Had a company party here. the restaurant was entirely reserved for us. Foods were decent, staffs were pretty attentive when we ran out of drinks(open bar night).

My company came here for a group dinner(22 of us-ish) on a Tuesday night around 630pm. We reserved the back, private room — when we first walked in, the bar area was super open and very pretty/romantic looking. There were quite a few people there(most chairs were taken and some were standing in the bar area). Our private room was arranged with several long tables and benches — seating about 6 per table. We had a welcome«cocktail hour» with a few bottles of wine — each table had a bottle of sake on it — nice touch. Although, there were only 3 sake cups at each table of 6 — not sure if sharing is encouraged? We sat down for a two course menu arranged by our team — before the appetizer, a little green salad arrived. It had onions on it(I could smell them from the other side of the room) — so be careful if youre on a date and eat this. An appetizer and an entrée were included in the experience. Most of us opted for the tuna sashimi — to be honest, it was the dish most recommended by our waiter and a bit underwhelming. It came with a bananaleaf«hand roll» of salted watermelon alongside a spicy-mayo drenched cubed tuna and pineapple(?) mixture… served on top of more spicy mayo and two small store-bought rice crackers. If you love spicy mayo, this is your jive. Our entrée choices ranged greatly — most popular was the steak option, which people raved about. Someone ordered the braised beef dish and it looked great as well. I opted for the vegetable curry, which came with some seitan, tofu, and assorted veggies — the pumpkin, sweet potato, carrot mixture felt a little redundant(and orange), but everything was delicious and I barely got through half of it before I tapped out. Luckily, our team had a few drinks during the meal and quickly assembled a Karaōke list — before we were even done with dinner, we had two flat screens thrusting lyrics towards a gyrating manager with a microphone. The bathrooms were very close to our private room and were very clean — the service was great(although a bit slow — but c’mon, we were a rambunctious party of 20! I actually give them points for slowing down on drink delivery…) — overall a fantastic experience and great bonding opportunity for us!

There are certain things that get me off: 1. Cheap, tasty food 2. Cheap, tasty drinks 3. Karaōke 4. People dressed up in banana costumes Apple Restaurant and Bombar only has three of them, but it’s still pretty cool. I don’t even know what Bombar means, but this place pulled everything off well enough that I didn’t care. The place itself is dressed up in «modern Asian Fusion» décor. You know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s nice, if typical. The karaōke room, however, is huge, outlined with plush couches with plenty of tables, and a sound system that works really well whether you’re crooning or screaming. The latter didn’t even cause any feedback. Nice! Anyway, we had ordered an entire spread for my friend’s birthday, and that included bao buns, fresh spring rolls, tempura battered vegetable fritters, wings, dumplings, and tortillas with sour cream, guac, and salsa for some reason. Everything was worth getting again, which we did. Then I perused the menu to look for something to wash it all down with. Cold, dry sake. In roughly 10 oz bottles. For ten dollars. I’ll take three. So will my friend. And his friend. Don’t ask about the ordeal I had to go through when I got home that night. Because it’s probably pretty obvious after all that sake and something like, four beers. Plus all the stuff I drank before I got to the place. Yeesh. I might have a problem. 8/10, would do again. With less sake.

Been here a good handful of times and I’ll tell you why, once you’re seated at the table or bar, you get a feeling that it’s a very relaxing place to be. The staff are very professional & knowledgeable. As in for the food, I haven’t been disappointed. You get the right amount of portion that

This is for the lounge and bar area. I haven’t eaten there, yet. I came here on a couple of dates. I really enjoy the atmosphere. It is dimply lit and there are comfy couches around. The bar is nice and the drinks are good. I would definitely recommend this place is you are looking for a low key, romantic night with your person.

Went for«one» drink during happy hour and ended up staying for seven. Apple has such a large space. They try to separate the dining area from the lounge, which is where we sat. Our server was very attentive and was always there to ask if we wanted another drink. We had the pork dumplings and the vegetable rolls. They were both really good, but the dumplings were spectacular. Also, their restrooms are the cleanest I’ve seen in the area.

Food was good. I give that a 4 star. The serves was good at beginning and then completely dropped off. It was the first time I didn’t leave a tip in my life. I had to ask for more water and then I had to go to the bartender to run my credit card because I was tired of waiting. I was very close to just walking out without paying and we could of done it with no problem… but like I said the food was good so I at least wanted to pay the chef…

I really enjoy apple, and wonder why we don’t come here more frequently! It’s a really perfect stop to stop by for a happy hour drink, as long as you don’t mind that there may not be anyone else there. The bartenders are really great, and I find the interior to be beautiful and relaxing. I’ve never come for dinner, but it’s great if you want to find something low-key in the area. Great juxtaposition to Josie woods, next door, and potentially to whatever takes over for M&Gs.

Dimly lit, very romantic aura in this place. Could set the wrong mood if you come here with the opposite sex and are«just friends.» I give their Tequila Sunrise 5 stars! We ordered 4 appetizers only: 1) Panko Crab Cake: 5 stars(Crispy outside, soft melt in your mouth inside) 2) Seafood Wonton: 4 stars(Good but not great. Needed a better dippling sauce) 3) Steamed Vegetable dumplings: 3 stars(It didn’t come with any type sauce and it definietly need some) 4) Beef Spring Roll: 1 star.(Very bland. The dipping sauce it came with made it edible.) Staff was nice.

Love this place. Not too busy at lunch time. I gather it is much more crowded at night. This review is for lunch only. Good ambiance and a slightly whimsical décor. The staff is very friendly. The food is great. They have these great little bento boxes on the back of the menu. Yep, I always forget these are hidden there till after the waiter takes my order. The Bento lunch boxes come with a main entrée, rice or noodles, salad and fruit for dessert for only $ 12. Great lunch spot.

This is one off my favorite places to eat in the city and I love the ambiance, perfect place for date night or a first date. The food is excellent and the service is spot on, I’ve eating here a few times and loved every moment of it, plus my wife love it there:)

Pretty much what the Unilocal rating says: Apple was A-OK. The food was decent and since we came during lunch, we were able to get the $ 12 lunch boxes that come with salad, rice, a meat option and a fruit salad. The appetizers are a bit on the expensive side and they’re pretty small. I’ve eaten here before for dinner and the entrees are a bit expensive too. A bowl of Phở costs $ 13! But if you’re in the area, don’t want to travel too far, and don’t want Subway, this is a pretty good solution.

I ate at this restaurant as a backup since it was an easy commute, and while I appreciated the fact the place was spacious enough to accommodate a large group and reservations are available well into Friday, the food and service were mediocre. When we sat down at our table, we were constantly being asked to please«wait a few minutes» for someone to take our order, even though the restaurant was far from booked. After at least 30 minutes before someone finally came to our table, she was aloof, and uninterested in providing more information about dishes when asked. Our food came and my daiquiri was diluted, the portions were terribly small for what they are worth, served in oversized plates that tried to make up for its content. The beef was tough and dry and the curry was decent. I don’t know if this is the usual way of doing things in this restaurant, but when we were finished, and sorting out the payment for the food, the waitress took the unnecessary effort to wipe the tables while we were still seated. Taking our plates is fine, but wiping our tables like they were ushering us out — I have never experienced that before, even when eating dimsum or underground spots in Chinatown. We had to leave and have an after-dinner because it was ridiculous to stay there any longer.

Nice bar if you’re looking to impress. The tuna spring roll was tasty. I thought it was average for a seared tuna Vietnamese-style roll, but my boyfriend really enjoyed it. The lychee martini was tasty, too. Good service, and a chill environment for Friday night.(I think we might have gone right before the crazy party crowd?)

Had a fantabulous time here last night with a large mingling group in the bar area. The environment is lovely and deceptively casual in the best way– red hues, various levels for sitting, leaning, standing, or whatever– the bar itself wraps and curves providing various chatting spaces and easy escape(versus the square or rectangle that can block up conversational flow) — best of all my tab was way less than I anticipated. They are generous with buy backs and garner healthy tips. Will definitely go back. The karaōke and dining options look fun too.

What an odd and out of place restaurant to find in Manhattan… especially in this area. Is it a lounge? Is it a restaurant? Is it a karaōke bar? It’s all of the above… but falls short on its delivery. The absurdly large dining room is poorly lit and uncomfortable to be in. It’s good for groups, but it’s anything but intimate and there’s nothing aesthetically pleasing about it. The service is slow and spotty. While our multiple servers were nice(if not a little passive aggressive), they were very slow, forgot orders, brought us wrong things and hard to track down. The place wasn’t busy at all. Maybe 20 people dining on a Saturday night around 8:00PM. Being busy wasn’t really the problem. The food was ok at best… I’ve had much better, for far less money and in a better venue. The menu is kind of Asian Bistro but the execution comes across bland and more presentational than substantive. The drinks were weak and overpriced… the bar has no place being in operation at Manhattan restaurant. I certainly didn’t hate my time here… but I most definitely won’t be back. They added auto gratuity of 18% to our bill(for only 4 people) and we came in at over $ 225 for 4. Not my idea of money or time well spent.

This place was just good enough: the food was Asian enough, the décor was nice enough, the prices were okay – my friend paid for me anyway – and the service was prompt and efficient. That said, my dish was bland and the only sauce they offered on the side was this salty soy-type sauce. My friend’s curry was a little too hot for him because he’d ordered it that way; still, I wished I’d gotten that. We shared an appetizer of four dumplings, which truthfully wasn’t enough – no matter how good they were. Are menus in Asia as meat-heavy as they are here? I rather doubt it; most restaurants of this genre – in this country – load the menu with meat dishes so the patrons will fill up and keep coming back. There was a veg section with about five dishes; fortunately, five dishes are usually enough to choose from. Because of the location of this place, all I could think was, «NYU, NYU, NYU.» I know Apple has been here well over 10 years, but I can imagine NYU is poised to turn the space into a lecture hall or dorm.

As I enter the restaurant and whoa… I just though this place is really NICE! Very spacious, dim, awesome Asian décor in the lounge. My friend and I sat in the lounge area while we wait for our friend to arrive and the staff were very attentive. Once our friend arrived and we were seated in the main dining area. The table are squared but the staff opened all four sides and it became a round table, talk about Asian! The tables are also circular, which I thought was genius. We had: Appetizer 1. Chicken wings — Nothing special like any other place. 2. Calamari — Dipping sauce was different, it was sweet and sour, not bad. Entrée 3. Seasonal special: Snapper fish mango salad — Very good, very unique, tasted perfect with the mango, and great preparation. 4. Seasonal special: Beef — This was my favorite!!! The rice was so good, sweet and yet salty and with the beef, a very flavorful sauce and it was just perfect. 5. Vietnamese duck — Good, but I still prefer Peking duck, very moist. Dessert 6. Cappuccino mousse cake — I loved this! Very light not too sweet. 7. Raspberry blackout — Very sweet, very chocolatey. 8. Fried banana flambé — Soo unique and super cool! Sets on fire to crisp the bananas, with tapioca, you must order this if you want to impress someone. I had the Framboise beer, a very good beer, must try! It comes with a cute glass you can pour it in. We had such a great time here, the atmosphere is great, food is great, the staff is super attentive, very interesting décor, spacey lounge area, I love the dining area. Highly recommended! I saw that they also have a karaōke room, which mean you can throw a party in there.

This place is definitely perfect for large groups! I came here with around 20 of my sorority sisters to give our other sister a surprise farewell luncheon. We went at the perfect time because the place was practically empty on a Saturday afternoon, possibly due to the recent snow storm! Anyhow, I liked the food, service, and atmoshere. I ordered the *Spicy Eggplant & Tofu*(a famous traditional chinese dish. sautéed with spicy chili peppers & garlic sauce. served with brown rice) and I enjoyed it a lot because I love to eat EGGPLANT! The only thing it lacked was the spiciness; it was a bit too mild. The appetizers — Sweet Potato Skins & Spicy BBQ Chicken Skewers & Vietnamese Fried Calamari — were pretty good too. All of the dishes were nicely presented. Trust me, the presentation of the food do matter. This place is also good for those who enjoy singing Karaōke because there is a big room in the back. Also, there is a bar for those who enjoy drinkin’ and relaxin’! Hopefully, my dear friend enjoyed this surprise luncheon as much as I did =)
