If you can’t master the hong kong milk tea, you don’t qualify as a hk café. We ordered 2 milk teas and they are both luke warm. Then we ordered 2 hk noodles 車仔麵, they have no flavor. There are more fat chunks than beef tendons.

Wowowowow this place has amazing pan fried steamed rice noodles. It’s was crunchy on the outside and hot and steamy on the inside. It was sweet and savory and saucy.

I love their steamed rice noodles. So far, only tried the classic HK style. Will come back to try more. Service was good, too since the waitress kept recommending certain dishes.

This place is comfort food deliciousness to me. I come here with my aunt & her friends for breakfast. It’s not fancy inside or outside. But there are breakfast specials & Cantonese fare. My favourite is the preserved egg & shredded pork congee(rice porridge), wide rice noodles, & milk tea. So good… Service is super fast & prices are cheap($ 4.50 for the entire afore mentioned breakfast). I almost want to keep this place a secret as it is already pretty popular!

Legit Hong Kong food. I am a regular here for weekend breakfast. It’s basically comfort food for hk people. My favorite is breakfast D of satay beef with instant noodles. The milk tea is not your typical teabag tea, but made from boiled tea. Décor is hole in the wall but comfortable and clean. There’s a large mural of Hong Kong singers and actors/actresses.

Wow. It seems things have gone downhill since my last visit or perhaps the chefs were off on Labor Day. Was going to buy the hot clay pot rice casserole at A-Wah around the corner but my dad talked me into trying them at M Star Café. Salty fish and pork patty rice casserole amounts to corn starch and flour drenched pork that tasted like craps. The beef and egg was not much better, doubt there are any real beef in this dish. All I could taste was flour, corn starch, and basically a plate of mushy beef colored thing. I wouldn’t mind the over half hour wait if they turned out good or decent, these rice casserole tasted horribly. To top it off, the cup of Hong Kong Style iced tea gave my wife instance diarrhea. Maybe I will stick with their breakfasts items and stay the hell away from their hot clay pot casserole.

Always great food, good prices and very friendly staff. Service is fast and you will be full! They have a large diverse menu so try something new. I usually order the instant noodles with beef and an iced coffee.

Forget about the deco, food here does remind me about HK trip. It’s definitely not as tasty as HK, but the way they are presented. Also you can get the«coffee and tea» drink here. Not commonly found in NY.

I had ham&egg sandwich here. I was expecting it to be like HK but unfortunately they’re pretty stingy on putting butter on their bread(didnt even toast the bread, whyyyyy) Anyway, if you do come here, just get the Milk tea. That’s pretty good. Other than that… meh

My favorite dish here is the minced beef baked rice with a fried egg(preferably without the slice of American cheese). I’ve dine-in and ordered takeout many times and I’m satisfied with their food and service. On a few occasions, they have forgotten to give me utensils and/or straws for my takeout. It’s definitely an affordable place to eat, I would say on average it’s $ 10 or less per person.

PRO: Pan Fried Rice Noodles — comes with peanut butter sauce.(tell them to put less sauce on this or else its going to be too salty) CONS: Fried Wonton — This was not what I expected. Wonton was super small. It’s like the size of a pea with a big flat piece of dough skin. My friend coined this dish the«fried nipple» which gave us laughs but at the same time it really turned us off from eating it. I DONOTRECOMMENDYOUGETTINGTHIS.

I ordered some noodles & it came in a large plate. Tasty too. So if you’re hungry, it’s good value. But the place could be cleaner. Chinatown is not known for its cleanliness but this place is even dirtier than average. No wifi. I’ll try it again for breakfast & decide if I will come back.

I’ve never been so disrespected by anyone as bad as I did 5 minutes ago in this restaurant. The tall big lady with permed black hair is just beyond rude. Don’t yell at me or the people at my table for a mistake you made. Own up to your crap and don’t play the blame game, b*tch.

Good for a chinese establishment. Absolutely love their 翅, except when I order take out they are very cheap with the red vinegar. Their prices are great, and food is good. Docked one star off for the cleanliness of wait staff. Yikes.

Cheap and delicious! Been coming here for years because of the consistency of the food. Everything here reminds me of a typical café in Hong Kong from the menu to the décor. The menu consists of all the basics of a HK café; instant noodles, macaroni, rice noodles, fried noodles. The portions of the noodles are big and definitely worth the price. This is the best place by far for H. K Style Steamed Rice Noodles, which is basically just plain rice noodles with a mixture of sauces on top, simple but delicious. I can’t say all the food here is delicious but everything tastes at least good enough to keep coming back again. The one thing I don’t like is the broth for their instant noodles. It’s not the traditional flavor I’m used to for ramen so that throws the whole thing off but other than that the flavor for everything else is just the way you expect it to taste. There’s a full set of condiments(ketchup, salt, soy sauce, sriracha, etc) on each table to your liking so you don’t even have to ask for like at some stingy restaurants that only give napkins upon request. The service is what you would expect from a typical chinese place but the people here are nice if you actually talk to them. Delivery on the other hand, forget about it if you’re ordering during«rush hour» which is basically from 12 – 3. Ordered once for lunch and it took 1.5 hours to come even though we were only a 6 – 7 minute walk away. When we called to order the lady told us 30 mins which is why we ordered, and when we called to ask where our order was after an hour, we got nothing but attitude and her reply was«you ordered during rush hour so don’t rush us.» I thought that was so rude, but I like the food from this place enough that the customer service doesn’t bother me.

This place every neighborhood should have. It’s a cool little spot, an Americanized Hong Kong style diner. The food is awesome and the prices even more awesome. Being in Chinatown, the service is always fast. This is an answer to those who prefer to eat something inexpensive and homestyle. The thing I love best is how the food has the feel of homestyle cooking. My favorite dishes are the soups with instant noodles. In a close second are the sandwiches which are simple yet awesome. If I had to choose one spot in Chinatown for quick homestyle food, this would be it.

I came here for lunch. The interior and exterior looks like an actual HK style restaurant in Hong Kong. The food here was disappointing to me. The Sliced Beef Congee with Egg was cold and water down. The Portugese Chicken over rice was also cold, but at least it had some taste. The Pan Fried Noodles was the best tasting if you want to call it best tasting. It was a bit salty for my taste. The restaurant is really cheap with the water. They only give you half a cup of water. Other wise I have had better HK style food.
