DONOTORDERFROMHERE. Most difficult seamless order I have ever had. Sent me the wrong roll, then told me I was wrong and refused to send me a new one. Finally when they agreed to send me a new one it hadn’t arrived almost an hour later so I called back and they hung up on me. When the sushi finally did come it was disgusting. Save yourself the trouble and order from somewhere else.

Somewhat below average sushi, but good happy hour deals. Since this is one of the very few places in the city that offers a cheap happy hour deal on sushi, my friend and I like coming here only for the happy hour sushi deal. Don’t expect to come here to get full for under $ 10 unless you weren’t even hungry to begin with. If you are hungry, however, 5 rolls should good enough. I have nothing terrible to say about this place – you really get what you pay for. And in this case, $ 3 for 6 pieces is a decent deal, but filling enough since they are skimpy on the ingredients. I also wouldn’t go as far to say that the quality is awful because I’ve had worse for pricier, but the rice can fall apart sometimes. You can expect the sushi to be on the same level as any 3-star, average sushi joint, but the happy hour deals are pretty great.

My friends and I are definitely snobby when it comes to food especially fish, that being said Iron Sushi is amazing. The happy hour deal is almost too good to be true. EVERYTHING is $ 3 — sushi, apps, wine. Since I found iron sushi in October I have been here 10 times. I like it so much that I order delivery and pay more for the same food(happy hour special is only for dine in.) My only complaint is that the service is not great. The staff is not very attentive or fast. Regardless, I will be back.

I should’ve known this place was horrible when I walked in and was the only customer! I told them I was a party of one and then asked where their restroom was located. The host asked me if I was sure that I’m dining in, restrooms are for customers only. First of all, bitch — did you not hear me just tell you I wanted a table for one? I ordered the tofu and eggplant teriyaki. This was by far the worst meal I’ve eaten in a very long time, and I’m extremely lenient! The tofu and eggplant were greasy and soggy and the soy sauce tastes like what I imagine toilet water would. I ordered an extra one of these to eat for dinner so I could meet the $ 15 minimum for using a credit card and I honestly think a homeless person would be insulted if I gave them this. I wouldn’t feed this to my enemies! Now I don’t know what to do with this extra slop, I hate bad food but I hate wasting food… =(

DONOTGOHERE — food arrived 1.5 hrs late. I called twice and they couldn’t be bothered to return my phone call. When I reached them they stated sushi should not be warm. I didn’t order sushi I ordered dumplings and sashimi. They won’t give me a refund and didn’t even offer to send replacement food. Instead, they told me to call the bank and decline the charge.

Delivery took an hour for 3 items. I end up throwing away a majority of them because it tasted funny to me. Never will order from here again.

Came here tonight for a happy hour special. They have quite a few rolls that are $ 3, from 4PM to 8PM. I personally got salmon avocado, eel avocado and pumpkin tempura. The eel and pumpkin were on point and then salmon was so so. I feel like the fish was a little bland. We also got gyoza for $ 3, which was also pretty delicious. Beers, wines and sake are also $ 3 during happy hour, but I didn’t indulge this time. My friend had a spicy tuna roll which he said was pretty good. They had some bento box specials, but I didn’t really take a look at it, as it was for lunch. The place was kinda empty, but they had some great music playing and the staff was pretty friendly. My only complaint was that the floor was quite sticky, like everywhere. The place looks a little run down as well, which some dark rooms for storage. But we were in the lighted area so it was all good. Would definitely come back for some cheap sushi now that may’s place burned down. RIP.

Sushi is of poor quality(you get what you pay for cheap sushi=low grade quality fish) and customer service is disgusting. I came here alone I think my bill was around $ 12+(I’m one person I can’t possibly eat that much). I went on a slow Monday(there was only one other guest there) I told them before I only had my card. Instead of just taking a customer bc with tip it would be around $ 15 they refused my service. Long story short credit card machines don’t know if you are running it for $ 1 dollar ofr $ 100 so basically I took My business else where. You should NEVER refuse a paying customer. I would never go Here or recommend it to any of my friends.

Honestly I don’t know how this place can compete with food in the area. I know its cheap for the area, but the sushi is honestly not that good even for the price. I would pick supermarket sushi over this place.

The service can be kind of slow, but the prices can’t be beat. Iron Sushi serves $ 3 rolls during their everyday happy hour from 4−8PM. The fish is fresh, though the rolls are on the small side(but hey, for $ 3, who am I to complain?)

First time here. Happy Hour Everyday Monday-Sunday 4−8PM. $ 3 rolls of sushi. Best deal in NYC. Sushi made fresh and yummy. Great deal for your money when you are craving sushi and hungry. I highly recommend the Shrimp Tempura. Plenty of seats, nice wall paper and very bright. Plus there’s mints in the front when you leave. Definitely coming back to try the other sushi during happy hour.

Thanks to the terrible stock market, aka Black Monday, I was very poor. I was ready to go on my ramen diet(30 cents per bag of ramen) but I didn’t feel like eating ramen, so I decided to go there to try out their happy hour. $ 3 beer, wine, warm sake and $ 3 sushi rolls. What more could I ask for? Happy hour goes till 8pm– bonus for those who work late. I had 3 kinds of sushi rolls– tuna avocado, salmon cucumber, eel cucumber. All were decent. We shared our edamame, they only put salt at the top so only the first few pods were salty and the rest weren’t… Will be back for more cheap sushi.

The rating here will highly depend on whether you prefer the great deals they have for happy hour, or whether you favor the absolute quality and taste of the sushi. I for one, am torn between the two. So it’s a 3.5 stars, with a round down because in the end, a sushi joint must have great sushi to deserve great grade. Their happy hour deals are awesome. $ 3 for about 15 different types of rolls, $ 3 for beer, wine, or hot sake from 4−8pm. 3 rolls will really fill you up, and with a couple of drinks you’ll get out of here for less than $ 20 after tips. You really can’t beat that. And the rolls are pretty good, of course it will depend on what you get. I also ordered the sushi plate for $ 15, which includes 7 pieces and a tuna roll. This was at best okay, with smallish pieces of sushi of okay quality and a small 6-piece simple tuna roll. I should have gotten 5 more rolls which, along with the 2 I ordered would have had me rolling out the door. So definitely go here for the happy hour, not so much for the rest. Service is okay, nothing great. The servers could smile more but they’re not rude either. Table-for-1 Factor: I did it solo, but not sure that’s a comfortable scene for sitting alone during happy hour…

Two stars because of great pricing and selection for Happy Hour cheap sushi! Otherwise, it would’ve just been one star. I really hope their food during regular hours or their special rolls are better than the happy hour offerings. Even though the rolls were $ 3 each, the amount in there amounted to thumb width. We ordered spicy tuna, salmon jalapeño, salmon skin, avocado tempura, salmon cucumber, and several more. Service was slow and it took them over 20 minutes to get us our order. Most likely, we won’t be returning to this place, even for happy hour.

I was somewhat skeptical when my friend first told me that we were going to go to a place that had $ 3 sushi rolls. I ended up being very pleasantly surprised and have been here quite a few times now. This place has $ 3 sushi rolls until 8:00PM every day. I’ve found that a lot of places that have this special only have a short list of rolls that are on the happy hour deal, but Iron Sushi has an extensive list. I enjoy the Philadelphia roll, the California roll, the mango shrimp roll and the spicy salmon roll, but really everything looked good. They also have $ 3 beer and wine as well as a select group of appetizers(including shumai and edamame). I will say that the rolls are pretty small, but still pretty tasty. I for one would rather have the smaller rolls with better ingredients than a hefty rolls with poor quality so it is fine with me. I’m able to leave full and spend less than $ 10 on a meal so great for me. I gave this place 4 stars mainly because of the happy hour price relative to the quality that you get. I don’t think I would recommend coming here when there isn’t a special.

The notion of cheap eats brought my attention to Iron Sushi for their $ 3 happy hour items. They provide a nice long list of sushi rolls to choose from, all marked for $ 3 each. Like most people I was skeptical of such deals that sound too good to be true. The service, relatively fast, not the fastest but it isn’t the slowest either. On a packed Wednesday evening, the service was actually better than I had expected. The sushi was surprisingly fresh and wasn’t as bad as I had anticipated. The size was another issue. For the price one shouldn’t expect too much. The rolls had some raw fish, large chunks of other fillers like avocado and not much rice on the outside. They aren’t big and it’s obvious because after five rolls(cut to six pieces each) I was still hungry. Not the best but certainly not the worst. My friend ordered from their menu and he had the sashimi regular entrée, which had 15 pieces of assorted sashimi. They all looked fresh and decently big in size. It costed more than my five rolls but it came with miso soup. A good cheap eats to get your sushi cravings subsided. Overall, it’s a 3.5 type of place.

How much do you love cheap stuff? How about cheap sushi? While I’m not a huge sushi fan, I am the unofficial mayor of Cheap-ville. So it was love at first sight. of the happy hour menu. It was only $ 3 for wine, Sapporo, about 20 kinds of rolls and several appetizers. $ 3 each. until 8pm! You heard that right! I ordered gyoza(6 per order) and they were pretty good! Typical for your average Asian joint. But what really sold me was the sushi. I got a tempura avocado roll and a California roll. This was the first time I genuinely enjoyed sushi. the flavors were just perfect and everything tasted very fresh. Honestly this is the perfect gateway sushi, at $ 3 a roll you won’t be too disappointed if you’re not a huge fan of it. so be adventurous and try something new! I don’t think you’ll regret it. Our bill was just a tally of $ 3 items(including a green tea ice cream I ordered, yum). Total financial bliss!

Okay, so this is no Sushi of Gari here. Let’s face it. The sushi is good, but not delicious, but not gross. If you come here and pay regular prices on an average day, its not going to be worth it. HOWEVER, this place has hands down one of the best happy hour specials for sushi in Manhattan that I know of. Everyday from 4−8pm, a reasonable selection of sushi all just for $ 3, as well as beer /sake /other appetizers. My recommendation? Get the tatsuta age if you like deliciously tender Japanese fried chicken, and then the Calimari Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Snow Crab Roll, YT and Jalapeño and Salmon Advocado rolls are all solid choices. The price really takes the cake — cheaper than most lunch specials — and the fact that it still tastes good, makes this a must for big sushi eaters.

We were three, looking for a sushi place with not too expensive price in the neighborhood. Iron Sushi was exactly what we were searching for… Was it good? Not really… We took the sushi/sashimi menu for 3. Lots of quantity, but it’s not what will convince me to go more often to the Japanese. The roll included in the menu was quite better, and it’s probably what you should go for there. Yet, we paid 35 $ per person with our beers(they had no more tap beer). It’s clearly really cheap… Nothing more to say except you should go there for the good reasons(cheap Japanese daily meal). PS: service and decoration are just invisible. They were passing very bad RnB music also. It’s just fitting with the food and the price.
