I would give ZERO stars if possible. I ordered a grilled chicken salad online, got only 4 small microscopic pieces of chicken in my basically overpriced bowl of spinach. Maybe the other locations are better but this one was a rip off.

Great salads and very friendly staff! But the smell is really hard to bear. It smells like salad(which is fine) but with a massive undertone of bleach. If they got rid of that weird odor I’d give them a 5!

Sloppy service and stale food. I keep trying to like this place because I am looking for a «go to» salad place in the neighborhood, but this is definitely not it.

The salads themselves are pretty good. And there are plenty of options to choose from, from preset combinations to make your own. You can choose the salads chopped or whole, decide which dressing goes on there, and there is an assortment of decent ingredients to mix in there. It’s definitely fresh, and(usually) fast. Sometimes it takes a while for your salad to be ready, especially if the person ahead of you orders 4 salads to go. In any case, this place is a take out place. You can eat in, but the fluorescent or LED lights are a bit white and harsh. Plenty of space. The front end is a juicery, so if you want to combine your healthy meal with a healthy drink, I guess it’s right there! Pricing for a salad is generally around $ 10. Not bad!

Does anyone else think this place smells like garbage? I live very close and WANT to eat here, but every time I try, I can’t bear the sour, rancid stench. I really hope they can clean up their act here.

They just always find a way to mess up a salad — even if you order ones on their menu. Wrong ingredients, wrong dressings, pricing is never the same twice and horrible customer service. They never get back to you or promise refunds that they don’t deliver on. For my money — I’d rather pay more and walk further to Chop’t. Its too bad also because I work on the Upper East Side and there aren’t a ton of healthy lunch options. A good salad place would be awesome :(

Healthy lunch option around NYP but way too expensive. To order, you first choose a vegetable base, then four toppings and then a dressing. The toppings aren’t labeled though, making it hard to tell what some toppings are. I would say the service is ok. It wasn’t bad but I feel like they could be nicer. I got the kale with a hard boiled egg, cucumbers, buffalo chicken, avocado, and balsamic vinegar dressing. The kale was really dry! I had such a hard time swallowing it in the beginning! Even though the server chops the salad and mixes the ingredients for you, still mix everything adequately before eating to ensure that the kale isn’t too dry! After mixing, the kale became edible and actually tastes pretty good. I thought the toppings really mixed well together and everything was really tasty! This is definitely a healthy and tasty place to grab lunch around NYP but it is just way too expensive! My salad ended up costing $ 12+ which is ridiculous. I honestly don’t know if I’ll be back. The other food places around the area aren’t that good but having to fork over $ 12+ for a salad is just ridiculous ya know?

I can see why just salad has been getting a few bad reviews and i think the 3 star avg is more or less on the mark but I’m going to give this 4 because I’m going to literally just run in, get my salad and move on with the rest of my life. I’ve only been here once and even though it serves premium salads, it’s still just a take-out/lunch spot. In fact, I’m probably going to return pretty consistently given the fact that in the UES it has the biggest selection of salads. Price wise, I think it’s on par with the rest of the neighborhood, It’s probably cheaper since it’s a little healthier as well. The standard selection of salads are nice especially since I make bad salad decisions and I just want a tasty, healthy lunch without over doing it.

I’ve walked by here many times and never tried it out because my boyfriend is allergic to vegetables. So today, while he was at work, I decided to give it a go. I love it!!! They give you a LOT of salad and everything was fresh. I love that their meat/seafood is sustainable/antibiotic free. I particularly liked the custom salad option and price wasn’t too bad($ 11 total for mine). The salad is so big I ate it for lunch AND dinner. I’m not sure why all the bad reviews about service, I had no trouble with mine. Will be coming here often during the summer!

Saw a roach here! :( I love the people who work here. They do a great job, but this was a roach. I don’t want to get anybody in trouble, I just want management to start rolling our the heavy anti roach stuff! I mean I still ate my salad, and I’ll probably still eat there in the very near future, so let’s just take care of this roach problem… mmmkay?

The worst Just Salad I’ve been to. They messed up my order after I told the girl behind the counter — 3X! They never have the little pieces of bread either. They are unapologetic when you bring to their attention that they messed up the order! Everyone I went with didn’t get the order they asked for tonight!

is easily the worst online ordering service I’ve ever used*, so stick with Seamless if you can. I opted for their homegrown site because I had a freebie code to redeem and that was the only way to arrange the pickup. The wrong item was sent to the wrong location*, so I had to call to straighten things out, and the staff had to force the order in before it was actually confirmed. When I arrived, my order was ready, so I took a seat at one of the messy tables(given the lack of business on a weekend afternoon, you’d think one of the handful of staffers not doing anything would be able to wipe up a bit). The Jamaican Jammin’ Salad was really lackluster, with little kick and flavorless chicken shredded beyond recognition. To add insult to injury, about 2⁄3 through the salad, I encountered a fly in the salad(photo included), and brought it up to the manager, who was initially speechless and then offered a refund or replacement, so I went with a replacement of a warm rustic grain salad, which was neither warm nor properly cooked, with rock hard, nearly-shatter-your-teeth grains throughout — another huge miss. The manager also insisted I grab a drink from the fridge, which was nice, unfortunately the coke had been dropped at some point and the top was missshapen, so it was tossed. * 1. I had an AWFUL experience with Just Salad. I placed an order online and received a confirmation e-mail saying our food would be here in the next 45 – 60 minutes. I called the number on my e-mail at the 1 hour mark and was told that my local Just Salad location was closed(It was a Saturday) and another location was filling the order and we should have it in 10 minutes. I called again at the 90 minute mark and was told that they had no idea when our food was coming and that it was out for delivery. The woman on the food was extremely rude. Our food finally arrived after 2 hours. 2 hours for 2 salads. If I ordered them from NJ, it would have taken less than 2 hours. 2 words for Just Salad — Never. Again.

I like Just Salad(had it near me when I was in grad school, and was sad to leave when I switched jobs). Then this store opened up earlier this year and I was ecstatic. Since it is so close to work, I’ve been scores of times and I’ve come to the conclusion that the food and experience average out to 3 stars. Impressions: (-) very long lines during 12−2pm, especially with all the hospitals here. The line moves though, there’s no doubt about that. Hectic, loud, and the service is hit or miss. Some days the first person you encounter who collects your greens in a bowl, as well as the other ingredients you want, is very efficient and courteous. Other days, like today, they are like tortoises and it befuddles me why they are so slow when people behind me receive their salad ingredients together before I do. (-) I always make my own salad, and although the manager takes the order down on a piece of paper and circles 2 free toppings(if you bring your own bowl), one out of every two or three trips, someone will«warn» me that if I order more than 4 toppings, I have to pay. HELLO, CANYOUREADTHEPIECEOFPAPER before telling me this. You have my piece of paper. I KNOW I HAVE6TOPPINGS all together, I bought the reusable bowl… Today, after I said to the woman, I have 6 toppings, she said to me, Where is your reusable bowl? I pointed to my bag. GET out of here with your attitude. Don’t you think the manager who scribbled down my order checked that I have a reusable bowl? Hit or miss. Not to mention that if I’m going to pay nearly $ 10 for a salad, you should fill that up to the top of my bowl. Whenever I ate at the Just Salad down by NYU, the service there was excellent, efficient, and they didn’t skimp on greens. Sigh.

The salads are very good but the selections can be a little overwhelming, especially for the first time coming here. I love the fact that you can choose the type of salad such spinach, kale, etc. Your first 4 toppings are included in the base price. What one needs to be aware of is the cost of each extra topping, which I did not do… Needless to say and $ 16 and change later, I had a salad made to my specifications. I was a little shocked but I’m glad that it tasted good. I will return, however, I’ll be very mindful to keep my topping selections at a minimal!

I was highly skeptical of this whole salad thing. I have a big appetite and I am by no means a «salad guy». But I left surprisingly full and happy with my salad. I recommend ordering off the menu because the choices are overwhelming. After you place your order, the ingredients are placed in a bowl and passed to a «chopping station». The chopping and mixing ceremony reminded me of Cold Stone Creamery but it’s not totally pointless. I liked that they add as much dressing as I like to negate any health benefit my salad may have had. The quality of the ingredients was excellent. The greens were ultra fresh and the chicken was real white meat. I recommend the Thai Chicken Crunch salad(minus the celery) with the Spicy Thai Peanut dressing(wasn’t spicy but totally delicious).

…it’s growing on me. Pro Tip: Go after 1:30 p.m., as the lines thin out considerably by then. Pro Tip #2: «Make Your Own» salads still get a little pricey for me, but I’ve become a big fan of the salads off of their menu. The falafel salad as well as the chicken pesto are both pretty great and ring in at about $ 8 or $ 9 bucks. They’re both large enough and satisfying! I really enjoy the cabbage mixed in the falafel salad as well; it gives it a nice crunch and makes it even more filling.
