Great place 1÷30÷2016 loved the arepa deliciously amazing!!! And they can make it gluten free and the wine yummy and fresh since its on tap. You can sample any and all! And service was awesome great owners. Only thing is I wish wine was served in actually wine glasses instead of glass cups, I’m old fashion like that lol enjoy it though

This place is great. It’s small, but really cozy. couches line the walls and the lighting is dim. The staff is so nice — they let you sample a few wines before you commit to one. Standard size glasses range from $ 8-$ 15, with the option to get larger pourings in carafes. I love the idea of wine on tap and the fact that they pay their employees well above minimum wage so tipping is not necessary. I also had a cheese plate when I was there which was great. Overall I loved this place for a lowkey Friday night with a friend where we just wanted to try 3 or 4 different types of wine. I’ll be back for sure.

Lois is amazing! I’m so sad I don’t live in Alphabet City — it would for sure be my go-to neighborhood spot. I’ve been twice in a week and apparently can’t get enough of the relaxed, Scandinavian-esque vibe. They have a decent amount(maybe 20?) wines on top, and I was a fan of the crianza, but especially of the smoky, subtle sirah I tried the second visit. I love how you can get wines by the class, or by the small/medium/large carafe. We came here for dinner and the food was excellent — my friend and I split a goat cheese and the rye bread with crème fraiche and each got the house salad — a surprisingly filling and seasonal dish with dark greens, pomegranate seeds, roasted squash and sharp cheddar. It almost reminded me of something Sweetgreen would make, which is a big compliment. The menu is small and this is definitely a small plates type of place, so if you’re in the mood for something like a burger or steak, maybe just come for wine — regardless, you’ll enjoy the experience.

YAS this place. Great wine bar. All I ask for a night out drinking is a cool spot, enough people but not crowded, and tasty drinks to match. Lois is definitely all of this. They have a large selection of wines. Bartender was great at recommending and letting you try before you buy. You can buy a glass, a half carafe, or a full carafe. Really appreciated that. They have cute glasses as well. We bought several whites and rosés and we were fans of all of them. They offer food as well. The seating is great. Ample table seating and bar seating(they write on the menu wall if you sit at a table gratuity is included, optional at the bar.) The bar seating has hooks(for all the sh*t you lug around now that its winter) and also outlets(I love seeing this! Now you don’t have to bother the bartender and ask the to charge your phone for you haha) Please do yourself a favor and check this place out. Good for a chill time with friends or a date.

Loved this place! Earlier in the night I went to this stuck up bar that put me in a horrid mood to say the least and Lois turned my night around! It’s small, but the vibe is so good! It’s chill, the bartender was lovely and plenty of wine to try. Given the wine is on tap, you can sample before you buy. They have different sized carafes and you can buy single glasses. Great place to share some wine with friends and sit around to chat. So cutesy! I’ll definitely be back!

Best wine bar in New York. Hands down. Possibly best bar in New York. Great design, great vibe, all wine on tap which makes it interesting and more fun somehow. Adorable little books to sit in.

very small, but very cozy wine bar. the main draw is the fact that they have all their wines on tap which at first seems a little odd and there’s a fear that the wine will taste watery or like its 2 days old, but that isnt the case; all the wines ive tried were fresh and unique. food-wise, i tried to order the avocado arepa but they were sold out of those, so we got the sausage rolls instead. these were really tasty bite sized pieces of sausage, perfect to munch on while sipping your wine. overall, laid back and cozy vibe, nice selection of wine and tasty tapas.

Intimate feel with super cute décor and lovely glassware. We enjoyed the wines we tried and thought the prices were reasonable. Service was friendly and knowledgable. Can’t wait to come back.

We came and had a great time until we tucked into the sausage rolls. As the place is quite dark — we didn’t realise until two sections in that the meat was completely raw. We got an apology and the sausage roll taken off the bill — but not really worth the food poisoning!

Been here twice now and love this place! Great variety of affordable wines that you can try before you buy. They also have various size options based on how many people are in your group and want the same wine — glass, half carafe, full carafe, bottle. They have limited food options, but everything I’ve tried is delicious and you can still make a meal of it if you order a few of the small plates.

Wine on tap, BECAREFUL. New spot on Ave C which has more and more bars openings I feel Small spot, nice venue. Good date spot, not much on the food side here though. Prices are standard here. They do also sell beer which is nice just in case. Nice variety of tasty wines, cant really comment much on value or if they were fancy of cheap wines. Worth checking out

This has been my new favorite bar for about 2 months now. I LOVELOIS. Wine on tap is such an interesting idea! They have tons of different red and white wines on tap, and usually one rose, one sparkling, and one beer option. The wines rotate so there are often different and new options when I go in. I love that you can order a glass or 3 different sizes of carafes. prices are great and the place is super cute. go check it out!

Super cute and/or romantic atmosphere. Great wine selection and decent prices. Olives were on point too! Service on two visits was competent and quick, though a touch on the cool side. Tip: AC blasts the first few bar seats, and late there’s minimal table service so don’t wait around expectantly.

With sixteen wines on draft, what more can you ask for?! A delightful, sustainable concept. You can choose from four different glass sizes, so perfect for sampling if you’re with a group of people. The bartender is very knowledgeable and can suggest exactly what you’re looking for, but it would be helpful if at least the origin of the wine could be included on the menu. Also, since the wines rotate and it’s spring, would like to see more rosé on tap and less heavy reds. Will definitely come back!

Great casual wine bar in the East Village that will make you come back to try everything on tap! Very intimate but not intimidating — the bartenders are more than willing to suggest different wines, the music is casual(with a range from Blink 182 to jazz playing), and the prices aren’t bad. Bonus: You can hop next door to ABC Beer Co. for a beer if your tastes change throughout or make your way two doors down to Bob White for amazing fried chicken after your booze trip.

Our new favorite wine bar, this place is a gem in the east village. Pinot noir on tap? Yes plz. Low key, unpretentious and good music, this place is good for groups and for dates. Lois serves a wide variety of wines on tap and the rotation changes constantly, allowing for one to discover their favorites. Also, this is a great way to learn about different types of wine. The bartender we met tonight, Sean, is awesome and super knowledgeable. Curious about a particular wine? Ask and he’s more than happy to share his knowledge and let you have a taste to see for yourself. What an awesome way to learn and enjoy. Also, the wine is so well-priced. Highly recommend checking out Lois.

This place is really awesome, a very small cozy restaurant located a few avenues away from noisier bar streets. The first thing you will notice when you step in is the loud ambience generated by the crowd in this small restaurant which may surprise you because of the quiet streets that this venue is located on. The next thing you may notice is the big blackboards placed on the wall to the left with their menu. They have a great variety of wine, drinks, and food which are switched around every now and then. We had the opportunity to see the waiter change the menu by carefully picking out already cut up alphabet letters and neatly sticking them onto the blackboard. The waiter was very helpful in giving us suggestions based on what we were looking for in terms of wine, and gave us samples to taste. The wine here are on tap which is interesting. Bottles come in three different sizes. For those who do not drink much, the smallest bottle can be shared between two people and will fill up approximately two to three cups in total. They have interesting snacks, such as a variety of cheese, duck sandwich, etc. Would highly recommend.

What a cool idea! When I heard«draft wine bar», I was intrigued. Does this mean wine on tap?!? Indeed, it does. And it’s not just a gimmick, this wine is the real deal. You walk in and are immediately struck by how small it is. I fear for the day when this place is on the radar of the masses — it’s going to be impossible to get in here. But luckily, my date is quite in-the-know about up-and-coming(hyphens for DAYS), and he had read about this place soon after in opened(only a few weeks ago), so we were able to get a table pretty painlessly. You will also be struck by the absence of wine bottles. Yes, that is indeed what a draft wine bar means. The décor is simple and sleek. Lots of metal and glass. The ceiling has some great metal detailing, with large, orbacular(there’s no good adjective for the word«orb», so I need to improvise) lights hanging from it. Though brighter than most wine bars out there, it’s still somewhat cozy. But it’s definitely unlike any wine bar I’ve ever been to — that’s part of its allure. Upon sitting down, we realized after waiting for a bit that there is no table service here. Lois just opened so that may change, but we had to order everything(food included) up at the bar. Both of us are Malbec fans, so we went with 500mL of that(you have a choice of three sizes, given that there aren’t bottles). And it was FRESH(in all senses of the word). I actually don’t mind red wine when it’s a bit chilled(it’s either served room temp or served just slightly chilled), and this was probably somewhere between 50 – 60 degrees. They also don’t have wine glasses — the closest thing I can compare their glasses to are ones of the whiskey variety. Another nice little nuance of the place. Onto the food: There are very few options to choose from, but they are all dynamite(I basically never use that word, both for the lame-factor and for the hyperbole). We wanted something of substance, so we ordered the House-made Pork Rillettes with crostinis, and the House-made Duck Confit Arepa with pickled onions and spicy aoili. There’s this thing about small menus. Big and/or diverse menus are suspect, because you can rarely do a lot of things really well. But with small menus, it’s usually safe to assume that the few things offered are done really, really well. This was absolutely, definitely, spectacularly, overwhelmingly the case here. Pork: Served cold with some sort of fruity marmalade/jam on top. At first we thought the marmalade was some weird pureed pork thing, which caused some inital panic. Then we got to our«ah hah» moment and realized that the pork, was in fact, underneath. So don’t be alarmed! Anyway, it was very tasty, and this is coming from someone who very rarely eats pork. Juicy, lots of flavor, and paired very nicely with the sweet marmalade on top. Duck: Upon sinking our teeth in to the sandwich-style duck confit, we made some sounds that are… um…usually reserved for other activities. Food porn at its finest, ladies and gents. I’m not sure what they put in that aoili, but it might be crack-based. This preparation was so unbelievably flavorful. Each component had a purpose. This small plate proved that simple, when done right, is just as good — if not better — than complex. 5STARS!!!

Love this little place! Came in for a glass while waiting for a table at Bob White(right next door) and didn’t want to leave! Lovely interior, very welcoming. The ladies behind the bar are sweet and awesome, will gladly take the time to help you choose a wine and give you a sample, even when they are slammed. And lots of great choices. Sometimes wine lists can be overwhelming but they have a nice, well-sized selection with good variety. Didn’t get to sample the snacks but seems like nice options. Plus I just love the short stack glasses they serve wine in. Great spot!
