There was an interesting mix of people here, but overall it really was a «hidden gem.» I went here on a Monday night and there were definitely ebbs and flows with the amount of people, but overall it didn’t get too overly crowded. Though certain parts of the outdoor patio are«smoking prohibited» its so small that wherever you sit outside, you may have smoke in your face. That’s always the danger with outdoor spaces(if you’re not a smoker). The drinks were average price for NYC, the atmosphere was unpretentious and easy-going, and the extreme up-close view of the empire state building was unique. Though, like other reviews explain, the elevator takes forever, so get definitely leave some buffer time. And there is only one bathroom for the entire place, so think about that before you break the seal!

Love this place. So sad it might not be here for much longer. When I went for some birthday drinks here I was sure we were in the wrong place, considering it was on top of The Quinta Inn! After you step off the elevators to the 14th floor you walk through the obscure emergency door to find yourself in quaint little rooftop bar. Feels just like a friends backyard fit with white picket fencing and unassuming lawn furniture. Oh of course with the ESB politely sneaking a peak over your fence ala Wilson(Home Improvement) style. I love it because the people and atmosphere, both unpretentious. Drinks are served in simple plastic cups, food can be ordered, delivered and brought in from your hearts desire, and the people that frequent are just so great. Oh and sometimes they just bring out cajun peppered popcorn for the hell of it. Def gonna come back up as much as I can before I have to say goodbye for good :(

I have to admit when my friend told me she was having her birthday on the rooftop of The Quinta Inn I cringed at the thought. Sometimes they pick places that are completely not my scene, but since it was her birthday I was going to go regardless and just make the best of it. After walking in and taking the elevator to the top, I was pleasantly surprised. The rooftop was actually pretty cool and pretty spacious. The bartenders were pretty quick and you even had a clear shot view of the Empire State Building! There was no music, which perhaps if they put a sound system in it would be a little bit better.

Snotty bartenders. Whats with the attitudes on these NY rooftops??? Quite cramped inside and out. Feels way to close to ESB, you will hurt your neck looking up. About 15 large bags of stinky garbage were taken out at the peak of happy hour while some friends were eating take out Thai food they had delivered up there. Yes they bumped us numerous times with their filth. Are they trying to send a message make way for more trash??? 230 fifth is so much better.

The lights on the Empire State Building are always changing color, whether it’s for St. Patrick’s Day, gay pride, Yankee pride, Valentine’s Day, etc. Take a seat on the Me Bar rooftop for an incredible view of the Empire State Building. Here are some positives and negatives: Drinks are cheap, space is limited, this elevator scares me, best view, one bathroom, space heaters, can get crowded, can get touristy, intimate, the view, excellent first date spot, best if you get a seat, watch the lights go out at midnight. Confuse your date by having them meet in the La Quinta Inn lobby. Keep them puzzled and proceed to the 14th floor. Head to the bar. They should be pretty shocked when you get to the bar, at least my girlfriend was. She should know me, I would never actually stay at a La Quinta Inn.

Wrote the following review for La Quinta Hotel Rooftop Bar. This place has a nice hotel rooftop bar on the 14th floor with an AMAZING view of the Empire State! It is soooo weirdly located right in the middle of Ktown. but then when you get up its not just a sea full of asians… very good mixed crowd– makes you forget your in KTOWN. The rooftop is not glamorous but it is a chill place to relax and reminds you of sitting out on your deck or at a BBQ. The drinks are cheap all the time. cocktails are $ 7 – 8 except for the Dark and Stormy and Pomegranate cocktail which is $ 10. My French Kiss was delicious and came in a martini glass but may be too sweet tasting for some. I got a million bug bites on my legs so I wouldn’t come here again wearing shorts but overall a very nice chill place to relax! I shall return, but only for a chill weeknight(not as a destination spot). Also the bathroom reeked of weed

Holy strong ass drinks, Batman! Seriously, the fact that this place is on a rooftop, the bartenders all seem to have heavy hands and the drinks are priced just right(especially for the recent grads who were throwing a party here) is probably the best part of it all. I wish the La Quinta inns back home had this much swag!

The rooftop bar is located on top of the La Quinta in Koreatown. You take the elevator to the 14th floor and walk up some stairs to it. You won’t see any advertisements for it, but trust me, it’s there. I had a few $ 8 well drinks poured by a stong hand, not bad for the price! I’m used to $ 15 rooftop drinks. The views are great and its located practically right under the empire state building so its a sight to see. If you are hungry you can grab some free popcorn or order from any local restaurant and they’ll deliver. We saw chicken legs being gnawed on, sushi, and salads. They also have heat lamps they will turn on when it gets chilly. The music is bizarre. After they corrected the static that blared from the speakers for about 15 minutes, they put on a Latin mix. The crowd is one of the most diverse I’ve seen in the city, so that was kind of cool. You will find absolutely every type here. Don’t even think about trying to go to the bathroom. You will be waiting in a 30 – 40 minute line for the one unisex toilet. Yikes! I almost peed my pants! It would probably be better to take the elevator down and use a lobby bathroom… if they have one… Not bad, not a fave, just A-OK.

I had my doubts about this bar as it is located inside of the La Quinta in K-town but I was pleasantly surprised. Take the elevator to the 14th floor and *poof*, dive bar with a patio and a view of the Empire State Building! Since it was cold and sprinkling on and off, the patio was relatively empty and our party sat outside and talked about important issues of the day like Syrian protests. Or maybe we just stared at each other while we drank beer in total, contemplative silence. I forget. Either way, they had a full bar and a good selection of bottled beers. A Kettle and soda and an imported beer was $ 14. Not bad! Can’t wait to go back when the weather is nicer. (-1 star because it smelled like those bathroom air fresheners in the tiny bar area.)

Make sure when you go to the outside sitting area that you look behind you! My friend suggested Me Bar to our small group of friends and we saw outside sitting area and couldn’t say no. We walked down 32nd and the whole time I’m thinking. there is an outside sitting-area-bar in ktown? Lies? We arrived at the address and it was the La Quinta Inn. We asked the front desk and they said«14th floor guys» So do not feel like the Unilocal address is wrong, it’s just a roof top bar! Really liked the atmosphere a pretty diverse group even though the place is in ktown. They have heaters for the outside sitting areas, but only 3 of them so if you did not come dressed to sit outside, I would suggest staying inside. Bottom Line: Got a great vibe from the place, bar tender was pretty cool, and a very wide variety of drinks. I will have to say the prices were a little steep, but it’s not like I was not expecting it. I will say that this is not a place you go out to for the night, definitely a place you go after you have gone out. Great spot for drinks after a date too! Don’t forget to turn around when you go to the outside sitting area! You will have a «whoa» moment.

I really have to give credence to the adage«nothing beats good company.» Okay, maybe not quite an adage, but allow me to free associate here. After a cold winter of shortened days and evenings spent like a workaholic hermit, coming to Me Bar after some friends were visiting NY because one of them had his work exhibited at the Open Society Institute by Columbus Square was the perfect prescription. Kind of random(really? KTown?), still somewhat of a secret despite the 130 reviews, and simply divine. I actually didn’t get anything to drink here, but this space is such an anomaly: the interior has a nice trendy feel to it; the exterior bears a complementary contrast(if that makes sense). It was still relatively chilly on a Wednesday night, but the backdrop lent itself to having all of us feel like we were in an intimate party on a backyard or a deck — only if you tilted your head a few degrees you were graced with a great view of the Empire State Building. At around 11 we were alerted that a ton of fried chicken was coming our way(presumably from neighbor restaurants getting rid of some food). Just a possible tip for you meat eaters. Me Bar has a healthy amount of the afterwork crowd on weekdays — I’ll probably avoid on weekends, but I’ll definitely be back =)

Where do you go to celebrate ? The place that I’ve dubbed«The Dive Bar in the Sky». This place won’t score you any real points with classy females, but sometimes I like to zig when other people zag. Tile floor, with no waitress service. Just grab your drink at the bar, and grab one of your wooden barrel top tables outside. Careful not to scorch your head on the heat lamps that are perched over the tables like a giant square eye from«War of the worlds». Or better yet, sit inside, through the glass door that reminds you of your Grandmom’s mudroom in Florida. Don’t worry about the cinnamon spice smell from their«special» cider drink, mixing with the smell of «urinal cake» from the bathroom. Just plop down on the low slung bench seats with cushions that look like they’ve seen more action than the back seat of a rental car. Cool diverse crowd, but there ain’t no power brokers here. A mix of civil servants, hipster wannabes, and tourists. Peppered with a couple of Korean girls who probably(like us) couldn’t squeeze in to Kun Jip, and this was their«fall back plan». While there might be a view of the Empire State Building(I didn’t notice it) it’s surely not of the«sweeping» vista kind, like other rooftop bars in the area.(330 Fifth Ave, Strand hotel or Shelburne hotel) On «any given night», this place could work. Tonight was one of those nights. Beers are about $ 6 and spice drink was $ 7

I’d have given this place four stars if it wasn’t so darn popular! This is probably the most chill — and cheap — rooftop bar I’ve been to in the city. I got a strong rum and coke for $ 7. The bartenders are efficient — and obviously won’t skimp on the alkie! I wish people couldn’t smoke on the roof, but I guess that’s a big plus for people who like the to smoke. Free popcorn, too! Everyone mentioned the unisex, single bathroom problem in their reviews, but there will definitely be a lull, so get another drink while you wait. By 7:15pm, it was very crowded.

This is the antithesis of the NYC rooftop bar. It’s not swanky. Getting in is a breeze. Drinks aren’t overpriced. There is no dress code. The«bouncer» was very friendly. The douche quotient is low. You get an upskirt view of the Empire State Building. I’m a huge fan of the unpretentious atmosphere. The indoor area has a glass ceiling. If you get there at the right time, you’ll snag a seat and/or table. I ended up retreating indoors because I abhor secondhand smoke and there was less invasions of personal space. The crowd was a good mix of Europeans, hipsters, «normal» people, tourists, and the B&T folks. One word of caution: There is only ONE unisex bathroom and the line can be long. Plus side, it was kept pretty clean.

It’s a rooftop bar, it doesn’t blast music, it has well-priced drinks, and has an extreme view of the Empire State Building. If you want a place to relax with friends, what more do you need? I was here with a group of about ten, on a hot Thursday, from 6pm to about 9pm. The place was full, but not crowded.

Mé Bar has a Korean name, but the presence of La Quinta hotel guests and means this is probably the least Asian place in Koreatown. The view is amazing and the vibe significantly more relaxed than other Manhattan rooftop bars. Mé Bar is also great in the rain –you can watch the water roll off the curved windows or sit under a tarp they roll out outside. The drinks are reasonably priced for midtown and the beer selection(bottles only, alas) solid.

Wow, this place is great! A wonderful rooftop bar with fantastic views of the Empire State building. It’s a tiny bar-one small indoor area where the actual bar is, with a few seats, and then the outdoor deck area that is fenced in with lots of tables. Seems pretty standard and then you look up and there’s the amazing views! Drinks are tiny and nothing exceptional but the music is nice and the rooftop atmosphere can’t be beat! Will definitely be coming back here next time I’m in NY!

This place is great! I almost walked past it’s stone steps because the hotel lobby looks totally quiet and normal. Once you get up through the elevator to the rooftop, there are literally just two sections — outdoor square patio with colorful chairs with pillows and tables and then an indoor space that is shaped like a large hallway with a bar at the end(the pics attached represent the place well). There wasn’t a big intimidating bouncer either. Just a security guy(i think?) telling people where to go for the bar. Once we were outside on the patio, everyone there is pretty friendly /chill. We(my group of 15+) shared tables with another group. The crowd ranges from young professionals to old timers who are from the city. It wasn’t extremely crowded probably because of the light rain but it was still crowded for 10:30pm The drink prices were pretty decent for a rooftop. Buuut I wouldn’t know because it was my birthday and mine were free haha. Everyone else said they were decently priced! Music was good — random and sometimes stopped. When it started raining a bit, they pulled out a plastic awning over the outdoor section so we got to stay outside the whole time without getting wet! After we left, we went to eat bonchon. yum. All in all… good place to have a gathering! :) Friends loved it and were taken aback by the view and how the bar was randomly tucked away in ktown! Will be back!

3.5 I was not impressed when my best friend called me to tell me that we were drinking in midtown for his 30th birthday. He won more points by telling me it was a rooftop bar. When I walked in through a La Quinta in Korea town to get to it, I had to laugh. The bar was pretty cute, and the drink specials were amazing! The best part was the ridiculous view of the Empire State Building. The view is epic.

Every trip to the 14th flr up those little cramped elevators in the La Quinta Inn feels like Christmas morning. Will I be able to score a primo seat with a grand view of the Empire State building?(equivalent of getting an awesome Transformer or a new bike) Or will the place be mobbed with nary room to move or get a drink?(equivalent of getting a Biblical board game from the Fundie relatives) As it’s impossible to gauge the level of occupation from the street, half the fun and half the disappointment is in that moment when the elevator door opens.
