Not that this establishment needs any more negative reviews, but these people are scam artists. I walked in to do an eye test to renew my NYS driver’s license. They told me they could do it for $ 35, cash only, and I’d need to come back with an appointment. I left. I just got the eye test done at another similar Manhattan store, for $ 10 and a quick walk-in.

I was told that they took my health insurance(United Healthcare) and for some reason now i’m being billed $ 75 for a simple eye exam(took about 5 minutes). My invoice says that they initially billed United Healthcare $ 300 dollars… This place seems like a scam.

The receptionist and Dr. Tisch were incredibly rude. The receptionist actually rolled her eyes at me when I asked a question about my insurance! I noticed customers are treated like burdens, plus the place is musty and dirty. AVOID!

This is one of the worst eye care shop you would get on Planet Earth. I asked them for my prescription and they hung up on me 3 times. Then, they picked up and said to me that it would take them 5 days to mail the prescription to me saying they were«busy». Please avoid, there should be plenty of other around with a better service then this.

Worst eye doctor ever! Avoid at all costs. Took the glasses that I bought here to be repaired on 9⁄5 and it was supposed to take a week. It is now 11⁄3 and they never sent them in to be repaired. The staff is slow, and intelligence is questionable at best.

I like Dr. Miles but I do not like the staff. They are very very slow. I also tried to get them to email me my prescription by calling and leaving my email address FOUR times and still nothing. It’s 2015… it is not that hard to email a document.

I would rather go blind than have these«doctors» go anywhere near my eyes again. All they want is your money. Total scam. The doctor would only tell me about contact lenses that cost a fortune and were not covered by my insurance. I had to do the homework to find an affordable option. Next year I called them to order more contacts. After not hearing from them for two weeks I had to call them 4 times just for them to tell me that they discontinued that brand of contacts, they had no record of me calling and that I needed to come in for another fitting.

I would give this place ZEROSTARS if possible, because it is one of the worst establishments in the world. It is dirty, small, cramped, and full of incompetent, poorly dressed, rude people. I called and confirmed they took my insurance. I made an appointment for an eye exam. When I arrived, I was told they did not take my insurance, the girl on the phone was mistaken(though no one would admit who had been on the phone with me), and I was told to leave. I was not offered to have an exam and pay by cash, nor was I offered an apology. They simply«could not help me» and didn’t want my business. While I stood at the counter, the three women behind it commenced to talking to themselves and ignored me until I left. A few hours later the doctor called me to say there had been a misunderstanding, and they did indeed take my insurance. But he could make no explanation for the behavior of his staff. Never, EVEREVER attempt to give these people your business. They are bad human beings, and stupid as well.

I like the convenience of the clinic as it is in my neighborhood. I walked in and made an appointment and handed the front desk my insurance card and made an appointment for an hour later. I came back and they had me fill out the required paperwork and then proceeded to tell me(after I waited an hour for my appointment) that they don’t take my insurance. The office is extremely crowded, unorganized and unaccommodating. I had 2 scratches on my cornea and was in pain. They didn’t care that they ‘made a mistake’. STAYAWAY.

Stay away! It’s always, the staff seems always flustered, unorganized and overworked. They can never find your prescription. I had to wait several weeks for my contact to come in(or they could never just find it) I went there because it was close to my apartment, but I had the last straw when I need a 1 minute exam to get driver license(that’s all it took at AAA) and they told me to come back. Ridiculous.

Wow, after an unpleasant experience with this place, I figured let me go check their reviews on Unilocal.I really can say that I am not in the least bit surprised by all the negative reviews. I advise anyone to Stay Far away from this place. My company(a law firm where many people will be looking for eye care services) moved, and I had to find a new place to fill my contact lens prescription. I took my prescription(on 1÷16÷15) to Miles and Tisch Eye care and placed an order for $ 90 for daily contacts. It is now 2÷4÷15 and I still do not have my contacts or an explanation. Do they think this is acceptable? How am I supposed to function without my normal contacts? I am growing more and more frustrated as I think anyone who forked over 90 dollars would. They told me 7 days. Which was a long time to begin with but now it’s almost three weeks? Actually more than 3 weeks. I often travel and go on vacation. for them to be unable to turn this around within an acceptable time frame is just flat out PATHETIC. Customers will grow angry. I have been in the store on two occasions, and both times no one seems to know what is going on. Not to mention the place is always a zoo– long waiting around to just pick up contacts. I have called the office now on 4 occasions, every time I repeatedly give my last name and ask for a status update on my contacts. Each time, I call and a woman tells me someone will call me back. I have NOT received a call back once. This is what enrages me. Just have a professional call me back and explain the situation — treat me with some respect and explain why there is such a delay. this is flat out rude and horrible customer service. I don’t’ understand how a business can operate like this. They were so quick to take my $ 90. But yet are ducking me when I go to get them or call about them? I honestly feel like calling the better business bureau on this place. I feel like I’m being scammed and treated like DIRT! I previously also had a prior negative experience with this place when I brought my Gucci Sunglasses. I took them in here to fix a loose screw, they told me no problem they’d have it fixed right away and call me back once done. A couple of days later, I go in to get my sunglasses… and nothing had been done. Here I am going on vacation and need my sunglasses. They said they wouldn’t fix it because they didn’t want to be held accountable if anything breaks while they replaced the screw. are you kidding me? ok well if they can’t fix it why wouldn’t they call me and tell me to come in and pick up my sunglasses so I COULDGOELSEWHERE??? instead they sat on my sunglasses for several days and NOPHONECALL. waste of time– they have no respect for their customers time. so frusturating. I took my sunglasses elsewhere– and they fixed them in no time/and no sweat. My last two eye doctor places were able to accommodate my contact lenses orders within 3 days. I never once waited more than a week for the contacts.

Not sure why this place gets bad reviews. I never had a bad experience here. The staff is always checking to make sure you are being helped. Eye exams may not be with the state of the art equipment but it is thorough. I never had any issues with ordering my glasses. I was always told when I can expect my glasses and would receive a call when it is available for pick up. As for comments regarding record keeping as being outdated, I am glad there is still a place that has hand written records.

Seems like customer service is not their forte. I came in to try on a few pairs before using my insurance to get my eyes tested. The staff was not the most helpful nor friendly. Also, not the best selection for designer eye-wear. In a nutshell, I took my business elsewhere because of the vibe. Westway vision’s staff, esp. Fran, was very helpful and provided honest feedback when deciding on which frames suit me best. Sorry, not sorry.

DONOTGOTHERE. They trick you with insurances so they can get the maximum(e.g. routine eye exam = medical visit, etc.). Shop dusty and un welcoming. Do no trust ZocDoc reviews… Insane price for contacts exam. Very disappointing experience.

To respond back to Brad. Warby Parker is a brand and company of eyeware. I think it’s very interesting that you don’t «recommend» them. They contacted you to try and get my prescription. After several attempts I finally had to get the prescription myself and fax it to them. Also, please do not say my order wasn’t received because of a delay from the manufacturer. My order was never place by your office. Which YOU confirmed when I spoke to you. Furthermore, I ordered on May 13th directly from YOU. At the counter. In the office. You also promised to email my prescription to me by the end of the day in which we spoke this week. That has YET to happen. I called back and was told that you left without following through on yet another simple task. I will be speaking to the business owners soon to discuss this experience with them directly. Because you are clearly incapable.

Absolutly awful experience. Not only did they lose my company issued voucher for safety eyewear. They continually lied that the glasses were not in due to problems with the manufacturer. Which as it turned out was a total and complete lie. Furthermore when I inquired for more details they acted in a rude disrespectful manner. If you value your eyes stay away from this awful business.

Bottom line — sold me contact lenses that were three times more expensive than the lenses I’ve worn for years. The lenses were awful and really hurt my eyes. They also took a month to come in and I had to go there three times for more samples while waiting. I’ve never heard of contacts being on back order until I went to Miles and Tisch. When asking for a new prescription, I called several times without a call back. I do not recommend this office to anyone.

This wasn’t the worst place in the world, but if you have the option to go elsewhere for an eye exam, I would recommend it. My comments: 1. I had an appointment with Dr. Tisch. He apparently was out of the office, so I was rescheduled with Dr. Miles. 2. They were already 30 minutes behind with patients when I walked in the door. 3. The receptionist’s children were running around the store the entire time I was sitting there. I checked and it wasn’t take your Child to Work Day that day. 4. My appointment was literally 7 minutes long. While I prefer not to sit at an appointment for hours, something tells me 7 minutes probably isn’t enough for an complete exam. Be prepared to have glasses pushed on you. While I get it’s how eye doctors make money, they were overly aggressive. However, after reading the reviews about ordering eye glasses on this site as well as watching two separate patients come in to complain that their glasses were not ready a month after ordering them, I decided to take my prescription and run.

This the worst service i have EVER had in my life. I waited 3 months for glasses! Everytime i came there they broke a promise and didnt come thru. They were not ready on the day they promised. Then they said they had them and they were the wrong color… TWICE. AND they didnt even sincerely apologize. They acted like they didnt care. Horrible experience. Oh yeah i STILL dont have my glasses!
