Simply the best! In a neighborhood with ridiculously high prices, they stand out for their fairness. They might not have the best food in town, but is decent, fairly– priced and made for you with a friendly demeanor. Good selection, super friendly service… Love this place!

Great place to grab a quick sandwich. They have tons you can choose from or you can make your own. Either way the sandwich is made from scratch. Move down to the cashier while the sandwich is being made. Beautiful efficiency and the cashiers are always super-friendly. They take credit cards.

It is sad that I have to find a new lunch spot, not because of the food but the nasty attitude given to me multiple times by the cashier. As much as I like the soup and half sandwich deal, it’s not worth being disrespected when I’m pretty much a regular and the cashier throws my receipt into my bag of food, no hello’s, overcharges me. It was so obvious that my colleague that was present(didn’t order) noticed and got better treatment than me! Goodbye, Ashby’s. It was good when you respected all customers.

Local Chelsea café shop for great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. It’s a narrow shop but the quality coming out of that small kitchen is pretty good. Come here for the great breakfast sandwiches. They make a great bacon and egg sandwich on a toasted bagel. The bacon is one of the best crispy bacon i’ve had on a breakfast sandwich. Wonderfully made eggs with them being fluffy tasty and seasoned well. Yes it’s eggs but you’ll be surprised how many places in this city get eggs wrong. Here they don’t. Great price point and strong well made coffee. The soups here for lunch look good as well. Good fast counter service so I’ll be a regular here for breakfast for sure.

They’re open early for breakfast, one of the best bagel sandwiches and iced coffee spots in the neighborhood. I always get the oatmeal with strawberry/banana toppings, or the ham + egg on an everything bagel, I’ve always liked how well they cook their eggs here, nice and filling. The service is fast, the staff is very friendly and helpful, just remember to line up with everyone else, this is a grab and go spot.

We are visiting NY for the weekend and wanted to try some good local food. I found this page on Instagram that about eating places in NY. I found a picture of Ashbys and we are so glad we tried it. The staff was so friendly, the food was very delicious and fresh, and they weren’t expensive. I would recommend Ashbys to anyone who wants great breakfast!

Ashby’s has great food at a reasonable price. I love Ashby’s and am there pretty frequently. I’ve never tried their salads, but I love their breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and the soups are pretty good too. They also have a good lunch special for soup and a half sandwich that’s both delicious and affordable. The staff is also really great! It does get a little crowded and hectic during rush times, and the establishment is so tiny that it’s hard to maneuver. If you go, I’d say to avoid peak breakfast/lunch hour.

I have a serious love hate relationship for this place. What I love: Breakfast sandwiches are delicious! Perfectly cooked bacon egg and cheese. Iced flavored coffee is good Cheap! One of the guys who works there is a sandwich genius. He’s fast and remembers everything What I hate: Is a major cluster. Especially before the school across the street starts or lunch time. Inefficient. You give your order to someone who has to remember it, no pos resulting in incorrect or forgotten orders. There is another guy who works there who without a doubt, ruins my sandwich by getting the order wrong or just poor construction. Clearly I’m particular about my sandwiches. All in all — delicious food, clean place, bad atmosphere and so so staff.

If you’re in the area and you need a cheap, but good meal… go to ashby’s. I literally got a grilled cheese panini for $ 5! Just $ 5! INNYC! and it was gooooood! I’ve even had a $ 1 bagel there too! I love prices and food: D

Great breakfast sandwiches. Lunch sandwiches, wraps, paninis and salads are good and reasonably priced compared to other spots nearby. The service is okay and have only messed up my order a few times but due to the space thats so tiny and so many people ordering inside, I don’t sweat it. This is my go to spot near my job since they do have a variety of options for lunch and its good tasting!

Great soup just a crazy wait. Not my favorite place for good value. But don’t think it deserves three’s stars either.

If you’re headed here for lunch, then there’s no cheaper place. Trust me, do the large soup and half sandwich combo. It’s $ 8. No, there’s not misunderstanding here. Yes, it’s in Flatiron. Yes, I repeat, $ 8. Do it. It’s always cramped in there and often a bit hectic with a consistent bottleneck near the door. But it’s worth it.

The soups are great, so tasty! And show me the person who made this clam chowder, I’ll love you forever! :) P. S.: haven’t had anything else but soups.

Portions are inconsistent on the breakfast sandwiches. Some days they pile on the eggs but skimp on the bacon, other days its reversed, and very rarely do they balance it well. The guy this morning shafted me on the bacon and said he’d have to charge extra for any more. Then he scooped the bacon and eggs that fell out of the bun onto the counter(directly) and just stuffed it back into the sandwich before wrapping it up. I should have just gotten a bagel from the guy that remembers everybody’s orders.

BREAKFAST: Amazing breakfast sandwiches? Check. Bagels with great spreads? Check. Creative smoothie combos? Check. LUNCH: Delicious sandwiches? Another check. Tasty soups? You guessed it, check. All in all, this place meets all the requirements for a quick breakfast or lunch spot. Check plus. N.B. The only thing I’d stay away from the cream based soups, unless you’re looking for something crazy heavy.

Breakfast at Ashby’s was economical and quick with one bagel at $ 1.35 and one small hot Green Tea at $ 1.10. Unfortunately there is no seating as it is merely a takeout café to fit the hustle and bustle on-the-go New York scene. Service is efficient and abrasive in rudeness attitude. Albeit my bagel was swimming in a big tub of cream cheese it was decent to devour and to sustain substance getting through five hours of the work day. Space is microscopic small and the queue to order is chaos. A sales receipt is dispensed without question. Ashby’s have a loyalty rewards card where the eleventh coffee purchase is free after attaining ten coffees.
