made authentic guacamole on top of a cheeseburger), the Double Milk Burger(American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and Milk Sauce), and the Double Jalapeño Burger(Black Angus, Jalapeño relish and melted Monterey Jack cheese). Overall the burgers were good, but I thought the beef was slightly overcooked and maybe a little dry in terms of texture, and hence, lost a lot of the flavor/juiciness. Interestingly, the cheese was the least favorite part of all the burgers. The bun is a standard potato bun, which is a great choice for a burger no matter what. Amongst all the burgers we each tried, I would say the Double Milk Burger(which I suppose is the original of them all) was the best. It must contain some sort of secret sauce, but whatever it may be, it adds something to the Milk Burger that lacks in the others. While the appearance of their burgers is reminiscent to say Shake Shack, this just doesn’t compare. And maybe that’s what they are going for, or not. Either way, I/we weren’t impressed. The fries and onion rings we ordered to share didn’t save us from our disappointments. Their crinkle cut fries were super flavorless and while I normally love onion rings, I wasn’t a fan of these at all. This is a really small restaurant with little to no seating. On a nice day though, there is a table outside with a few seats. I was a bit disappointed by our first visit to Milk Burger as our anticipations were high based on a strong recommendation. It is certainly not Shake Shack or better, and I wouldn’t go out of your way to Harlem for this. If you are planning on it though, a safe bet is their Milk Burger. You could honestly skip the fries.

The first time I laid eyes on this small/whole in the wall deliciousness was about two years ago, and then I moved three blocks away: DANGEROUS. I walked in and found out I got a free milkshake on my birthday, so of coarse I knew I was coming back for the free item. At this given moment I had NO clue what was about to happen. I met the owner that day and we were just chatting away and then I spilt the beans about me being a food blogger/food critic. we started talking about ALL the burger spots I need to try and compete with. I started my mission after I left this place that I wanted to try ALL the great commonly eaten burger spots!!! (1) I always rate my first experience on walking into the building(greeting, the flow of the staff, and overall CUSTOMERSERVICE. They asked me all the questions that MOST burger spots forget too ask(how would you like it cooked? what type of fries even if its an up sale, what would you like to drink, hello don’t you think I would be thirsty??). In the end I still was under 15 bucks, sooo no complaints. Price and affordability is always in place(2) I think its NYC prices, but I always think about where I can get a bang for my buck. In fact I rather go to Milk burger before any other spot because I rather support a Ma & Pa. I mean I don’t know many people who haven’t heard of Milk Burger(most haven’t tried it), but EVERYONE including tourist know about Shake Shack. I defiantly believe its worth checking it out so you can have your own opinion. (3) I was talking with the owner about placement of each item. I’ve also noticed every time I’ve order take out the staff is very very clean, organized, and always work as a team. I’m sure working as a team helps the process, gets my tasty food out hot and delicious. This allows for great presentation and consistency with placement. EVERY time I ordered milk burger as delivery it was always perfect, snug in its wrapping, NEVER moved, harmed or out of place(ever)… With all these things mixed together this is why I’ve chosen Milk Burger as my TOP burger choose. I’m always a VERY satisfied customer

Great burgers, but needs to work on the portion side. Way way too small. Paid for a $ 10 sandwich and it was the size of my palm. Would’ve been a great alternative for Shake Shack if the portion increased.

Came in for the first time tonight after not the greatest day(2 hours stuck underground on the train anyone?). Needless to say, I was HANGRY. The laundromat next door also wasn’t done with my clothes when they said they would be but anywho… Walked in, the place is tiny but they were completely slammed. The sheer amount of burgers being turned out got me thinking this place was something special. Checked out the menu and noticed their little bit about ordering from instead of those greedy grubhubbers with their ridiculous commission. Interesting. I settled on the El Barrio with bacon, egg, jalapeño and a side of fries. Waited around for a bit, the music was cool but like I said, the place is TINY. They do need a better waiting area. Got my food and 35 lbs of laundry and finally set off to home. Tore open my bags and what do I find? 3 burgers and a salad that I didn’t order. I was starving and confused. Not to mention I was totally set on fries after the day I’d had. What the hell was I gonna do with a salad? Give me all the carbs. Either I was handed the wrong food or totally jacked someone in my hangry daze. The last one is a possibility, I move like a ninja when there’s food involved. You must be asking yourself, why the five stars after all of this? Let me tell you. I called the restaurant and they couldn’t have been cooler about the whole thing! I live only a few blocks away and they were nice enough to deliver what I ordered straight to my door. They also let me keep the food that I didn’t pay for. My 2 roommates were completely stoked. It almost made up for the fact that I didn’t call them and tell them I was getting milkburger in the first place. Customer service at its finest. Oh, and the food was epic too. Hats off, milkburger. Keep doing your thang.

This place is up there, it’s pretty high up like borderline Harlem and honestly, it felt a tad out of place when you look at the surroundings. So Milk Burger is a really tiny, think fast food Chinese take out, burger joint that feels like a distant cousin to Shake Shack. It kinda has the some look but the feel is completely different. Seating is almost non existent, there are about 7 counter seats by the window and one table outside and it is hot inside. In terms of the burgers, they come out well done, on the website’s delivery section they offer different doneness levels, not sure why this wasn’t offered when I went, also I wasn’t a fan of the texture of the beef. Beef had this weird consistently that I wasn’t crazy about. I thought the choice of bun was great since it was a potato bun but I was not a fan of their cheese, the American cheese had a low quality feel, kinda like Mcd’s cheese. The food: Double Milk Burger– American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and MilkSauce. This was the clear winner of the burgers we picked. The MilkSauce was really good, it feels like some kind of mayo combo but the flavor really works well with burger. Double Jalapeño burger– Black Angus burger, Jalapeño sauce and melted jack cheese. This burger was greasy! It was oozing grease even before the burger was picked up. The spice level was minimal, the flavor of the burger was just OK. Double Guacaburger– Freshly made authentic Guacamole on top of a cheeseburger. This was probable the most unique burger they offered and one of their most popular sellers. I thought the guac was nice, it had a little bit of heat but for me, I don’t think it complemented the burger. I love guac and avocados but this didn’t work on their burger. Fries– Everyone I came with were not fans of their fries. The fries were crinkle cut, not crunchy, lifeless and clearly came from a bag they pulled from the freezer. It kinda felt like fries at a cafeteria or something you get at Great Adventure. Pretty disappointing. Onion Rings– I normally love onion rings but the ones here were kinda meh and too salty. The rings were also too crunchy, felt like I was going to crack a tooth.

I’ve only got delivery off of seamless, but no regrets. I love simple menus… burgers, fries, and milk shakes. What more can a girl ask for? The burgers are good, try the milk burger. It boasts of Angus beef and their secret milk sauce. I always opt for regular fries, but they also have spicy fries, cheese fries, etc. Let me not forget the milk shakes. I’ve tried all the flavors… ALL of them. My favorite is their strawberry… of course.

* Overall they reminded me of The Shake Shack… Except less Fancy with Higher prices & Worst fries! * Little whole in da wall located with very limited seating inside. Burgers are about a 10 minute wait. The inside was filled with smoke, made it extremely stuffy. This spot definitely needs a stronger exhaust. Who would want there cloths smelling like grease & smoke! I ordered the Double Milk Burger! It was great, the patties were perfectly cooked & juicy well seasoned. The milk sauce was banging, picture horse relish mix with mayo yummy! The fries were nothing special. They were definitely not the fries in the previous Unilocal photos. They reminded me of over cooked crinkle fries I use to eat in school… FYI: Free Delivery!

The burger is just okay. Third choice after Joy and Shake Shack. It is meaty alright so if that shakes your boat maybe this is the place for you. And the fact that it’s primarily a take out join makes it a bit tricky for your fries. We took out the guac burger, double milk burger, spicy fries(really spicy) and half/half shake. I’ll come back for the shake. But not rushing back for the burgers.

It really makes me upset that this place isn’t more popular, only because such crap burgers become«hip» in new york city and people who need to feel a part of a movement need to flock to them to be included. If you like shake shack, you really don’t know what you’re missing. This is the most decadent yet not greasy and gross hamburger you will ever have. The meat is seared and then steamed with the cheese on top, the bun is perfect, the toppings are creative and amazing. Also, I’m not one for cheese fries but their are amazing. If you like Schneppers, Clarks, or Shake Shack, you’ll love this upper scale version of a similar burger.
