Weird to see so many negative reviews. Grabbed a couple bagels here with a friend the other day and thought they were very tasty. Very cheap too. It’s a small place, but it’s pleasant enough as a venue and we both enjoyed our breakfast there. One review said something about how they don’t toast the bagels? Not sure if they updated some things since then, but this place certainly does toast bagels. My mochaccino was absolutely delicious.

Thought I’d try this place out since I keep passing it by. Ordered a bagel and cream cheese and it’s probably the worst bagel I’ve had in this city(tastes like they were bought at a supermarket) and the cream cheese tasted like a watered down version of Philadelphia cream cheese. Do not recommend.

The bagels are that good, no avocado, they messed up my order and gave me an iced coffee instead of a chai latte. Won’t go back.
Didn’t even eat there yet and here I am giving a negative review. That’s right. Went there on a weekday at 720am. Door says 7am open. Waited outside for 5 minutes not knowing that the person was standing there behind the counter all this time and saw me trying to pull the door. Had to knock to get his unwanted attention only to get an attitude that they not open yet. Asked him what time are they opening because it says 7am. All he said was«when we’re ready we will open» and closed the door on me. Very very nasty attitude. Idk why people are so miserable. If you don’t like working in a bagel store then just go look for a different job. Point is that it’s a work day and if you go specially to that place you don’t want it to be closed after you did your research that it opens at 7am.

I thought this place was going to live beyond the usual sub-par service and food of a kosher symbol, but alas, it is really the same old sub-par kosher restaurant cloaked in hip aesthetics. The service was horrible, because they only had one fellow working on a Sunday and he had to take orders, prepare food and do cashier; it was absurd. He was a nice fellow, but management let him and me down. I had to plan when to go up and ask for another bagel, so as not to stand there for a while as he tried to do everything for every customer. The bagels are fine. Customer service aside, they will do the job, but nothing special. The pizza is frozen and just heated up, not fresh. The salad bar did not look appetizing. Their menu looks amazing, fresh, inspired and colorful; if only the food supported it. This is just another sub-par kosher restaurant that tries to do everything(I even saw a sushi case-without sushi), and ends up making nothing well. Oh an the only tea they had was lipton. That’s fine for a continental breakfast at the Holiday Inn, but at a hip 20th st. restaurant, I expect more.

The bagel and lox was great and service was quick. Also, the price was exceptional: only $ 7 for the bagel, cream cheese, and lox! Met a friend here who worked in Chelsea and it was a very pleasant experience. Don’t know why it has so many poor reviews…

Have been in here twice, once a weekday morning, the other a Sunday around 1pm and both times they were out of bagels…

Nice that this place is Kosher but it’s also not cheap. The reason for such low stars is very simple — this is a bagel place that doesn’t have a toaster. They have a panini press. They ask if you’d like your bagel toasted — if you reply ‘yes’, you’re getting a bagel that’s been pressed in a panini press. For a bagel place, I don’t understand how you could make such a monumental mistake. Pressing the bagel completely ruins it, losing all of the excellent qualities that make a bagel. If you were to go the untoasted route, the bagels are fine, but just fine. I don’t understand how a bagel place can not have a toaster.

I don’t know why the reviews here are so bad. This is the only kosher place in the area that has good vibes, is clean, cute and cozy ambiance. They have books you can read and the food is delicious– the guy will make you whatever you want. The music is great– it’s quiet and smells like cinnamon spice tea-The cashier was sweet and brought me my cappuccino and sandwich. I got a sub break with feta tomato lettuce olives and pesto and it was amazing! I also got a snapple and my bill came to $ 13. Great place to start your morning !

This is one of the worst place I’ve been in terms of service. When arrived we have to wait for the guy behind the counter to finish his gigantic wrap. Then they proceed to say that half of the things in the board they didn’t have it. Then all conversation was plain rude. Basically they don’t care. Only kosher place around but that doesn’t mean they can do whatever they want. Ugg

I was pretty stoked to try this place out, having to work and event right across the street. Having lived in NYC for a few years, I was back to visit and enjoy a good New York bagel. The service was really slow. Two people in line in front of me, and they were obviously frustrated at the glacial pace at which their own orders were filled, let alone the frustration they felt from the customers waiting in line behind them. I ordered an onion bagel with cream cheese and a small coffee. The employee asked me if I’d like milk in my coffee. I replied, «a tiny bit; a splash, really.» She then proceeded to pour about 5 ounces of milk into my coffee, effectively removing all taste. My «toasted» bagel tasted like it was made the day before, and it’s temperature suggested they preferred a heat lamp rather than an actual toaster. The ambiance leaves quite a bit to be desired: Not a lot of «soul» to this place; rather a bunch of thrown-together Jewish bric-à-brac and a decent counter/bar for patrons, along with 4 small tables usually filled with Orthodox Jews. Ludicrously overpriced. A bagel with cream cheese and a small coffee lightened my wallet to the tune of over $ 6.00 bucks. In short, you’re better off trading the over-the-top Kosher B.S. for any old fresh bagel from any old bodega.

I asked«Can I get a latte please?» and the guy, without even turning around to greet me(a customer) just yelled«No! No latte today.» Keep it classy, Gezunte. 13 years in NYC and hands down rudest experience I have ever had. Why would a shop keeper ever behave this way?

Bagels are Kosher Cholov certificated by Rabbi Naftali R. where my latest breakfast incarnation of one onion toasted bagel with butter at $ 2.00 was rather dry and harden. Money talks while quality cannot be compromised with price. Cheap eats but not for a return. A two man staff who are fluent in Spanish serve customers professionally and promptly.
