Came here for a special event, they are very, very good at crafted cocktails and service is really great

A total eye candy bar! Beautiful décor, dim lighting that will make your date look cuter then they might be, and amazing drinks from people behind the Raines law room. I had an old fashioned, as I do in every new spot that I try, and it was very well executed. The menu looked fun with tons of creative cocktails. And the whole«ring the button for service» is great when you just want to tell the rest of that embarrassing story without the waiter hovering over.

I liked Raines Law Room and Dear Irving, so I had to come check this place out! It’s cute and small, with turquoise seats and pretty lights! There’s also a button you press whenever you want a server to come to you(similar to Dear Irving). The Bergdorf Lunch cocktail was pretty strong and tasty, whereas the St. Germain was sweet and light. They poured the St. Germain from another bottle and left extra for us(love it when that happens!). We also had the cocktail cookies, which included the dark n stormy, lemon elderflower, heather & peat and some milk. The dark n stormy wasn’t so great, but the other two were! Alcohol-infused cookies… yum. Service was fantastic as well! Oh, and I should definitely come here for brunch next time-the menu looked great for that!

The Bennett is like walking into a Great Gatsby(the movie) themed bar/restaurant, which is a good thing! It’s that speakeasy vibe with the great music, great cocktails, and tasty food. I came here with my girlfriend and she was very pleased with the place. The service was amazing, starting right when we walked in all the way to when we left. There are little push switches on the wall that call your waiter/waitress over, but we didn’t really need that since they serviced us right away with smiles. They made me feel special there and that feeling is reason why I will definitely recommend this place to others. Service: 5 out of 5 The cocktails are really great and tasty as well. We ordered 2 cocktails: the Bennett and some apple brandy cocktail. Both were amazing and great for sipping on through the night. At $ 15/cocktail, it’s not the cheapest place to get drinks but they are made very well. Drinks: 4 out of 5(for price). The food was very tasty, though portion sizes are a bit lacking for the price. We ordered the croquettes to start — and they were very very very good! I ordered the original burger and my girlfriend ordered the shrimp dish. Both tasted really good, but they were small dishes(maybe the perfect serving size, to be honest). Running at $ 15 – 17 per«entrée», it’s a bit pricey to really go all out with food. Food: 3 out of 5(for price) Overall I really like the place. As with other reviews, The Bennett isn’t really a place for a sit down fancy dinner. It’s a great place to socialize, grab drink(s), and a few bites to eat.

Great new cocktail bar. Fun, adventurous menu that plays on classic drinks and incorporates some unusual and interesting ingredients. Any place that sources concord grapes for cocktails gets an extra boost in my book. Our server was«Sir V»(per the receipt) — not sure of his real name but he did a great job recommending drinks(including some off menu). Three other staff members rounded out the experience with attentive service. The décor is gorgeous and ornate but still inviting and comfortable. Every table has a small switch that can be turned on which illuminates a number behind the bar corresponding to the table. Service generally arrives with 10 — 20 seconds of turning on the light. On to some specifics(in rough order of delivery): Good Evening Spitfire(all drinks $ 15) — One of the menu items that caught my eye before coming, it did not disappoint. Per Sir V, conceived by the head bartender while enjoying a spiced iced coffee in New Orleans. They thought«mezcal would be good in this» and just so happened to have a flask of said libation. Frank of America — Another great drink. I wouldn’t mind a little more spiciness in the spiced maple but the overall package was fantastic. Dinosaur Kale($ 12) — Confusing name but a very hearty portion of kale dressed up as a caesar. If I recall, it’s the only healthy-ish option on the menu but very good and recommended. Griddled Toastie($ 12) — Grilled cheese with thinly sliced apple and grainy mustard. I thought it was ok, companion thought it was good. No reservations ordering it again but I thought it could use a bit more flavor and cohesion among the layers. Bennett Burger($ 17) — A tasty, if disappointingly simple offering. In an era of acceptance for $ 16 — $ 20 burgers, there’s still an expectation of heartiness and some sort of package — presentation on a board of picked vegetables or alongside a kettle pot of fries, for example. The Bennett Burger, while enjoyable, was panini-sized and served alone on a small plate. I’d pay $ 12, maybe $ 14, for it, but at $ 17 it needs more. Dove Dispatch — A fun, adventurous cocktail with simple syrup infused with red bell pepper. I was curious how the pepper would come through in the drink. It was pretty subtle — I could have used more of the flavor but I imagine it’s a tricky essence to capture. Andean Dusk — A French 75 with the addition of muddled concord grapes. I adore concord grapes, which led to me liking this twist on a cocktail I don’t particularly gravitate to. One of the bartenders obliged me and chatted about the grapes for a bit and let me know where I might find them :)

this spot is new and(for now) quiet & spacious. service was prompt — i liked the button you push to ring for a drink. the cocktails we had were really well made. the food menu was small & pricey. i liked the shrimp i got. i’m wary that it will become over-crowded in the new year, so will re-review on my 2nd trip.

Was visiting from out of town and was told about this place. Went to check it out and was completely disappointed. Who would want to go to a place and be told, rudely I might add what I want to drink. Because you can’t get what you want. Everything was completely unorganized. And the staff were rude and unprofessional. When I asked to speak with the owner Megan, I could see why the place was so awful with someone with her attitude running it. I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant to my enemy. Awful.

The«Raines Law Room» group has done it again. A buddy of mine at the office reminded me about this place so I figured I’d give it a shot while it’s fresh on my mind. When you walk in to this place, you’ll realize that they took a completely different approach to this bar. No door bells, no hidden entrances, no booths covered in crystals. You do however get a pretty long bar that is absolutely stocked with ultra premium liquors and very experienced mixologists. The food here is very good, but don’t expect to have a complete meal here. Drinks @ $ 15 a pop are as you’d expect for a place of this caliber. After our first round, we let the bartender’s creativity take the wheel for the rest of the night. Great, spot, good crowd and relatively low key. I would highly recommend it.

Went here for drinks with co-workers. The ambiance is dark, cozy, and upper class. We were welcomed immediately and promptly given a table. You flip a switch behind you for service which is pretty retro and cool. The food was delicious(recommend the yuca appetizer and steak skewers). We drank whiskey and scotch and the cocktails were made to perfection — we watched the bartenders meticulously prepare and stir each drink. However, my complaint is that the food and drinks are way overpriced. As for food, price does not match quality or quantity. As for drinks, $ 15 per cocktail and $ 24 for a single Bookers is just not going to keep me and my coworkers there past one drink — even with top shelf liquor being served. It definitely has a high end feel and I had a great experience, but I unfortunately won’t make it a regular spot.

I was a little disappointed in The Bennett. It’s owned by the famous NYC speakeasy The Raines Law Room so you’d assume it would be just as amazing. The Bennett is a speakeasy, but it doesn’t feel that way. You walk into an unmarked restaurant and go through dark black curtains and you’re in! It looks very TriBeCa and they have several cocktails to choose from all around $ 14 or so. I ordered the something«lunch» and it came in a tall glass. It’s one of their sweeter drinks and was good, but they shoved so much ice in it, I barely had any drink to enjoy. The Bennett wasn’t an bad place to go and we don’t regret going, but there’s many better places to go in a city full of the best bars in the USA. I recommend The Raines Law Room.

The mixologists here are serious with hand crafted, innovative infused cocktails. The type of place where they spend 5 minutes or more perfecting each drink. The crowd is trendy and sophisticated and the vibe is sexy with a design that leans on marble, brass and leather for a retro feel with a modern twist. Not as cozy as their sister speakeasies Raines Law Room and Dear Irving, which both provide more intimate, varied nooks, but a welcome addition to the TriBeCa scene. A great place to go and catch up with friends, get a night cap after a first date, or just people watch. It’s somehow quintessential New York City. Love the innovation that is in their cocktail offerings. Recommend the Andean Dusk, a refreshing concoction of pisco, lemon, grapes and sparkling rose.

I wasn’t aware that The Bennett was in the business of selling sex toys. And by sex toy, I refer to the baconwalnut marmalade that accompanies the quail skewer. The waitress, my companion, and I all agreed that they need to bottle it up and sell it for home, er, consumption, because holy god is it ever delish. What would have been a three-star review turned into four because of that jammy goodness. The folks at the table to my left didn’t touch the stuff and I was torn between giving them side-eye and leaning over to ask if I could have theirs. The Good Evening, Spitfire and Andean Dusk went down easily(too easily, if you ask me). You can expect the same quality service and drinks as at Raines, though I’m a bigger fan of Raines because of the ambiance. And the biggest complaint, as always, is the price. The food, while good, is way overpriced. Except for that marmalade. I would sell my own grandmother to get my hands on the recipe.

As a fan of Raines Law and Dear Irving, I was pretty excited to go to the newest member of that stellar group, and it did not disappoint. My boyfriend and I met two friends there at 8 pm on a Saturday night, and we got seated right away at a table in the back. It has a different vibe from either of the other places – not a speakeasy like Raines, and not as uniquely decorated as Dear Irving, but very classy and cool. Also not too loud – easy to have a conversation and be heard. For our first round, I got the Hero of Little Venice(aged rum, sweet vermouth, egg, root beer), which was hands down one of the most delicious cocktails I’ve ever had in my life – like egg nog with a bit of root beer. I honestly wanted to just drink it down in a few gulps, but made myself sip it. I could have easily ordered another one, but I wanted to try something else, so for my second drink, I got the Bennett(gin, lime cordial, angostura bitters), which was also top notch and much lighter than the Hero of Little Venice – more along the lines of a gimlet. Other drinks people in my group got: Wildest Redhead(blended scotch, lemon, honey, all-spice, cherry heering), Frank of America(rye, byrrh, amaro abano, spiced maple, angostura bitters), Dulcinea(aged rum, crema de mezcal, cream sherry, mole bitters), and something else that escapes me right now. Everyone seemed happy with their choices, and we all agreed that we wanted to return. I don’t work all that far away from here, so I can definitely foresee coming back in the near future.

I love this new bar. I love it most when it’s not crowded, but even when it’s crowded, it’s small enough that you get individual attention from the bartenders, who can wax poetic about shrubs, right hand/left hand drinks, and other lovely cocktail lore. The cauliflower croquettes are not to be missed.

It’s like they designed a cozy little cocktail bar just for me. The Bennett has everything I love in a local neighborhood haunt. Despite discovering them on only their second day open, the place felt like it had been operating for years, with me and my colleagues being treated as if we were regulars. I expected to be greeted with pretension, what with this being Tribeca and all, but there is nothing pretentious about the place. Everyone is warm, friendly, and accommodating. And as for the décor, minimalism has never been executed so gorgeously — the room is cozy and beautiful inside, perfect for hunkering down in the low light with friends over expertly-made cocktails and small plates. Upon being sat, we were immediately drawn to the little lightswitch-like contraptions at each table. I couldn’t help myself, so I just flipped ours up. A tiny little light appeared. Within seconds, our server came over and asked if we were ready to order.(A-ha!) So order we did, at which point he politely told us we could turn our switch back off. I wanted to write the whole thing off as gimmicky until I realized just how perfectly the system worked. No, «hey, excuse me, can we order some drinks over here?» necessary. Enjoy your rounds, and when you’re ready for the next one, just flip your little switch on. The Bennett is tiny in all the best of ways, but alas I realize this will likely mean I’ll never get in again, as this place will be wildly popular in no time. But that won’t stop me from trying. Now that I work one day a week in the area, I’m pretty sure I know where I’ll be popping in to liquor myself up before the long train trek home. Best of luck to these guys!

Love this new addition to the neighborhood even though we were sad to lose Petite Abeille :(. We went the second night it opened and it was already packed. Very cute atmosphere, with high top tables and buttons at each table that light up when you’re ready to order(this technology should be at every bar!). The food looked amazing, but we only went for cocktails and dessert. I tried the Frank of America, which was delicious and tasted like a twist on a Manhattan. We also tried two sweet drinks – the Bergdorf lunch and one that had banana liquor and rum(SO good!). Ordered the cookie plate, which had very unusual flavors and came with two glasses of milk. One of them was a dark & stormy cookie with caramelized ginger, another was a lemon elderflower and a smoky-peat one(I wasn’t a fan of). Overall great experience. Staff was friendly, we will definitely be back!

New from the team that brings you such fabulous watering holes as Raines Law Room and Dear Irving(not to mention La Maison du Croque Monsieur on 13th), The Bennett has landed in TriBeCa. It’s only been open a couple days, but if history repeats itself, the heritage of the ownership brand should mean long term success. The décor is elegantly minimalist. Copper seems to be the color scheme of choice. They feature both a robust drink menu and enough snacks to satisfy a light appetite. I was only in for a quick cocktail and opted for the Good Evening Spitfire. The drink features ancho chile liqueur, mezcal, coconut milk, cold brew, and garnished with a dust of nutmeg. Dropped on top of a proper cube of ice and served in a mug, it’s a holiday winner ripe for a cold night in Manhattan. The cocktail prices are reflective of the neighborhood($ 15), so it’s not the place for squeamish credit card purchases. If you want a beer and a shot, there’s always The Patriot a few blocks yonder. Looking forward to trying the food on a future visit.

The Bennett is a new addition to the Tribeca neighborhood. It has a vintage glamour about it — décor is understated but elegant with a pops of flash. The chandeliers & dimly lit table lamps keep the mood intimate but mellow. The cocktail list, fare menu and beer & wine list are all pretty concise but this is cool if you know what you want. Although on the pricier side for after work cocktails, perhaps some kind of happy hour will make it more accessible in the near future. Regardless, it is still a relaxing place to unwind and sip on cocktails. Owned by the team that developed The Raines Law Room, this concept is a bit more minimalist in terms of giving you the speakeasy vibe. You gotta love the service bells — a detail that made the leap from The Raines Law Room.
