Just a quick note, not a full blown review. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years. I used to have lunch here three or four times a month. I would take out of towners to eat dinner here. I would take Chinese friends to eat here who would later rave about it and praise my recommendations. The staff was very friendly. They knew me and I was treated like royalty. The food was fresh, authentic, delicious and large portions. I brought my family here when I first had kids, and my son’s first Chinese restaurant meal was here when he was two years old(steamed flounder). Sometime last year Fuleen changed owners. It is now a totally different place. Most of the old staff is gone. The restaurant has become indescribably filthy and dingy. The FOODANDSERVICEWENTWAYDOWNHILL. Smaller portions, poor cooking, poor quality less fresh seafood, slow indifferent service. In the summer, they don’t turn on the A/C and it is so hot you cannot enjoy the food. I’m really sad to write about this. I LOVED this restaurant. Now I almost cannot even bear to go in for lunch, even though I still do once in a while for old times sake. The last time I went for lunch, the place was really dirty. Everything is grime covered. The place now seems to be set up for Mainland Chinese and Korean tour groups at lunch. The tables have the names of tour groups on them, a bus load of tourists come in, and they are served a set lunch. The ordinary customers(like myself) are basically ignored. It’s really hack food now, and not carefully prepared. I’m very sad to write this and warn others off. I feel like I have lost an old friend. Very sad when places one remembers with extreme affection fall off the radar into an irretrievable decline. Thanks for the wonderful 30 years.

I am not sure if they over charge us or not but I never had crab that’s this expensive! It cost us $ 50 for a single crab,(take note! It was a malnourished crab)…that was ridiculous! I was expecting $ 30 for the crab at most. We also got a salt and pepper jumbo shrimp for $ 20 and it only was only 10 pieces. The waitress mention that both dishes doesn’t even come with white rice but she’ll give it to us for free… really?! also the waiter looked like he was not in the mood to serve and just wanted us to finish eating and leave. We were the only ones eating there too, we should of taken that as a hint. The food taste ok but I just think they overcharge us because we seem like tourist… which we were lol(we came in with a luggage).

This is the first restaurant I can remember going to as a child. However, it’s not as great as it used to be now that there is a new owner. The wait staff I grew up knowing have been replaced and my experience there isn’t as great as I used to remember. The food is still somewhat the same. My favorite dishes are the lobster, conch, and the shrimp and broccoli.

A chinatown favorite among coworkers. Was so excited to finally try it! We shared several items from the lunch menu. Luckily my coworkers are regulars who also happen to speak Chinese and knew exactly what to order — a vegetable dish, fried fish dish, chicken dish, pork… unfortunately I don’t know the names but know that we enjoyed everything and finished most of it. Everything was very good and you can’t beat the lunch prices.

I was invited to a birthday dinner at this restaurant recently., I generally eat closer to the Canal Street area so this was a change for me. My last experience with one of the other restaurants on this block wasn’t that great, but that was years ago so I hoped this would be different. Sadly, it was not. First the restaurant was uncomfortably warm. My party and I were pretty much sweating for our entire meal(note: it was about 60 degrees outside). We told the manager twice, but he said nothing could be done. Okay, sometimes environments can’t be controlled, but the least the manager could have done was make sure we were comfortable. Instead, our water was refilled once the entire meal. The same can be said for our teapots. Here’s the part that made me give this establishment one star: when we were ordering one of the dishes we put on our list was lobster. The waiter even brought out the lobster(still moving) to show us, and we approved it. However, when the lobster dish arrived? There wsa *significantly* less meat and parts than you’d expect. The most damning evidence that something fishy was going on? There was only one claw. As if to compound the problems, the food we were served was terribly salty and had no real flavor at all. I don’t just mean one or two of the dishes: all of them. From the aforementioned lobster dish to the noodle dish that ended the meal it was just bad. There are few restaurants in Chinatown that I warn people to stay away from but this is definitely one of them.

The food here is almost always good and their lunch specials at $ 5.75 with soup is almost always perfect. this is the mark of Chinese cuisine at take out price. Even better is that the take out portion is very generous as opposed to say Ken’s Asian taste which is usually 25% less. For lunch specials, I recommend: Kun Pao Chicken Braised Seafood or Tofu Casserole Steamed Fish w/Black Bean Sauce Chinese Broccoli w/Beef Bitter Gourd w/Beef Taro & Pork For dinner, I would not recommend going here only if the main boss(taller, no glasses) is there and the prices are significantly higher than what you would pay for a place like Hop Shing, Kens Asian Taste or even Wo Hop and the food is really not that much better. The 2nd boss who wears glasses is the man and if he were the sole owner of the restaurant would this place is certainly five star.

Come here if you like cold food. I would give no stars if I could. We came here for Chinese New Years dinner. We were the only table being served at the time. I should have known better by the lack of patrons. Let me tell you, I’ve never had steamed fish that was cool, not lukewarm mind you and the price was outrageous — $ 50. Then I also ordered the gooey duck. That really blew my top. There was less than half pound served, costing $ 85. Really? And the service? We ran out of tea, and nobody came to refill it. The rest of the dishes? Cool in temperature. It was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Besides that, my view was blocked by their filthy fish tank with its half dead fishes floating around. My God, I just realized my fish dinner came out of that tank. YUCK!

We waited forever for each dish. Service was terrible. Waiter changed our last dish and we ended up with everything overdosed in garlic(burnt), a dry steamed crab that was also overloaded with garlic and priced at $ 60. They don’t list the prices of lobster and crab — and then take advantage of the customers. I would not return.

This is the worse restaurant ever. Since we got here we’ve been saying it’s hot. They keep saying that the ac is on already. That’s complete bullshit. My family and I are all sweating, that’s the worse when you’re out having dinner. When a group of white people come in for dinner, their walked to their table, the ac turns on, they have a lap napkin and the owner opens it up and lays it on their laps. WTF!!! Am I missing something here? I hate when I am not treated equally and lied to. My family and I will NOT be coming to this restaurant EVER again! And to top it off, their food isn’t even good! We had runny eggs! Please save your money and skip this place.

After a day of hanging out in Chinatown I decided to grab a bite to eat. Fuleen Seafood Restaurant did not let me down. I didn’t expect the level of service that was given. I was seated where I wanted to sit, the chair was pulled out, a napkin was placed on my lap, and I was given a warm cloth to wipe my hands. Salted roasted peanuts, water, and tea were placed on the table and I was given the extensive menu to look over. After searching for a while I decided to get the seafood sticks, I wasn’t that hungry. The wait wasn’t long and the food was delicious. The seafood filling was flavorful but the showstopper was the crisp outer coating. Amazing and perfectly fried, I love a good crunch! I kept the menu and continued to look through it while I ate my food. I was never rushed and I was completely comfortable. Overall, this was a tasty snack at a hidden gem in Chinatown. I enjoyed my experience here and I might bring friends next time. FYI, there is a cc minimum!

Family and I came here for the family styled meal course. The meal started off with the platter of seaweed salad, jellyfish, and slices of ham. All in all I thought that was pretty good. The mayonnaise shrimp didn’t fail to disappoint. Very crispy and creamy. Everything else after that wasn’t very good. The soup was bland, it was tofu soup with some pieces of ham here and there. So bland that I had to add a lot of vinegar even for it to taste ok. The lobster was bland in some parts. Some saltier than some other parts. Maybe forgot seasoning. The chicken was ok nothing special. The whole fish was really bland and overlooked, not very good. The noodles and the fried rice were also bland. Idk if they just don’t have enough salt or flavoring. The tongsui and the fruit at the end was good. The cantaloupe was really sweet and so was the soup. Overall an ok place, the staff were very attentive though which was a great.

Oh My God, it’s disgusting. No, it’s bad for your health as well. Everyone should know about this restaurant. It is unacceptable. We have been going to FULEEN Seafood Restaurant on 11 Division St. New York, NY10002 for years. This is what we(few co-workers) saw on Wednesday 7÷11÷2012, when we went to this restaurant for lunch. After we placed our order of lunch specials(which included soup and rice), the waiter bought out a large bowl of soup with stock. After we finished consuming the bowl of soup, the waiter came over and collected the bowl which still had some left over soup and stock in it. He put our small soup bowl(some containing left over soup) into the larger soup bowl so it was easier for him to carry. The waiter took the bowl back to the work station which where a large soup pot, a rice cooker, and dirty dishes are located. The waiter took out the small soup bowls and started pouring the left over soup and stock from our large bowl back into the large soup pot and left the empty bowl on the side not sending it to the dirty dishes pile. When the next customer orders they will use the same used soup bowl and soup from the large soup pot to serve the next customer. This is ridiculous. This is not how you try to save a few cents. They need to stop this practice. This is what they do where we can see them in the restaurant floor. Imagine what they do where you can’t see them in the kitchen in the basement! We needed to boycott this restaurant. I found the review and thought I share it. But it’s from 2012 so maybe they stopped this practice now.

I went here with a Chinese friend who ordered for me. We had the dried/fresh squid appetizer followed by a fresh Dugenes crab. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. The service was excellent. Each time we filled our plates with crab shells the waiter appeared with a clean plate. We went on a Monday night so it was not too crowded. I look forward to returning.

My family used to come here a lot because my grandparents lived in the area and we used to take them here for their birthdays. The foods were decent, but the restaurant was extremely loud every time we were there(typical Chinese restaurant in Chinatown). What stood out the most for me is their Spicy Clam served in this garlic broth, Szechuan shrimp, and their various soups. They used to have these amazing $ 5 lunch deals too(with great portions sizes and side soup of the day). However, Fuleen changed management about 3 – 4 years ago, so I don’t know how it is anymore.

Thanks to a bunch of Unilocalers, I came here. I had so much food, vegetables, shrimp, chicken, rice, soup etc. And it was DELICIOUS. And the damage was only $ 10. That’s not even damage. Now when I go to Chipotle, I have to think twice. Spend $ 10 on a burrito(can’t even afford guac) or spend $ 10 on a lots of food?

This Chinese seafood restaurant is probably one of the best places I’d recommend for Chinese. It’s one of those really authentic Chinese restaurants that serve really really good, fresh and delicious chinese food. Seafood, not seafood — it’s all here. All the dishes are prepared really well and everything comes out fresh and tasty. I’ve been here a dozen times or more in the last 2 years — and their quality always is high. The wait staff are very nice even and patient with customers. They never made me feel rushed or were rude which is the normal attitude around chinatown. I’ll keep going back as long as the quality stays the same.

Don’t come here if you want generic«chinese» food. Don’t come here if the waiter bringing Mr Crab and Mr Lobster to your table to say hi before they go in the pan is going to freak you out. i was gonna say don’t come here if the waiter telling you how much food you actually need(in our case, trying to get us to order less) is going to annoy you, but instead I will say you should just be enthusiastic about how you’re really truly going to eat all that food you’re ordering and be persistent. Apparently its a cultural thing with the Chinese not to waste food, and if they think you won’t finish it, they’ll flatly tell you to order less. They clearly had no idea who they were dealing with, haha! We came here for dinner on Christmas Day and ordered lobster and crab and 3lbs of shrimp and a chicken and possibly some other things. The crab is the hands down highlight. It was amazing. Everything else was great too. We had some type of fishcake appetizer that was kinda blah, but otherwise everything was great! So delicious and authentic. We came back on New Years Eve! We skipped the lobster this time and just ordered two crabs between the 4 of us and a chicken. We’re little piglets. Yup. We also ordered a snail appetizer. I think it was in a black bean sauce. And more shrimp. It was a feast. Its what? The 10th? I’m overdue for some more crab. We were joking that next time we’re gonna order a crab each and what the reaction of the wait staff is going to be «TOOMUCH!!! NO4CRAB!!! 1CRAB!!! 1CRAB!!!»… Those crabs are amazing. Love this place.
