Coming from Germany and being on a business trip, finding this spot is an absolute lucky shot. Very authentic, original and cosy. Actually I am sitting right now here and decided to write my first review. Great place.

Well, things were good(like the beer selection), until they decided that they’re too good to watch snowboarding at the X Games in exchange for a «DJ»(who resembles Fran Fine’s Grandmom there straight out of a Flushing nursing home with sparkly hat and all). The only difference is that Fran’s Grandma Yeta didn’t have a MacBook Pro, but this sad excuse for a «DJ» does. I’m pretty sure my own iTunes on shuffle would provide better music. I hope y’all like Spice Girls… SPICEUPYOURLIFE… at another bar, or on the corner with a 40 because this place will suck the life out of you after a certain hour.

This is an absolute gem in the city! As part of a meet-up event, myself and a group of 6 ladies came here for some after-work/happy hour fun and a FREE comedy show. The décor is nice, reminds me of colonial times. The crowd and ambience features a mature crowd of mostly late 20s-30s. But the best of it all, is the music! The music is so awesome! It was a nice mix of old-school R&B and pop. I wanted to get up and bust-a-move but I couldn’t because it was so packed(ha!). The comedy show was also superb, but it didn’t start at the time indicated online, which was 7:30pm. In fact, they had 2 shows, 1 at 6pm and another at 8:30pm. I could only stay for 3 comedians, but they were very good nonetheless. I will be returning and recommend anyone to visit.

Is there a better bar in NYC? Well, that answer would only be subjective. I love this bar as much as anyone loves their local. Perfect mix of weirdos, squares, foreigners and parents. Great bar. Great music, but most importantly the beat bartenders.

Fun place to come on a Friday night. Good crowd, decent drinks. Front and back entrances open this place up and make it feel less claustrophobic. It was a great place to catch up with friends. Will keep it on my list for places to come back to in the LES.

Stopped in for one quick beer while waiting for a friend last night. In that short amount of time I was ignored by the male bartender who was on his phone and talking to friends at the bar, then witnessed him be pretty rude to a customer who didn’t speak English very well and was asked a few times if a certain beer was light or dark. The place was not crowded and no other people were waiting to order, so it’s not like the bartender had cause to be so annoyed. Gave me a really crappy feeling, can’t stand that kind of attitude. Won’t be back.

Craft cocktails were well done. Good music and ambience, as long as you weren’t staring at the tv. Large tv made it feel like a sports bar.

I recently had my MAT graduation party at Lucky Jack’s on a Saturday. It was perfect, everything went smooth, my guests had the best time and the party was very memorable. I was able to put a few subtle decorations up and bring a platter of food. The music was really great and the crowd was nice as well. Zachary the manager as well as the bartender is very professional, kind and has good positive energy. I highly recommend Lucky Jack’s! I usually don’t have a party at the same spot I had one but I would consider having another party there! Great place, great atmosphere, great drinks, great music, great staff even the bouncers were nice, and great crowd. What an awesome place and one of the best parties I ever had. Cheers to you and thank you Lucky Jacks! I can’t wait to come back again! Keep up the great work!

I stopped by here with my girls on a thursday afternoon around 6. The bar was almost empty and so our bartender, Jade was very attentive to us. I actually gave this place an extra star because she was that amazing/funny. Anyways, I ordered Kamikaze and I’ve got to say its the BEST kamikaze I had in this area. I highly recommend everyone to order kamikaze or the boozy slushie. :) Oh and if you come by at 9pm, they have a free comedy show at the bar. We wanted to come back but got lost during the night and didn’t make it back to Lucky Jack’s.

«Gandhi is that you?» is the best free standup show if not the best comedy I’ve seen in the City so far. Plus, it’s a great bar in a location worth exploring for both tourists and locals alike. I would highly recommend.

This place is divey but fun. I really enjoyed the female DJ and what she was spinning. You could tell this was a local spot and wasn’t crowded on a Saturday night around 12a(I hate crowds).

Cool bar in the LES for dancing and drinking. There are coat hooks hanging along the walls too. There are 2 bathrooms, one at the back, where most of the dancing takes place(there isn’t a proper dance floor) and one downstairs. Downstairs appears to be another bar but it wasn’t really popping even though I went on a weekend. Overall fun place to go to.

Just attended a free comedy show here tonight with a girlfriend. No cover, no drink minimums, and they bribe you to stay until the end of the show with free pizza. The show was supposed to be 2 hrs long(9 — 11) and we couldn’t stay until the end so we missed out on the pizza, but the comedians were decent. We had a surprise comedian drop by(don’t know his name but he’s on the show 30 rock and has wild, crazy hair and glasses) and he was by far the best of the night. They boast only pro comedians perform but I’d have to disagree, as a few of the comedians just really crashed and burned and were even looking at their notes to remember what they should talk about next. The show itself took place in the basement, and was packed with about 70 or so people. If you get there early you can get a seat, but otherwise it’s standing room — and a lot of people were standing. All in all I’d say it was a decent girl’s night out: It was a great chance to catch up with free entertainment thrown into the mix. There was also no issue finding free parking, which I really appreciated. You have to read the signs though as there are night regulations from 12am — 3am

I stopped by here on my last visit to the city. We were visiting family and they took us here to try the pickle back shots. Apparently they are all the rage in NYC right now. Maybe elsewhere too. So we had four shots of Tullamore Dew irish whiskey and four shots of pickle juice. You chase the whiskey with the pickle juice. It’s supposed to be amazingly delicious or something. And everyone seemed to like it, that is, except for me. As soon as I took the pickle chaser, I immediately felt sick to my stomach and wanted to vomit. I then started having the«about to vomit» feeling. Awesome bartender comes over and asks me if i wanted some water to which I nodded and served up a refreshing, ice water with lemon instantly which allowed me to get over my nausea and continue with my day. If it weren’t for the timing of that water, it would have been a disaster. Be on notice though, that pickle juice can have some serious effects. It came back to haunt me later that night, but was quelled with a delicious sandwich. The décor ambiance was cool. i would totally hang out there. And the service was clutch. The bathroom has a ton of stickers everywhere, and while I would prefer not to have to do a number two there, there would be a lot of interesting things to read while visiting. I don’t make it to NYC that often, and when I do, I don’t usually make it to the lower east side, so i don’t know how long it’ll be before I return. but if i lived in the city and especially in the neighborhood, I’d be back often, Great selection of booze too.

I had a great time here. I came in around 10 or so on a Friday night and found the place pretty calm(thankfully). Me and my friend weren’t quite ready to dive into LES craziness. Our bartenders were awesome and attentive. Really enjoyed the Schneider Weisse, it’s a dark wheat beer! I was very excited :) The DJ was pretty good, putting on some classics fifties/sixties stuff earlier on and mixing it with some newer stuff that I can never identify. But she did play Kimbra and Gangstas Paradise for me! The bar is looooong. Is it the longest bar in NY? We may never know, but you’ve got a great chance of getting a seat.

Back for another night of bad comedy and free pizza(sarcasm). «Ghandi, is that you?» free comedy night every Wednesday at 9pm, many comedians from tv such as comedy central and stand up competitions, always entertaining. Did i mention cheap drinks? So your pretty much garunteed a laugh. Btw you know what happens when you sit front row at a comedy show right? Come early and choose wisely.

Lots of fun stuff to do, super dope and friendly bartender(who also knew where to go in the area, too). Came here for the comedy show on Wednesdays. Great that it has two entrances, too. Downstairs room looks great! Way better than upstairs!

This is a Unilocal find for me! Went for a comedy show that was listed under events. Cool bar, Its like… long…lol Huge bar, TV’s, a few high tables off to the side. Pin up art on the walls, which you already know… I LOVE! Comedy show was downstairs, in kind of like a «basement» type room with a small bar. Plenty of chairs for a not so big space. We were late, so up to the empty second row we go… lol We saw«is that you Gandhi?», great comedy show! Good drinks, average price 10 or 11 bucks. Bartender was friendly. This is a pretty cool spot, would def come back!
