I love this local store that carries a plethora of gluten free options. The pricing is a bit over the top so buy items that you can’t find anywhere else.

Awesome! They had a gluten free bread I was looking for and couldn’t find anywhere else. Large selection of hard-to-find items. Plus very helpful being open until 8 pm!

I ordered a tin of cookies through their online Amazon store, which was described as being 3 pounds shipping weight for a total price of $ 32(including shipping). When the package came, it only contained a 12 oz. package of cookies. I thought they had shipped the wrong item and contacted them. They sent me back an insulting email, insisting that they had done nothing wrong and that they were not going to provide me with what I ordered. I had the option of shipping it back to them for another $ 7(I had already paid $ 7 for shipping making it a total loss of $ 14 to me). The people at G-Free NYC are just greedy creeps, so beware if you order something from them, you’ll be the ones to lose out in a big way.

Great selection — not the lowest prices, but definitely worth it for the 1-stop convenience. Also, the woman working there made some great recommendations regarding their fresh bread and black & white cookies. It’s nice shopping without having to constantly check labels for gluten. I will 1000% be back.

Trying gluten free for a little while and this place is perfect! The cookies are tremendously delicious, can’t believe how good things can be, gluten free. And the selection is prime. Definitely make it a point to visit this place if you’re in the neighborhood.

If you are gluten-free, run to this store. It is a go-to for everything gluten-free and has a very knowledgeable staff. If you are just starting a gluten-free lifestyle — go now. If you’ve been gluten-free awhile(me since 2007), put it on your list to go soon. You’ll be delighted by what you find. Fresh baked goods(bread, pastries, cookies), wide array of great frozen items(multiple pizza options, ready to bake items, great frozen meals), a splendid array of condiments, and many gluten-free snack items that you’ve never seen before. I wish the prices we’re just a little lower. I realize that a store front on the UWS dedicated to gluten-free comes with a price tag, but I’d shop there more frequently if the prices were a little better.

Great selection of gluten free goods. Many things I would recommend, a few I wouldn’t. The one thing I did not like was the puff pastry but other than that, everything I’ve purchased here has been great.

Great gluten free shop. A little pricey of course, but it’s a one stop shop for everything and anything gluten free. They have excellent beers, pastas, desserts, snacks, etc etc.

Small G free grocery, but still amazing nontheless. Plenty of novelty cookies, pastas, and cakes. Worth the trip.

A great GF little place to pick up items. They also have really fantastic fresh breads on Saturdays and fresh cookies, muffins, and cakes. Yum!

This is such a cute little shop packed with gluten free delights. Everything I’ve bought has been fantastic as they pick their items carefully. The weekly delivery of fresh baked goods means that you can enjoy something other than a frozen item; something that is far too common for us gluten free folks. I’ve always had great experiences there. Sign up for their newsletter to learn about the free tastings!

My mom and a few of my friends are gluten — free, and it’s so great to be able to come here. It’s such a relief to be able to trust their groceries and not Labour over reading ingredient list after ingredient list. Also, they keep adding to the supply, so it’s wonderful to be able to constantly find new things. It’s convenient and in a great location. All around wonderful!

So now that gluten free has taken off in a major way, I was impressed to see a shop carrying only gluten free products. That’s a first. Mind you, it’s a small shop, but the selection is quite good. For starters, there is a fridge and freezer section with breads, baked goods, pizza, veggie burgers, etc. The shop receives fresh baked bread at least once a week. There is also a large selection of packaged grocery items from crackers, bake mixes to other goods. And for those with a sweet tooth, gluten free candy and desserts! Gluten free body and beauty products can be found behind the front entrance door or immediately to your right upon entering the shop. You will have to open up your wallet as this is a specialty shop, and a $ 10 minimum for credit card charges. But if you’re searching for gluten free under one roof, this is it.

I really like this place! The owner is helpful and knows a lot about the products so she was able to recommend things for me based on my preferences and dietary needs. If you are gluten and dairy free, she can steer you to the right items. They usually have fresh and delicious baked goods(some also dairy free) too. Luckily I live nearby, but it’s worth a trip.

Busy on a Friday evening, the chatty and personable man working the small storefront(formerly a shoeshine shop) described the darker $ 1 cookie as a chocolate-dipped oreo(which it was decidedly not). This and the rest of the cookie bar are from some of their suppliers(scored mine free for a vote for Mission Main Street per their e-list). They boast an admittedly great selection for those who are G-F but without the need I won’t be back unless I’m feeding a horde of celiacs(real or fake, the latter of which is likely very common around here which explains how it’s thriving after 2.5+ years).

A gluten free haven!!! The first time I walked by G-Free NYC, my heart skipped a beat! It’s a life-changing discovery, since we just moved 6 blocks away. Not only do they carry a huge array of gluten free foods, but they have products I haven’t seen elsewhere(fresh cake pops, soft pretzels, etc.). The owner Lynne is wonderful, caring and passionate about what she does. The other staff member I’ve met is also warm and very helpful. I always feel welcomed and at home when I’m here. On top of everything, they offer a rewards program where you can collect points toward awesome prizes(like your own custom designed cake pops with your monogram, etc). I’ve become a regular here and you should too! :)

My go to place for everything Gluten Free in NYC. I never waste money on an item that turns out to be less than good(as is often the case with WF). The owner tried everything herself before she carries it. So you know it will be good. She has an excellent assortment of staples like GF flours, pastas, crackers, and sauces(like soy sauce). She also carries fresh baked breads from bakeries all over — my absolute favorite is the caraway seeded bread(The delivery schedule of fresh bread is on her website). She also has a wonderful assortment of treats to choose from — The Main Line Bakery pumpkin muffins are amazing. I am also dairy free, and she has an excellent assortment of dairy free items as well. If you have Celiac Disease or are gluten free in NYC you should make the trip and check the store out — you won’t be disappointed!

As a gluten-free foodie, this store is one of my go-to places. The owner is super helpful; even though the store doesn’t specifically cater to the dairy-free, she always tries to help me find items that are also dairy-free since that is what I need. I also know that she is very vigilant about making sure that the items she sells are safe for the gluten-sensitive. There was an item that was originally gluten-free but the company changed the ingredients and it potentially had gluten in it. I mentioned this to her and next time I went there, she was no longer selling the item — she had investigated and found that indeed the items could contain gluten. It was not a clear ingredient and the product was really good — she could have kept on selling it. I appreciate that commitment to making sure all of the items she sells are safe for us. G-Free NYC carries a wide range of food items, from gluten-free pastas to flours, snack goods and frozen items, and always has fresh gluten-free baked goods. This is a great place to find a range of gluten-free desserts. Thank goodness for this place!

There was a fantastic selection of stuff here. Yes, expensive, but you’d charge high prices too if you were running a small specialty store on the Upper West Side! Besides, gluten free is still not totally mainstream, so it’s gonna cost more. I was happy to pay more for the artisan baked goods I purchased. Mainly, I was looking for BAGELS. And I got ‘em, two kinds! One was Laurie’s, which were already baked ad just needed to be sliced and toasted. HOLYFUCK they were great! The others I had to bake when I got them home. They were good but collapsed. I still ate them, though, because like I said, they were GOOD. I also got a carrot cake cupcake that was absolutely to die for! Anyway, the lady there was super helpful and gave me a list of places that had gluten free options in NYC, which was really awesome. Definitely a gem for anyone trying to find gluten free options in the city. Worth checking out! Plus, it’s in a beautiful neighborhood!
