My experience with this store, especially these 2 salespeople, names Dominique and Nar, was HORRiBLE. They’re we’re extremely disrespectful and treated the customer in a very abusive tone and manner. Shame on this store to hire low ethical and such disgusting people to represent the store!

The clothes at A&O can be a hit or a miss, but I can usually always find something I like. However, the sales assistants at this location can be very, very overbearing when trying to sell you clothes :(I sometimes just want to be left alone to make my decision and it’s a bit uncomfortable when you have two or three girls telling you to buy every article of clothing in your hands. Also, the store refund/exchange policy is ridiculous, and the fact that you can’t get points on the dollars spent is also a minus since almost everything in the store can be bought at Bergdorf/Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales and receive points with their loyalty programs.

I have shopped at the 87th location several times and the experience was fine. Today, I tried on an outfit, and the SA was so innapropriately pushy that my friend and I left shocked. I was told to buy and exchange for credit if I decided I didn’t want it(why?), and then she followed me around the store and asked me why I wasn’t buying the outfit. It was one of the weirdest shopping experiences I’ve ever had – desperate and confrontational. I will stick to shopping A+O online.

My exboyfriend got me a pair of Alice and Oliva Giselle heels for my birthday, but since they ran small and I needed the next size up. I tried going to this store, but the employee refused to make an exchange without a receipt. I always shop at luxury retailers and they always allow and exchange in size even if you don’t have one. Overall I was very disappointed by the lack of customer service and I would not want to spend another dollar there if this is how they treat their clients. Luckily Saks 5th Ave carried the same shoes and were able to make the exchange for me without a problem.

This is by far my favorite Alice + Olivia boutique in NYC. The customer service is excellent and unpretentious. Everyone greeted me and as I was looking at the shoes, one of the salesgirls said«Now which one do you want to try on? Let’s get you into these shoes, even if it’s just to try.» This would normally seem pushy to me but she was so sweet and it was done in such a professional manner. Along with the collection, there is a small but well-edited selection of vintage jewelry and scarves. Although the line is sold in hundreds of department stores and boutiques, you really get a feel for Stacey Bendet’s vision when you walk in the store.

Awesome boutique. Cute clothing and impeccable, friendly service. The store is just the right size — small enough to be manageable and enjoyable, but with enough high-quality items that you can leave with something you love if you’re in the mood to shop! I used to live right down the block, so I’d walk by the storefront everyday on the way to work. Their window display is always changing with fun outfits I’d love to wear. What’s great is that they turn over their inventory often(weekly I believe), so every time you go is different. I think this is because this is their flagship location, so they have the most selection. Anyway — this is just a great place for fun, unique, and stylish clothes that don’t shy away from bright colors done tastefully. Five stars!
