This place is amazing!!! Best homemade pasta ever so delicious and really attentive, friendly service. I’ve been twice with my parents and both times were 5 stars. The red Cab wine was delicious too! I recommend both the fettuccine pesto pasta and the pappardelle with mushroom. Can’t wait to bring my friends here!

Good food, nice appetizers and cool place. I have to say though don’t get the octopus, it was rubbery… Yikes! The carpaccio was good and I like the burrata too.

Was a pretty good authentic Italian restaurant. It was a last minute place we heard about from a local at a coffee shop a few blocks away. We had the nights special, which I forgot exactly what it was but some pork loin with potatoes. Really great! Definitely have to get a glass of wine with it. We had«Amastuola Primitivo». It’s a sweet red wine.

Was looking for a place to order lunch and came upon this Italian restaurant. Dishes looked great and decided to ordered delivery. Got the run around from them. Food was unappetizing when it arrived. Probably cause we weren’t dining in. But I really lost appetite. =\

What a lovely dinner spot! I only discovered this spot because I was working in the area during the time, but I remember that everything from the ambiance, the service, and the cooking was really fantastic. Absolutely worth the visit, especially for a date night or something more intimate because it’s more of a narrower space with high ceilings kind of spacing situation in my opinion(we sat in the front portion of the restaurant), but its quite cozy and romantic with its lighting and exposed brick. It feels like you’re in a family kitchen or dining room!

Good food, fast. Rustic atmosphere, tables close together, feels like I always imagined an old fashioned, neighborhood Italian restaurant, but with modernized dishes. Aurichetti with Rabe and anchovies was superb, lasanga was huge and great, homemade raviloi were tender and just as you expect an Italian grandmother would make them.

Yes, food is great! I gave a 3 star because the earliest reservation we could get was 8pm. So we arrived at 755. Few couples were standing inside and outside. No table was reserved for us. The walk-ins took priority and were seated. We were sat at 820pm. Waitress didn’t get to our table until 10 minutes after that. It KILLED my mood and I actually became pretty upset. The place is small and packed in. I believe it was a brother and sister or husband and wife that own the place, Italian of course. Very very nice. Food was amazing. This family just needs to find a bigger building and more employees.

Adorable little place which was packed! Food was pretty good. Always a fan of fresh pasta. Quite dark– def a read the menu by your phone light kind of place. Intimate setting. Reservation is necessary. Will absolutely be returning.

My family and I loved Mercato! Everyone’s food was delicious from our Mercato salad to our homemade pasta dishes. Additionally, the service was fantastic. Our waitress was very patient and we didn’t feel rushed at all. I would definitely recommend it!

I came for brunch and it was great. We had to ask for recos because most come for dinner, but we were very pleased with brunch. I had the«eggs in hell» and my friends had the baccala and bucatini cacio e pepe. The donuts are worth it!

So I unexpectadly had 45 minutes and MAN was this place just the most awesome. Incredibly exotic and expertly prepared dishes. These guys LOVE what they do. If the lamb triangles and grilled octopus was not alreadyinsanely delectable, the free apperatifo f purreed celery root with chilli and(inserts awesome herb he cant remember) oil was TODIEFOR. Thank you!!!

food was good as I was expecting since I am Italian, wine a little too expensive compared to other places. People are very nice and friendly:)

Mercato NY Manhattan Theater District/Port Authority 10:30pm Monday 30th November 2015 Three Stars The entrance is easily missable but this place should not be. The interior is cozy. The bar is fully stocked. They seemed genuinely friendly. It was a bit romantic so I decided to take my lasagne to go.(While I waited, I went next store to the wine store). The lasagne($ 17) was a large portion. The meat sauce was divine. The tomatoes were fresh and bright. The veal was savory and with just right amount fattiness. The lasagne itself however wasn’t very good. The six layers of pasta sheets were soggy. The cheese was overly melted. I want my lasagne to have a textural difference with fresh ricotta mixed with a heavy amount of herbs. It tasted like a veggie lasagne that they prepared a week and then simply heated it and top with fresh meat sauce. I am sure I will go back but get something different.

We stopped here for dinner the other night as it was close to our hotel. The good news was they were able to accommodate us even though they told us they were booked up for another hour. The bad news is the food was disappointing — I don’t see how the other reviews are coming up so positive. I had a seafood dish: mussels in rice and potatoes in tomato sauce. It was horrid. The mussels were microscopic in size and there weren’t many, the rice was undercooked, the potatoes were burned to the bottom of the pan. I could hardly eat it. My dining companions had similar experiences. My wife’s lasagna was total mush and burned to the bottom of the pan making the layers indistinguishable. We were all expecting to be wowed given the positive reviews, but everyone thought their dinner was tasteless and poorly prepared. The setting is very nice, very intimate. Unfortunately, if you are anywhere near the door, which is pretty much every table in the place, you have to put up with people opening the door all night long which is pretty chilly on a cold night.

Perfect place to stop after a play. The pastas are amazing(particularly the ragus)! So is the straccitella appetizer. My favorite dessert was the chocolate salami. The staff is super friendly(and Sicilian). And the prices are very fair for the neighborhoods.

We arrived on a busy Thursday night without reservations. The manager was able to fit us in between reservations but mentioned that the service would be quick since we only had an hour before the reserved guests would arrive. That was fine since we were in a hurry anyway. The waitress was pleasant and overall service was efficient. The best part of the meal was the bread and olive oil dip which included lentils. I could have had that alone for dinner. The entrees were both dry. The orechiete pasta with broccoli rabe needed more olive oil. The cavatelli with wild boar ragu needed more sauce. There were chunks of meat but not enough sauce and I generally do not like pasta’s drowning in sauce so this was definitely on the dry side. The restaurant is small and it’s a tight crowded fit and could get noisy depending on the loudness of other groups. Wines by the glass were very good. Overall I would like to go back and try other menu items. Prices are reasonable

I went to Mercato for dinner on a Thursday night having made a reservation for two at 7. It was very busy but they were able to seat us right away. Our meal was absolutely delicious. We started with the polpette con crostini(meatball appetizer), which came out steaming hot with garlic crostini. For dinner, my companion got the pappardelle with spicy ox-tail ragu. It was indeed very spicy but very good. I had the rigatoni norma con ricotta salata(rigatoni with eggplant, tomato, and ricotta) and it was phenomenal. The portion sizes were perfect. The restaurant is pretty tiny and the tables are very close together, which can make for a noisy environment. However, the staffs incredibly friendliness made up for the tight space. We must have been thanked 5 times between getting up from our table and leaving the restaurant!

Picked this place as it is close to port authority, for sure beat my expectation by a large margin. Small as it is, the cute Italian restaurant was decorated with all kinds of ingredient bottles that made me think of home. Talking about the food, we ordered the daily special crab meat salad, as well as beef stew, on such a freezing morning. Definitely recommend the salad, crab meat just mixed itself perfectly well with beets and vinegar. Given I am a carrot person, I also enjoyed my stew. Service was attentive as well, nevertheless we are the only guests in restaurant at that time since it was so early!

Oh MAN Honestly, I almost didn’t go in. I’d heard lots of great things about it(e.g. Michelin’s «Bib Gourmand» award) but the place was packed. Saturday night, no reservation, what hope did we have? Fortunately, there was room for a party of two in the corner, so we were seated right away. Don’t try and duplicate my miracle though — make a reservation! My girlfriend found a white wine she enjoyed, though the specifics escaped me while I was enjoying my Sazerac — not too bitter, not too sweet, just how I like it! We skipped the appetizers and dove straight into the main course — she got the Fettuccine Ai Funghi(mushroom-lover that she is) and I got the Gnocchi Al Ragu Di Manzo E Maiale — potato gnocchi in a beef and pork ragu, because I will find a way to fit meat and potatoes into every meal forever. She said her dish was delicious, finely-balanced, and cooked perfectly. As for me, I felt like I was enjoying several minutes of absolute bliss — the ragu was very flavorful, and the gnocchi was masterfully handled. I only wish there was more of it. Still, my last bit of appetite came in handy when dessert came around; the day’s special, strawberry panna cotta. Great flavors, great consistency, a great ending to a great meal. A final few notes: service was attentive and polite, but a little too enthusiastic about refilling my water — I almost asked him to «chill» but it didn’t seem appropriate to semi-rustic, intimate ambiance. All in all, a very good time. I’ll definitely be back — but with a reservation!
