I’ve always loved this place and the food it great, however today the woman working the register was just down right rude and aggressive. If want a great breakfast sandwich hit this place up. just ignore the counter girl.

Stumbled upon this place, noticed all seats were filled. So it may seem like a solid coffee spot. There’s a huge photograph of a hot chocolate with a chunk of a marshmallow floating in it. I ordered it. It came out to be $ 5+ and THATISVERYSTEEP. I asked why isn’t there a marshmallow — and they said there is none. That was quite disturbing. There was no follow up — no willingness to try to patronize nor attend to the customer’s question/wants. Who knows, maybe p/t workers who just want to get through the day– but still. Management should really make a better effort to enable the staff to be more upfront with customers and perhaps facilitate them. Never coming back again. Which is fine — since it seems like the ones who filled up the seats look like regulars. To each their own. Thanks for reading.

How this place managed to mess up a plain bagel toasted with butter, I don’t know… except they totally did. They cut it crookedly and put it on the grill. There’s one weird spot that’s toasted. Dear lord.

I mean this place isn’t bad. I don’t understand why the ratings are so bad. The bagels and service were good so what more could you ask?

Normally – I have few complaints about Corner Café. But today my «large» salad showed up. And the container was a barely over half full. Definitely not a large. That being said, I’ve been ordering from here for a while and this could be a fluke. But cmon guys.

Ok so I was meaning to write a review for a while now but decided to give them another try before I made my statement. And now without a hesitation I can say everything about them is disappointing. First of all, it takes at least ten minutes to get a bagel and the amount of cream cheese they use is ridiculously little. I even asked the guy to put enough cream cheese and yet it was barely there! It feels like I’ve paid double then what I got. Really annoyed by this.

It’s tricky to find an affordable lunch on this side of town, so Corner Café really hits the spot. $ 6 for a salad with 6 toppings — fresh veggies in generous portions. Not sure when lunchtime prices end, but I’ve come in at 3pm & gotten that special. There are a handful of tables for chillin, but nobody seems to hang here long so I’ve never had a problem finding a seat. The street side nook is perfect for people watching. Colorful regulars make for a casually pleasant nosh. Oh — and there’s a bathroom, score. Service is prompt and nowhere close to mean, but I’m not trying to get a bagel with butter at 8:50AM on a workday… ya feel me?

I’m updating my review to reiterate my love for this pls and their bagels. I don’t understand the low stars. Their bagels are amaze-balls and they are literally the size of softballs. Always fresh, doughy and amazing. Sorry but I think they are better than murray’s quality-wise and for overall experience. Also their«veggie» tuna is fantastic. I’m not sure what is in it as obviously it is not vegetarian because it is tuna, and I think the veggies in it mainly are carrot and celery but it is soooo good and get it on a bagel of course! I love their coffee too, it is standard deli coffee but fresh hot and never burnt.

Great catering for an executive meeting. I called late the evening before an important meeting and Kenise was very pleasant and helpful. Once I explained the type of event and needs she helped me select the classic sandwich and wrap platter which comes with an assortment of sandwiches and wraps along with macaroni salad, potato salad and assorted chips.(Note: if you choose to select both Mac salad and potato salad, plan for a smaller amount of each. Makes sense but didn’t think about it until I saw the containers.). I also ordered a dessert platter and canned sodas. The price is decent for the food that you receive. I appreciated being able to order per person as opposed to «feeds 5−10». I was a little worried not having an email confirmation and when I called shortly before delivery I was a tiny bit nervous because they said it was almost ready to be delivered; however, the delivery was right on time which makes me so happy! A happy customer is what I am and I will definitely be using their services for the next meeting/event.

Corner café, where do I start. You are WAY too inconsistent. As a customer, If your order is prepared properly, to your specifications, and delivered on time, you’ll probably really enjoy Corner Café. The problem is that the service and attention to detail is SERIOUSLY lacking, lacking to the point I have no idea how they stay in business. For example: I’ve only ever ordered breakfast from Corner Café, and If I order the same thing 3 days in a single week, each day it will be unique. One day my toast will be missing butter, the next day it will be untoasted with a slab of margarine in the middle of the bread, the third day it will just be cold bread in tin foil. I’ll ask them for a few ketchup packets and they won’t include any. How f*cking hard is it to have some quality control? This is BASIC stuff. Get your shit together Corner Café. Fire your manager, get better staff, whatever you need to do. On a more positive note, when everything does work out perfectly. I do enjoy your food. It’s also very well-priced.

My salad was fresh, crisp, and flavorful, get it with sundried tomatoes they were perfect. Pizza was great, exceptionally good pepperoni and I’m not usually a pepperoni fan. Poppy seed bagel was perfect. The manager was kind and gave me free pepperoni on my slices when they were out of cheese slices. Clean, great place. Very convenient when I was staying next door at Hampton Inn.

This place is just ‘meh’ for me. Of all the places to eat in Chelsea area. But I do love iced hazelnut coffee and it didn’t disappoint here. Great for a grab n go drink or pastry but not for much else!

The service here is awful and the food is not much better. They are consistently bad but its the only place for me to grab a serviceable bagel on the way to work so I suffer through it occasionally but today was just the worst. I placed my order for a toasted bagel with butter and went to pay. The 5 people after me in line, including a woman that ordered an egg dish all got their food before me. When I complained about the people behind the register didn’t even acknowledge that I was speaking. So I finally got my food they handed it to me without even looking at me so I said…“and no apology either” Both women behind the counter just looked up at me and then continued to go about their work. When I finally opened the bagel the butter wasn’t even melted. Never again.

Bad coffee. Bad service. Bad pricing. When I complained about the terrible coffee, the woman didn’t offer to pour again, refund, or apologize. Instead she demanded 2 more dollars bc I got tofu scallion instead of regular scallion cream cheese on my bagel. Why is tofu on a bagel $ 4 whereas regular cream cheese is $ 2?

This place is located by Touro College and so I’ve been here a few times before school, mostly for breakfast. It’s not so great but it’s the closest bagel shop around. Usually though I just grab a coffee off one of the carts. Today I got a slice of pizza. They have a pizza special, 2 regular slices and a soda for $ 4, which I did not get because I limited myself to one slice which was $ 2.73. The pizza was missing a bit of flavor and def. not gonna get another one here. When I came here in the mornings a couple of times I was disappointed because my bagel wasn’t scooped out like I asked(I didn’t see until I got to school and began eating it and at that point didn’t take it back). They also charge more for lite scallion cream cheese. I was shocked. This place is a bit pricey. Overall it’s not the worst spot you can eat, but not really recommended.

«Untouchably bad» Ordered some basic food on a weekday — eggs plate, bagel, soda and coffee. And more than 75 minutes later it arrives. It wasn’t even a Saturday, this was in the morning on a weekday. I mean you have to try to be this bad. I think Washington crossed the Delaware in less time. Worst part of all — no flavored seltzer! I just don’t get how places like this still operate in the most competitive restaurant market in the world. Really, when there are so so soooooooooooooo many options for average deli food in NYC, why not go somewhere else?

Yikes! Wish I circled around the block in search of ANYTHING better than this overpriced and unfriendly café. Sometimes my hunger leads me to questionable food choices. It’s usually greasy dollar slices, but every so often it’s unpleasant delis such as this one. I actually like running to my bodega for my snack fix, as it’s quick, cheap and efficient. Not this place. It’s incredibly overpriced. After paying for my lunch, i waiting 5 minutes(no line) to receive my bagel. I asked two employees about it. Eventually a third handed me my order with a loud grunt. Geez, sorry to be a paying customer! They have unusual bagel flavors which adds a star. Waffle-flavored bagel? Yes please. Regardless, a bagel with cream cheese will run you $ 2.50. Plus tax. Minus a smile.

I work around the corner so I came here a few times. NEVER again. They have the worst service and have managed to mess up the simple 1 item order EVERY time. It’s not that hard. The food is also mediocre at best, not great prices either. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. They do not know what any of their menu items are called. WTF??? Spare yourself a headache and at least 20 wasted minutes. This is coming from someone who is rational and doesn’t even expect much from a corner deli type joint.

To jump start my morning on a weekday, my dwindling interest in the painstaking slow search for an uplifting breakfast continues. The Corner Café literally sits on the corner of 24th Street and Sixth Avenue in Chelsea. One banana $ 0.75 and one Cranberry muffin $ 2.00(without sales tax charged to my bill) was a very economical but fulfilling meal. The muffin was very fresh, moist and soft. Staff is inattentive when taking orders as customers queue up, but attentive mainly to serving orders to fulfillment as one is only interested in attaining money. Plenty of bagels and prepared hot breakfast platters are readily available.
