I have reviewed this place before. It is my most favorite Brazilian Restaurant in the city. The food is so authentic and it is reasonably priced compare to other Brazilian restaurants in New York city. I took my clients from Brazil for lunch, we ordered Shrimp in Coconut milk sauce(not on menu). It was so delicious. Service at this place is impeccable, very accommodating & courteous. I never miss any opportunity to go to this place. Muito Bein!

I love this place. I come to New York a couple times a year, and try to eat at this restaurant at least once each time. Like everyone else has said, the cheese balls are delicious, but the main courses are also excellent. I love the chicken and rice dish with fried plantains on the side. Everything is very tasty. The service is very good as well. The only downside is that the place is truly tiny, so if it’s a busy day/night, you may feel a little claustrophobic. Prices are reasonable and the vibe is totally authentic. Highly recommended!

Pretty good for a Brazilian restaurant, but not great for a Brazilian restaurant in New York. I hold restaurants in big cities such as NY to a much higher standard. They charge more because they’re in NY, so why shouldn’t I expect more from them? I had the«caldo verde» soup to start with. It was tasty but I didn’t like the flavor of the Portuguese sausage so I ate everything but the sausage. It was kind of annoying to scoop out the sausage because it was cut in small pieces. For the main entrée I had a «moqueca», a traditional fish dish. Again, good but not great. Being Brazilian myself, I’m picky when it comes to Brazilian restaurants and know what really good home cooked Brazilian food tastes like. This is not it.

Ok. To be fair, I only come here for the cheese balls… bread and chicken ipanema, but why fix if it ain’t broke. They never fail me and I always leave satisfied with this combo, usually accompanied with caprinha. Service last time I went was mediocre since the female server was borderline rude.

Best. Feijoada. Ever. That’s it. It’s that simple.

The food was great. My table ordered four different dishes and all were excellent. The main dish was so good that I even ordered dessert which was also fabulous. I can only recommend this place. They serve simple Brazilian style dishes that should allow anyone to find something on the menu.

The food was above average and we had some great Caipirinhas. The best part was desert we had several of them and they were all very good. The only down side to this place is that is it very small and that the service was very distant. We had to ask for the specials, the drink selections, we pretty much sold ourselves the menue… which seemed strange. Overall I would definitely go back again.

Probably one of the best Brazilian restaurants nearby. Genuine Brazilian homemade food taste. The space itself is too tiny so make sure you have a reservation before coming with a group of 4 or more.

This was my first time having Brazilian food and I’m so happy it was at Rice & Beans! The service was wonderful, the food was DELICIOUS and they were so accommodating to us while dining with a toddler. Can’t wait to go back!

I had the Yucca for appetizer and I didn’t think it was very special. I like how it was fried but not oily at all. It was the right amount of salt used so it was good.(***) The place was very small, they have limited seats. Service was good. They gave us what we need and left us alone.(***) The portion was on the bigger side so I shared with 2 other friends. We had the Brazilian Style Pork Chops and the Chicken Risotto Brazilian Style. The pork chop was a bit dry. I recommend using the bean and the sauce. Veg on the side taste really good and I’m not a big fan of beans, but the beans did take pretty good. The yellow rice was a bit dry which also comes with the meal. The chicken Risotto was very soggy I thought. I think they use too much water when cooking the rice.(**)

Service a little slow and absentminded BUT the food was so amazing that it really didn’t matter. Stumbled in bc we were so hungry and there was an empty table right by the door, the restaurant we were originally heading to across the street said 30 min wait. My girlfriend is from Brazil and has lived in the US for 15 yrs, she said this was the best and most authentic brazilian restaurant she has come across here. I wouldn’t know but I did love the food and noted that it was not the typical latino menu. Tiny restaurant and I think we got lucky getting a table right away, so you might have to wait but so worth it!

This place is great. Tiny, but most places in Hells Kitchen are. So, the trick is to go here not on Friday or Saturday night — unless you want to wait. During the week it’s pretty empty. The food is authentic Brazilian, and really tasty. My favorite dish is the Chicken Risotto. The empanadas are also pretty great. Also of course — amazing for your go-to rice and beans —(and plantains!)

I truly liked the food here. I had the prawns and Yucca and it was something like amazing. Very authentic. Will return.
