My last two visits were a little disappointing. Service wasn’t as pleasant. The air-conditioning was off(or not working), so air was kind of stuffy. The manager or owner(french lady) was crabby. As coincidence would have it both times the gentleman that owns(co-owns?) it was not there. Maybe I just came on off days? We’ll see.

I have been going to this place for a while and quality is in decline. Today I ordered the eggs Benedict and they came out raw inside. The orange juice was not fresh and the fries were too salty. I took 2 croissants to go, paid and left. I will not return. There is much much better for the price. Even though I couldn’t eat my dish, I was charged full price. I didn’t say anything but I will not recommend this place. Did I mention is stupid expensive for what they serve? Without the quality, it’s just not worth it.

I came here for brunch and had the eggs benedict. It was just okay. The dining area is cute and cozy. The service was good, it’s one small room so the waiters can see you the whole time. Their lemonade tasted powdery/pre-made and was $ 4.50 for a tiny glass with no refills so I’d stick to water next time. Still searching for a phenomenal brunch spot in this ‘hood!

This place is great! Phenomenal service and excellent food. Everyone is very welcoming. I can’t wait to come back. I couldn’t give it a full 5 stars because unfortunately they don’t have wifi and cash only for orders under $ 10 :( However, their chocolate croissant is the best!

Le Moulin was recommended to me by my friend for breakfast. It’s a super cute French café and the staff was nice. my food and coffee were great — I got an omelette with spinach, bacon and cheese and a large latte. The omelette came with a side salad with a nice light dressing on it. I’d recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Very cute place. The pastry case looks amazing. I was here for brunch, and they have your typical french dishes(croque madame/monsieur, salad nicoise, etc). It was good, but I’m guessing the real star is their pastries so I would definitely check those out.

Hoy lo visité con mi esposa y una amiga y nos pareció un sitio que posee el típico estilo francés al igual que su comida. Nos gusto bastante.

Brunch in New York isn’t hard to find, but on a Saturday or Sunday, you can almost be guaranteed a wait. However, my bf and I had good luck and went on a rainy Sunday while everyone else was snuggled up inside, meaning we were seated immediately. The whole interior is beautiful. I haven’t been to France, but the whole vibe makes me feel like I’m in a Parisian café — bookshelves with knick knacks and old books, flowers on every table, and a real fireplace! Speaking of the fireplace, we were seated directly next to it, and it got quite stuffy after a while(hence only 4 stars). I just ignored it though, since it was quite chilly outside and I’m sure I’d need the warmth. I ordered a coffee and the omelette(cheese, mushrooms, spinach, and bacon), and the bf ordered eggs benedict with orange juice. I may be biased since breakfast food is my favorite, but it was honestly my favorite meal in New York. The omelette was cooked to perfection AND it came with fries. My two favorite things: breakfast food and fries! People all around us were ordering a plethora of pastries that looked delicious, too. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re on the UES looking for a cute brunch place!

My boyfriend and I tried Le Moulin for Sunday brunch this weekend. We luckily grabbed the last open table before the rest of the brunch rush came through. The restaurant is small but very quaint. To start I had the french onion soup: cheesy, warm and good. My boyfriend and I shared the fresh fruit salad which was definitely not worth $ 9 for the small bowl you get of melons and sliced strawberry. My boyfriend, being the glutton that he is, went for two, yes two, entrees. The breakfast croissant sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese on it and an omelet with spinach, cheese, and ham. I went with an egg white omelet with bacon and cheese. The omelets are HUGE and come with a side of fries and a small side salad. To go, we tried the rose and lavender macaroons, which were wonderful. Good French café in the area with classic brunch options and big portions.

Small, bouchy, and cozy little French café, they have grab and go seating up front and waiter service in the back. If you’re lucky(which me and my man candy were) they’ll seat you by the(real!) fireplace. Walked right in for a table of two at around 11 on a Saturday morning, the brunch menu is pretty varied, salads, omlettes, French sandwhiches and quiche. I opted for one of the quiche of the day, really nice, not super cheesy and greasy which is the risk you take with quiche. Coffee was also strong and they give you a big mug for ~$ 3. The waiters were all super friendly and service was fast! Definitely a nice option for the area for a normal ~classy~ non drink your face off typical NYC brunch.

More like 3.5. Chocolate croissant was delicious. I just wish they offered to warm it because it was quite cold. Definitely get one though. The salad nicoise was a large portion. Big scoop of tuna. Nice, light dressing. Good salad, but nothing amazing. The Croque Madame was okay. Again, a big portion, but not amazing. Nice sunny side up egg on top. Good cheese crust. Café au lait and latte were nice. Pretty smooth. Food came out quickly, but it was also 3PM and they were not busy. The décor inside is quaint. Cute place to hang out and get coffee with friends. Service was shy, but friendly. ’

This place so legit, because you get greeted with Bonjour and can order/speak in French with any of the staff if you wish. They also take Euros and Canadian dollars. They serve La Colombe coffee as it is a Corsica blend. I don’t know what else they can do to welcome you to France. I like this place a lot more than Café Alsace as it has a quaint/cuter feeling. I think I have been here enough times to review but not nearly enough times to ever be sick of this place. Now in the mornings when I am here I always come early enough to avoid the crowd/lines and get the almond chocolate croissant as it is still always warm(I think they only have it certain days/run out later so you should get it here before 8 either way on weekdays). They have mini chocolate croissants! So you can get something else and not be guilty. $ 10 min on cards so bring cash if you’re here to grab and go. The lady at the counter even offered to let me come back and pay. how utterly sweet of her. Thankfully I had some cash. I have also tried the ispahan which imo is much better than La Duree’s. I have yet to try the macarons so can’t comment yet. The canele, éclair and the Croque Monsieur were all also good, but not what I would come back for. By the time the weather gets warmer I will probably have tried everything on the menu. It helps that I am so close. If in the area, be sure to come check this place out.

My second trip to Le Moulin a Café was as fantastic as the first. The brunch menu is somewhat small, but there’s a good variety. The omelette was perfect(spinach, tomato, onion, bacon): fluffy enough, brown enough, fillings cooked just right. I don’t know why I thought the number of ingredients was so limited in my last review. Maybe because I ordered at the counter and may it wasn’t lunch time — don’t remember — but there is a decent selection. The accompanying salad’s baby greens were tender and dressed lightly with a yummy dressing that I can’t quite name — a tad vinegary, a tad creamy. It complemented the omelette nicely. I told them not to bring the fries that come with it, so I don’t know what they’re like. The café au lait is big(12 oz) and great. The fresh orange juice comes in a huge glass(probably also 12 oz) and tastes like it was just squeezed. Maybe it was. Between these two drinks and a glass of water, I was pretty full of liquid when I left! I’ve gone from five stars to four for four reasons: 1. The metal chairs are pretty uncomfortable — like sidewalk café chairs. Not intolerable, but not for well-suited for the ample butt. 2. The service when I first sat down was really fast and excellent. As the meal progressed, it slowed down, but in all fairness, I was one of the first people in and the place filled in a flash. I did have to wait too long, and finally had to signal, for my check. 3. The fireplace adds nice ambiance, but the table next to is it intolerably hot. The table next to that one is pretty warm, too. There’s probably no way to rearrange, but when they seat someone there, they should probably ask if they’re OK with being hot. A server did turn it off when requested. 4. The bakery was not as well-rounded as others in the general vicinity. There are many enticing items, but not a oh-my-god-I-can’t-choose selection. All that said, I’ll go out of my way to eat whenever I’m on the Upper East Side.

It’s such a cute store front and the service is wonderful, but the food is just bleh. I really wanted to be wowed by this place, but it just ended up being okay(& nothing really that special). The service was great, we were immediately waited to and even got a free refill on coffee(yes they do charge extra per cup – Boo) when they were late at bringing out a friend’s Eggs Benedict. Three of us ordered the EB and one ordered the Croque Madame(pictures attached). I felt like the Eggs Benedict was definitely bland – needed salt and a bit more seasoning in the hollandaise sauce. The Croque Madame seemed good, but was much different than expected. TL; DR: Overall, I feel like it was just okay – if you’re in the neighborhood pop in. If you’re looking to be blown away by Eggs Benedict, look somewhere else.

Cute French café ues with fantastic brunches, wonderful friendly service, great coffee and pastries and even a wall decorated with French goodies. Extremely friendly counter service; Francis in particular was wonderful … A great spot for meeting friends or have business meetings over coffee or lunch, with plenty of tables in the front — which is more of a café feel, or the back which has more of a restaurant feel. I’ve had the eggs Benedict for Sunday brunch and it was wonderful. Weekend brunch atmosphere is cozy with a fireplace in the back and lively with enough space that it didn’t feel too busy, loud or overcrowded.

I decided to bring my friend here in search of some delicious French brunch food, and Le Moulin a Café did not disappoint! The place itself reminded me of a charming bakery or café you would find in France. We even got lucky enough to sit by the fireplace on a cold morning. The place was bustling with 20-something women on group brunch dates. Regarding the food, I had the Croque-monsieur sandwich which was decent. The cheese was crispy and delicious. My friend also enjoyed her french pastry which is super popular. We decided to opt out of boozing considering the pricey mimosas. Glad I tried it out, but wouldn’t go out of my way to return. 3.5 stars.

I came here for brunch with my friend since she was hungry. There was nothing special about the menu. I got the croissant with eggs. It tasted fine. The food came out quick. They were also quick with the check. They gave it to us right after we were done eating even though we didn’t finish our drinks yet.

5 star for their ispahan and 2 stars for their breakfast. Had this place bookmarked for awhile now but didnt get a chance to visit due to the location until today, came at around 9:30am and was told brunch sit down service doesnt start until 10am. Apparently this created a lot of confusion for people as many people came in after us for brunch and was turned away. We ended up staying for the self serve breakfast instead, my hubby got the eggs benedict and I got the croque madame. I was not impress with the food at all, my croque madame was really really dry and the egg on top was overcooked to the max… My husband’s benedict was just ok as well… I got the ispahan(giant macaron with raspberry and lychee filling) and couple regular macarons to go. While their macarons are not bad, i prefer my macaron to be a little bit more chewy like pierre herme’s, but this is just personal preference. But man the ispahan was really really good, it instantly transported me back to paris. It has the perfect amount of raspberry, lychee and rose flavor and I really regret I only bought one!!! I will prob stop by for their pastry again and not sure if i should write off their food just yet, maybe this morning they just werent ready to cook yet?

Good: Tried the Giant raspberry macaroon with raspberry and lychee filling. This pastry seems to fly off the shelves pretty quickly. Being a lychee fan I enjoyed the juicy chunks of the fruit in the filling. This café is our family’s go to café in UES and the desserts and sweet treats have rarely disappointed me. Will try their croissants next Will I return: yes

This is hands down my new favorite brunch spot in the city. No Frills just the real deal. If you appreciate a well made(not well done) omelette that is still moist and oozes flavor go here !!! Also all omelettes are served with a solid side salad and some fries. You will also not regret adding a side of lamb sausage(even though it’s $ 9)

E-Scale: 9⁄10 Ok, so the brunch steak and eggs are amazing(as are the fries and pretty much all their pastries) but it gets 4 stars because they don’t make the beignets anymore. why??? bring them back please!!! They were the best things about this place(and why I went there every Saturday). This place is also cool because they sell all kinds of french product, clearly imported from Europe. Having never lived in France, I don’t believe I can fully appreciate this. However, from the number of Europeans that visit here, there are definitely people who do appreciate it. Fully.
