Just Salad is no frills, straight forward. I prefer them to chopp’t though. I find that on average they are more organized and the customer service experience overall is more pleasant at Just Salad. I also think their salad dressings are tastier than chopp’t. I noticed a few people complain about the price but in Financial District you are looking at $ 6 – 7 at the cheapest Deli vs $ 9 – 11 at Just Salad. I personally don’t mind paying a few bucks more for fresher, higher quality ingredients. I like that if you take advantage of the re-usable bowl option you get free salad toppings so to me the value is decent when using the re-usable bowl. This location of Just Salad has become a go-to lunch spot for me. Would recommend.

This Just Salad location is the best one I’ve been to. The line is managed well and the people who work there are all extremely friendly. Always happy when Kevin is chopping for me. Nicest guy, funny, fast. In what could easily feel like being on a salad conveyer belt he makes it personal every time. Good dude.

They put soooooo much balsamic vinegar and oil into my salad — it was overly dressed. Ingredients were great — olives, sundried tomatoes, cheese all were fresh and tasty! Price was okay for the portion of salad and quality.

Totally different vibe at dinner times. No acknowledgement at the door. Portion size is smaller. Payment counter was empty and nobody looked at us when we were trying to pay so we grabbed a table and sat down. Then someone immediately called out my name as if I tried to avoid payment. When we went back to the checkout counter the red-haired girl said«it’s ok» although we never apologized in the first place. The fall farro bowl is mostly unchopped but the chopper didn’t realize i added beets so I ended up with a huge chunk of it. There was also a cluster of farro kernels just sticking together. Kale pesto tasted like pure oil since he didn’t shake the bottle. Bread probably sat out for hours because it was drier and wayyyyy more stale than what I remember(no disrespect to granddaisy bakery.!). In the end at 8:30 the red haired girl said«We’re locking the doors. You actually have to leave. You cannot stay here. Sorry» while pointing at the door. Ridic. I’m gonna need the new fresh&co to open up real soon.

Great location! It gets super busy at lunch(of course) but they get you in and out with lightening speed. Plus, the food is always tasty, fresh and abundant. And the menu changes just enough to offer variety without missing your regular faves. Shout out to trainee, Steven, who was friendly and fast while getting my early lunch today!

So many salad options in FiDi, no reason to come here, especially when their delivery people don’t carry ID. Happened to me on more than one occasion(*le sigh* yes I kept giving them chances) where I ordered delivery aka food-delivered-to-your-door and I had to go down to the lobby, of a commercial building, on Wall Street, at lunch time, to get my food. This last time was the last straw as the deliveryman expected me to come outside the building while he sat contently on his bike, to retrieve my food. I should have thrown the salad at him. A call to the location to speak with the manager resulted in an excuse that he must be new. Never again!

A reasonable, healthy lunch option in the Financial District area. Just Salad, is more than just salad. You can build your own or customize any of their salad options, and even turn your salad into a wrap for a few bucks! The line gets pretty long during lunch time, and you will feel rushed, but it doesn’t take too long to get your order chopped, tossed, and ready to go. All salads come with bread, and some options are extra — but if you buy one of their reusable bowls, you get 2 regular toppings, or 1 cheese for free! Great place to go for a healthy lunch!

Overpriced salad and I said a little dressing but they drenched it after I said it was enough so I had a soggy bowl after that. ALLERGIES: They DO take this Into account and if you say you have an allergy like to nuts or gluten or something, you get your salad prepared on an entirely separate board which is wiped clean and sanitized each time so that’s great. I’ll probably come back and give this place another try eventually. UPDATE: good place. Worth the money. Salad shouldn’t be super cheap anyways.

The world’s most expensive salad! As an everyday salad eater in the neighborhood I tried this place after working across the street and never noticing it was there(no noticeable sign outside). I built my own salad using my usual ingredients I get for $ 8 or $ 9 everywhere else in the neighborhood. It’s confusing as hell inside and there’s no info about how much you’re being charged for your toppings. After dealing with all that I went to pay and it was ALMOST $ 16!!! $ 16FOR A SALAD!!! That I could’ve gotten anywhere else in Manhattan for $ 9 tops. And it wasn’t even good. It was all greens and not enough toppings. I couldn’t even taste the dressing. If you’re a Wall Street guy making thousands of dollars a day I guess this is no big deal for you. If you’re a normal person just go to one of the many other places in the neighborhood. Nobody needs to take out a loan from the bank just to get lunch. Shame on you ‘Just Salad’! ‘Just Ripping People Off’.

Best salad place in the city. Freshest ingredients and most pleasant service of all the city’s salad stops. Also, this location is great due to it’s manager, Seth. Great guy who looks our for customers & makes sure his staff is providing great customer service.

I am a fan of Just Salad. The salad ordered recently was super fresh and really delicious. It had crisp lettuce, feta cheese, tandoori chicken, cucumber yogurt dressing, and probably other stuff as well. Everything in it complemented the other stuff perfectly and as a bonus, it was fairly healthy and quite filling. I will definitely be back to try more stuff. If you get one of their reusable bowls($ 1), you get free toppings which is a nice plus and they also accept Level Up($ 3 off your first visit and probably more rewards if you spend a certain amount). This is a great healthy option for lunch and dinner, and although there is sometimes a line, it moves quickly.

{3.5ish} Last time I went to a Just Salad I didn’t have a great experience. Granted, that location had just opened up and I’m sure there were kinks to work out… but I just didn’t love my salad. Fast forward a couple years and here I am trying it again, just in a different location. I stopped by yesterday just before 2 expecting a long line and found everybody to be moving quickly and smoothly. This place is realllly efficient! There are essentially 5 different parts to the ordering process. Don’t get freaked out — it’s actually really easy. 1) To start off a Just Salad staffer(let’s call them JSS from here on out?) takes your order before you even get to the counter and includes your name on the ticket(this is a big deal). 2) JSS #2 calls out your name to confirm that staffer #1 got your order correct and then proceeds to fill up the bowl with ingredients, he/she places the bowl on the back counter. 3) JSS #3 then calls out your name(better pay attention) and tells you which ‘station’ you’re salad is being moved to. 4) Let the chopping begin! JSS #4 will chop up your lettuce as much or as little as you’d like. 5) JSS #5 takes your ticket and salad bowl(or wrap) and the checkout process begins. See, easy! A few things to note — The Chicken Caesar is a quality salad. I swapped out regular chicken for buffalo and it kicked it up a notch. The shaved parmesan was great too. Extra toppings are 59cents extra, but so is a small container of ‘extra dressing’. If you want it on the side — no problem. But if you want a splash in the bowl and then a splash on the side then expect to pay a little extra. I know I’m nit-picking here and its only 59cents but it’s annoying. Especially when I didn’t even love the dressing. The Caesar dressing was unusually thick and goopy. Once tossed into the salad it was just fine but in all my years of Caesar salads I’ve never seen a dressing quite like this. Bah. I didn’t love it, luckily they have like 15 others to try. The rosemary bread slice they give you with a salad is nothing to get excited about. Mine had some nice rosemary flavor but was hard. If you know you’re going to be a regular at Just Salad then you should definitely look into picking up a re-usable bowl for $ 1. Apparently if you buy one and then bring it back you can get two free bonus toppings from the essentials list(ie. cucumbers, black beans, hardboiled egg, almonds, etc. etc. The essentials list is actually quite extensive). And lastly — I’ve got to tell all you Unilocalers out there, that I really appreciated that Just Salad used my name. The chopper asked«what kind of dressing today, Alyssa?» And the cashier said«Have a great afternoon, Alyssa.» It keeps things organized and is just really nice and will be one thing that gets me back in the door at some point in the near future

Strawberry banana smoothie was pretty good. Got a chicken Caesar wrap that had too much dressing on it. Overall a decent experience. Decently long lines at lunch but it moves fairly quickly.

TheReverend57 is proud to announce that this spring will be a season of salads. After a winter hibernating amongst the presence of foie gras, crepes, and home distilled whiskey it is now time to devout myself to a healthier lifestyle. For the next few reviews I will be surveying the modern creation known to all active New Yorkers as the chopped salad. My first adventure is into the minimalist titled«Just Salad.» From the moment I stepped into this local chain I felt uneasy. Greeted by a short gentleman, I was taken back by his smile and kindness. Upon reaching the lettuce-counter I was forced to make a split decision between the many options of lettuces this establishment has. My initial thought was to tango with the mesclun bland, a dark and leafy mixture with many healthy benefits. Instead, I opted for a kale base, a modern strand of lettuce that is trending with the youngsters like communism in the ‘60s. The rest of the experience was traumatizing as I was shuffled around from a topping station, to a man with a large machete used to chop my salad, through a list of thirty dressings, and finally to the cashier. After forking over more money than the GDP of Tanzania for my salad, I found a table in the back right corner to monitor the environment. Within five minutes a group of suits from the surrounding financial district took their seats right in front of my gaze. As they discussed profit margins and interest rates my blood pressure began to boil and I could no longer enjoy my lovely vegetable medley. Shortly into their lunch a member of their group stood up and passed by my table and said, «Something smells like old cheese.» I immediately arose to my feet and got in this man’s face. How dare he criticize The Reverend in a public place. «Just because of some us bathe in recycled water and use baking soda on our sweat glands does not mean you can pass judgment. California is in a drought! And I will not stand for your corporate greed!» I screamed at the top of my lungs. My prey quickly scampered away and soon I was the only one left eating in Just Salad. Employees were giving me funny looks and the man with the machete was frozen in distress. Whether it is better to be feared than loved, thou shall never know. Your Fierce Critic, TheReverend57 Just Salad Rating: 2⁄5 — A delightful salad destroyed by the patrons of Fi-Di.

Finally, I was able to grab lunch here considering I work a block away. They are well known for their salad in FIDI and you can tell by the length of the line during lunch. They are located by the Dunkin Donuts on broad street and can be easily missed if you don’t pay attention to the sign. However, the inside is quite big with enough seatings and its relatively on the hip side. I’m now a loyal and dedicated buffalo salad eater. They are quite affordable for the location and their salad is filling for sure.

I always think long and hard before giving 2 stars because it seems like such a low rating, but to be quite frank– Just Salad is Just Meh. I’ve experienced way better salad spots for lunch(Sweetgreen and Chop’t), both of which are just a few blocks away. Points given for the very clean(and new) location as well as the friendly and helpful staff; however, points taketh away for the lack of a wide array of flavorful ingredients and dressings. I chose to build my own salad which is what I always do when im deciding to spend around $ 10 on lunch. Custom salads and wraps include a choice of a green and 4 «Essentials». Chicken, Shrimp, Steak, Cheese, and«Premium» additions all cost more money. Compared to the usual custom crafts I create every week at other salad places, this was pretty disappointing. My salad was made of Kale, broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, jalapenos, roasted tomatoes(premium) and Tandoori Red Hot Chicken. The Roasted Tomatoes and Tandoori Chicken cost more to add, and were both very bland. The Chicken is supposed to be spicy, but it actually didn’t have the least bit of heat. The Original dressings all sound exotic and awesome, but they are just weak. I tried the Smokey Poblano Ranch and the Chipotle Vinaigrette-both were meh; they just didn’t really have the kick advertised in the name. The bread that came with was not yum. Hard and difficult to rip, the bread resembled the staleness of Communion bread. Aside from the bowl of disappoint, I did notice that they have a Smoothie Bar. Maybe its better than the salad section?

I finally had a chance to pop in here(I work literally right here so I don’t know what took me so long) and was not disappointed. This location is a million times better than the Maiden Lane location that those of us that are FiDi-based had to struggle with prior to this location finally opening. The inside is clean to almost the point of being sterile. The manager was walking around and wished me happy holidays as I was leaving. The staff puts a lot of pride into their work and do not chop, add dressing, etc. until they get the okay from you first. Overall, this is a great location and since I love salad, I look forward to visiting it a lot more often.
