Pizza is great, but don’t let them fool you. The card minimum is $ 15(actually illegal in the State of NY). Their website says 10. They’ll try to get you with this. If you don’t have cash, just don’t order from here. And if you do, CHECKYOURCARDSTATEMENT.

Here’s the thing… there are few pizza delivery choices where I am in Harlem and Giovanni’s, as far as taste, is the best(which inst a compliment because I’ve lived in the BX and had far better on Morris park ave!!!) This means however, that I’m waiting 2 hours for a regular cheese pizza. It’s not the delivery person because when I called 1.5 hours in, the pizza had yet to leave and when I finally got it, it’s cold. I ordered 7:32 and received my pizza 9:26. Luckily I’ll be moving soon and wont need to order from here ever again. Remaining New Yorkers, if you have other options… do that!

Real quick — SKIPTHISPLACE! Ordered delivery; pizza was bland, sauce had no flavor and there was not enough cheese. The other HUGE issue is that I ordered zeppolis — this place DOESNOTKNOWWHAT A ZEPPOLI is. They were such a disappointment — they basically gave me 5 small pieces of what appeared to be french rolls covered in powered sugar. Never again.

The chicken park was on point. I also really enjoyed the buffalo chicken sandwich. I did delivery and they were very quick and the food tasted great still !!

Update: tried it again and it’s gotten amazingly worse. I think the old owner sold it as I haven’t seen him around in a while. Anyways… it’s super cheap now but you get what you pay for… flimsy crust, burnt cheese, and a crappy attitude from the new crew. Pay attention to the cost at the register as well. The price seems to fluctuate depending on your attention span… avoid at all costs

Bad Italian food, terrible delivery service. Delivery guy had to call twice to find building.

We ordered our food online expecting it to arrive within 45 minutes as advertised. The food arrived an hour after ordering and calling to check the status of our delivery. When the pizza finally showed up it was obvious to me the gave us an old pie and added some fresh mozzarella cheese to liven it up! It wasn’t totally bad but for a person who enjoys eating their crust first it was bad and a bit painful. I’ve ordered from this place as a little girl and always ebjoyed the pizza from here. I must say I was disappointed!

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody. I live fairly close to this pizzeria and by the time the pizza arrived… it was cold. The pizza wasn’t good either. Disappointed.

I came here with a group of my colleagues after volunteering at The Food Bank for NY on 116th and Frederick Douglass, which was also an experience I would recommend. Not only did Giovanni’s accommodate 17 of us quickly and with a smile, but the pizzas were great! The chicken bruschetta was an interesting concept that was well-delivered. I really need to come to this part of town more – never had a reason to go east of Morningside Park before, but I liked it!

THis is a great spot for a Slice. I have not yet tried any other menu items, but their slice is consistently good. The place is definitely a bit old and beat up… but I go for the Pizza… not really a sit=down kind of spot. Friendly Staff & reasonable price.

Disgusting pasta and pizza place FORDINNER! We live pretty close to this spot, so since it’s convenient for us to order from there, we gave it a try 2 – 3 times. We ordered lunch once and dinner the rest of the times. When we ordered lunch, a lovely lady was there who was very polite and professional. The store was clean and everything was running smoothly. Unfortunately, the other 2 times that we went there for dinner were a complete disappointment. First of all, all the(male) employees were extremely rude. Second, I specifically remember the first time that we wanted to order pizza slices for dinner. We saw flies flying around the slices, so we changed, our minds and ordered from another store. But the cherry on top was last night, Labor Day 2014. We ordered at around 09:20 pm. The order came an hour later. I have ordered penne ala Bolognese. It was disgusting! The sauce wasn’t even tomato sauce, it was some kind of reddish water. The whole dish looked and tasted like it was standing there for hours and had just been reheated. When we called to complain about the dish and asked them to remake it or give us our money back, they gave us the worst behavior a ‘professional ‘ can give. The guy who takes the orders told us(amongst others) that our only option was for us to take the dish back to the store. They couldn’t send anyone. The cook, on the other end, told us that he never had a complaint from other customers before and that’s how Bolognese is supposed to be cooked and served. Well, I think that a store should treat its customers uniquely and that they should attend to each and everyone‘s opinion. But maybe it’s just me. As far as what the cook said, that the Bolognese was cooked to perfection, apparently, a trip to Italy(or at least to Little Italy) would benefit him. In addition, they cursed on us in Spanish talking to each other(my boyfriend is Latino and I had them on speaker), they refused to give us our money money back because we‘d paid by debit card and they practically, verbally, kicked us out. Terrible service and behavior that you don‘t even encounter in restaurants in 3rd world countries. At least there, they know that what makes a store is its customers and its reputation. Not the opinions and bad behavior of its employees. We are certainty not going back there again and spread the word around the neighborhood.

This is our go to place for pizza. The prices are reasonable, food is tasty and the staff is friendly — what’s not to like?

This is hands down the best pizza i have had since moving to Harlem. Now, I remember what real pizza tastes like. Take my word for it, order a cheese pie from here and you won’t regret it!

I came here to eat lunch and it was also close to work. This is the most disgusting pizza place I’ve ever been to. The counter guy was handling money while making pizza at the same time! The most disgusting part was when he started putting all the toppings on the pizza and picking up the cheeses WITHOUTWASHINGHISHANDS! Very gross! I’m not coming back!

I loveeee their pizza. I’m always here later in the day. Sometimes I make a pit stop after I get my hair done on 108th. The pizza is always large and delicious. The crust was extra crunchy. $ 2.50 is a good price. I’m spoiled with multiple $ 1 pizza spots near my job but I still know to pay for a decent slice of pizza. Staff is always super friendly, to me.

Terrible experience. I walked in with two family members to order a pie to go. Everyone ignored us and would not answer us when we tried to get their attention. We asked for a pizza and they walked away from us. We kept asking«hello, we would like to order», and again, the man walks away from us. Strangest, rudest experience in my time in this neighborhood.

Giovanni’s Pizzeria looks a little run down from the outside, and the impression persists after entry. But don’t let this dissuade you from stopping in and trying the pizza here, because their slices are superb. Now, they’re standard pizzeria slices, slightly better quality than Koronet Pizza up the street(though, obviously, lacking the quantity of a Koronet slice), and a good alternative to Sal & Carmine’s if you can’t make a trip down there for a better slice. For a standard slice they are quite large, and a bargain for $ 2.50. If you’re not hungry enough to eat a Koronet slice give Giovanni’s a go!

I don’t know how many godzillion times I walked by this place without eating here. But now that I have, I can assure you most everything about it is standard. The pizza is not exceptional, aside from the large slices and the two kinds of mozzarella on it(the base cheese and the high moisture stuff often sprinkled on the top at by-the-slice joints). The pizza is just as greasy here as anywhere else, except instead of pooling at the top of the slice, it seeped through the crack in my NY fold. Messy. The most endearing part of this place is the homey ambiance: a cluttered space with mismatched art that truly evokes the UWS, guys behind the counter sining in Spanish, and the drone of major network television. Also, not a bad view of Morningside Park. Local spot, no need to go out of your way.
