Came here on a thursday night and was surprised to see the place pretty live! $ 30+ for the hookah, drinks were not cheap but the music and the atmosphere was definitely great! That being said the bartenders were very rude even after tipping them generously after every round of drinks. We had asked them to move our hookah to a table where our friends were from the bar, and she told us «You can move it yourself…». This def. caught me off guard!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I have three things to complain about. Here goes, I ordered something off the petite section of the menu and was given something from the giant plate section of the menu(the plate names were VERY similar). They both had lamb in the description. so when my plate was given to me, who am I to know the difference? Secondly, I gave my card to pay but then was told they only accept cards with chips which probably is a lie and ridiculous. There was no prior knowledge given about the type of cards accepted. Thankfully, my friend put my bill on her card. Now, back to the food… I was charged $ 29 for the lamb when I ordered the $ 12 one. So stupid. Waiter said he couldn’t do anything about it because«I ate it already»??? How the hell am I supposed to know the difference between the two. It’s not like one came with fries and the other didn’t. But I guess that’s what they do to rob people. SMH… Lastly, they were supposed to split the cost on two other persons cards but«accidentally» charged everything on one card. This place is a joke and I would never go back. That’s all. — An angry girlfriend writing from her boyfriend’s account.

I used to come here when le souk was just a restaurant turn bar with good music. I don’t know what happened but they became one of those pretentious places in NY. $ 250 bottle services only, that’s what we were told last night around 12am. I saw a group of six getting bottle service but the 7th person had to pay $ 20 cover. Are u kidding me? I don’t know why this place is still packed. There are so many other less bitchy places around.

If you wanna go to a place with a lot of under 21 year olds in a 21+ place this is the place for you. Place smells like the city sewer. Drinks are way to over priced for the type of place your at. Music sucks. There are so many more Saturday night places to go to in the Chelsea district than here.

If I could post zero stars I would. WILLNEVERGOBACK. WILLNEVERRECOMMEND. Ambiance is nice, prices are okay for New York. However service was atrocious: 1) ordered once– told to check back 2) ordered twice — told to check back again for food 3) ordered 3X– told kitchen was close 4) orders 4X– told had to wait 30 min(after already waiting for an hour and a half for food) 5) ordered 5X– hostess begged us to stay bc «she’d take care of us» 6) now we’re at the 2.5 hour mark– decided to grow a pair and leave. We only waited bc we had some time to kill and our friend was DJing. WILLNEVERGOBACK. WILLNEVERRECOMMEND.

This night club though small offers a lot. Live drummers, and what seemed to be a masquerade party. The music was loud and high energy all night, though it wasn’t my taste. Great if your looking for a smaller scaled night lounge in Nyc, as well as some visual stimulants.

this establishment doesn’t even deserve a star at all. The owner of this establishment is a complete bitch I came here on serveral occasions and it’s always an issue. She’s not sympathetic to customers needs at all and doesn’t run her business properly. The bar isn’t handled well and the reservations mean nothing. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. By all means don’t come here.

Super disappointed because I was excited about the idea of this place. Three friends and myself came here for dinner and hookah. The food is extremely overpriced. The new menu is too fancy… I had looked up their menu in the past and it had a variety of dishes listed but when we went they had just changed their menu. Small plate of eggplant for an appetizer was almost $ 15! And they only give you 4 pieces of bread when we had ordered hummus and eggplant. Not impressed. We were going to stay for dinner but opted to just finish our apps and drinks and find somewhere else for our meals. Drinks were good though. Bartender made a good cocktail. But the food service was spotty. Hookah was okay but they never came around to replace our coals. One of the most annoying things is that our bill was a little over $ 100 and the server said they weren’t allowed to split it between 4 cards. I’m sure it’s not her rule but one implemented by management… poor call. Speaking of management, I witnessed what looked to be a manager, man in his mid 30s’, verbal degrade one of his female bar staff. I understand pressure when a place gets busy, but that was uncalled for. I will never give my money to people that treat their staff like that. Needless to say, we won’t be back. Le Souk could have potential but management needs to step up and make some major changes to the menu, atmosphere and themselves. Not worth your time or money.

Came here on a weeknight and was surprised to see it was pretty happening around 11. Awesome décor/vibe, interesting crowd, great DJ so 3 stars for that. Unlike other reviewers, my friend and I did not have any issues at the door getting in. But I did find it strange that there was a «mandatory coat check after 10 pm» but others definitely arrived after us still wearing their outerwear? Is this some sort of cheap ploy to make $ 3 off of me because I look like I’ll pay it??? I don’t get it. Seems like there are a lot of inconsistent policies here so be prepared. We ordered a pineapple mint hookah and it was weak sauce. Not the best I’ve ever had and also cost $ 40 with no coal refills in the hour we were there. It would be nice to see some better quality hookah here.

I came here for brunch on Sunday April 24th& it was great, the music, the food I loved it, All I have to say is, please get rid of the plastic cups, I watched every table receive those cups and complain about how filthy and beat up they look. Also we ordered a pitcher of red sangria, it tastes cheap and terrible, so we ordered a mojito pitcher, which tasted equally as bad(like lemon mint water, barely any alcohol in it) but we were too tired of complaining about the drinks.

I plan to write a review for trip advisor as well as Facebook and any other place I can get my hands on. We came here to celebrate my birthday and worked with a promoter to get in. The place is what you would expect a dank hookah bar /restaurant. The paintings on the walls were kind of cool. I can’t speak to the food. We noticed that all the promoters were being seated with their party of girls while we waited a solid 10 to 15 mins before being seated in the very back, out of the mix. Well ok we thought since we weren’t paying for anything beggars can’t be choosers:). I’ll give you a hint of what separated us from everyone else; we were African American, Indian, and Spanish while everyone else in the club was white except for the promoters who were predominantly black males. Seems like a lounge for black male promoters and caucasian females. Anywho, we weren’t feeling the vibes nor the glaring looks our way. We had a right to be there too; I mean we got in via a promoter for free like everyone else. Lol. We were dressed properly and well put together. We are all educated and well spoken. The staring got to the point where one of my friends felt the need to say hello to the person staring. Lol. No response. We sat in the back for an hour or two before we decided to go. Music was a mix of top 40. There was some hiphop here and there which is when everyone started to move /dance a little bit. A good quote would be «everyone one wants to be black, but no one wants to be black.» You’ll sit there and enjoy hiphop music yet stare at girls of color like you’ve never seen them before. This is not a reflection directly of the lounge, but it is the crowd they try to promote. This lounge was just meh. If you like the crowd I just described then this place is for you!!! Go for it!!! If you like a place with a little bit more diversity then I would go someplace else. I shouldn’t have to wait for hiphop night to enjoy a place or feel welcomed! Enjoy!

Came here on a sunday night around 12. At the door bouncer kept trying to get us to buy bottles for 3 guys? I told them I want to check it out before. Walked in checked out the scene, it was pretty fun, good music, drinks and hookah! Came out told the bouncer its good, but not $ 400 for a bottle good, then he said $ 20 cover? Clearly these guys trying to get as much money out of you as possible. This spot is pretty much a restaurant/hookah spot at day, and tries to become a turn up club at night. Overall we had a good time for a late sunday night. Good option if your a hookah head like me.

I discovered Le Souk on google while searching for hookah restaurants to celebrate my cousins 30th birthday. I called the restaurant to ask a few questions. Some of the questions I asked were, is there a cover charge at the door, dress code, any events for the date we planned on attending 3÷9÷16. I was told the day we were planning to attend was Hip Hop night. .no cover charge. and dress code, dress to impress. On 3÷9÷16 we arrived to Le Souk on Laguardia Place at 11:28pm. Once we approached the door… the«hostess» says«Its $ 20» in a uncertain voice. I asked why… I informed her of the call I placed earlier in the day and the information I was given. She said thats the price. We paid $ 80 to get in. I was very unhappy with that, but my cousin still wanted to party… after all its her 30th birthday. While inside we had a great time… hookah. music…cocktails. I asked the waitress if there was a cover fee at the door and she replied«NO». We asked to speak to the manager. We also aked other people if they paid at the door and they paid $ 0! As we were exiting Le Souk I asked to speak to a manager. A short rude and insensitive woman approached me with an attitude and identifies herself as the manager. She began to tell me that $ 20 is what they charge. I then informed her of what I was told over the phone. She claimed she answered the phone and never told me that. That was a LIE! My friend then stepped in to talk to the manager. She honestly did not give us a clear reason for why we were charged $ 20. As a matter of fact she rudely walked away and slammed the door in my friends face. My sister was then talking to a man who claim to be an «owner». Like her he didnt have a clear answer as to why we were charged $ 20! He did say that some people get charged and others dont. He claims the bottle service tables are fake and they have to promote their club!/.I asked him one simple question«Did you charge us because were black»…There is absolutely no reason why they treated us this way. We spent over $ 300 in there. We are 4 Beautiful… Educated…Godfearing Women. We are Mothers… We deserve to be treated like every other person in this world… Racial Discrimination should never be ACCEPTABLE! LESOUKDISCRIMINATEDAGAINSTMEANDMYFRIENDS!!! Came here twice on two different visits to NYC. Plan to go again. First time was on a Sunday night. We had a table reserved for like 7 – 10 people with hookahs, drinks and food. Second time, just came for fun. Both times we had a great time! Le Souk is a great option if you are looking for a Hookah place. Only thing is, I think you need a bottle if you want a table.

So I revisited this gem recently after a hiatus of a few years. Upon entering, I remembered why I frequented this place years ago and I knew it was going to be a good night. It is a fairly large space, taking up 2.5 floors. The bottom floor has a small bar, the second floor has tables and coat check, and the top floor has couches lining the walls, a long bar right smack dab in the middle, and the bathroom. As there are people smoking hookah here, it’s worth to note that the ventilation system is amazing, probably one of the best that I’ve seen, but I came here once with a friend that has pretty bad asthma, and the ventilation couldn’t save him from getting all choked up when he came. I also have to note that the last time I was here, I saw someone smoking cigarettes while partying in a reserved couch section, not sure if any worker saw this, but I did and I can’t say I was happy about it. I haven’t ever had food, as I’ve only been for nights out. This is a popular birthday spot — as evidenced by the many people that order bottle service with the fancy sparkle presentation. I admit I’ve even celebrated a birthday here. They try to accommodate, by providing a couch section, but not necessarily large enough for the entire group. The music was pretty eclectic — there were top 40s mixed with more house styles. But as with many places, sometimes they cut awesome songs off early, leaving you just wanting more. There also was a belly dancer that came out for a decently long dance set and a drummer to drop beats all around the bar and get everyone pumped up. Drinks prices aren’t THAT bad… but they aren’t good either. Expect to pay about $ 7 for a bottled beer and 10+ for mixed drinks in tiny cups. Tip: The bill already has the tip built in, so beware or you will be overtipping. Although, if you server goes ABOVEANDBEYOND, I suppose it’s okay to throw a few extra dollars in too, but only for A&B service. There are single stall bathrooms and a bathroom attendant in the hand-washing area because although there are sinks in the bathroom, they turn the water off there. I don’t know if this place is going to get added to the rotation, but I’m sure I’ll be back for the nostalgia.

Had never been here before this weekend but the place was surprisingly REALLY fun! You can order hookah to your table(what?). A must-do. I guess it’s also a restaurant but I wouldn’t know anything about the food… Shoutout to ZEN who gave us amazing service and really seemed to care that our group had a fun experience!

The DJ here is great! Promoters are the way to go contour going to this venue! Also being a girl is the way to go as well! Not that you can help the way your were born. But all of my friends that were girls and I got in for free no cover. All of my guy friends paid a cover charge regardless of being on the lists. The drinks are good bartenders are attentive and the dancers are a nice touch! Did I mention the Hookah! #goodtime but there are some downfalls. One is that the lounge area is small! Between the workers and the guests you are constantly bumping into someone! The bouncers the clean up crew I mean it’s a constant push fight. It is in soho which is great but honestly the pushing really gets annoying my white jumper became very very stained.
