This is probably my new go-to karaōke in NYC. Private rooms are pretty reasonably priced($ 8 per person per hour) but beware of the drinks — super expensive. We ended up with a $ 160 bill with 3 people after 2.5 hours, but half of that was drinks. They have a good collection of Asian(mostly Korean) songs, and English as well. It’s a little confusing though, they have 1 system that has Asian + a few English songs and then a separate(less modern) English-only numbering system that corresponds to a separate book — the numbers you find in this one won’t work if you’re on the Asian + English system. If you want to switch systems you have to ask a server to do it for you. The English-only karaōke kind of sucks though, there’s no background music video and it’s just white text on a bright blue screen haha I think this is for normal white-people karaōke — it’s the system they use in the main bar area. I would recommend sticking to the Asian system if you can. there’s still a good selection of English songs & you’re able to search by artist/song name using the remote. This remote is all in Korean though, so if you can’t read Korean, ask a server to explain how to use the remote — there’s really only like 5 buttons you need to know. The sound system is good, the microphones didn’t malfunction at all(ahem looking at you Maru…), and you can change the pitch of the song to match your range.

Worst karaōke place in the neighborhood. Microphones died 5 times in an hour. People who work there are unfriendly and snotty.

St Marks Karaōke NY Manhattan St Marks 11pm Thursday 25th February 2016 Four Stars We opted for the Party Package #3: $ 22/person unlimited 1 hour of karaōke and an unlimited pitcher of beer. The place was not very sound proof. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was nice but strict. If you haven’t Asian karaōke you should definitely try out the private room style of karaōke.

Just stopped in for less than 30 minutes to wish a friend a happy birthday and they charged me a $ 30 cover just to be in the private room with my friend. I didn’t drink, I didn’t sing a song, just wished my friend a happy birthday and spoke with her for less than 30 minutes. I was shocked when they asked me to pay $ 30 before I could leave. Crazy.

They do not have the latest songs if you were looking into that. Also their song list is poorly organized. Our remote control jammed and it took the staff a while to come and fix the problem. It was my birthday and I did not want to be bothered. Just go to sing sing across the street which is what I did for my birthday outing.

Love this place, staff is very nice, great atmosphere, private rooms are great and lounge area also gathers a great crowed. It’s one of my favorite places.

Just went there for my sisters birthday celebration. About 35 people attended the room was spacious however there was no AC. They did not have these things checked for several days earlier when we came to make the deposit and see the room. In addition, they had a elevator that did not take you all the way up. The elevator only takes you to the main floor and afterwards you had to walk up several flights of stairs before reaching our hot room. Accommodations of Private events are always a plus but it’s going to take more than that to bring their rating up…

I had so much fun here! This seems like an authentic Korean karaōke experience(but it was my first time singing karaōke in a private room). At $ 8/hr, it didn’t seem too pricey. My only complaint is how cold the room was even after the AC was turned off.

Fun place that was super cheap. $ 10 per hour. They had a pretty nice selection of songs as well — a lot of classics and well as new ones. We didn’t reserve anything and were able to get a private room immediately. Facilities were alright — could be a bit cleaner, but I didn’t mind.

Okay, since when do you have to PAYPERSONG to sing karaōke? I know I’m a terrible singer — and should have to compensate the crowd for listening — but don’t see why I have to pay the bar for drinks AND my voice. In any case, it’s $ 2/song in the MAINROOM — and apparently the private rooms can get realllyyyy pricey. The upside to this place is that on a Saturday night, it was pretty empty — meaning that the main room was even sort of «private.» This translated to it being fast — from signup to singing took only a few mins. Plus everyone that was there was pretty nice — cheering for even those that weren’t superstars. AND, compared to the place across the street, which barely had room to move(let alone get drinks), a ridiculous wait to sing(literally 2 hours!), and no stage to speak of(the current singer walks around with a mic), this place was GREAT.

The deal for a private room seems great. It’s $ 10pp per hour if you want to BYO. The room was a nice size and there was a large selection of music. Here’s the major issue — when it came time to pay the bill they had a very strange way of calculating the cost. We were told well you had 15 people for forty minutes, then four left, x more came, and so on. These calculations seemed way off. For two hours the bill was $ 380. However, for one of those two hours, we had max 12 people. According to the cashier, three of our credit cards were declined. There is nothing wrong with any of these credit cards; it was simply a way for them to get paid in cash. Scam.

At first I wasn’t sure — some of the songs are«versions» not originals(at least the first few I picked). They had rooms available when other places did not, on a Sunday night. We walk in and there were about a dozen drunkards blasting out songs and not sounding great. It is a Korean owned«K-box» and the staff ran a pretty efficient spot. But, we stayed and were glad we did. We opted to skip the room and sing in the«living room» and had a blast. Lots of songs(I paid $ 2 per song) and never had to wait more than 2 – 3 songs to be up next. The crowd is super social — great place to make new friends, get hammered, and sing some fun songs in a nonjudgmental environment. Also, somehow just when you didn’t think you’d get the microphone in time to sing, the staff was handing it over right on time. And — they keep tight control of the microphones, which I appreciated. It would be nice if they made the song slips more available but that was minor.

Came here with a group of 7 after going. The Barcade next door. The staff got us into a room a few minutes after walking in at 11 pm on a Saturday. The room which they said was small, but perfect for our group and we even could a fit 2 or 3 more people. It was cozy. The books to pick out the songs are old, but you can get a current list on your phone which was awesome! When we first went got there, the guy said it was $ 8/person per hour. The sign at the register says $ 16/person includes one drink. The room ended up being $ 16/person even though two of us didn’t get drinks. All in all, it was a cool place for karaōke! We had a great time.

Pretty cool place! You can rent a private room for your group. They say capacity is 20 people but we were able to fit over 30. There’s a book with thousands of song selections in all different languages — very impressive. They lose a star because the bar area was downstairs … and it was a strange setup. It was kind of a mission to get a drink.

Came here for the first time this past Friday. The staff was kind, attentive, and accommodating. My group was immediately placed in a private room without a reservation, at 8:30 on a Friday night! Also, they had a very broad song selection to offer. Head’s up: As it is typically with karaōke places, the drinks were pricey and on the weak side… so, don’t count on the bar here. Pregame elsewhere. I would recommend downing some 5 for $ 10 shots at Continental(right across the street) first, and then belting out some karaōke.

Friends and I had just had dessert on the same street and were looking for something to do for the rest of the night. This karaōke place was the highest rated on Unilocal in the nearby vicinity so we decided to check it out. One frustrating thing is that if you want to consume drinks, you have to stay at the bar and can’t order them for the room… that was disappointing. Otherwise, they have a really wild selection of English and Chinese songs. The system for song selection isn’t super high tech but does its job. I think my biggest issue with the experience is that the hosts are over… concerned? I would say that we were there for 2 hours and someone checked in on us every ten minutes. It was nice that they were concerned about meeting our needs, but I think it was overkill to check in on us that often since I felt like we didn’t have any privacy as a group. tldr; good karaōke place, not too expensive! $ 10/hour/person

Decent song selection and prices for karaōke but not the best karaōke around. My friends and I came here on a Friday night around 3AM. They’re open until 6am on Fridays. Unfortunately, the bar area karaōke wasn’t open so we got put into a room on the 4th floor. The room was pretty big with two screens and large, comfy couches. It was clean and nice. We got two wireless microphones and two song books. Throughout the night, we were brought water while we sang. As I sobered up, I noticed that the song books smelled awful! And they were sorta sticky. They have these flashy lights and disco type things that make you wana seizure. Also in every room is a little clal button that gets a waiter to come in for drinks, technical issues, and such. There’s a balcony on the main floor of hte karaōke bar where you can step outside for fresh air(or smoke). They ID you before you come in at the elevators downstairs. All in all, a decent karaōke bar but certainly not the best. Could be worse — could be better!

In a nutshell: Karaōke with decent song variety. So after going to a couple Korean karaōke spots in LA, I’ve started to notice the differences in karaōke spots in general. Some places are bring your own booze, some won’t let you bring mixers then hike up the prices of sodas and juices, and some places won’t let you bring alcohol in and sell it to you. Other karaōke places offer decent food menus of mostly Korean cuisine and appetizers. Parking 2⁄5 St. Mark’s Place is very busy at night. Good luck finding parking. Take a train and walk over. Ambience 3⁄5 Standard karaōke rooms, with the occasional server popping his head in to suggest you buy something. Menus are posted by the door to your room. Service 3⁄5 Servers pop their heads in occasionally, but there is also a call button by the door. Price 2⁄5 We paid WAY too much for a couple bottles of Andre, which we could have gotten for real cheap at a Duane Reade somewhere. Song Selection 3⁄5 OK. We noticed a lot of our favorite R&B tunes weren’t on there. Sad. Overall 3⁄5 Decent experience. I would have really enjoyed not gonna F-ed in the A for two bottles of cheap champagne, but shame on us for ordering them.
