Baristas are pretty friendly, pastries are good, and the coffee’s pretty good too. Prices are pretty reasonable to me. The only thing is their chai lattes are different every time I order them, and I find it just doesn’t mesh well with my taste buds. I think I’ll just stick to the coffee and pastries in the future though.

Top notch customer service! I just randomly walked in to get some regular iced chai tea & my bf got the spiced chai with soy. Both taste really good! You taste the spice but not too strong which I like. The person behind the counter name Dex is very friendly & he chit chat with us for a little bit. He suggested some drinks that we might like & explained it to us. Theirs this one lady that walks in & I observed that the person behind the counter know her & what shes going to get coz shes a regular customer in that café. How nice is that! Taste & customer service is very important to me thats why I’m giving this café a 5 star. The interior of this café is cute with some books that displays inside. Looks like a mini library that adds beauty to it. The exterior is simple & has a few table setting which I like. Its good for summer time to chill while enjoying the drinks. Overall, its refreshing & great customer service!

The people here are so nice! Today their credit card machine was broken; normally store owners would just tell you where the nearby ATM is, but here, the store owner just says«don’t worry, just pay tomorrow!» How nice is that? They also remember their customers. I went in to buy a coffee yesterday and then again today, and today, I remembered to ask about the stamp card; they actually remembered me from yesterday and gave me not just the one star for today, but one more star from yesterday, and one more just because! The coffee is also amazing. They let you try samples of the different brews before you commit. I’ve tried the cookies and cream, and the chocolate hazelnut brews; so delicious! Also the medium size looks like a large, and only $ 3! Every day I have off, I will definitely be getting my caffeine fix from here.

My favorite coffee shop in the city. The staff here is awesome. They are half the reason I like this place so much. I come every morning and they are always fast and nice. Great iced coffee and mini bagel sandwiches. Try it!

The four stars goes for customer service. A coworker recommended this for their chai vanilla latte. The latte was rather good. The guys that work there are pleasant, funny and do appreciate your business. They have both savory and sweet snacks to accompany your cup of coffee/tea. The interior is clean, modern and small. Employee discount with your id.

Best neighborhood coffee shop. Cute interior with amazing pastries and coffee. The staff is super friendly and always very nice and welcoming. It’s my go to spot for coffee in the neighborhood.

This is a lovely café right by my office. I pop in almost every day to get an iced chai. It is so good — I would love to know what chai brand that they use. It is amazing. Their pastries are great too. I’ve had the coconut pineapple stick and a danish. The staff is friendly and recognizes most the regulars.

Great coffee that ISN’T Starbucks. Tiny local place. Makes awesome coffee. Reasonable prices. Small selection of muffins, pastries bagels. Bring your business to the small local guy, and help the local economy.

Normally I really enjoy this place. The baristas are fun and friendly. The other day the one barista was singing a song and he couldn’t figure it out so I googled the lyrics a we had a fun moment. Today, I’m sitting outside mourning that I couldn’t get their good coffee because I had my dog with me. I then saw a guy with a dog go inside place an order then wait outside for the guy to bring him the coffee. He received his coffee and was on his way. I then asked the barista if he could do the same for me and he gave me such attitude as if it was criminal for me to even ask after just witnessing, what I though was a nice gesture and good for business, the guy do the same thing. He took my order threw my money at me when he came out. I don’t understand he could’ve said no but probably felt guilty since he just did it for someone else. I really enjoyed that place but since being treated with such hostility I don’t think I’ll return. I prefer to support ma and pa shops over chains but I really felt insulted.

Overpriced, poor selection and long lines… Artisanal coffee is overrated, especially with a Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts right around the block.

I can’t start my work day or get through an afternoon slump without their coffee. The staff is wonderful and their coffee is delicious. I don’t even add sugar.

I think from reading the other reviews, the takeaway is that this place is not consistent in terms of the coffee they brew. I actually like the vibe. Although there is a seating area, it functions mostly as a take-out kind of place. The service was good. I ordered a medium coffee, which I felt was actually quite strong, not tepid as some of the other reviewers have noted. They were able to add soy milk to my order. Pricing was standard. I also got a giant raspberry pastry. Overall $ 5 for both items, which I didn’t think was terrible. The pastry was quite good and they had other options that looked decent as well.

This is a fantastic little shop on 1st Avenue. The staff is super-friendly. The front counter is packed full of breakfast yummies — I had the sugar-free cranberry muffin and it was total yum. The coffee is much better than Starbucks and it doesn’t have that ‘corporate’ feel to any part of the place!

There’s a reason this cozy little spot has a line running out the door every morning! The service is quick(if not a little rushed on a Sunday morning), but incredibly friendly and welcoming. The muffins are to die for!(My favorite is the mixed berry, and a friend recommends the double chocolate). Overall an ideal coffee & treat stop!

Good Coffee shops are so hard to come by. With that being said Coffee Inn is not what I would consider a good coffee shop. Come for their bagels and that is about it they just about overcharge on everything else. The good. Brooklyn Bagels are fantastic… The not so good… Small cramped place… You have to yell your order above 6 other costumers waiting in line and when they get your order wrong they give you a dirty look. I have a real issue with service. I know people rave about the service but their employees are selectively nice to customers. For some reason one of their employees refuses to give me my rightful hospital employee discount… yes I am a physician at nyp and that particular employee always used to give me the discount without any issue… but one day when I told them they got the order wrong he gave me a dirty look and argued with me saying I requested something else and actually charged me the difference… since then that employee always seem to give me a not so friendly look and never treated me the same. Never coming here again. McDonald’s serves better coffee than coffee inn. Save yourself money Don’t come to Coffee Inn!

Great service. Ordered a café latte to take out on a cold day. They were considerate enough to wrap an aluminum foil to keep warm and a little sticker on the lid to avoid spilling. In a city where you learn to tolerate poor service, this shop really exceeded my expectations. Thank you so much!

I’ve been going here for more than a decade so they will probably not be happy with this decidedly tepid review. Then again, they’ve received hundreds of my hard earned dollars for their tepid coffee. First the good. I love the staff. They are friendly and efficient and remember my preferred drink every time. They make it a great little neighborhood coffee shop. I’m also impressed by their ability to retain staff long-term. Other coffee shops I visit seem to have a revolving door of baristas, some lasting just a few weeks. One or two of the guys at The Coffee Inn have been there since my first visit. Now the bad. They recently renovated and the renovation can best be described as I-wish-we-were-Brooklyn. Unfinished wood, coffee related knicknacks«abandoned» on shelves, and, this is the sad part, all those lovely employees wearing knock-off hipster hats. it gives the vibe of a wannabe hipster coffee bar in Brooklyn, which probably matters very little to the hundreds of bleary eyed medical center employees who walk through every day, but that’s where the problem lies. You see, The Coffee Inn’s coffee is just not very good. It’s not single sourced, it’s not preciously handled pour-over, it’s not painstakingly traditional espresso, it’s not carefully foamed milk with latte art. It’s hard working men and women making coffee quickly for a harried work-a-day crowd. So just be what you are. Don’t charge $ 4.50 for a cappuccino when that’s what we can pay down the street at a legitimate coffee roaster’s outpost on the UES. Don’t pose as a hipster joint, because those precious hipsters will show up and be disappointed at the lack of quality. Or, on the other hand, if you’re going to make your employees wear those silly hats, make better coffee.

This place is so warm, cozy and adorable. Aside from the homey décor, the coffee is great quality. I always like a place that offers homemade simple syrup at a self-fix coffee bar, too! Would highly recommend stopping by for a cup and enjoying some people watching!
