This review is long overdue. I bought my very first Herve Leger dress here after seeing Victoria Beckham in one of their dresses at the Marc Jacobs Spring 2008 fashion show. It was and still continues to be the most beautiful dress that I have ever seen. I had to have it. I’ve never been so desperate for anything in my entire life as I was for this dress. After the infamous Intermix website crash prevented me from purchasing this dress, I took the subway downtown to see if this boutique had it in stock. I entered the store with a sweaty brow and debit card in hand in the hopes of owning this wearable piece of art. As I’m looking around, I’m immediately greeted by a sweet salesperson/manager who offers to help me. I asked her if they had the über popular Victoria Beckham dress. She informed me that they did in fact have the dress in stock. I was so excited. I asked if they had an xxs and they did. My knees buckled once the other salesperson brought it out. As I’m being led to the dressing room to try it on, visions of where I was going to wear this beauty danced in my head. I was literally shaking as I was putting it on. I’m not kidding. As anyone knows that when you first get these dresses brand new, you must have someone to help you zip it up because of the form-fitting silhouette. The gentleman was kind enough to come into the dressing room to zip me up in the back. It wasn’t weird at all only because I assumed he was pitching for the other team. After I’m done modeling the dress, I tell them that I would like to buy it. Once the dress is neatly packed away in the bag, I hand the woman my debit card. They run the card and it’s rejected! Normally I would have been mortified but because I was in such a state of euphoria, I remained calm. I called up Chase and asked them for an explanation as to why my card had been declined. They went on to explain about a card holder’s pattern and how they assumed that I was a victim of identity theft. Complete and utter embarrassment began to wash over me as I look up at the two salespeople to inform them of the situation. I was thinking of going to the nearest Chase bank in order to withdraw $ 1500 for this dress. I couldn’t leave this store without my baby. I asked the saleslady if I would be able to use my bf’s credit card. I called him and put him on the phone with her and she was able to take his AMEX info over the phone. I was so elated. To make a long story short, that was the best customer service I have ever experienced in my life. They could easily have said no and sent me on my way, but they went above and beyond to make sure that I left the store with that dress. It’s too bad I don’t remember their names because they were awesome. Fast forward to 2014 and I now own ten of these babies. My dresses range in price from $ 950 for the Basic Colorblock Bandage dress to $ 1690 for the Short-Sleeve Ombré Bandage dress. And that’s before taxes. Yes, they are super duper expensive but worth every penny. I know that it may seem unconscionable to spend this much money on a dress, but they are amazing and I don’t have any children. If I had kids I would use the money to buy strollers and stuff but since that is not the case, don’t judge me.

This store is one of my happy places, if you have the body for these dresses these gowns are to die for. I always have so much fun trying on designer gowns and I love that this Herve Leger carries tons of XS’s … not that many do! The staff are amazing and not pushy at all which is great when you are considering a gown that could put you back more than $ 1,000. This store has quite the selection, it’s definitely the largest Herve Leger I’ve been in. The lady even offered me 20% but alas I couldn’t justify it on a $ 1,700 gown even though it was stunning on and I have nothing like it in my closet. I’ve got my eye on it… maybe soon enough I’ll be back to purchase the blue ombré gown… until then Herve xoxo!

I can’t believe I am the first one to review this! No love for bandage dresses? Well, I do! I had always wanted to buy those amazing dresses but the limited selection at Bergdorf always disappointed me and when I did like something, they didn’t carry my size, which is a XS. Until one day I walked into this boutique on upper east side, and oh boy I was in paradise. They have both the newest collection and classic styles and although not all come in my size, I did manage to find ones that I love. I left as a happy customer with two gorgeous dresses(well dropped $ 3,000!) and one of them didn’t become available anywhere else until about a month later when the collection finally appeared on its official website and department stores’ websites for pre-order! How can I not love this amazing boutique?! Note: their smallest size is actually XXS although they may not be in stock for a lot of styles. I am a size 0 for most contemporary designers and size 2 for premier designers but I wear a XS in HL. Wish I could wear a XXS just to make myself feel skinnier!
