This place was amazing! It is super lowkey and has the best bagels I have ever had. It was not expensive and was everything that I ever needed in a bagel. Their muffins were good as well. GO!

Excellent lunch spot, very efficient! One can never go wrong with a bagel sandwich. A butter cinnamon raisin bagel can make the day ten times better. The fresh orange juice keeps me coming back and back and back, you get the idea!

Oh goodness. This place started off as a relatively normal experience. There was a long line, but I suppose it’s because my boyfriend and I didn’t go until later in the morning. One should expect that it would be crowded at that point. In any case, the employees were nice enough and the line got to moving. They have a ton of diff options which is nice, although difficult for indecisive people such as myself. I ordered an Everything Bagel, toasted, with Lox Spread. Very typical. They certainly loaded the bagel which was nice to know that they don’t skimp out on the food. My boyfriend got his typical Blueberry Bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. It took a bit of time for them to assemble it, but eventually we got our food, and headed out. My Everything Bagel itself was good, but with the Lox Spread, it was pretty salty. I’m usually the queen of throwing extra salt into my food, so I was really surprised. Unfortunately, I ended up scraping half of the Lox Spread off anyways. My boyfriend was enjoying his sandwich, and offered me some so I didn’t have to suffer with an overly salty meal, but after taking a couple bites, I realized that there was something really hard that I was biting down on. I was praying that it wasn’t a chipped tooth. Because I’m so classy, I picked the food out of my teeth and spit the rest out into a napkin to figure out what it was. I was chewing on small shards of glass. They were very clear, crystalline, bits with remnants of black paint on them, so it seems to me that some cooking utensil or measuring cup may have chipped/broken somewhere along the assembly line so to speak. Needless to say, I wasn’t thrilled to finish my own food or take anymore bites of his after that. Pretty disappointing… I mean. I guess it happens(?), but I won’t be going back there to take my chances

I’m really not sure what all the negative reviews are about? I’m a bagel fanatic. I mean what New Yorker isn’t a bagel fanatic? Yes a bagel with cream cheese is 3 dollars, and bacon an egg on a roll is about 5 but to be honest in the quality department they delivered. The bagel was soft and fresh and the eggs didn’t come from a carton the man is there cracking them on to the grill. Bacon was fresh and sandwich was clean cut. The lines are really really long but it moves quickly. There aren’t many bagel shops in walk-able distance from this one. The service isn’t personalized and they treat you like a number considering there’s a line of 30 people behind you, but behind the chaos they actually take care of the orders and despite all the orders lined up on the counter mine came out right, and that deserves slight admiration because small delis have been known to mess up orders. So tough it up, don’t be impatient and wait in line! Indoor and outdoor seating. They accept cash or credit.

Do stale bagels, long waits, and high prices sound appealing to you? No? Me neither, and unfortunately that’s what you get at Pick-A-Bagel. We live a block away and have given this place about three shots more than we should have. What did we expect, the prices to go down? The bagels to get fresher? The food is tolerable(the second star in my review), but you end up paying a high premium compared to other much better bagel joints in the city. I’ve tried this place four times over the past year. Pricing is confusing(different prices for the same items on different ends of the counter, topping prices located away from the sandwiches you are topping, etc.) and high. Bagels have consistently been stale and firm, like a refrigerated grocery store offering. It’s always crowded with tourists staying near midtown. They’d be much better off trying something else. Save yourself the ten bucks and go somewhere else.

I like that they have options — tons of bagels and cream cheeses. The line was really confusing. I waited 10 minutes to pay, just because I wasn’t sure which way to go. I got a BEC with avocado. It was really good, but it was $ 7. Not the cheapest, but I knew I’d pay for that avocado. Also… I ordered a sesame bagel and they gave me whole wheat. It wasn’t the end of the world, but for $ 7 they can at least give me what I ordered. I had to wait about 15 minutes for my food. The place was PACKED, but I guess that’s a good thing. It’s a little out of my way in the morning, but I would go back as a «treat.» Overall, an average experience.

They say bagels in NYC are the best, and this place seems to be right on the money. After a VERY long night out drinking, I really wanted some carbs to bring me back to live and this was a great fix. Although I cheated and ordered delivery, I was super happy with it. I had the everything bagel that was thick, soft and chewy. Perfect hint of salt and had the plain cream cheese adn was beyond happy with the taste. I also had to the breakfast potatoes. Not super crisppy but still good.

DONOTORDERFROMHERE. I ordered, was assured my food would be delivered in 45 minutes. 2 hours later, no food. On Seamless there’s a coupon for free coffee on orders over $ 20. This is a lie. When our food arrived, my coffee did not. I called and was promised would send out the coffee. Another lie. The coffee never arrived and when I called again, the guy on the phone said his boss said just to remove 10%. I’m taking this up with Seamless. This place is the absolute worst. The management is unbelievably inept. Never again. Run don’t scroll to another option.

I was determined to go to all the big-name bagel places when I was in traveling in New York city, what i personally called«bagel hopping,» and of course Pick-A-Bagel was on my list! It was my second bagel store. There was a long line when I visited on a Saturday morning. And Pick-A-Bagel didn’t disappoint! I mean. It didn’t become my NO.1 bagel store but it certainly was good enough! I had onion bagel and it was firm and perfectly toasted! They also offer a wide range of flavors! However, I’d say their stuff is a bit on the pricey side… But a bagel addict like myself won’t really mind hahaha

I was in the area and needed to grab a quick bite. After much perusing on Unilocal,I decided I was in the mood for a bagel. I got a toasted wheat bagel with the lox spread, mostly because that was the freshest looking thing in the display case(the egg salad looked super sad and a couple of the other spreads looked like they’d been sitting their untouched for quite a while). They were generous with the spread and I didn’t get a stomachache after all of the lox, so I’m assuming it was at least as fresh as I thought it was. All in all, a good place to grab something quick in the Theatre District, but definitely wouldn’t be my go to.

They provide freshly baked bagels that could be further toasted upon request and also a handful of spread choices. Unfortunately I didn’t see the purple bagel that I have been longing to try out. Opted for the whole wheat bagel with tofu/veggie spread. The bagel was very chewy and maintained the scent of wheat! There was a long line even in early morning, fortunately it was moving very fast!

Refreshing to have such a good bagel that requires me to make a mile walk! I got a medium flavored coffee and a toasted everything bagel with scallion cream cheese for $ 6. Pricey? Maybe so but it was a GOOD bagel. I’m familiar with their location in BPC and glad that this one is midtown. There’s also not that bad a line for lunch. I was in and out pretty quickly. Will definitely be returning when I want that bagel fix.

This was a great little spot to step in off the street and enjoy some hot and fresh food for a reasonable price. Pick-a-bagel lives up to its name with a variety of bagels to pick from, as well as a good selection of spreads and toppings. But the real joy is their bagel sandwiches — nothing too bizarre or original, but some tasty options to pick from. There are a fair number of seats, although they can be taken during busy hours. The guys are real nice though and will gladly grab anything you need. It’s not always easy to find somewhere cheap in parts of Manhattan but this shop is not too far from central park(walking distance) and its delicious.

Awesome place! I love to have my Breakfast there when I visit NY. Fresh, homemade and delicous! Choose what ever you like. A wide selection of different platters or a huge selection of Bagel Variations. The place is alwayd crowded but its worth the waiting time.

Pick a bagel is ok. A bit on the pricy side for bagel sandwiches, and I wish they toasted them a little longer. They do use fresh cheese which is a step up from visiting a bodega. I was pleasantly suprised with how fast the line moves here too. Wow.

So let me preface this by saying I am clearly not a New Yorker so my bagel standards aren’t top level, but that said I have been a bagel fan for the last 26 years so I know a thing or two about them. I didn’t plan to come here or look it up and it’s a good thing because the star rating here isn’t high, but the bagels were great. I stumbled across this place when I was looking for a place with an open table that wasn’t too pretentious, full, with a long line or too expensive and this place for the bill. Once I got ready to order I knew I had to go with either the lox or the whitefish, after all it is New York. Then the question was bailie or bagel. I wasn’t feeling a garlic and onion fest so I went with an everything bagel and whitefish. I got the bagel toasted, with tomato and lettuce and whitefish salad and it was absolutely amazing with some of their fresh orange juice. I would go back here every day if I lived near here. Makes me regret I don’t have more time in New York to eat more bagels.

I’m a big critic of bagels since I live in Brooklyn and enjoy some of the best bagels in the world. I had purchased a sesame bagel with egg and cheese. The Taste of the bagel was bland and it was if I was eating cardboard. I do not recommend this place.

This place is your classic go to bagel shop in NYC. Stopped in around 11am on a Saturday and the line was out the door, which usually means the place is good! And we were right. Our bagels were fresh and soft. I got my favorite– pumpernickel with cream cheese lox. This was the perfect meal to carb load for the NYC Marathon the right morning. We also got two bagels to go to eat before the race the next morning. They were still good in the morning, nice and soft. Despite the long line it moved fast!
