Pro: the item I bought is beautifully made and for the brand was very well priced Con: no mirrors in the dressing room forcing you to show a pushy staff member everything you try on, she waits for you outside of your room by the communal mirror and tells you everything looks great. After choosing one out of four things tried on she says«is that it???» as if you have wasted her time and only spending $ 200 means you must be a pauper. * side note manager or other sales person was conducting a very loud argument in the store with a woman who apparently cheated on him… Wish I could give 2.5 stars, again my new jacket is great but the general experience was awful.

Ooooohwheee Balenciaga pants for $ 75 – 100? D&G coats for under $ 300? Yeah, that’s a good deal. I tried a bunch of stuff, but nothing really fit, I blame those silly side pockets that are in fashion now, and soon as a new shipment is in, I’ll be back! Only downsides: tiny dark fitting room and having to dig for sizes. Sunglasses and bags and underwear an such are also to be found here, but not quite in the variety one usually requires.

My boyfriend and I visited NYC this weekend and purchased a Valentino men’s Overcoat, a Valentino shirt, a Italian wool men’s grey suit for him and a black Italian wool overcoat for me for a grand total fo $ 550! Wow! I agree with the other reviewers in the sense that the selection is kinda spotty /hit or miss but the merchandise that they carry — ranging from Prada coats, Valentino suits and mens coats, Balenciaga pants is definitely worth checking out. They also had Marc Jacobs sunglasses and a few other popular brands. The best part? Rocco(presumably the owner) did alterations for us on the coat and suit right there — and we were able to leave with our complete purchases within an hour!

Kontainer has a so-so, random selection of men’s clothes(as well as women’s clothes – though I didn’t pay attention to those), from jeans to suits to overcoats, bags, and a couple pairs of shoes. The designers include CK and Ralph Lauren as well as some European labels. Prices were ok – Ralph Lauren wool coats for around $ 175 and dressy shirts for ~$ 50. Yes, the prices were discounted, but they were lowered from obscene heights. It’s hit or miss with the sizes. It will be interesting to see how this store develops.

I visited Kontainer for the second time recently, lured by the sale racks visible from Bleecker Street. I’d wandered in one other time but left confused. Turns out, this new place is some kind of permanent sample sale. I’m not really sure how that works, but I do know I scored two dresses and a cardigan(Ben Sherman) for about $ 90. The woman who helped me find these items(I am not an accomplished shopper) was sweet and non-pushy. The items in the store ranged from classy to trashy to weird to near-couture… well, in my mind. It is mostly women’s but I think they have stuff for the guys. They had impressive deals on shoes. We’ll see how this goes, Kontainer. You’ve got great potential.
