My oh my, the dizzying array of teas to choose from! I am a huge fan of oolong teas, so I decided to get a pot of the Phoenix Dan Dong — a light brown tea with notes of roasted white peaches. I know some people dislike the earthy, bitter tones prominent amongst oolong teas, but I believe this variety’s lightness would be a good«intro tea» for those wishing to cultivate a palate for oolong. Definitely would recommend ordering their Vanilla Scones with the Devonshire Cream and Strawberry Jam. The scone on its own is warm and melts in your mouth within seconds. But when you smear a little of the cream and jam onto a piece of that scone, you’re tasting heaven in your mouth. The staff are super friendly and willing to go above and beyond to help guide customers in the right direction upon leaving their shop! Definitely do not hesitate to ask any employee a question about the teas, whether to use Über vs. walking, the complexities of names, etc. I look forward to coming back the next time I come to NYC.

I love tea. I love this tea house. I worked at Teavana back in the day, so I can say with at least some authority that this place is legit. Their selection is vast, and the prices are very good as well. The staff also isn’t sales-sales driven, and they’re more into having you smell and taste different flavors. It’s always a pleasure to talk to them. I continually bring more of friends because I just love showing off this jewel of an establishment. Probably the best place to buy tea in all of New York. Hands-down.

Absolutely splendid tea accompanied by friendly, accommodating service, and not too long of a wait. This is a tea shop, with a tea café in the back area. I met with a friend to catch-up, and this tea room only added to the pleasuring venue. I sipped some, and I bought some. Also, the flavors for tea here are extensive, ranging from chocolate and«birthday» teas, to your average green and black teas.

There are few things better on a Sunday afternoon than a pot of tea, the vanilla scones(the Devonshire cream and jam should never be skipped), and a book. However the lounge can frequently get packed and becomes quite loud. That said, the lounge is a great place to meet someone and have a conversation also, and the well lit environment provides a comfortable environment for a date. The tea(and scones) are relatively expensive, but I’m happy to pay a premium for any pickings of tea that doesn’t come from a paper bag.

Very peaceful environment and the scones are incredibly delicious! I got the Chai Hara tea, which was good but I wish it had been a bit stronger. Other than that, would come back. Small pot of tea(2 servings) = $ 6 Vanilla scones(2 small scones with jam and a buttery spread) = $ 7

My favorite tea spot in town! I love to gift these to friends and family and they’ve all loved it! When I’m walking by in the area, I like to stop by to try a complimentary tea so that I get an idea of what I want to get next time.

I guess you have try things at least once, so that you can experience different cultures. If you’re someone who enjoy sitting in cafes, indulge in fine teas, great ambiance and lengthy conversation. This might be your place. They have great selection of teas from around the world. They also have good scones and baked goods. I highly recommend to go here in the AM, or late afternoon. If you’re trying to go here between 1 – 3, it’s usually super packed. There’s only limited amount of seats in the dine-in area and it’s first come first serve basis. No reservations!

The Unilocal check-in here is a great deal! I stopped by on a whim, and ended up standing around for about 20 minutes talking to the staff, smelling and trying tea at their little tasting bar. What a great, friendly place. It wasn’t super busy, and the staff had no problem with me hanging out while I waited for a friend to get off of work. The café in the back looks very adorable.

I came here twice in 2 days. It was a magical tea experience. I smelt any and every tea and can get my hands on. The tea café was crowded and it was difficult to get a seat. I made sure to order the scones with clotted cream. It did not disappoint. I also had the invigorating tea. The spices were perfect. I also picked up some tea from the regular store. Some of the ladies who assist or a awesome with suggestions and flavor profiles of the teas. While others are so-so, but that is any place right. I wish they had this place in Texas

Tea lover’s Heaven, huge library of tea selections and they do tastings! Can choose to taste one of their teas on their walls or the tea selections of the day. Lots of tea to choose from. If you have trouble deciding, the staff are wonderful in trying to narrow down your choices and cater to your tastes. They have many blends when you love more than one tea. Prices are sold either by the pound of loose tea leaves, or by cans and boxes of sachets. Range from $ 5 — 50. Lots of tea equipment to buy, tea kettles, tea sets, tea strainers, tea storage jars, etc.

Amazing assortment is satchets as well as loose teas. It’s all categorized by type so it’s easy to find something you’ll like. The tea lounge area in the back is really nice and well-priced. Haven’t tried the foods but I’ll give 5 stars for the teas alone. Wife and I have been getting lots of different flavors and sample packs from H&S and have yet to find something that disappoints. The merchandise here is really, really cool, too. Will be back for sure next time we’re in SoHo

I’m a caffeine/gourmet coffee drinker but at times I would get teas for more choices and flavors. Harney & Sons is my go-to spot for the latter. It’s a hidden spacious place in SoHo with high ceilings and sit-down area. So it is convenient to grab a bag of my favorite dragon pearl jasmine tea and new flavors whenever I visit SoHo as well as meet with friends and enjoy a wonderful afternoon tea time with their yummy scones in store. Highlights: good selection of teas: black, green, flower, mixed flavors. From low-end to high-end(price can be steep). In store sitting available too. The only thing I would deduct their star is that tea tools are over-priced. I once bought a giraffe cup at ~$ 20, later I found the same cup sold at sub $ 10 in ctown! I would only get tea from this spot not tea tools tho. Recommend this spot for trying out teas and meet up with friends for a good tea time.

I first got turned on to Harney & Sons from visiting their Millerton location and have also done a factory tour. I was glad to hear that this location had opened in the city. While the tea leaves don’t originate in the US, taste and presentation in the tins and satchels tea give off the air of high-quality tea! This location is well done — with a wall of teas, from which you can sample and then the facing wall with teas in tins for purchase and tea accessories. You can get teas in satchels or bags, or loose. My favorite is the traditional English Breakfast; the lychee tea is also light and pleasant. There’s a small café with limited seating in the back, in which you can have some tea, soups, sandwiches, etc. I’ve only eaten here once or twice but have enjoyed it. The location gets very crowded at certain times and during the holidays, but perhaps because of the atmosphere and decoration, the jostling feels almost civilized. The service has also been good and it’s good to see that the Harney family is still very much involved in the running of their stores.

Stopped by here on a whim with a friend in search of coffee and Wifi. We decided tea was a healthier option and in we walked to explore this small little café situated in the back of this rather classy and clean store. This place is something my mother would love as it contains her two favorite things: tea and class. We were seated quickly and my friend ordered an Iced Chai while I ordered the Iced Tea Latte. They both came in large glasses and were each $ 5 which I think is a pretty cheap price for the size they were. We also ordered a macarons, coconut and Rose Lychee. Both were rich and $ 3 each. Overall, I am really glad we stopped into this place and tried something different! I definitely recommend stopping in here and make sure to check in for their check in reward!

Cool spacious place especially if you like tea. …and the assorted accessories that can go w/it, such as ULTRACOOLWORDYCOASTERS. See my photos! Friendly, helpful staff. I have not tried their café, but, I will be going back for sure, so I’ll try it in a few weeks. Check in w/Yelp & you can take home a nice sample of loose tea of your choice. I went to the store to buy a tin of their Decaf Hot Cinnamon Tea, which also has orange & sweet cloves. 20 lovely, triangular sachets of tea, in a tin for $ 5.99…depending on the tea, some are in the $ 8.50 category. I had received this flavorful tea as a Xmas 2015 gift & I LOVEIT! So I went to the Soho store to buy more. I look forward to my future visits!!! You can sample a tea in the front. See my photos. I do look forward to enjoying their small, intimate, café on my next visit – the café has seating… the ONLY seating in the store. If you enjoy tea & the cozy, comfort it may bring to you, then you should enjoy this lovely, spacious Tea Shop on Broome Street in SoHo. It is near Broadway. You can take the N or R train to Prince Street, walk 2 blocks south on Broadway & you are at Broome Street. Enjoy! See my photos!

Had coffee and some snack here with my cousins a few weeks ago and had a great time. We enjoyed the hot cinnamon spice latter($ 7) and a variety of the scones(delicious!) and cakes. We also had the quiches which were great, too. The prices were just a little too high to go all the time, but this is a cute spot to roll in if you are in the area shopping and need a tea/snack pick me up! Server was very nice and managed a big section impressively well! HUUUGE tea selection and a great place to get gifts as well!

I cannot recall exactly where or when I was first introduced to these exquisite teas. I presume it was at the Four Seasons sometime in the last millennium but the love affair is now long and deep. Our pantry has at least three varieties at any given time, currently including Paris, Caribe and Green Tea with Coconut. We discern no difference in quality between the loose and sachet teas(although we recognize that purists would never purchase bagged tea; in our defense, a sachet is much simpler to manage in the office). The dizzying array of teas here guarantees our continued patronage as we work our way through the options. Next on our list are the gorgeous artistic teas. Must find transparent cups worthy of those teas so we can admire the blossoms while we sip their nectar.

They serve Harney & Sons teas at my work and I always thought it was your average tea. But after trying other teas, I’m realizing I’ve been spoiled this entire time. Their teas are refreshing and not terribly strong. I especially love the organic green with citrus and ginkgo. At work, I’d get the Egyptian chamomile because it makes me feel like I’m at a spa even though I’m at work. This place is wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed the wedding tea I had here with my vanilla scone. I left with 4 scones and 3 boxes of teas.

I love Harney & Sons! My BFF has gifted a few tins to me in the past, including the special SoHo Chocolate and Coconut Blend. I love the tea sachets and the tins are beautiful for display. This store is adorable and I love the café section! Ham and Gruyère Scones($ 7) Cheddar and Chive Scones($ 7) Lafayette Bakery’s Quiche Lorraine($ 9) Lafayette Bakery’s Market Vegetable Quiche($ 9) Large Pot of White Peach Tea($ 8) The scones and quiches were deeeeelicious! Really, really good. All of it. My BFF and I got our own pots of tea to enjoy and I opted for the White Peach Tea. Great, of course. We were overzealous with the amount of tea, so I’d recommend the small pot for one. Tea sachets in tins: Birthday Tea($ 8) Love Life: Supports GMHC($ 12) Ginger Tea($ 5.99) Dragon Pearl Jasmine($ 12) Paris($ 8) Camomile Herbal($ 8) I gifted the Camomile to my brother and he loved it. Although he doesn’t care for the tin, I’m happy to keep it. I also got two Harney & Sons Teacups($ 9) because they’re simple and beautiful. Service was great in the café and the tea shop as well. When I visited in February, there was a Unilocal check-in offer for a free sample of tea. I explained what type of tea I wanted(something with fruit) and the girl was able to recommend something great.

Food and tea? Excellent. Service? Really sub-par. The main server basically stood behind the counter and never really looked up. He was extremely hard to get and gave off an angry vibe. Not as if he was going to yell or anything but when we ordered, he gave me the impression of a cold personality. Not very friendly. Also, if you’re like me and probably every other customer who goes here, you’ll probably step into the wrong store and ask for a table hahaha lmk if you do! We can laugh about it together :) I really liked my vanilla scones and my bf liked his lemon ones. His were a summer special. I got the Asian Flower(??) and he got the Genmai tea I believe. Both came in small pots that added up to around two cups. Very yummy and the scones were very fresh and fluffy :) I also really liked the Devonshire cream that comes with it. If it weren’t for Mr. Hard-To-Get waiter, I would’ve had a great afternoon tea experience.
