Top of the line in décor, fresh and original sushi dishes, rare types of fish, a very eccentric menu, high end all around with amazing drink and sake menu as well. I had my 30th Birthday Party here and it was extremely well received and absolutely fabulous.

Was here with the shrimp burgers groupon on a weekend, and parking was so easy on the street. We were seated at the M lounge, and were told that the dining area would be opened shortly. While we waited, the bartender asked us if we want any drinks, and because the Groupon includes two beers, we said no, but he still brought us two glasses of iced water. We were so impressed with their attitude and service. When we were seated at the dining area, we didnt expect chic interior decoration at all. The shrimp burgers were great but we were still happier with their services. They were attentive and the manager was very happy to hear our comments for the bartender. The menu price is a bit high, but you get excellent service and great food, what more can you ask for?

i came to this place because my friend was having a small after party and she invited me, i was in the neighborhood so i decided to go. Stepped in to the place i found it to be a very small and tight kinda of bar, i was going to leave because small and tight place are not for me but i stayed. Décor: Even though the bar looks small it looked very nice and upscale. There are some tables in the back for bottle service and sit around to chat with friends. The actually bar was small with rude bartenders that were clueless in what to do. This is not meant for a huge party with 100+ bodies but more like 20 – 30 people tops. since there was mostly girls in my friends after party i was super happy haha =]. Drinks: some of the drinks were overpriced but hey it is in Manhattan so i completely understand. Its was hard to get a drink because there was so many people at the bar ordering drinks. I didnt have to pay for anything so i was a happy camper. Overall the place was decent, place is small but a few drinks in your system you would think this lounge is the best place ever haha.

Sleek lounge/bar space, with glass windows overlooking the stairs leading into Megu’s lower level to provide an increased sense of space – something that doesn’t truly exist in here. There are a number of bottlenecks throughout, making a trek from the front to the bathrooms in the back quite an ordeal. It’s markedly difficult to order a drink here– a combination of awkward centralized bar placement and slow bar tenders. Drinks are not particularly cheap either, and there have been times a drink request was not able to be met. I’ve never been particularly enamored with the music, though at least there seems to be enough comfortable seating area to take a raincheck from dancing.

I came here for an afterparty to an event. The lounge isn’t that big, with several tables in the back for bottle service. The bar is an ok size with 2 bartenders. Its definitely not meant to be for a big event, but more for a relaxed and intimate evening for some close friends. Since there were so many people that went to the afterparty, it felt like a sardine can after a while. It took forever to get a drink due to the large amount of people crowding at the bar all trying to get a drink. I felt sort of sad for the bartenders, but they did give their best effort.

I went here for an after party on a Saturday night around midnight. The décor and ambiance was terrific. Wood floors, white leather seating, nice lighting, romantic even. The DJ was good. My cosmopolitan drink was okay, although the bartender could use an attitude adjustment. The con was the actual crowd simply because there was no crowd. Only about 17 people present. I’m not sure if its due to the time of night or because its newly opened after renovations. The bouncers are strict with dress code with the ladies, so be sure to make it dressy evening. Nothing casual or you will be turned away as I witnessed happen to someone. Bouncers like classy young crowd so if you’re older than 40 skip this place. For my african-american and latin friends. bouncers are accused of being bias so beware of that and be upscale in your presentation. I’ll definitely be back.

Me: Hello, do you have a bar I can sit at and have some sushi? Them: Silence and stares followed by — Um — ya… right around the corner. Me: Ahh, okay! Sat down for 15 minutes … nothing. Chirp Chirp — anyone going to come help me? I have money! Finally a bartender comes up, and I ask what the house specialty is. Silence and he responds with nothing helpful. I just order a glass of wine. I was told the Kobe Beef was the thing to try here — so I thought, Kobe Beef, Japanese restaurant — why not try the Kobe Beef Roll! It is pricey at $ 38.00, but when in Rome right? So I do — I order the Kobe Beef role. It arrives 40 — 50 minutes later — thank goodness I was entertained by technology — and much smaller than planned. I thought I’d get at large roll of 8 pieces for that price, but NO. It’s 4 pieces, and a small 4. I’m still not overly upset, because if the Kobe Beef lives up to what I’ve read on Unilocal,I’ll be a happy camper. I pick up the chopsticks, dip just slightly into the soy sauce, and here we go… Awful. So chewy, and bland, that I could barely swallow. I told him that the beef was far less tender than I was lead to believe, to which he responded something to the point of … that’s not good… Bad sushi, bad service(waited another 15 minutes just to say — Can I have my check to pay for this horrible and overpriced food!) and overall just bad experience. BAD!

Tucked away on a quiet side street in Tribeca is M Lounge(and Megu downstairs). I loved it’s serene, yet red and colorful decorations. The benches were plush and comfortable, the surroundings were quiet, and the atmosphere relaxing and inviting; perfect for forgetting about your day and/or an after-work date(or both!). My first drink was the«Set»(Grey Goose, honey, fresh ginger root, and… absynthe river stones?! One sat on the bottom of my drink and smelled like licorice. i’m not sure if it really served any purpose, but it was an interesting touch and part of the reason why I ordered the drink. lol). This drink combo was light and refreshing! I liked the big slice of fresh ginger on top that I did eat, and it went well with the drink(also good for boosting the immune system! Haha!). My second drink was the Ginger Cosmo(are you noticing I like ginger?) which the waiter assured me wasn’t sweet(I hate sweet drinks!), and it wasn’t. :) It had Grey Goose L’Orange, Cointreau, fresh ginger, lime juice & cranberry. I also sampled the«Tokyo Kiss» which was rich yet light at the same time. It had Grey Goose, Frangelico, lychee purée, mint, and cream. Very good(!), but warning that it will fill you up if you’re going to be having dinner afterwards! Unfortunately, none of the drinks off of the«Luxury Drink» menu were available. I was really curious to sample the«Beluga Martini» made with caviar(!) or the«Sashimi Martini» with a long list of ingredients… Ready?! It’s made with Chopin, Sake, tomato juice, lemon juice, wasabi, green tea salt, and ponzu. Hopefully they’ll have it available next time! There was also no «Martini of The Day» offered, but other than those disappointments the drinks were unique and delicious!
