This place is weird. They have three different phone number listed on the web, but they literally NEVERANSWERTHEPHONE. Also they disappeared from seamless. So basically you can’t order from them. I used to order from them on seamless and the food was pretty good, but they apparently don’t want to do delivery anymore I guess.

I ordered from this place through seamless this evening. The order was placed at 8:07pm. I received an email saying my food would be delivered between 8:55 — 9:05pm(after it was advertised on seamless as a 40 – 50 minute wait) 9:15 rolls around and there’s no food. I call the restaurant and they asked me if I was the same person who called 45 minutes ago– and then said the guy left 10 minutes ago. At 9:45 I tried calling back and was HUNGUPON– twice! I called seamless and the guy there called the restaurant and got me an updated time of delivery for 10:07pm. 1. This restaurant is located literally 20 blocks away from me. 2. Why the hell do I want to eat dinner at 10:30pm on a Tuesday night. 3. These assholes had the nerve to charge me a $ 5 delivery fee for a 2 hour wait. DONOTORDERFROMTHISPLACE!!!

very friendly staff. Had the fruiti de mare. yummy! Delivery boy didn’t have change. I made him go to the corner store to get change and come back so I could pay and tip him. My tiramasu was not good. it was clearly the last piece, and small and malshapen at that, but worse, the cream had curdled. Had to throw it away. Oh well. can’t win them all. still the supper was good, and I think I will give them another go. Garlic bread is great too, and cheap.

I give it 3 stars not because the food isn’t good it’s the service/wait staff it’s lacking it needs to be stepped up can’t be waiting for everything and reminding to fill glasses and waiting for dessert to come but the food is great and good and the Gospel Brunch is slamming Raine is so inviting will comeback

AVOIDATALLCOSTS! Piss poor food, piss poor service seem to be the status quo at this establishment. My husband and I visited a few years ago on Valentine’s day and the experience was so horrible we vowed NEVER to go out on V-day again. Now it’s several years later and I was out with my family to celebrate my aunt’s birthday and this experience wasn’t any better. We had a reservation for 2:30pm but weren’t seated until close to 5pm. They wanted $ 25 for the buffet with that consisted literally of chicken, macaroni and cheese and greens. That’s it! And to that there wasn’t much of that left after having to wait to be seated for 2.5 hours. We would have been better off going to Manna’s or Jacob’s, which have a much better variety and cost a lot less. And that was just the beginning of our troubles. I don’t know why I didn’t warn my family to STAYAWAYFROMTHISHELLHOLE, but for any one out there who is considering coming here, DON’T! The outside may be pretty but everything else inside, especially management, makes this place a cesspool. The level of disorganization and incompetence was absolutely breathtaking! Please do yourself and favor and stay away. There are PLENTY of restaurants in Harlem that have much better food and aren’t run by incompetent pissant of a woman who doesn’t know the first thing about customer service!

I was a little hesitant patronizing this place because of all the mixed reviews but it’s so close to home like literally around the corner & I didn’t feel like cooking I figured it didnt hurt to try & I’m glad I did! As stated in many of the prior reviews it was somewhat empty when we walked in we were seated immediately & then was brought the best tasting garlic bread(which I was charged for) . We ordered the chicken parm & chicken Marsala & was not disappointed by either .The only thing I would have liked to see it much better presentation in the food, but I did love the table linens & old time feel… BUT I WASASKEDTOLEAVEMYTIPINCASH& this felt weird

I love the shrimp scampi and mixed green salad. I always get the same thing and have been happy with the delivery or eating in. The scampi with vegetables comes with a dab of mashed potatoes. Love that! Where else can you get Italian food delivered in Harlem? Nowhere! If you eat in it’s really quiet, great for a close friend, Friday night chat when you just need to talk and decompress. Don’t go for the ambiance, just go to relax and unwind. It’s a no frills kind of spot. The space is huge and is usually pretty empty. It’s cozy though in its own way though. I’m about to order delivery right now. Really disappointed other people weren’t happy in their reviews.

Went here today and the food was excellent. The service was horrible. My waiter threw a glass at the cook and then they got in a fistfight. I did get a free beer but it took 45 minutes for spaghetti and meatballs and gnocchi to get to my table. I will not return

We have been ordering from Gran Piatto d’oro for years ever since they were a small restaurant on 118th street. The food and delivery service had deteriorated rapidly in the past year. Food is over cooked, we wait over an hour for a delivery when we are told 20minutes and the people who answer the phone are rude. We are now coming to the realization to move on to another italian restaurant. It is not worth your money!!!

DONOTUSE. This restaurant is all about GREED and LOWONCUSTOMERSERVICE. I booked a wedding dinner for a large group with a prixe fix menu. I called and went to the restaurant several times to finalize everything before the planned date. However, 2 days before the event, I was advised by Amie, the owner, that an award ceremony was planned for the same day ½ hour after my event was to start. I was livid!!! She insisted that she informed me this event was taking place before I went into contact. Really? Wouldn’t that be pretty stupid of me to book a wedding dinner at the same time as an award ceremony with microphones and speeches? Amie then started name dropping all the politicians that would be in attendance. Was I was supposed to be impressed with a bunch of people who line their pockets and not mine? All she had to do was say the day was book and I would’ve had the chance to book another day or even an earlier time. At this point all I could do was move the dinner up 30 minutes. The 1 star that I must give goes entirely to our waiter Raymond. He did everything he could to make the situation better. However, that was really impossible under the circumstances. Service was slow, the food was cold in some cases, I had to ask for my cake 4 times and there was no tea/coffee service which I paid for. When I was leaving, I noticed that the«important people» didn’t have any drinks or food on their tables. No money came was made from them. It was selfish and a poor business decision to put money before quality and the customers. The sad thing is that this was a really nice establishment when the previous manager was running it. My reason for wanting to hold my event here. After talking to other people in the area it wouldn’t surprise me if this restaurant is out of business soon. You have to be pretty desperate and up tight for money to do what she did. Just remember that BADBUSINESSSELLSONCEANDTHEREISNOFUTUREBUSINESSWITHBADREVIEWS!!!

Our entrees were good(but the side dish of vegetables was very skimpy)…4 stars. The hospitality/ambiance…not so good…1 star. The main dining room is very pretty which is probably why they do a lot of parties. But, we were sent to «the café» after sitting at a table, which is like eating next to the kitchen, because a party was scheduled later that day. We felt so «unwelcome» that we decided to just order entrees and leave. This was our second time there… similar thing happened the first time. By the time we left(less than an hour later), nobody from the party was even there yet! They couldn’t have let us eat… and then cleaned that one table for the party?

The only reason this establishment receives 2 stars is because their Pizza is yummy, the few times I have ordered. I ordered takeout online through this website, «EatStreet» and while the website was fantastic, I think the restaurant really dropped the ball on their online ordering system. My order was placed at 9:25pm I waited exactly 40 min then I called the restaurant to ensure they received my order. I received my order at 10:25 an entire hour later. The gentleman seemed unsure of what the order process was, he quickly told me my order is «leaving now». I told him PLEASE don’t rush my food now, I am in no hurry I just want to ensure my order was received and I can wait as long as it’s not cold. 1. My Chicken Salad was SUPERBLAND with 2 day old lettuce and soggy croutons. 2.My husbands Chicken Parmigana was good but needed a lot more sauce, very dry. 3.Zuchinni Sticks were shreds and not what I am used to, and cold and bland. 4. Mozzarella Sticks, HUGEDISAPPOINTMENT!!! 6 skinny little, supermarket bought, tasteless, cold sticks.

Gran PIatto d’Oro is pretty much the only restaurant within a four block radius, so it fills in a gap in this section of Harlem. First, the décor is pretty old school Italian. Heavy burgundy curtains, white fabric tablecloths, and candles fill the space. It’s not tired-looking, but it’s not exactly fresh either. However, I will give them a TON of credit for leaving a decent amount of space in between the tables. You can actually have a conversation here without your neighbors being able to participate. We came for dinner on a Friday night, and it was half empty. Entrees run about $ 12 – 20. We ordered the fried zucchini appetizer, and stuffed shells and artichoke risotto for dinner(the bill for two of us, no booze, came to about $ 50 with tip). The zucchini was delicious — crispy and salted well, and the dipping sauce had a touch of spice. The stuffed shells were also tasty; the pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce had a good balance of sweetness. The cheese filling could have had a touch more flavor. Risotto was great. The artichoke really cut the richness of the dish. The service was quick and the waiter was very pleasant. The only odd part was that they didn’t bring us bread until we were halfway done with our entrée. The waiter didn’t rush us out; in fact, we had to flag someone down for the check, which is a nice change from being herded out like cattle at most downtown places. This is probably not somewhere I’d travel to, but it’s a great neighborhood joint and a nice find for anyone who wants a break from the ubiquitous Mexican food or fried chicken.

Was really confused by this 2 ½ stars average. After reading many of them, they are mostly about the take out food/delivery. Lived near their original restaurant Puatti d’Oro on 109th, was surprised to see it closed down temporarily but was glad I went to this one and gave it a shot!!! Firstly, the waitress who worked in 109th was in this restaurant. She gave me a big welcoming as she remembered old customers! That’s customer service. Seeing the grand decorations, I was worried that food isn’t going to be as good as the tiny little restaurant on 109th. Incorrect. Food was amazingly tasty! Shrimp Fra Diavolo is my favorite! All my family ordered different pasta, and oh man, their pasta sauces were authentic. Unlike many so called italian restaurants with their different red sauces taste the same, Puatii d’Oro delivered the uniqueness of each sauce! «Read» is cheap, go try it! Price is reasonable with a big selection :) **Also check out the review for Puatii d’Oro(with 4 stars). They are the same!

I went to Gran Piatto d’Oro for dinner with friends who live in Harlem. This is a restaurant that they go to occasionally and we decided to give it a try. The place has a nice décor and the staff is friendly. The garlic bread is very good — it’s not too buttery and crunchy. We decided to share the Calamari as an appetizer. It was light and crunchy and cooked to perfection. For dinner, I had the penne vodka with chicken and it was very tasty. Others had lasagna and eggplant parmesan and it looked very good and they commented that it was tasty as well. The staff is attentive and friendly, however when a large party came in, it was hard to get their attention. Overall, it’s a solid restaurant and I will definitely be back.

Definitely go if you want to be insulted, ignored and chastised by the wait staff. Especially the head one that addressed our party. We were a group of 25. Owner thanked us for being there and then threw us to the wolves! Food was lackluster to say the most. Garlic bread was tasty but how can you mess up garlic bread. I’m glad I will not have to go back to that spot!

I’ve enjoyed the food here before but picking up take out and dining in… the service is not good. I ordered online through as I sometimes do on the way home from work. Pick up time said 15 – 20 minutes. It was ready in 35.(Even though he told me «four minutes» 15 minutes before it was ready. I heard them in the kitchen talking about my order including saying«Dressing mixed IN» But when I got home, the dressing was NOT mixed in OR on the side. It was just lettuce with cheese and stale croutons. My main dish was clearly made in a pan that was not thoroughly washed as it tasted like another dish and had red sauce to it(i get the same thing every time and that is not part of it). And when handing my my order, he barely exited the kitchen and said«this is yours» and abruptly handed it to me. No apology or thank you or anything. Just awful after a long day of work trying to pick up a quick meal on the way home!

This used to be decent for delivery and even dining in, as long as you stayed with tried and true dishes like spaghetti and meatballs, penne and rabe and chicken with artichokes, etc. The service used to be good dining in, although delivery was a little wonky sometimes(sometimes their credit machine wasn’t working). However, after last night, I am done with Piatto. I tried ordering for take-out called and a woman picked up, saying Gran Piatto, then spoke in Spanish I think to someone there and hung up. I called a second time, same thing, only giggling and then hang up. I decided to give a third try, was able to give my order. I mentioned the hangups, she apologized and then said«phone was having trouble». I ordered Chicken Marsala and Garlic bread, was told 20 – 25 minutes to pickup. That long?, yes. Ok. I picked up, there was one couple in the restaurant and 6 staff milling about with noone apparently in charge. The woman brought my food, then took 5 minutes on computer to print my check(despite having gotten my credit card # when I called). Maybe her first night? The chicken was very mediocre and portion was small. $ 16.75 for chicken and garlic bread? I give them 6 months before their door closes. Terrible service, mediocre food.
